  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Jesus really suffered.

Jesus really suffered during his time on earth. His suffering was never to be in vain as we can all share in his triumph. The last days that Jesus spent on this earth were to be his greatest time of pain as he was tortured and belittled by many his very last cry to his father was why have you...

[Introduction] XeroXipher -- Road to Christianity

Hello. My name is Peter Cloutier Jabalee. Age: 30 --When I was 14 I was asked, "Do you believe in God?" and I responded, "No, I wish I could believe, but it's too hard." I did believe in Hell, but not God, I feared Hell. --At 19 I moved out on my own and met this overly religious girl. She...

Grieving the Holy Spirt and he Finally leaves

So I read some forums about people who thought they had grieved the Holy Spirit. And im just seeing if anyone else has gone through this. I dont have a yearning. That presence in my heart is not there anymore. It's like I Know that I know that the Holy Spirit left me. I'm not sure if hell come...

Would you ask God, for a religion? (I'm just shooting the breeze here)

Hi there, So I posted something about religion that got mixed results and I had a concept that was sort of relevant - would you create a religion? - being relevant tangentially. Partially my motive is just to work out, whether there is a way to tell between true and false religion - true...

Christ grows more sensitive, to sin - not less!

Hi there, So for all you backsliders out there, consider for a moment what you are really losing, when it comes to the Lord and sin. You are not surprising God, in turning from one sin to another and forgetting Him. There is no point at which God says "I have been mindful of sin, but now as the...

Why does God not introduce a *new* forbidden fruit?

Hi there, This is just a talking point, that proves I've read the Bible from a critical point of view. The question is this: I don't want to prejudice the conversation, so I will wait to see how people approach this question, before writing further. If you need something to go on, maybe...

Syncopating competing "evolutions", can't happen without "design"

Hi there, So, simple truth: The idea is simply this: if you have differing members of a species, all intent on winning the same mate, that mate won't be able to bond with a particular member (of the species) without a) comparing her design with his, b) prompting his design with hers and c)...

    Keep your distance

Hello everyone, As I was deleting my previous post on social media, I was thinking about how it is ridiculous that I am doing so. I was wishing my fiancee's uncle a happy birthday from my fiancee's cousin's page when I remembered that him and his family don't want me calling him uncle even...

    Insight/advice

I started practicing meditation and all the new age bologna, and it very quickly brought me right to God. "knock, and He will answer" indeed. So in the meditations, or prayer, He sometimes shows me great images, or teaches me amazing lessons. It is hard to explain to people, when I try, it's...

God’s faith in us matters more than our faith in God.

What do you think of this article, 'Stronger than my doubts.’ God’s faith in us matters more than our faith in God. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.kentucky.com/opinion/paul-prather/article251702903.html

No lesson, needs be learned ad infinitum; no Evolution, needs be engaged ad differens

Hi there, In other words, you don't get to Heaven and get told "there is one more lesson, that you absolutely must learn. Neither do you find a place on Earth, where you realise that you absolutely must evolve further. Learning as a Man or engaging in an evolutionary way are neutral to the...

Are there any references in the OT that resolve the premise "The Son of God = God"

For example, if one was to ask a Jew in the first century (prior to 100 A.D) if the Son of God = God... and, knowing that the Jew would have used old testament scriptures for their doctrine, did they believe this doctrine as a religious movement? I would like biblical references or even any...

Wait. So you're saying if a selection pressure is greater than the Devil, the Devil will evolve?

Hi there, So this is bordering on untestable conjecture, but I thought it might be helpful, just as an exercise (sort of like philosophy has "thought experiments", they're not strictly science but they are helpful). You see, the current design of "Evolution" supposes that everything is...

Wait. So if I asked you, to have children, in the name of "my" Evolution - you couldn't do it?

Hi there, So, this is just a simple fact about receiving: if you ask, you receive. So, if I ask you to have children in the name of "my" Evolution - you have to at least give me an answer why not? I mean, you would raise them and they would call you 'parent', but the exact meaning of that word...

This is why we have so many denominations: its not the truth, unless everyone sees it differently

Hi there, So a foundational truth: This is why we have so many denominations of Churches, we are all trying to express the truth, more and more differently - that is, for the sake of the truth. In reality, there could be more and more differences, different names for Churches at different...

Repost of Prayer request for difficult relationship

I am someone who values every single person and appreciates the uniqueness of each individual and try to show Christ like love to everyone. Yet recently I have not always been executing behavior in Christ-like fashion. Admittedly I am a Moron when it come to people. I think I show kindness and...

A species' members all face the same selection pressure, which is better: full response or halved?

Hi there, So this thread is going to expose my bias, to a significant degree: because basically I feel like a choice should be made, even with little reason to change anything. I'll give you the example in the thread title: a species' members all face the same selection pressure, should they...

Promise me, that if Evolution doesn't work out, you will come back to considering "Creation"?

Hi there, So just a thought for what our priorities, are, here. You have decided one way or the other, to give Evolution a try... you have decided that the weight of evidence favours species that change over time, one can only assume in a way that is deistic, if it is to prove better than the...

What about aphantasia? Is not being able to visualise, good or bad - according to Evolution?

Hi there, So I really want to understand, how this works: take Aphantasia (the inability to visualise), which selection pressures influence whether it is a good or bad thing? Is someone who can't visualize freer to adapt? Or does it force Evolution to reboot - a bad thing? I mean if you believe...
