And WHAT IS ACTS 16:15 SAYING. TO YOU. ??

No, I'm not disputing Acts 1:5. But it is the presence of pneumati that makes it baptism in the Holy Spirit, while places without specification carry the implication of water being used. Baptism in Acts 1:5 is an analogy/metaphor because the pouring out of the Spirit at Pentacost was akin to being submersed. Using acts normatively is highly questionable, because it is a descriptive book so we can't generalize in a straightforward manner.
And it seems more like Your answer is Eristic !!

Comfort attributes to God the design of the Cavendish banana. But it was designed by the humans who bred it to be useful for humans.

And his little buddy Kirk tries a bit of dishonesty by selectively quoting Darwin about the human eye. The part that Kirk cut out of the quote is:

“When it was first said that the sun stood still and the world turned round, the common sense of mankind declared the doctrine false; but the old saying of Vox populi, vox Dei, as every philosopher knows, cannot be trusted in science. Reason tells me, that if numerous gradations from a simple and imperfect eye to one complex and perfect can be shown to exist, each grade being useful to its possessor, as is certainly the case; if further, the eye ever varies and the variations be inherited, as is likewise certainly the case; and if such variations should be useful to any animal under changing conditions of life, then the difficulty of believing that a perfect and complex eye could be formed by natural selection, though insuperable by our imagination, should not be considered as subversive of the theory.”

Darwin's prediction was eventually confirmed. We see all graduations of eyes. We even have living examples of such graduations in a number of phyla.

Nice try, Kirk.

Noem Reveals 2 ICE ‘Raid Leakers’ Have Been Identified Within The DHS

This administration is waging a lawless and wicked war against the Republic, and anyone who--peacefully--stands in the way of what they are doing is demonstrating their patriotic duty.
Seems a bit over the top. There isnt any lawlessness, just law enforcement which has been lacking for some time. There is no war against rhe Republic. The republic is in good shape as Congress is still functioning as is Supremem Court. Voters are still voting, laws abd bills are still being created and the courts are still ruling.

Standing in the way of immigration law enforcement is criminal. It is not a patriotic duty to prevent LE from doing their duty to enforce immigration law. Immigration law has NOT been found to be unconstitutional and neither has enforcement action been found such.

Donald Trump IS 'Getting Impeached,' former White House ethics chief predicts: 'it's happening

why are you now responding to a post from 2019?

There are much more current issues than the vast numbers that have supported Trump, his family and his campaigns with cash, goods and indirect support.
Sorry, I didn’t see the date on the post.

Long Distance Funeral Plans

I'll add a different Christian perspective that others don't seem to be addressing.

First, as the husband of your wife, I don't think she should be overuling your preference for cremation, nor can I see any Biblical reason not to do so. I understand the shared discussions on where to be buried (together) and what kind of grave stone to have, but what's underground as a body or ashes should not be cause for dispute.

Second, I would dismiss any cause she gives against cremation based upon her church beliefs or traditions (versus any Biblical cause that I'm not aware of).

Third, if you're an unbeliever, it won't matter that your wife overseas a Catholic funeral upon your passing. But if you're a Christian, it should matter a lot - that you not do so.

Fourth, be aware that you can offer up your organs before cremation; I just specified that for myself in my living will.

Personally, I think it's nice to have a grave to go to if you have anyone left in the world who cares to visit it, but the choice of cremation or not shouldn't matter to anyone except maybe yourself. Cremation's significantly cheaper, and in your case, the transportation issue makes it even more practical.

CBS News investigation of Jeffrey Epstein jail video reveals new discrepancies

You're intentionally acting obtuse. I was obviously talking about MSM steering away from being dishonest.
In this case, it is not the MSM being dishonest about the "unedited" Epstein prison tape, so who is being intentionally obtuse here? This is an unforced error from Trump's administrations both prior and current.

Dividing of the Land

Unbelieving Jews are not the seed of Abraham (Jn 8:44, Ro 2:28-29, 9:6-8, Gal 4:24-26, 30-31, Php 3:3), and no longer inherit any promise to Abraham.

The Jews are disinherited and completely cut off from the promise to Abraham--just as God disinherited (Ge 17:18-21) and completely cut off (Ge 21:10-14) Ishmael from the promise to Abraham (Ro 9:6-7, Gal 3:16, 4:25-26, 30-31--because of their unbelief and rejection of the Gospel for the Law (Ro 9:30-33, Gal 3:18, 22).

The NT shows that not all the seed of Abraham inherited the promise to Abraham, but only the seed born of the promise; i.e., Isaac (Ro 9:6-8), which was a type of the only seed of Abraham inheriting the promise being the children born of THE promise (Ge 15:5); i.e., born of Jesus Christ (Gal 3:16, 29, 4:22-31) who is the promise (Ge 3:5, 12:3, 18:18, 22:18, 26:4); thereby
leaving no promise to Abraham remaining to the Jews, just as God left no promise of Abraham remaining to Ishmael (Gal 4:30), and
shutting up all promises in Jesus Christ (2 Co 1:20, Gal 3:16), just as God shut up all the promises in Isaac (Ro 9:6-9).

