Hello you and welcome this will be a informational thread about the walk of the believer. TCR is short for Thompson Chain Reference. For your clarity will be using NASB1977 translation, and also New Living Translation. This is for believers; whom are still babes in Christ; or mature and it is a reminder for all of us. (As believers we do not expect babes to know everything, but may you grow and ask God to give you increase to your individual faith).

New Life
Romans 6:4 There for we have buried with Christ through baptism into death, in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father so we too might walk into newness of life.

This is a scripture from Romans 6 as you can see, before hand Paul asked the question shall we go on sinning so that Gods grace shall abound? Paul says and states God forbid.

Being buried with Christ is a term of dying to ourselves and our own ways of how we lived our life before ever coming to the Cross of Christ; and accepting the Lord Jesus Christ into our heart, and being raised again with Christ; as the Father raised Christ Jesus from the dead. Meaning that believers are raised into being resurrected with Christ in being spiritually reborn; giving new life to the believer. They now have a new life in Christ; by the holy spirit/spirit of Christ living with-in them.

What was our old former life like?

Lets look at what Jesus Christ said about our fleshly heart in Mark Chapter 7: 20 And then he added, “It is what comes from inside that defiles you. 21 For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. 23 All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you.”

As you can see it is very clear what our flesh is like, our heart and the thoughts that proceed from it.

What does being raised with Christ look like?

Galatians 5:22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there.
Faith
2 Corinthians 5:7 - For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Here we have a scripture from Paul making a statement to the Church of Corinth, that we walk by faith, not by sight. If you look up faith in the Greek you will find the word Pistis. It means Gods Divine Persuasion; to the believer. It's a willful persuasion of promises that come from God through the Lord Jesus Christ when He is going around teaching the nation of Israel; the lost sheep of Israel. When you go and read what the Lord Jesus Christ has to say that is a offer from God of the promises that are made you. You can willfully make a decision to believe or not to believe. Which is called faith, also trust, confidence in God who is a deliverer.

Spirituality
Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.

What did we just go over above in Mark 7? What does Jesus Christ say about our desires of the flesh? 21 For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. 23 All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you.”

But - if we walk by the spirit? What happens? The flesh slowly dies away, when you are feeding the on the word of God that is provided for us to learn about Yahweh, with the Lord Yeshua Christ. Believer do not live on bread alone, but every word that proceeds from the mouth of Yahweh.

Consistency
Ephesians 4:1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling in which you have been called.

This is Paul writing to the Ephesians to encourage them to continue to walk in a manner worthy of the calling which you have been called. If you are a believer in Christ Jesus; it is clear we are to walk and serve God, and to Love God, and to Love our Fellowman. In walking in a manner that is worthy. What would be the best suggestion from scripture to help us in our walk? To walk in faith, by the spirit, trusting God, and praying and learning about Gods Son our Lord Yeshua Christ.

Caution
Ephesians 5:15 Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise men.
Colossians 2:6 And now just as you accepted Christ Jesus your Lord, you must continue to follow Him 7. Let your roots grow down into Him and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

This right here is a huge chunk of our walk with God, and the Lord Yeshua. Let your lives be built on Christ. Build on the already laid foundation a house for yourself in trusting in God and the Lord Jesus Christ. If you abide in the vine, your faith will grow strong in the truth. You will overflow with thankfulness if you continue to follow Him. That is a choice on your part. You can either walk as wise men, or unwise men or women. That choice is totally up to you friend in Christ.

Light
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as Yahweh Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

What would this ultimately mean for a believer? To walk in love, and in the light. Not the darkness of hating one another. Let the light come into your heart to break away all the darkness that has held you back for so long if their is darkness there. No one can be perfect in the fleshly sense but in a spiritual sense people can become mature in faith, I do believe.

Never let go of the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ; always continue to pray and call out to the Father for He is a God of deliverance.

Christlikeness
1 John 2:6 the one who says he abides in God ought to himself walk as Christ did.

This is another reminder of if anyone says they love God yet hate their brother they are in darkness. Christ did not hate anyone. Walk as Christ did, in mercy, forgiveness, love, forbearance. Walk knowing that the spirit of Christ is in you.

Hope this is helpful to your walk as a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ, and our Father in heaven.

- With love GallagherM.
