  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Loving Unselfishly

When we study the Old Testament of the Bible, we must always read it in light of the New Covenant Relationship God now has with his people who believe in Jesus Christ to be Lord and Savior of their lives. And, this particularly applies to when we read Old Testament and Old Covenant law, such as...

Is it possible to love according the new commandment, but without the Law?

Hi there, So by the Law we have a shadow of the Grace to come (letters, paraphrase) but by the Grace that supercedes the Law, we are commanded to love one another - as Jesus does, in principle without destroying the Law (as He said "Do not think I cam to destroy the Law"). The problem is that...

    Heaven's Law

I wondered the following in another thread and it was kind of drifting off topic, so I am giving it a realm of is own!: Galatians 6:8 "For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting." 2 Corinthians 9:6...

The Forefathers of the Salvation by Works Christians

The Forefathers of the Salvation by Works Christians The most serious deviation from a scriptural view of salvation is found in those who make salvation contingent upon one's performance. While today this soteriology can be found in various sects of Christianity, I believe it's origin to be...

Jesus and Paul on Justification by the Law

Jesus on Justification by the Law As I stated in a previous thread, salvation by works Christians typically confuse verses which speak of justification by law as if they are speaking of justification by faith. Here Jesus is speaking of justification by the Law. Luke 10:25-28 On one occasion...

Righteousness by Law versus by Faith

Righteousness by Law versus by Faith The Bible contrasts the Righteousness which is by one's compliance to the Law versus the Righteousness which is by faith apart from the law. Note for example Romans 10:4-6 Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. For Moses...

    IS TIME TRAVEL A SIN?

I have been doing a lot of discussing in various forums, where the idea of time travel has come up repeatedly. Then, just yesterday, I watched Avengers: Endgame - Wikipedia (spoiler alert), and time travel, once again, entered my consciousness. I remember, years ago, that I proposed the idea...

Escaping The Trap of Legalism.... pt 2

So, in this Thread, which is the sister Thread regarding the one i wrote to you yesterday, .. in this one i want to drill down deeper. Now, we are talking about "Legalism" which is not a word found in the NT, yet, Paul wrote an entire letter to the Galatians, that is talking to, and about...

    All for His Glory

Romans 3:20 ESV For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. Not one of us can be saved from our sins by keeping a set of rules, especially if some of those are man-made rules, for not one of us can keep the whole law...

    My Commitment To The Law

I was so confused about this up until today. Today I make up my mind completely to study, meditate upon and obey the laws of the Father. I don't think it important for ALL Christian, but if the Father has pulled your heart to himself in such a way it is up to you to respond. The laws were...

    Torah Incarnate

"Judaism believes that the Torah was created before the world, thus historic Judaism came to accept that the Word (The Torah) can be legitimately viewed as a form of incarnation. Some Jewish scholars will argue that even the nation of Israel is an incarnational process, and that Ezekiel 37...

    Justification by Law

There have been those who propose that justification is contingent upon one's ongoing performance. There have been those who propose that one maintains one's justification by not sinning. These ideas are which Paul refers to as justification by law and are in contrast to justification by faith...

    The work of Christ

Let love predominate where the law is brought forward. Learn to forgive each other and learn to understand each other. Do not only address God but also to man. God created us and he wanted us to experience love. Our task is therefore very simple: to love. That is the reason for our existence...

Everything comes together in this one commandment: Love one another

Many think only of God. They obviously do not care about how things are with humans. But if you only look at what God wants, and have no understanding of His creature, then you cannot love God. I have written a piece about this and will share it here: Everything comes together in this one...

Should Priests Report Serious Crimes Confided In Confession

Has The Law of The "Old Testament" Been Abolished?

Has the law of the "Old testament" been abolished? Are Christians required to keep it? What do you think? Personally, I think it has not been abolished and we are to keep it, based on these passages, and many more. Yeshua/Jesus says in Mathew 5:17-19 "17 Do not think that I have come to...

    Law and Faith

Does the subject of law and faith ever confuse you? I think it can be confusing for those of us who were born in the Messianic age, and not under the Old Covenant, as the Jews of old were. I think, too, that in this confusion a lot of false doctrines were born out of wrong ideas of what all this...
