  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why Did God Give The Law & The Prophets?

Why did God give the law and the prophets?... The Lord was pleased for His righteousness’ sake To make the law great and glorious. Isaiah 42:21 NASB… ... “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field. Matthew 13:24 NASB… ...For as the rain and the snow come...

    Every jot and tittle

Hi all. I've had a look at a few threads here which deal with the old law and how it correlates to the new testament. There seems to be a growing number of people today who want to go back to the old law as though the old ways are superior to what Jesus taught. I believe this video does a...

Torah and Grace. Everyone Has A Role.

God uses each one of us in various ways for various purposes. All God’s word given to us is needed. If you are preaching Grace, please do not oppose those who stress the importance of Torah. And if you are preaching Torah, please do not oppose those who stress the importance of Grace. It is...

WHY THE LAW IS A PART OF THE GOSPEL

Hi all there seems to be some confusion here for some people on this topic and being critical subject matter, I throught it would be good to share a different perspective as to why God's Law applied both to the Torah (all laws) but specifically to God's 10 commandments are a part of the Gospel...

    Torah + Prophets

"Always treat others as you would like them to treat you; that sums up the teaching of the Torah and the Prophets". Matthew 7:12 The perfect love of the heavenly Father is most reflected in His children when they treat others as they themselves wish to be treated. Ask yourself whether the...

Who gave the Law? Moses or Yahweh?

Hello everyone, I find it fascinating that not once (that I can find) did Jesus ever refer to the Law as God's Law, but only ever as the Law of Moses. I also find it fascinating that the NT at several places says the Law was given by angels (Acts 7:38, 7:53; Galatians 3:19; Hebrews 2:2) - this...

Understanding Christ: A Look Through The Book Of Luke - Luke 6

There is a reason why the caption for this series says: UNDERSTANDING CHRIST: A Look through the Book of Luke. It is a look through the book of Luke for given the time frame we have we cannot fully exhaust the contents of the book of Luke in one month. So pardon me if my blog post tends to...

    Spotlight on Heresy

Imagine a forum where those who are washed in the Blood of the Lamb, and who have God's Righteousness imputed to them, could celebrate together the Joy of Salvation, the Joy of the Lord, and find deep teaching for their spirit and rest for their soul. Imagine a forum where Grace rules in the...

    Your WORKS won't do it.

There are NO verses in the Bible, both Testaments included... that say Jesus, once in you, will leave you if you are a bad Christian, etc. He is sealed in there, along with the Holy Spirit, unless the bible is lying. Jesus does promise you Eternal Life, and this promise has NO CONDITIONS, once...

The Holy Spirit will do three things, if He goes the extra mile for Jesus

Hi there, So yes, John talks of the Holy Spirit doing three things: convicting of sin, righteousness and judgment. But elsewhere it says He will not talk on His Own Authority; not seeking His Own Authority means that He will be compelled to weigh the "authority" of others, in a sense weighing...

"I did not come to destroy the Law, but to fulfil it" is prophetic of a coming Age.

Hi there, So as Revelation tells us, the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy. This means that specific things Jesus said, have a prophetic power, compared with the context for which they were meant. Take "I did not come to destroy the Law, but to fulfil it", in the Spirit of Prophecy...

    Mega Church money video

Are God's laws reasonable or arbitrary?

If we all assume that God's laws are authoritative simply because God is God, it still leaves open the question if whether those laws are arbitrary or reasonable. If a law of God is reasonable, then it is not arbitrary. If it is arbitrary, then it is not reasonable. Maybe it's the case that...

    If We are Christ's

Galatians 3:23-29 ESV Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed. So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a...
