  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's the "orthodox" view of the law of Christ?

Creation was not left unfinished. After six days of the creation work on this world as shown, God said of it that it is very good, God never said that in the Bible of anything made by God again. All of it was meant for us and all living in the world. And it would be right to consider the seventh day for rest to be right for us too, as the Sabbath is to point to the days of creation and the seventh for rest afterward. The rest needed is that in Christ which is the only way Sabbath is rightly observed.

God's appointed times and days! (Leviticus 23) Parasha: "Emor"

I asked you an important question. I don't believe we are in a "Land" that "Keeps the Sabbaths of the Lord yet". If that is true, that leaves 2 relevant Sabbaths in our time, and certainly in theirs. You have provided verses and interpretations promoted by "Orthodox Jews", almost word for word as any search into their religious traditions can see.

And yet by your own words "why do the Orthodox Jews always observe Nisan 16 as day one of the Omer". And you went to their Rabbis to answer this question, and you are promoting the Scriptures "they use" and the interpretations "they use" to justify their religious tradition.

In the same way someone would ask, "Why do the Catholics observe and promote Good Friday?" And if you went to their teachers, they too would promote a few Scriptures and teach their interpretation of Scripture to justify their tradition.

Had you asked the question, "Why do the Karaite Jews start the Omer on the day after the first weekly Sabbath during Feast of Unleavened Bread?" Then you if went to their teachers, they would explain "with Scriptures" why they don't agree with the interpretations of Scripture promoted by the Orthodox Jews who promote the Oral Traditions and interpretations of Scriptures set forth in the Talmud.

There is no "2 days of Passover" in the Book of Moses. But there is in the Talmud that the Orthodox Jews promote.

To say the traditions of the Orthodox Jews are of no interest to you, is a direct contradiction of your own words.

Yes, 14 Nisan, Wednesday that year. He was placed in the grave before Sundown which signifies the end of Passover, and the Beginning of the High Sabbath, the First Day of Unleavened Bread. There is no "2 Days of Passover" in Scriptures, but there is in some Jewish Traditions. The teaching that the Omer count started when Messiah was still dead, on Nisan 16 doesn't align with the purpose of the Feast in the First place, in my understanding. I don't believe this is what the Holy scriptures teach.

An important truth to consider here. There were 2 Weekly Sabbaths and 1 High Sabbath before the Prophesied Resurrection of the Messiah, in the Nisan. You keep promoting the Talmud that teaches about the "First Sabbath", yet Nisan 16 was not the "First Sabbath" in Nisan. And the Christ Rose from the Dead on the Weekly Sabbath, 3 days and 3 nights from the time HE was placed in the Tomb on Passover. Why would the Omer Count, that was all about the Prophesied Messiah and His Influence on the First Church of God under HIS New Priesthood "After the Order of Melchizedek", start on the "morrow after a High Sabbath", when HE was still dead? And not start the "morrow after the Holy, Sanctified and Set Apart Weekly Sabbath, that we both know HE was raised on? It is the first Weekly Sabbath of the 7 day feast. It is the First Sabbath the Resurrected Christ lived in, It was after this Sabbath that Mary went to the Grave. She didn't take a taxi John. I'm sure it took her quite awhile to get there. Shall I not consider these things? Or should I just adopt the views and interpretations of one of many different Jewish Sects that exists in the world God placed me in.

This is the crux f our disagreement.

Absolutely, the Lord's Christ rose on the Weekly Sabbath, just before sundown. No argument here.

First of all, your blatant misrepresentation of my posts is getting old. You are either not reading my post, or you are purposely being deceitful. I never said any such thing. Go back and read my post, and show me if you can, where I said she arrived at the grave at sundown on the Weekly Sabbath. Please resist the urge to engage in this kind of discourse. I'm just an old cowboy, and a fighter at heart. I understand the urge more than most. But isn't the entire purpose of Passover, Feast of UB, and Feast of Weeks to reveal the New Man, which after God is created in Righteousness and true Holiness? Let's rule over these fleshy urges.

