  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Trump says suspect in custody in killing of Charlie Kirk

Care to provide an example? Because I highly suspect January 6th had nothing to do with the shooter's motives for killing Kirk.
There are a boat load of examples that anyone could give about any variation of political position you'd like to consider where something was done or said that was wrong. But you chose not to. Your post was a plaintive cri de coeur from the right. 'Look what they do to us!' Oh, woe is you...

Again, it was perfect example of the one sided political partisanship that is the actual problem that you have that was the cause of this particular death. When you insist on an 'us v them' situation and the rhetoric is cranked up to 11 on both sides then you will get people at each extreme deciding that 'something needs to be done'.

You've seen the message from the forum when you logged on earlier. Someone had the good sense to warn everyone about it. That it actually needed to be said, to be spelled out, and in a Christian forum, should give you pause for thought.

False Preachers/Teachers

Probably going to get some flack for this, but in addition to the "usual suspects" of TV evangelists I find a lot of what Paul Washer teaches to be contrary to what I find in Scripture. Though I would stop short of accusing him, or any others, of being a "false teacher" as he and they are someone else's servants.

Nuns Escape Nursing Home To Return To Alpine Convent

What about the others still in the nursing home? It seems to me that humility and obedience and solidarity with the other “old people” would be a more faithful path.
Their community is their family. They are also required to pray the divine office and go to mass daily etc. it’s their way of life, pretty much.

Nuns Escape Nursing Home To Return To Alpine Convent

The nuns say they are determined to stay.
"Before I die in that old people's home, I would rather go to a meadow and enter eternity that way," said Sister Bernadette.

Yay, sisters!
I know there are monasteries that have their own nursing homes located on site, so the nuns and monks can die in their community when time comes. That personally makes sense to me.

MS-13 Gang Member Kilmar Abrego Garcia to be Deported to African Country of Eswatini

Drug dealer? Just send him home.
Rapist? Just send him home.
People smuggler? Just send him home.
That is what the Biden administration did for years. Only they were sent to their homes in the United States.

Trump says suspect in custody in killing of Charlie Kirk

Something I think that is flying over some heads...

If Charlie was full of hate, why would he spend time out of his day to go and debate with people he hated? He didn't yell at them. He calmly reasoned with them. Why risk his life to bring a message to people if he hates them? Aren't there more productive ways to hate people?

He started a grass roots organization to help young people. Is Turning Point hateful too? If so, where is the hate?

Now let's contrast the supposed hate Charlie had for others with the hate that caused a young man to decide the answer was to shoot Charlie.

See the difference? If not, God help you.

Hey, it's one or the other. She was either absolutely convinced he had comitted serious crimes - in which case the DoJ has let him off them and hasn't even bothered to even charge him with said crimes. Or...she lied to you.

You are at liberty to the present a third case. But just as a heads up, I'm voting Option 2. I'm guessing that most people would hope that's the case otherwise all illegal immigrants would be expected to be treated the same.

Drug dealer? Just send him home.
Rapist? Just send him home.
People smuggler? Just send him home.

I mean, you wouldn't want your tax dollars spent on lawyers and courts and the whole judicial system. Due process? What a waste of money. Just send them home!
She wasn't lying; and he didn't get let off; he got put out.

Waste of money? How about waste of the Court's time.

Due process?

Send them home, where justice can be served, by taking a play from the Obama playbook, by liberating terrorists through drone strikes.

Ted Cruz torches Tim Kaine for describing God-given rights as 'very, very troubling'

Again, you know that. I know that. We are Christians. Non-Christians do not.
Ok. If it’s ok to ask, did you have a degree in theology or ministry? If not. That’s fine. People can study on their own, ya know?

John MacArthur and the fundamentalist way

When I have a dream I am sure to write it down before I forget. I find whenever someone shares what God has put on his heart it is usually good. And also original. It was like... Wow! I never thought of that before!
I am a person that gets dreams from God all the time, and where I see him and talk to him, and so far everything he has said has been correct.

Trump says suspect in custody in killing of Charlie Kirk

If true, then it was Charlie Kirk's own words and attitude towards the transgender community, and not rhetoric from the left, that angered Tyler Robinson and led to his decision to assassinate him.
First you throw shade on the idea that the shooter's room mate was trans now you're using it to blame Kirk for his own murder.

Who then can be saved?

Again, you fail to understand what the simple word "if" means. Again "if" is not a command. You keep confusing the covenant of grace, with the covenant of the law. Jesus never commanded, or demanded, or insisted, or set any conditions, or any laws, nor did He require anyone to do anything in order to be saved.
Silliness. You're saying there's no consquences to failing to choose the right "if". What happens to those who don't remain in Him? Is He not telling us that we must be in Him with that verse, with that "if"? "Apart from Me you can do nothing" He tells us following that "if"-and that we'll be branches to be burned if apart from Him.

