  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have no idea what this means... I am saying the passage I quoted from you is in alignment with what I said in the Original Post.
Facepalm....I truly hope the rest of your response isn't like the way you started.

7And the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked
I'm going to need to know which translation you are quoting from. I quoted 5 of the most popular for you in my last post, and not one of them said that "they knew they where naked.."

With all due respect...you haven't really shown me anything.
Adam was created on day 6.
this response amounts to little more than saying "Nut-huh, because I said so." If we have come to an end of what you are willing/able to discuss, I can respect that. Thanks for your input and time.

In 'the day" -- thus, at the time, at the day, God did such and such

In the day I planted my garden,, does not specify a day certain.

Words matter.

no need to wonder why there are tens of thousands of diverse churches. Folks can not read or won't
Day in Gen 1 refers to a 24 hour long day.
Day in Gen 2 refers to a time period.

if you don't understand what i mean...then i would suggest you haven't really studied the issue...or you would understand.

There are several.
ESV....Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.

BSV...And the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; so they sewed together fig leaves and made coverings for themselves.

BLV...And the eyes of the two of them were opened, and they knew that they werenaked, and they sewed together leaves of the fig tree and made for themselves loincloths.

New KJV....TThen the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they werenaked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

NASB...Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves waist coverings.

Amplified bible...Then the eyes of the two of them were opened [that is, their awareness increased], and they knew that they were naked; and they fastened fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

That's six...one more than you posted. In fact you you can go here for more.

I said "nat huh" for a reason. I just provided you with a number of verses that said "they new they were naked"

I am giving you an opportunity to rephrase and or explain your self better.

They knew they where naked AFTER the fall. Which is why the hid from God. That's not what is being discussed here or is it? are you really that confused? or are you looking for any red herring you can find to throw this discussion off topic? Let's go back to look at what started this whole mess. I said:

2. gen 2 says Adam and Eve lived together in the garden and did not see each other as being naked. and Gen 3 records that they did not have any children till after the fall/exile from the garden. So then how is it that God expected them to go fourth and multiply? How could they conquer the world and subdue it if it where only the two of them and they where stuck in a garden? How could they fill the earth with other people if they did not even see each other as being naked/couldn't have children?
Then you:

Lets answer your questions....
1. Adam and Eve lived together in the garden and did not see each other as being naked. You seemed to have assigned reading between the lines context to what the following means..."and they knew that they were naked". What does "they knew that they were naked" mean? Please provide a biblical verse or two to support your meaning to show you're simply not reading between the lines an inserting your personal view.

They did not Know they where naked till after the fall. My claim was they did not know they where naked while living in the garden together. I clearly concede that they knew they where naked after the fall, because I literally quote the passage that has Adam admit to God that He was naked and was ashamed.

I said "nat huh" for a reason. I just provided you with a number of verses that said "they new they were naked"
what say you now, that you've been corrected?

There are several answer...I don't think your answer is the correct one....though it seems to be changing.
Some suggest they saw shame in their nakedness. Perhaps liken to a 2 year old running around buck naked and not really knowing it.....but by the time they get older, they know.
Some say they were dressed in "light" prior to the fall.

Besides that, I gave you more verses than you gave me.

Great, why?

They did. gen 3:7 literally says that: 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

So prior to this they where naked and did not see themselves to be naked. Then they ate the fruit and for the first time saw themselves as being naked. Because they saw themselves as naked they sew fig leaves together.
Perhaps liken to a 2 year old running around buck naked and not really knowing it.
This is exactly what I was saying. they where naked (but like a 2 year old) did not see themselves as being naked.
....but by the time they get older, they know.
No getting older was not the reason they saw themselves as being naked.. Chapter 3 verse 7 says the after they ate of the fruit of knowledge it opened their eyes.
Some say they were dressed in "light" prior to the fall.
Even if some do say that, the Bible doesn't. the Bible says they where naked but not ashamed. If they where naked and not ashamed it means they could see teachers nakedness. The shame did not happen till after they ate the fruit and their eyes where opened.
Besides that, I gave you more verses than you gave me.
The verses you gave all point to their knowledge of each other's nakedness after the fall.

I explain this in my last post to you.

I said Adam and Eve did not see each other as being naked WHILE LIVING TOGETHER IN THE GARDEN.
ALL of the verses you sent me said they saw each other as being naked AFTER their sin. That "the tree 's fruit open their eyes." Meaning they did not live together in the garden with knowledge of their nakedness.
