  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I fully appreciate that so many people pack their bags in anticipation of visiting God at the end of their journey. But sadly, most go to the big Christian station and board a train to nowhere while missing the little street car to the Kingdom parked at a siding far from the hubbub of man...

The gospel of salvation was created as an aftermath simply because the original Gospel of the Kingdom, which Jesus had taught, was seen as offensive to the world. It got Jesus killed by those of authority who were threatened by it. A Gentile church which was created and soon operated in tandem...

Consider what the Tempter did with Jesus in the desert. Need it do any more than that with us? If man has not put God's will first (stones to bread), put God to the test (throw Himself down), desire what the world has to offer (thus worship the adversary), then they have already failed and may...

Unfortunately, people focus on the Redeemer and not why He was sent.. the Kingdom. Jesus was no threat to the Adversary in this world, but the Kingdom was/is. That's why we don't hear much about it in churches. Scripture remains as it was, but by misdirection the world has monopolized the...

Carnal thinking can cause not only Christians but Christianity to be mislead into following, not new ways of the spirit and Kingdom of God, but ways designed to keep even Christians with their feet planted firmly within the world, defensive of it's ways. The blind insure our loyalties remain...

When did social justice switch from poverty, health and oppression to become abortion, immigration and same-sex marriage? It seems even self-proclaimed followers of Jesus (if indeed they ever were) have crossed the line from living in the ways of the Kingdom, back into the world, and are not...

There is truth in the concept that a personal desire to stand out within the world (versus the Kingdom) has inadvertently lead people down a false trail, that as a result has wrongly combined Christianity with the traditional ways of mankind. A way that treats religion as if it were a team...

There are two forces within Christianity. First are those who set the example by the life they lead and show by attitude and their fruits that they have repented and love neighbour as self. They follow the will of God rather than the self serving will of man. Second are those who derive their...

The character of Christianity is taking a beating from those (both of the Christian and atheist camps) who seem to think that they can bolster their identity by using mocking aggression toward those not of their same ideals. That is not a Christian ideal by any means, but some Christians can...

It seems to me that many think repentance will lead to change (which of course it does) and that they will have to give up everything if they no longer comply with society and nation, thus having to live in a cardboard box in an alley... which is silly. Many, in order to overcome this...

Jesus said the way we are doing things (and have always done things) is backwards. Yet people, including many Christians, missed His point and continue to defend those backward ways today as if man's way can be justified, even using Christianity to do so. Using an opposing ideal to defend it's...

It is quite a nice experience over the Christmas season to be pleasantly reminded of days gone by, not only of Christmases past, but in how settled society used to be. However, one might say it is also rather unsettling to see how much society has itself changed, where God or Jesus are not seen...

Who are these people that promote and support choosing which neighbour to love as self, all based on nothing more than what has grown into a politically based and inspired faith? It seems to me the question that needs to be asked is what would their faith look like without the political agenda...

It seems to me that as time goes on, people's perception gets twisted to suit mankind's doctrines rather than the gospel truth. For instance (Christmas traditions aside) David was a king of the tribe of Judah but also over the entire House of Israel. Therefore it was claimed the Messiah would...

There is a lot of talk of religious persecution these days, including of Christians. It seems to me the faith itself is not being persecuted because of it's association with Jesus, but merely because it is not the same as someone else's beliefs. More a matter of human political strife if you...

Christians often fall, not because of their Christianity, but as a result of revelling in the ways of mankind. We cannot serve two masters as the Bible clearly states. Separating the two is the whole purpose of repentance and redemption. Yet it seems to me those fallen as a result of thriving...

Scripture or religion can be used for either good or evil. That self determination was after all, the reason mankind became a problem in the first place in the Garden, and as a result was removed to isolate the corruption. Yet Jesus taught of the Kingdom and it's ways polar to those of mankind...

There is a failure in Christianity, at least in the public Christianity we see aligned with the governments and institutions of mankind since Constantine. There is not enough emphasis on how Jesus' teachings apply to daily life and how His Kingdom to come relates to an inevitable end of worldly...

The blind have continued to lead the blind until we now have almost two thousand years of blind tradition to claim as truth backed by religious tradition alone. It blossomed simply because scripture was not the property of the masses. Those with eyes to see and ears to hear have, and always...
