The passage of Scripture is from Acts 10:1-48 and Acts 11:1-18, which is all one story, so I am going to summarize much of this and I will quote sections of it, so I would encourage you to read the whole passage of Scripture.

There was a man named Cornelius, a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who prayed to God always. And one day he had a vision of an angel of God calling his name. And he said for him to send for Simon Peter, so that is what he did. And the next day Peter had a vision where he was told to eat that which had been forbidden under the Old Covenant law. So, he said, “Not so, Lord!” But the voice spoke, “What God has cleansed you must not call common.” And this was done three times.

While Peter thought about the vision the men sent from Cornelius showed up at Peter’s house. And the next day Peter went away with them to see Cornelius. And many people had gathered there to hear Peter.


The Lesson For Us

God can and will speak to us through visions and dreams and parables to lead us in the way that he would have us to go if we will be willing to let him do that. For, even though the Scriptures do teach us the ways of the Lord, and they give us his commands in the “do’s and do nots,” the Scriptures do not lead us all in very specific ways the Lord has for us individually in letting us know where to go and what to do and what to say. And this is one reason we are given the Holy Spirit within us to counsel us in the ways we’re to go.

For God has gifted us with spiritual gifts, who believe in Jesus, and he has given us our “body part” assignments within the body of Christ, and he has very specific callings upon our lives individually. And he has specific tasks he wants us to do each day which we may not know what it is until that day comes. And so he has to have a way to communicate those things to us. And so sometimes he will use dreams and visions and parables as a means to get across to us his very specific assignments he has for us, one day at a time.

Now, when I was young, and I would say, “God showed me,” I was scolded by my pastor and told I should say rather, “I think,” as though it was just my opinion. But that wasn’t true that it was just my opinion, for the Lord did speak to me in ways that were specific to my life as I studied the Scriptures and as I was being led by the Holy Spirit living within me. And that is how I knew what I was to do and where I was to go that was very specific just to me and not general instructions given to all followers of Jesus Christ.

But what if Cornelius and Peter had ignored their visions from God? What if they refused because someone told them that God doesn’t speak to us that way, although he certainly did speak that way to people in the Bible? The people who were saved may have been saved anyway, but they would have missed out on that blessing from God and how God wanted to use them. And then God couldn’t use them in the ways that he did because their ears and hearts would be closed to allowing the Lord to lead them in that way.

But because they both heard from the Lord, and they listened, and they did as they were instructed, many people who did not know Jesus previously believed in the Lord and received the Holy Spirit. And from that the gospel of our salvation was spread to the Gentiles, which had been prophesied in the Scriptures a long time ago. And because I obeyed the Lord’s calling on my life, the message of the gospel is going to people all over the world via the internet. And people are hearing the truth of the gospel. All glory to God!

So don’t shut out the Lord’s voice speaking to you through dreams, visions, or parables in order to show you specifically what he has for you to do. Test what you are seeing or hearing against the truth of the Scriptures, and in prayer, to make certain that what you are hearing or seeing is from God, and that it aligns with the Scriptures, but then follow the leading of the Holy Spirit within you. Go where he sends you, and say to the people all that he gives you to say, and do not put out the Spirit’s fire because men say to.

The super PAC Lead Left has donated more than $1 million to at least three Democratic congressional primaries, according to The New York Times, which reported that the donations were an attempt by Republicans to keep control of the House of Representatives.

While its name might fool some, prior reporting has found Republican ties to Lead Left, the PAC that gives much of its money to Democratic candidates.

Punchbowl News uncovered that the PAC was registered to a treasurer who hasn’t previously registered a political committee. The address matched a Staples store in Tallahassee, Florida. [Furthermore, metadata on the PAC website is linked to WinRed, the Republican fundraising vehicle]

One of the candidates Lead Left has donated to is Maureen Galindo in Texas’ 35th Congressional District. Republicans redrew that district last year. Galindo has faced major criticisms from the right and left for her remarks about how she would turn an ICE facility into a “prison for American Zionists.” Democrats have called her comments “antisemitic,” and she garnered backlash over her remarks about her ICE prison plans.

“It will also be a castration processing center for pedophiles which will probably be most of the Zionists,” Galindo wrote on Instagram.

The Times reported that Galinda had raised less than $10,000 through March

Many Democrats have also alleged that Galindo has been propped up by conservative funders. They point to Lead Left PAC, a political action committee founded less than a month ago that has reported more than $800,000 in pro-Galindo and anti-Garcia [her primary opponent in the Democratic runoff] spending, according to recent Federal Election Commission filings.

[Galindo's antisemitic] comments have drawn stiff criticism from Texas Democrats, with Garcia calling them "conspiracy theories and hateful rhetoric" and gubernatorial candidate James Talarico telling the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that he would not campaign with Galindo.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Rep. Suzan DelBene of Washington, who chairs the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, said in a statement that Galindo's comments were "extremely dangerous" and "vile," and have "no place in Democratic politics."

Well, back in 2022 the Democrats backed a bunch of far-right Republicans in primaries with the hope they'd win their primaries but then (due to them being far-right) would lose the general. It actually mostly worked out pretty well for them (while some candidates they backed lost their primaries, all of the candidates they backed that won the primary then lost the general election) so it's not a big surprise Republicans might try the same tactic.