So far, you are just preaching down to me, like the Pharisees did to Jesus and Peter. Like the Catholic Priests do to the Protestants. Like the Protestants do to each other.

I have asked you some questions, and made the case against the religious traditions of the Talmud Promoters whose scriptural interpretations you have adopted.

I tried to bow out of the discussion, seeing the direction it was talking. You insisted that the discussion continue. You have adopted the Popular Jewish tradition, to start the Omer Count after the First Day of Unleavened Bread, and not the Weekly Sabbath that the Christ Rose on.

Your adopted traditions are certainly more popular than my understanding of Scriptures. I might be wrong, and perhaps you are right, that God wasn't able to preserve His Truth in the Holy Scriptures available to the whole world since 1611. That I must turn to the modern Pharisees of today, and their scriptural interpretations, religious traditions, judgments and high days, to know God.

Nevertheless, I will not adopt their traditions, and you seem determined to promote them.

So it seems that there is no point in continuing this discussion.

Thank you for sharing.
Since you can't Biblically prove anything you say (no verses, no dates, etc) but you only talk about the Talmud and your anti-jewish/semetic comments, it is so clear you want to drop out of the discussion by pointing the finger. I was glad that God gave me the opportunity to teach you you his word. Good-bye.
You keep promoting the Talmud that teaches about the "First Sabbath",
Here is another of many of your false accussations. Maybe the Talmud does teach "First Sabbath" in Matt 28:1. I have never read the Talmud. I have said the Peshitta in ancient Aramaic written by the apostles says "First of the Sabbaths". So does the Catholic Vulgata, So does the Greek, So does the Reina and the Valera which where translated and corrupted into the King James. I never once spoke about the Talmud but now I will research it and see if what you say is true. If it is I will add it to my list of ancient original texts.

Baltimore On Track for Fewest Murders Since 1970

Well well well... I mean the source is a document in a custody battle, where things get nasty, but FWIW:

ICE agent who killed L.A. man accused of child abuse, racism in court filings (agent denies it all)

The off-duty federal immigration agent who shot and killed a Los Angeles man on New Year’s Eve allegedly whipped his sons with a belt and made racist and homophobic remarks in the past, according to documents obtained by The Times.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officer Brian Palacios shot Keith Porter Jr. late on Dec. 31 at a Northridge apartment complex,
Still info coming from a domestic dispute, but

ICE agent who killed L.A. man allegedly threatened criminal charges over being identified

A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent who shot and killed a Los Angeles man on New Year’s Eve allegedly threatened his girlfriend’s ex-husband with criminal prosecution over his name being made public, according to a restraining order application and an audio recording reviewed by The Times.

The ICE agent, Brian Palacios, was first identified by The Times in January as being responsible for the killing based off of court filings in a custody dispute. Palacios was off duty when he shot Keith Porter Jr. in a Northridge apartment complex. The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police said a rifle was recovered from Porter on the night he was killed. Some of Porter’s friends have suggested he was shooting the weapon into the air to celebrate the new year. Federal authorities said in the immediate aftermath of the incident that the ICE agent was responding to a suspected “active shooter” when he opened fire. Palacios’ attorney has said he acted in self-defense.

Halpern has said that Palacios returned to duty within a few weeks of the shooting. The agent has since moved out of the apartment complex.

How is the Economy Doing Right Now?

The Commerce Department revealed on Thursday that inflation increased to 3.8% in April, the highest it has been since May 2023. The latest bad economic news follows a performance by President Donald Trump during a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday where he repeatedly downplayed how Americans are hurting under his presidency.

The rate of inflation was up from the 3.5% measured in March and was attributed to increased costs for staples like gas, groceries, electricity, and clothing.

For context, when Trump was sworn into office in January 2025, the inflation rate was 2.6% and had been declining over the last two years of President Joe Biden’s time in office.

....all of which are directly related to the actions of Donald J. Trump: Tariffs & War...neither of which were approved by the Congress.

Judas then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was "night"...