Only the son of Sarah (the new covenant, Gal 4:30) inherits the promise.

Part-time Pennsylvania police officer (& youth monitor at delinquent fac.) arrested after taking inappropriate photos, videos of children at YMCA

Part-time Pennsylvania police officer arrested after taking inappropriate photos, videos of children at YMCA

[A mom confronts him.] However, the man denied taking any pictures or videos, refused to identify himself and refused to show his phone. The mother then reported the incident to the YMCA lifeguards, who approached the suspect and asked for identification.

The lifeguard said the suspect refused to identify himself, but instead showed his police badge.

Investigators said the videos appeared to be taken by Mackrell, who can be heard making sexual comments about the juveniles in multiple videos.

According to the affidavit, Mackrell also serves as a youth monitor at Abraxas Academy, a multi-service facility offering secure residential treatment and detention services in Morgantown, Pennsylvania.

Two-thirds of Americans think Trump is covering up Epstein evidence

And this. People don't buy it...
We now live in an age where uncomfortable truth can be blown off as fake. That is one result of pervasive lies.
When the constantly come from a populist truth gets ignored. But it still exists. Will it find a way back into our hearts?

That is a question really for all of us. How do we deal with truths that we do not like or want?

Do we reject them?

About healing.

It would be interesting to know the people, if they exist, who live in "perfect harmony" as to get every whim, wish and prayer granted by our Father.
Thanks for sharing!

Be blessed.

We are full of defects, i don't think we need to have 'perfect armony' to receive from God, Jesus died for us, we just need to have His Holy spirit like the disciples, because it says 'and you will receive power when the Holy spirit comes to you', and keep seeking God the bible promises God responds when we pray and cry out to him. But even the prophets etc, didn't get 'every whim' i think.

Does Richard Dawkins Ph. D. find "The Anthropic Principle" scary or intimidating?

Are you saying its like an open question when evaluating phenomena as it what is fundemental reality. That each will have an epistemic basis which is premised on certain assumptions that are not themselves verifiable by science or logic or empiricle evidence.

Ok I will check it out and sounds interesting as I have researched this area. Kuhn is a pioneer on this with his ideas on paradigm shifts and how they come about. But I have read some good modern takes as well.

I found this paper informative as well

Naturalism and Science

I am not sure what you mean. Do you mean that whatever fundemental reality is this remains the same and is not an ontological truth for any particular paradigm worldview.

Is it though I wonder. I think the massive success and immercion within the teach age has itself had an affect that causes people to assume a truth about the power of science as the only way to know reality.

Its subtle and even subliminal. When we hear of new disciveries its seen as revealing something true about fundemental reality. Certain theories are taught and spoke as facts.

I don't think we can seperate the scientist from the science. A bit like we cannot seperate the observer from the observed. I think there will be a metaphysical aspect that will be closely followed that people cannot help but influence the way they measure, what they chose to measure and what they choose to highlight.

Its a pity because I think even just being open I think is healthy and positive. So long as you use your reason. Sometimes that reason lead to a more holistic view which can open up possibilities that may give some answers.

And I think ironically this point has come despite and because of the accummulation of knowledge and tech. As though 'ok we have tried all that and its not meeting our expectations or understanding of what constitutes reality'.

After decades of tech and science this has actually accentuated that there is something more beyond the material world. I think both from the amazing world it has opened up but also because as a result our conscious awareness has increased.

I remeber a lecture maybe from Jordan Peterson on Postmodernism. There was one school of thought that pioneered this line of thinking. But I can't remember who that was. I know Nietzsche is one but he comes a little later. I think maybe the Frankfurt school of philosophy such as

I think initially a critique in the arts and literature which was redefining the rules about what is real. But I think it really took off from feminism which coined the phrase "the political has become the personal". Feminism and the critical theories and I think especially queer theory are about performance and narratives as the basis for reality. Making self referential truths reality and even trumping objective reality.

Science and empiricle evidence becomes only one way to see reality and even said to be a tool for imposing a certain worldview on others such as Indigenous peoples and minorities. Thats where I think Marxism comes in as this seen as westernised science through colonialism and imposition.

Or just being open. That is one thing I noticed with Dawkins that he was guarded and seemed to want to stick in a narrow lane. Not even entertaining the slightest crossing a rigid line of empiricalism.

To me I think a scientist should be able to play philosopher and entertain alternative ideas and perspectives. To be able to step back into the paradigm and know it is just one of many. In that sense Dawkins could say he realises that science or methodlogical naturalism is just one way to know reality and may be the wrong basis in the greater scheme of things.

Yeah I think in some ways theres a degree of Gnosticism or Mysterism.

I think when you compare Dawkins almost old school evolution compared to for example the extended evolutionary synthesis there such a difference. Dawkins seems very gene centric whereas modern evolution has branched into for example evolutionary psychology and the behavioural sciences.