While I believe the verses used to restrict women from being a pastor is taken out of context and misinterpreted, I think this is just going above and beyond stupid. What's next? Us women can't share our opinions in Church? Can't correct someone on scripture just because they're male?

To be honest, I have seen such debates that ran long because of contention and noisy fallacies, and so on, instead of each party getting to the point. What they are doing is obviously for teaching purposes. It was fun, but I haven't had the time to see both 'episodes'.

New House defense budget torpedoes Trump-class battleship​

On Tuesday, the House Armed Services Committee released the draft of its annual defense policy bill ahead of the panel’s marathon National Defense Authorization Act markup next week, and Punchbowl News defense reporter Briana Reilly has revealed that the $1.15 trillion proposal explicitly bans the construction of the president’s requested Trump-class battleship.

Trump’s vision has been criticized by experts inside government and out. Some suggest that the cost is too high. Others note that warfare has changed dramatically since the battleship reigned supreme, and that modern conflict calls for inexpensive drones rather than enormous ships. And others still point out that much of the technology proposed for arming the ships simply doesn’t exist.

I heard this is the first step towards getting rid of AM RADIO. AM radio needs to be eliminated, so that tracking information, in cars, can take it's place in the future.

It's good to be tracked everywhere we go. It is for our own good, and it helps generate behavioral data, and is a source of revenue for advertisers, which is good for the economy.

A Southern Baptist children’s home has approved a program to help pay for seminary training for houseparents involved in its ministry work.

New Mexico Baptist Children’s Home, based in Portales, New Mexico, adopted the program earlier this month and is interviewing potential candidates among its houseparents — adults who oversee group residences.


As part of the program, NMBCH will offer full-time tuition for one spouse and part-time tuition for the other spouse at any of the six seminaries affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention or an associated college. The children’s home will also provide up to $300 each semester for books.

“This is in addition to our generous compensation package, which includes a salary of $83,000 per couple; housing and utilities, including internet, fully paid,” NMBCH Vice President Lon Graham told The Christian Post.

“[It also includes] 100% paid health, dental, long-term disability and life insurance premiums for employees and dependents; employer contributions to a 403(b) retirement plan; scholarship opportunities for dependent children; and relocation assistance.”

Former President Joe Biden sued the U.S. Department of Justice on Tuesday to prevent the release of audio and transcripts of his interviews with a ghostwriter, which were obtained by special counsel Robert Hur as part of his investigation into Biden's mishandling of classified documents.

According to Biden's lawyers, the transcripts and audio of Biden's interviews in 2016 and 2017 with author Mark Zwonitzer, who worked with him on his two memoirs, are among the material the Justice Department plans to release on June 15 to Congress and The Heritage Foundation, according to The Associated Press.

In the case filed in federal court in the District of Columbia, Biden's attorneys argued that releasing the recordings would "constitute an unwarranted invasion of President Biden's privacy."

"Every American, including a sitting or former Vice President, has a right to privacy in the personal conversations he has within his own home," they wrote. "And when the U.S. Department of Justice obtains that private information through a criminal investigation, the Department bears a particular responsibility to protect it from disclosure."

The left have been pushing this for decades. It's been a slow process but I will say that within the last 2 decades, they seem to be ramping up and it's working. Christianity in the US is failing in influence due to the majority stance that being gay or trans is a sin. That's created a major push for people to distance themselves from Christian values in general, even if they agree with other value points, purely because of optics on gay/trans issues. So, people re-interpret the bible based on their own values! As we get closer to the Lord's return, I believe this is only going to get worse. The US will continue to back away from Christian values and the world will follow suit.

Christian YouTuber and Bible teacher Mike Winger announced he will take a “long overdue” three-month sabbatical beginning in June after postponing the break for months while working on his series about “cover-up culture.”

“I was supposed to go on a sabbatical in January,” Winger said during Episode 77 of his podcast. “It didn’t happen because of this series on cover-up culture, because of the stuff I’ve been working on, that sabbatical did not take place.”

Winger, who just hit over 1 million subscribers on YouTube — “It’s all by God’s incredible, incredible kind grace. I’m so grateful for it,” he said — delayed the break because he wanted to continue helping people connected to the issues he has been covering.

“I really want to keep helping these people. I don’t want to put it off. I don’t want to make them wait months for me to do the work,” he said. “So, we put it off and put it off. Well, it’s May, so I’m going to go on sabbatical starting June 1.”

“I’m just going to take a break,” Winger added. “I’m not done with the whole series. Unfortunately, there’s a few situations that I still want to cover that I just have to put on the shelf for a while.”

The Teachings of the Law of Moses

This rule of life was revealed from God and accepted by Israel at Sinai, and was at no time addressed to the nations of the world. It was a peculiar form of government for a peculiar people, and accomplished a peculiar purpose in condemning the failure of man and in preparing him for the Messiah.