Peace in Christ.

Again, the original apostles did not eat any man’s bread for nothing but they did work with “labor and travail” night and day.

"Labor" = Greek: kopos - From G2875; a cut, that is, (by analogy) toil (as reducing the strength), literally or figuratively; by implication pains: - labour, + trouble, weariness

"Travail" = Greek : mochthos - From the base of G3425; toil with difficulty, that is, (by implication) sadness: - painfulness, travail.

In other words, they worked by the sweat of their brow (with labor and travail) so as not to be chargeable to any.

2Th 3:8-10
(8) Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:

They did forgo that power…that right….that privilege…that authority… to preach and make a living off those whom they preached to. They are THE (definite article) example to follow.

They are not “an” example….but “THE” example....to follow. They are the stamp or die. Their example to imitate is struck firm. There is no other option in this. We MUST follow them in their example.

(9) Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an (THE) ensample unto you to follow us.

The original apostles did command us to work with our own hands to support our own earthly necessities. This did they bind on earth (this earthly pursuit) on us who have our citizenship in heaven. This is directed especially towards those who preach to us today. Those who do not work with their own hands shall not "eat" of the Word of Truth. They shall have no understanding of it.

(10) For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

But many…a “great multitude”… are following in the example of Judas who did eat another’s bread for nothing. Like Judas, they became Satan’s ministers having received the “sop”….a crumb or morsel…a mouthful.

“sop” = Greek : psōmion - Diminutive from a derivation of the base of G5597; a crumb or morsel (as if rubbed off), that is, a mouthful: - sop.

The sop was “dipped” = Greek – bapto - A primary verb; to whelm, that is, cover wholly with a fluid; in the New Testament only in a qualified or specific sense, that is, (literally) to moisten (a part of one’s person), or (by implication) to stain (as with dye): - dip.

In other words, the sop….the mouthful of bread…was hard earned by others with labor and travail…by the sweat of their brow. It was “dipped.”

Judas….and those multitude who are following in his example…ate another’s hard-earned bread for nothing. After the sop, Satan entered him....and those who follow after his example.

Joh 13:25-27 KJV
(25) He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?

(26) Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
(27) And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.

The sop was dipped....in the sweat of the brow of others. The KJV puts it “in the sweat of your face shall you eat bread”.

Gen 3:19 KJV
(19) In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

When Judas having received the sop went out immediately and it was “night”. The multitude who are follow after the example of Judas also go out into the “night”…that is, they have no understanding of the gospel nor the Scriptures.

Joh 13:30 KJV
(30) He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.

It is “night” unto such pastors (who follow the example of Judas) who cry “peace” to those who will give food into their mouths. They are prophets who make His people to err for they do not have the Word of Truth in their preaching.

Mic 3:5-7 KJV

(5) Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.

“Night” shall be unto them. They have no understanding of the Scriptures. They shall not have “vision”….a revelation of what the Scriptures are truly saying. The Scriptures are “dark” to their minds.

They shall not “divine” which means “to distribute”.

In other words, they are not distributing the Word of Truth (that they have no understanding of) to anyone because the Scriptures are “dark” unto them. They cannot understand the Scriptures and so are not distributing truth to others (who are putting food into their mouths…a mouthful) that they are “preaching” to.

(6) Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.
(7) Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.

They do all things for reward…for hire…for money….and yet preach “peace” to those who are supporting them. “yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.” Like Judas, they do things for money's sake.

Mic 3:11 KJV
(11) The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.

The gospel is “hid” to their minds. It is “night” unto them. They do not have a revelation of it nor are they distributing the truth of the gospel to others. The god of this age…their belly that they are serving to fill…blinds their minds to the gospel of the glory of Christ. The gospel....the light of the knowledge of it... does not shine unto them as it is “night”. The “day” shall be dark over them.

2Co 4:3-5
(3) But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost (perishing) :

(4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

The original apostles did not preach themselves but did preach Christ Jesus the Lord.

