  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Health and safety

Please pray that my son Jakeb feels better and that God will heal his stomach and GI issues. Please pray that he won't lose more weight and there is nothing seriously wrong and please if it is God's will to please change his mind about going out of town. He just isn't well enough. I really need your prayers please. I ask in the name of Jesus. Thank you and God bless you. Carmen

Two in a bed one taken... where? Where there is a dead body, the vultures will gather. This means?

Yes, they were killed and Noah and his family were left on the earth.
I see it as Noah and his family were taken to safety by being on the ark and those left behind outside of the ark were all killed. Similarly, when Jesus comes again, we (the church) will all be taken up to meet Him in the air and those left behind and not taken up will all be killed. Either way you look at it, the text indicates that all unbelievers will be killed when Jesus returns just as all unbelievers were killed by the flood in Noah's day.

Great Faith

Great Faith is expressed by boldness of confession.
1 Timothy 3:13
For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves
a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

The boldness of strangers received this testimony
Matthew 8:

9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one,
‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
10 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you,
I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!
[Luke 7:8 & 9]
A Canaanite Woman Is Bold With Her Love For Her Daughter
Matthew 15:26-28
But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

The Manifestation of the Gifts of the Spirit Reflects Great Boldness
Ecclesiastes 8:1
Who is the wise man? And who knoweth the interpretation of a thing?
a man's wisdom makes his face shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.
Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned
and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
A Congregation Must Have the Wisdom To Simply Ask For Boldness
Acts 4:29-31
Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Love For The Ecclesia Is Bold
2 Corinthians 7:4
Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you:
I am filled with comfort, I am exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation.
Boldness in Love Brings Confidence In The Day of Judgment
1 John 4:17
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness
on the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
A True Witness Is A Bold Witness With Great Grace
Acts 4:33
And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.
And great grace was upon them all.

Elections

Will it be held? Yeah - I'm a 1.

Will it be fair / will Trump try to mess with it somehow? Maybe a 7. I mean if the Republicans are going to lose control of congress, I think it's a pretty safe bet that he's going to try something. How severe is anyone's guess. But the fact that he tried using fake electors and stabbed his own vice president in the back during the 2020 election speaks volumes to his character, and the lengths he's willing to go to to maintain power.

An Ant-sy Solution to Hydrogen Storage

Because liberating the hydrogen from formate for a fuel would return the CO2 to the atmosphere, I'm not sure the "green benefit" relative to other H2 storage mechanisms. What does seem more promising is changing the industrial formic acid production from fossil fuels to CO2 from the atmosphere.
It would with formic acid fuel cells. My chemistry is so old I can't remember if a mole of hydrogen is H or H2. Do recall we looked at some gases a combo, like O2 (not noble gasses, of course), but no longer sure why.

Oh: found formic acid fuel cells existed looking for more info on energy density. I assumed that the process would go from formate to formic acid and back again without releasing CO2. But assuming that's the process doesn't make it so. For all know, formate could be unstable or there's no easy way to decompose HCO2H to HCO + H.

FWIW, formic acid has a energy density of 2.13 KWh/L, but that's going from HCO2H to CO2 + H2.

If going from CO2 to HCO2 to HCO2H is what they are addressing, I'm more concerned by the extra step that CO2 going back into the atmosphere since it's not adding to CO2. It's not sequestering it, but that might not be the point. What's really grabbed my interest is that it might be a good way to store solar and wind produced electricity. But that extra step would have to cut into energy efficiency; by how much I have no idea.

Just looked at lithium battery capacity. By volume it may be from 0.3 to 0.7 KWh/L, which is surprising to me.

Circumcision of the Heart

1 Corinthians 7:16
16 For how do you know, O wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife?
Being Paul mentions "wife" before he mentions husband we can conclude that the New Testament is a New (Messianic) Covenant. Galatians 3:28 - "neither Greek nor Jew, neither slave nor free, nor male or female" ... .
in other words GOD is just as likely to call a female as He is a man under the New (Messianic) Covenant.
1 Corinhians 7:14-15
For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband.
1 Corinthians 7:17-18
17 Let him not become uncircumcised. Was anyone called while uncircumcised? Let him not be circumcised.
18 Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is what matters. (is verse 17 just for non-Jewish Christians?
The Judaism Faith forum at CF is considered a Christian forum by CF Administration.

Likewise then one can/could conclude that Paul is referring to the Ten Commandments in verse 18.
Thus observing the 7th Day Sabbath is indeed "Christian" being that the "Messianic Judaism" forum at CF is indeed a "Christian" forum as are other 7th Day (Christian) denominations.
"Many are called, but few are chosen" (Matthew 22:14)
Can we conclude that only those with a Spiritual Circumcision Of Heart are chosen?