Which expand the possible influences for evolutionary change. In fact when we introduce these aspects of behaviour it brings in the question of agency and therefore consciousness. Which is near impossible to explain in mere reductionist physical processes. Maybe why he doesn't go there.

Thats interesting you connect Aquinas and Paul. I can see some similarities in the sort of metaphyics of the spiritual and the carnal flesh. But also Gnosticism lol. Maybe they go too far. There still needs to be some grounding.

Yes

I have been keeping tabs on the JWT and its absolutely amazing what they are finding. That we can see so far back is unbelievable.

A quote or rather an idea John Wheeler had with his "Participatory Anthropic Principle" was a universe that was slowly awakening to itself. That we as conscious observers are actually creating the universe and reality. What we thought the universe and its beginning was 100 years ago is completely different and what we are discovering at break neck speed is changing our understanding again.

In that sense each new understanding and paradigm is a new reality worldview we are living within and always updating. Which is like we are creating and also discovering our universe and reality. This was one of the outcomes of findings from quantum physics and I think has led to an almost explosion of such ideas.

Steve, you are so confused. Moreover, I already have Thomas B. Fowler's book, The Evolution Controversy, and I've had it for about 15 years. But thanks anyway for the link to one of his articles.

God Sees Not as Man Sees

In context, God had rejected Saul from being king over Israel, and he had now chosen David, one of the sons of Jesse to be king, only Samuel did not yet know which son of Jesse that God had chosen. So, when he first looked at Jesse’s son Eliab he thought, “Surely the Lord’s anointed is before Him.”

“But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’” (1 Samuel 16:7 NASB1995)

And this is a very important lesson for us to learn from, too. For so many people do make judgments of other people, for good or for evil, based on outward appearance only, without consideration of who they might be in reality, in heart, in mind, and in soul. For some people are very good at performing in front of an audience, and at giving off whatever impression they want people to believe about them, whether true or not true. And so outwardly they may appear all goodness, but inwardly not be good at all.

Some people who are physically attractive, charming, articulate, well read, intelligent, gifted at public speaking, who may have particular credentials and diplomas which give them credibility, outwardly may appear to be “good Christians.” For they know how to speak the lingo, and they have been instructed in all the right things to do and to say in order to gain popularity among the people. But in reality, they are like the Pharisees. They are hypocrites who profess one thing outwardly, but while they live another.

And then there may be people who are lacking in charm and book smarts and credentials and diplomas, who do not say all the right things to all the right people so that people will like them and follow them. They have no titles before their names which give them credibility in today’s world. They are not well known, not popular, and not public speakers. But they love Jesus with their whole being, and their lives are committed to serving him with their lives. And they may be among the discarded and the rejected.

And so the lesson here for us all is to not make judgments of other people based on things outwardly that appear good, which may not be good. Don’t raise up people with diplomas and certain credentials thinking that they are godly people just because they have a title of “Reverend” or pastor before their names, and they have studied Greek and they have a seminary degree, or just because they are called a missionary, or an elder, or a deacon, etc. Titles don’t make people who they are. What’s in their hearts does.

So, don’t go by appearance and prestige and charm or education and titles. Pray for spiritual discernment when you listen to anyone preach or teach the Scriptures. And test what they are teaching against the Scriptures, taught in their appropriate biblical context. For many preachers these days are teaching Scriptures out of context and are twisting their words to make them say what they do not say if taught in the correct biblical context. And they are leading many people astray with their lies and deceptions. So..

Be students of the Scriptures yourselves, who study them in context, and who are putting the word of God into practice in your daily lives. For the Scriptures do not teach that we can just pray a prayer to receive Christ and now all our sins are forgiven, and we are guaranteed heaven when we die, but regardless of how we live. By faith in Christ, which comes from God, we die to sin and obey his commandments, in practice. But if sin is what we practice, and not obedience to God, we will not inherit eternal life with God.

[Matthew 7:13-14,21-23; Luke 9:23-26; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; Romans 2:5-10; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; Galatians 5:16-24; Ephesians 4:17-32; Ephesians 5:3-6; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 12:1-2; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 1:1-10; 1 John 2:3-6; 1 John 3:4-10; Revelation 2:1-29; Revelation 3:1-22]

Bombs are bursting. Night is falling.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Trust Him with your life today.
Make Him your Lord and your Savior.
Turn from your sin. Follow Jesus.
He will forgive you of your sin;
Cleanse your heart, made new within.

Men betraying: Our trust fraying.
On our knees to God we’re praying,
Seeking God to give us answers
That are only found in Him.
God is sovereign over all things.
Nothing from His mind escaping.
He has all things under His command,
And will work all for good.

Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.

Men deceiving: We’re believing
In our Lord, and interceding
For our nation and its people
To obey their God today.
He is our hope for our future.
For our wounds He offers suture.
He is all we need for this life.
Trust Him with your life today.