They were “servants” to those they preached to for they worked with their own hands (by the sweat of their brow….with labor and travail) to support their own earthly necessities so that they may give the true knowledge of the gospel of the glory of Christ.

(5) For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

The original apostles were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel….the truth of the gospel. Those who follow THE example of the original apostles also are entrusted with the gospel.

Those who follow the example of Judas are not entrusted with the Word of Truth because they do things dishonestly for money's sake...for their covetousness. They handle the Word of God dishonestly and so it is "dark" unto their understanding.

1Th 2:3-6 KJV
(3) For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:
(4) But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
(5) For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness:
(6) Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.

We are to be followers of the original apostles who did work with their own hands to support their own earthly necessities. Paul is the example. We are to be “followers together” of him.

Php 3:17-19 KJV
(17) Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

Yet, MANY are not following their example. They follow after the example of Judas instead.

They walk as the enemies of the cross of Christ as they are preventing His life from being made manifest in the mortal flesh of those who they are “pastoring” because they have no understanding of the truth of the gospel. Their “god” is their belly...the god of this age.... that they are preaching to fill which blinds their minds to it. They are minding thier own earthly things as they “preach” to us…preaching themselves.

(18) (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

(19) Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

They preach themselves….shepherds who are feeding themselves literally but are not spiritually feeding those whom they are “pastoring.” The sheep are perishing because they are not feeding them with the Word of Truth of which they have no understanding of.

Eze 34:1-4 KJV
(1) And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
(2) Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?
(3) Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock.

(4) The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them

But God will deliver His flock from their mouth. He will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered (the denominations of the man-based churches). He will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the “cloudy and dark day” as their pastors who are supposedly “feeding” them spiritually are “darkened”. They do not have any understanding of the Word of Truth and so are not “feeding” anyone but themselves literally.

Eze 34:10-12 KJV
(10) Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.
(11) For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out.

(12) As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

Baby born prematurely and kept in sandwich bag now thriving at age 13

(Right to Life UK) — A premature baby boy who was born 13 weeks early and was put in a Tesco sandwich bag immediately after birth is now “thriving” thanks to doctors.

Baby Blake was born 13 weeks early when his mother, Lauren, was only 15 years old. Lauren’s water broke when she was only five months pregnant, and she remained in a slow labour for a further month afterwards.

During a check-up, doctors were unable to find baby Blake’s heartbeat; the umbilical cord had become caught, and circulation had been cut off. Lauren then had to have an emergency cesarean section birth.

Blake was successfully delivered, and doctors immediately put the premature baby into a Tesco-branded sandwich bag. Techniques like this are often used when babies are born prematurely or at a very low weight to help regulate their temperatures and keep them warm enough.

“Blake was taken straight to intensive care, so I didn’t get to see him before he was taken down. My mum saw him in the bag and told me about it, but I didn’t believe her until I saw it for myself”, Lauren said.

The charismatic movement: the good, the bad and the ugly

I've been to a charismatic Catholic mass a couple of times. Nothing happened with me (not spiritual enough? ... just kidding ... er, maybe). I'd think about going more often but the particular church is a long way from where I live, plus I would have to drive in peak hour traffic on a Friday night.

I think the issue with the charismatic movment is that once someone starts deep diving in spiritual matters, there is always a risk of demonic counterfeits. There was a revival in Wales in 1912. Numerous counterfeit phenomenae provoked Jesse Penn-Lewis to write a book "War on the Saints" which gave some clues as to how to discern the good spirits from the bad.

I asked my Presbyterian pastor once "How do you know up front if a particular spiritual experiences ... sensation ... insight etc. is from God or not?"

He hesitated for a moment and replied "You don't (know)".

When I related some of my experiences to another (Anglican) pastor he said to me "It's deep, isn't it!", without going into any more detail.

Another Presbyterian pastor who had a ministry with street kids said to me "There's a very strange psychic world out there".