Hillary Clinton speaks out against 'toxic empathy' — but misses the point

“Empathy is not a thing,” said Dr. Albert Mohler on the Feb. 3 edition of “The Briefing,” a show in which Mohler analyzes current events, giving his take on them from a Christian worldview. Mohler made his statement while addressing an opinion piece Hillary Clinton wrote in which she called out commentator Allie Beth Stuckey, as well as Pastors Joe Rigney and Douglas Wilson.

“I want to say even as I’ve been challenged on this in the last few days, it’s not so much that I think empathy is wrongly defined. It is the fact that I don’t think empathy is a thing,” said Mohler, who is president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS).

“I don’t think it’s real. I think it is a substitute for a real Christian morality,” he said. “A real Christian morality is not empathy, but sympathy and it’s feeling with—it’s compassion, feeling with—and then taking the requisite actions driven by Christian conviction.”

David C. Pack asks; "Were the 10 Cs "Done away"? ... And nothing ever; on 2 Cor 3:7? P2.

JEsus saves us from our sin (Matthew 1:21), so Jesus graciously teaching us to be a doer of the Law of God is intrinsically the way that he is giving us the content of his gift of saving us from not being a doer of it. If someone refuses to keep the Sabbath holy, then it would be in accurate to think that they are being saved from not keeping the Sabbath holy.

Once Upon A Time...

....There were two guys. One was born into the music industry, and the other was born into the skateboarding industry. The first learned how to sing and make music, and the other one learned how to skate, respectfully. Unfortunately, due to the circumstances of their births and the world they were born into, they both had to deal with his own degree of suffering.

When the two guys became of age, they met each other, bonded over their mutual sufferings, and became friends; some may even say, like brothers.

The first one could bring himself out of his own sufferings to a certain degree, but unfortunately for the second guy, he almost succumbed to the pressures of his own fame and almost became a casualty of it. His own life was too much for him to handle. But then he met the girl he was going to marry and I believe she helped him out of his sufferings and from going down a dark path. I am eternally grateful to her for her help.

Now, I was born into a very different world than these two. I have had a really good life up until this point and have never had to suffer like these two did. I believe that God has blessed my life tremendously, and that his guardian angels have always looked after me and protected me.

I pray every day that God gives these two the same peace He has so graciously bestowed upon me. I spend my days in peace, completely grounded in Him. Now, I wish the same for these two gentlemen.

I like telling nonfiction stories, but not ones like this that involve dark elements like suffering. Yes, the story I just told is all true.

Whenever I know someone is suffering, it makes me feel sad and have compassion for that person. I always pray for them too, that they will find Jesus. He is the Light. He can help them I know.

Christianity Without the Bible

When a skeptic argues against the Bible, he is usually not attacking the book but the ideas in the book. Skeptics are not really concerned about how many generations there are between Adam and Jesus or how many angels were at Jesus’ tomb. It is Christianity that concerns them (and hence the New Testament in particular). Since many Christians and skeptics alike consider the Bible to be the foundation of Christianity, to call its historicity, manuscript transmission, scientific accuracy, etc. into question is to call Christianity into question.

Defenses of Christianity, then, often either begin or conclude with a defense of the Bible. But what if the trustworthiness of the Bible could not be satisfactorily defended?

I don’t think this is the case, but it is worth thinking about for at least these two reasons: 1) most skeptics think the Bible has not been defended sufficiently, and 2) the case for Christianity will be even stronger if it can survive the failure of these popular methods. If the defense of Christianity is not coextensive with that of the Bible, then attacks on the latter can’t be used against the former.

I would argue that even if we lost the Bible completely, Christianity would remain undefeated. Therefore, the defeat of the Bible would not entail the defeat of Christianity.

How can we be sure of this?

First, Christianity preceded the Christian Bible. The New Testament writings did not begin until at least a decade after Christ started the Church, yet those who believed were Christians and therefore constituted the Church (1 Cor. 1:2 cf. 15:1-5).

‘We Celebrate Her Courage’—LDS Post Praising Eve’s Choice To Eat Forbidden Fruit Goes Viral

Wow! So Elohim was born to human parents, and He obeyed them to become God. I wonder where the human parents came from, and what made them different from other human parents.
Yup, I don’t get it either. Have no idea if the modern LDS Church still teaches that.

I assume they see Elohim and Yahweh as the same.
