  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ancient scripture, both Hebrew and Christian, remains relevant today simply because the nature of man does not want to change, and as a result remains so predictable. It seems to me the Bible from beginning to end has God showing man the benefit of change from the original indiscretion, while...

There is an old classic called the Nickel Song made popular by Melanie/The New Seekers. Jesus said Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Christians for the most part fail to seek God on a life long basis yet seem...

It seems to me Christianity (the religious institution - not the reality) has always been on shaky ground, EXCEPT for when it was aligned with empires and kingdoms of man, the controlling voice over the masses and of nations. Did the religious instituion not become an empire itself and even in...

Don't confuse Christianity with Jesus. That is like comparing an insurance company with a person who helps out the sick or widowed. One gives of themselves, the other has an angle. ...© timothyu

The Bible, from cover to cover, speaks of man's will vs the will of God. As a result we have an ongoing battle between the world man has made, and the Kingdom of God compliments of Jesus (previously just the will of God). Jesus said the Kingdom would be a stumbling block to the will of man...

While thinking about Christians who merrily spend their days making the religion over in mankind's image in order to justify their secular ways, I got to thinking about those dedicated to the examples set by the earliest followers, the Way. Regardless of how self sufficient or charitable, it...

People and denominations within Christianity seem to be so busy thinking of themselves that they don't yet see a perfect opportunity to put Jesus' resurrection in the spotlight throughout the world, just like Y2K or the millennial New Years bash. No need to preach or push doctrine, to be...

It seems to me mankind is all about self.. until it comes to blame. It seems to me that those with the least give others the most. Stubborn, aggressive, angry people were that way before they found a Christian 'faith' that fit their character... and unfortunately that fit encourages them to...

Little pebbles come from rocks. Jesus gave Shimon (Simon) his nickname (Little Pebble/Peter) because Peter had correctly spoken in his identity of the Messiah, and Jesus said that that knowledge had come from God and not the opinions of man. Hence the rock that the church would be built upon...

I've heard it said it is good for a Christian to be politically involved and follow what is going on to keep up with the different views. I was lead to wonder if the different views were the views of man or views of those of the Kingdom. Whose eyes are they being seen through? Is it like a...