The demonic realm can be very tricky, which means pentecostal churches need to be on their guard.
You know by discernment but I 100% agree with you. There are tons of instances I can give of demonic mimicry and I 100% believe that the vast majority of this, IS demonic mimicry. People dont understand that demons have power too. So just because you feel power, doesnt automatically mean its from God.

I look at it like this:
Gift of prophesy---> false prophets
Gift of speaking in tongues ---> I literally know of an instance of someone standing up to speak in tongues, but was cursing God instead.
Elijah called down fire from heaven ---> the false prophet in the trib can do the same thing.
And lets not forget that during the Exodus, the majority of the 10 plagues of Egypt could be mimicked too.

So I wouldnt even argue if people claim to be filled with something that feels powerful, but that automatically doesnt mean its God.

But to answer your question because Spiritual Warefare is my ministry, you CAN know which is which, God or not but it takes a lot of growth in understanding scripture, and God in general before you can adequately know the difference. Because its not about "feeling" its about understanding circumstances. Is it backed up by scripture? Is it something that God would promote or do? Then its from God. And rolling on the floor, making you look like you've lost your mind, isnt from God. That just makes you look nuts and will in no way get anyone actually saved.

Minds Poisoned Against Us

Acts 14:1-3 NKJV

1Now it happened in Iconium that they went together to the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke that a great multitude both of the Jews and of the Greeks believed. 2But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brethren. 3Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who was bearing witness to the word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

Faced with Opposition and Persecution

When we are walking in the ways of the Lord, in his truth and righteousness, in the power of God, as led by the Spirit of God, and so we are speaking to the people the truth of the gospel of Christ, undiluted, without compromise, we are bound to face opposition, rejection, slander, and persecution, even from many of our own people, many of whom profess faith in Jesus Christ. For so many people who profess faith in Jesus Christ are being taught lies, and they are believing the lies, and thus they are rejecting the truth that Jesus Christ and his New Testament apostles taught in biblical context.

And collectively they taught that to come to Christ we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. Therefore we are no longer to permit sin to reign in our mortal bodies to make us obey its desires. For if sin is what we obey, it results in death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, it results in sanctification, and its end is eternal life with God. (see Luke 9:23-26 and Romans 6:1-23 and the New Testament)

And if we are being mistreated and rejected because we are teaching the truth of the gospel that many do not want to hear, we can choose to leave and to go someplace else, or we can choose to remain and to keep speaking the truth to the people, knowing full well that we will be faced with opposition from many of those who are believing the lies which are being fed to them. The apostles did both, depending upon the severity of the persecution, I believe. For, at first they stayed for a long time even after being opposed, but they left when they were aware a stoning would be next.

And next they went to Lystra and Derbe. But in Lystra they were being worshipped as gods by the people because they had healed a man. But the apostles tore their clothes in grief, and they tried fervently to stop them from doing so. But then the Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there and persuaded the multitudes, and then they stoned Paul and left him for dead. But when the disciples of Christ gathered around him, he rose up and went into the city. And the next day Paul departed with Barnabas to Derbe.

Acts 14:21-22 NKJV

21And when they had preached the gospel to that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, 22strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”

Going Back to Where You Were

Do you see what this is saying here? The place where they had stoned Paul and left him for dead was in Lystra. And so what did he and Barnabas do? They returned to Lystra. Why? In order to strengthen the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”

So, have you ever been persecuted in a particular place, among a specific group of people, and so you left, but at a later time you went back, perhaps as led by the Holy Spirit, fully knowing that you might face the same kinds of persecution as you had before? I have done that at least twice that I am aware of. In both cases I did face some amount of persecution again, but not to the extent of the first round, and God has been able to use me in both places where I had previously been persecuted, so far. All glory to God!

But I have been persecuted and rejected by many people in multiple locations over my lifetime where God never sent me back, and for good reasons, too. So, sometimes the Lord says, “leave this place and don’t go back.” And other times he might encourage us to return to a place where we were previously persecuted, perhaps because something has changed, like maybe someone else is in charge, or they have changed their stance on some issues. And we must be willing to go back and trust the Lord to work it all out for his purposes and for his glory.

