Revisionist History?

It seems to me that as time goes on, people's perception gets twisted to suit mankind's doctrines rather than the gospel truth.

For instance (Christmas traditions aside) David was a king of the tribe of Judah but also over the entire House of Israel. Therefore it was claimed the Messiah would be of the tribe of Judah also, therefore a Jew. Yet, and this is often overlooked, the Messiah would come for the whole House of Israel, especially the lost sheep (what we today call the 10 lost tribes).

The tribe of Judah, then as today, always liked to put themselves over the others and created division, including as a result, the creation of the nation of Israel to the north and the nation of Judah to the south. Today the country we are familiar with is called Israel yet it is populated by those from the southern nation of Judah. Why one tribe of Judah would call themselves Israel is up for question. Winner take all?

It is interesting that God would chose this prideful tribe to bring forth a humble Messiah. Humble, rather than the expected contrasting Messiah of politics and 'warrior might' the Jews looked forward to. It is also interesting having Jesus tell the Jewish followers that they should go out and bring the other lost tribes from all nations (lost sheep) back into the fold.

Yet even Christians familiar with scripture are bamboozled into saying 'yay Jews', when reality states that until the Jews do the bidding of Jesus and accept, not just the tribe of Judah, but all of the House of Israel back into the fold, then unfortunately they are still adversaries of the will of God and we can only pray they see the light. Unfortunately 1/12th of a whole does not a chosen people make. This is not to belittle one tribe but to remind all that God included the whole House of Israel in His promise.

Hebrew was the language of the 12 tribes, hence the nickname Hebrews. Even Moses was not a Jew yet predominant in what we now call the Jewish faith. Our OT comes, not from the Jews as many Christians believe today. It came from a Bible based on the Torah that a non-Jew wrote who was a Levite of the House of Israel, at the time which was comprised of all 12 tribes. Times change to suit the survivors.