Its full detail is revealed in the writings of Moses; but the history of Israel under the law occupies the rest of the Old Testament, and a major part of the gospels up to the record of the death of Christ. The Law of Moses was complete within itself. It was sufficient to regulate the conduct of an Israelite under every circumstance that might arise. In her relation to God, that nation remained for 1500 years under pure law (God has been dealing with Israel now for 4 millennia and will finally bring them back to Himself, probably during the Millennium—NC).

The Teachings of Grace

Like the teachings of the Law of Moses, the teachings of grace have not applied to men in all ages (not applied until the ascension of the Lord Jesus—NC). They were never addressed to the world as applicable to it in the present age; but are addressed to a peculiar people who are in the world, but are not of the world. These teachings constitute the divine instruction to the heavenly citizen and unfold the exact manner of life that such a citizen is expected to manifest even here on earth.

It is revealed that God dealt graciously with the human family from Adam to Moses; but it is also revealed that the precise form of divine government which is the present teaching of grace was then disclosed, nor was it applied to men until the reign of the law had been terminated in the death of Christ. It is likewise revealed that the death of Christ was the necessary foundation for the present, full manifestation of super abounding grace.

It is equally certain from the Word that the teachings of grace will apply to the children of God under grace as long as they are in the world, and these principles will cease to apply, of necessity, when the people whom they alone address are gathered out and taken from the earth at the Rapture.

This age is not the time of salvation of society; that great undertaking is clearly in the purpose of God, but is reserved for the age which is yet to come. The present dispensation is characterized by a unique emphasis on the individual. The death of Christ contemplated above all else is the need of the individual sinner. The Gospel of grace, which the death of Christ made possible, is equal to the individual alone, and the very faith by which it is received is exercised only by the individual.

The message of grace is of a personal faith, a personal salvation, and personal endowment of the Spirit, a personal gift for service, and a personal transformation into the image of Christ. The company of individuals thus redeemed and transformed, are to be in the ages to come the supreme manifestation of the riches of God’s grace. Unto this eternal purpose the whole universe was created and all ages have been programmed by God.

The glory of this dispensation is lost to a large extent when the reign of law is intruded into this age (attempting to mix Judaism with Christianity—NC) which followed the death of Christ, or when the social order of the Kingdom, promised for a future age, is expected before the return of the king. The Bible affords no basis for the supposition that the Lord will come to a perfected social order. At His coming at the Rapture He will gather all the saved to Himself. The transcendent glory of this age is that very grace which will have been either accepted or rejected by the individual.

Awful long video. I also know the whole doctrine of Ellen White, etc. I've been to their meetings a couple of times. They can't seem to explain those verses about worshipping the King on earth and all the nations that don't show on the Feast of Tabernacles get no rain, etc. Big problem.

Another 'mental health is to blame' story.

Court records indicate that the suspect had a stay-away order from the White House put in place on July 11, 2025. He had been arrested the day before the shooting after attempting to get into the White House and get past a security checkpoint, according to a court record. He told officers he was "Jesus Christ" and allegedly told officers he wanted to get arrested.

My take is that President Trump will regret missing his son's wedding.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Barron, arguably the most prominent Catholic prelate in America, said that despite criticism within the church of the administration’s immigration policy, "there are darn good reasons, moral reasons, for being concerned about an open border."

"I don't think it's fair to say to a conservative, to a Republican, you're just being difficult and anti-humanitarian," he said, adding that "at times, the Catholic left is great for calling for dialogue and bridge-building — until it comes to conservatives."

He said that for many Catholics on the left, "when it comes to conservatives, just tell them what they should be doing and saying."

Although I generally admired Pope Leo’s first encyclical, I was dismayed to read, in paragraph 192:

Today, more than ever, without prejudice to the right to self-defense in the strictest sense, it is important to reaffirm that the “just war” theory, which has all too often been used to justify any kind of war, is now outdated.

Pope Leo is not the first Pontiff to say that just-war theory is outdated. Pope Francis said the same thing. Even Pope Pius XII, who cannot be classified as a pacifist, said in his Christmas message of 1948: “The theory of war as an apt and proportionate means of solving international conflicts is now out of date.”

But Pius XII, speaking in the aftermath of World War II, did not jettison just-war theory—even with the advent of The Bomb threatening new levels of mass destruction. No one short of Dr. Strangelove would think that nuclear war is “an apt and proportionate means” of resolving conflicts. A just war is always a last resort, when preferable methods have failed.

Pope Leo renders his judgment “without prejudice to the right to self-defense.” But in the just-war tradition, a war can be considered just only if it is fought in self-defense, or in the defense of others.

If a nation can be morally justified in defending itself, how shall we distinguish between which sort of military actions are justified, and which are not? That is precisely the purpose of just-war theory: to make such distinctions. And indeed Pope Leo uses the principles of just-war reasoning when he discusses the dangers of autonomous weapons.

Later in the encyclical, the Pope again speaks inaccurately when he says: “When a culture normalizes and justifies conflict, a dangerous pathway opens up…” Conflict is a reality of human interactions, a consequence of original sin, which no moral system is likely to eliminate. Nations, like individuals, have different wants and needs; sometimes they will be in conflict. The key question, international affairs, is how those conflicts will be resolved, and of course peaceful negotiations are the preferred method.