For we are not promised a life of ease and comfort. We are not promised that everyone will be kind to us and that we will never face being persecuted. In fact, we are promised the opposite of that, that we must go through many tribulations to enter the kingdom of God. For we are called to suffer for the sake of the name of Jesus and for the sake of his gospel message. Safe in the Arms of Jesus

By Frances J. Crosby and William H. Doane 1868

Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe on His gentle breast;
There by His love o’ershaded,
Sweetly my soul shall rest.
Hark! ’tis the voice of angels
Borne in a song to me,
Over the fields of glory,
Over the jasper sea.

Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe from corroding care,
Safe from the world’s temptations;
Sin cannot harm me there.
Free from the blight of sorrow,
Free from my doubts and fears;
Only a few more trials,
Only a few more tears!

Jesus, my heart’s dear Refuge,
Jesus has died for me;
Firm on the Rock of Ages
Ever my trust shall be.
Here let me wait with patience,
Wait till the night is o’er;
Wait till I see the morning
Break on the golden shore.

Young Catholics drive record crowds for Chartres Pilgrimage in France

The traditional Pentecost pilgrimage from Paris to Chartres in France once again drew a record crowd for its 44th edition, with nearly 20,000 people taking part in the three-day walk, compared with 19,000 in 2025.

Apologies Excepted

First, how many apologies does one need to offer in order for the offense to be expunged? All the way back to Pope Leo XIII in the 1880s, the popes have apologized. John Paul II apologized multiple times on his many trips to Africa. Now Pope Leo XIV. When will the apology finally be accepted—and by whom? The people whom this directly impacted are long dead, both perpetrators and victims. Or will we be apologizing until the end of time?

Second, when does the Catholic Church get to receive apologies? How about from the Italian government for the ancient Roman persecutions? The Mexicans for how they treated the Church in the 1920s? The formerly Communist bloc? The current regimes in China, Nigeria, and elsewhere? Why do people move on so quickly at the travesties that Catholics have had to endure throughout the centuries?

St. Joan of Arc Novena

May 29, Day 9

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Saint Joan of Arc, patroness of France, I ask you now to fight this battle with me by prayer, just as you led your troops to victory in battle.

You, who were filled with the Holy Spirit and chosen by God, help me this day with the favor I ask

(mention request here…)

Grant me by your divine and powerful intercession, the courage and strength I need to endure this constant fight.

Oh St Joan, help me to be victorious in the tasks God presents to me. I thank you and ask you for your continuing protection of God’s people.

Saint Joan of Arc, Pious daughter of the Church: Pray for me.

Our Father
Hail Mary x3
Glory be

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

On the meaning and applicability of 1 Timothy 2:12-14

In regards to marriage this is what the bible says
Matthew 19: 1-9

When Jesus had finished saying these things, he left Galilee and went into the region of Judea to the other side of the Jordan. Large crowds followed him, and he healed them there. Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”

“Haven’t you read,” he replied,
“that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a] and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

“Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”

Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

Becoming one flesh should not be taken lightly I think. This shows the significance of marriage and procreation. Its Gods creation and order. Its devine that two humans can become one flesh. Especially in an age where individual identity and rights rule above all else.

Chicago’s low seminary numbers contrast with Tyler’s vocations record

It's absolutely unbelievable that the USCCB doesn't connect the dots here. I know Strickland isn't the head of the Tyler Diocese anymore but as far as I know his legacy is still at work there with it's love for tradition. I'd be curious to see the vocations numbers diocese like San Francisco, Portland, or Cincinnati where the prelates are known to be friends of tradition because I'm sure they'd bear out proof that men are not only properly exposed to the priesthood when they should be but they're recognizing their calls and pursuing it in diocese where Catholicism is Catholic.

Obviously nobody wants to be a priest under Cupich in a diocese where parishes like St John Cantius are punished and St Sabina is allowed to exist.
May God allow many more men to enter the priesthood throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago and bless us with many more holy priests and bishops. God's will be done!

Very well said, brother!