Jesus never set any conditions? First of all we must believe; that's a condition. And we must profess that belief. And we must obey the commandments, Matt 19:17 And we must love, John 13. Commands and conditions. We must be pure of heart in order to see God, Matt 5. We must clean the inside in order for the outside to be clean, Matt 23. We must forgive others in order to be forgiven by God, Matt 6.

Christians - May I have your attention for a moment?

The body has many parts and if we work in the area the Lord assigns all will be well. These are the things I encounter in the course of my work. It’s unfortunate believers have taken this course but a pruning is on the horizon. A lot of things taking place in our country didn’t happen overnight. They’ve been bubbling underneath the surface for a while and it only takes a nudge to set them off.

I’m familiar with the situation in the UK and France and follow them closely. Much like we have in the US a financial exodus is underway in the UK too and further ahead than ours.

Notably, during the six-year period from 2017 to 2023 post Brexit the UK has lost 16,500 millionaires to migration. Provisional estimates for 2024 are even more concerning, with a massive net outflow of 9,500 millionaires projected for this year alone.

The top destination cities for millionaires leaving the UK in 2024/2025 are expected to include Paris, Dubai, Amsterdam, Monaco, Geneva, Sydney, and Singapore, as well as retirement hotspots such as Florida, the Algarve, Malta, and the Italian Riviera.

The money is leaving and you‘re going to feel the effects in social services and others that rely on donations including the church. This is the era of leaving the world behind and letting it fend for itself.

I believe you are right, while still try to help when asked or see a chance, of course. But of course not we can`t rescue a sinking ship. I am from Sweden Scandinavia and we are very humantiarian still and very equal meaning everyone should have and you do not see class differences. Or differences in having it is not tolerated either. Being so isolated and not used to all the problems of the rest we are very behind in dealing with the problems. Creating more problems. As well as being a small country with small towns. And lax laws because of it. A very can`t talk about things either. But many that are not involved in the gov per se have always thought it should be clear rules and guidelines and a fair sharing but not over sharing or wrong judgements either. It is sad to see what is happening in America. I have relatives that emigrated all over in the 1800. The evil have been working on it ever since. It is sad to see. When so much good have been. And how they treat people. At least people that are disabled in Scandinavia still are treated well compared to my friend who is in America telling me everything. It is truly shocking. I can`t help it, I am a big humanitarian because of how I grew up. Equality and sharing. fair trade fair respect. christian values. not misuse or abuse however. Never been a fan of brexit, saw the writing on the wall. we all need each other. but the control should be fair and control who is coming and how much. as well as those that abuse shall leave. There was a prophetess that said before the end the immigration would happen.
I believe it is staged by evil to erode europe and they are doing it to the Us of course. sad to see. it is not fair to the people.

Christian in wheelchair killed while livestreaming his faith in France

Memory eternal. He has an Assyrian name, so probably Assyrian Church of the East or Syriac Orthodox, possibly Chaldean Catholic. @Michie you might post this in Traditional Theology or Christian News and Events as this tragedy should be of interest to everyone.

Lyon is supposed to be as safe (and as expensive) as any place in France, so its not like this happened to him in Marseilles.

If God can replace Israel, He can replace the Church, too

There is no "when" in Ro 11:23, there is only "if."
False. Rom 11:23 includes in its context the following...

Rom 11.11 Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. 12 But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!

This is the "When." The full inclusion of the People of Israel will be after a temporary loss and after a temporary gain by the Gentile nations. In other words, it will be the same as Jesus said in his Olivet Discourse....

Luke 21.24 They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

We get another "When" here....

Rom 11.25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, 26 and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written:
“The deliverer will come from Zion;
he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
27 And this is my covenant with them
when I take away their sins.”

Israel--the whole nation, will be politically saved when the Deliverer/Messiah will come to Jerusalem to deliver them from their sins, and to covenant with them on that basis. That is a "When!"

Again, "until the full number of the Gentiles has come in" expresses "When." It is the same thing Jesus said, that Israel would be judged in 70 AD, leading to an age-long period of temporary denial of their hope.

But then, Messiah would come as Deliverer to bring spiritual revival and political restoration to the nation--not just a small remnant, but to the entire nation. The entire nation will become a "Christian nation."

Trump says suspect in custody in killing of Charlie Kirk

Your post would have carried some weight if you used examples from both sides of the political fence. Unfortunately you couldn't bring yourself to do that. So rather being a proffered solution to what is so wrong with the US, it's an example of the problem itself.

How ironic...
Care to provide an example? Because I highly suspect January 6th had nothing to do with the shooter's motives for killing Kirk.
