  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

CDC Head Ousted

Susan Monarez, former CDC director, tells Senate committee 'true reason' she was fired

"Part of our responsibility today is to ask ourselves, if someone is fired 29 days after every Republican votes for her, the Senate confirms her, the secretary said in her swearing in that she has 'unimpeachable scientific credentials' and the president called her an incredible mother and dedicated public servant -- like what happened? Did we fail? Was there something we should have done differently?" Cassidy said.

Monarez, in her opening statement, gave a detailed timeline on the chain of events that she said led to her ouster.

"Since my removal, several explanations have been offered: that I told the secretary I would resign, that I was not aligned with administration priorities, or that I was untrustworthy. None of those reflect what actually happened," Monarez said.

Monarez said there was a meeting in which she says Kennedy told her to preemptively accept recommendations from a CDC vaccine advisory panel and to fire career officials overseeing vaccine policy.

"I would not commit to that, and I believe it is the true reason I was fired," Monarez said. She later added, "I was fired for holding the line on scientific integrity."

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade apologizes for remarks about killing mentally ill homeless people

It's actually going to get worse. Because of budget cuts. If someone wants to kill them selves. There's not enough funds for emergency. And kids being abused , there case gets closed. Lack of funds.
Unfortunately, I think you’re right :(

Daniel 11:40-44, followed by Armageddon

Revv. 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings(E.U.), which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast(They only have power over Israel/THE MANY for 1260 days thus the ONE HOUR = 1260 days also in Rev. 18:10).

13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

The E.U. unlike Rome is thus not a Dictatorship, this is why its Iron AND Clay and a brittle kingdom, unlike the Iron description of Rome. The E.U. Parliament [FREELY] gives their powers unto this man, who becomes The Beast when he conquers Israel and THE MANY.
Hi Fisherking,

Go down a few verses....

Revelation 17:17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

That verse indicates that the beast-king will become the dictator of the EU.

We do agree about the EU though.

No, he's a Greek born man (Dan. 8:9), with Old Assyrian blood in his veins, who comes to power in the E.U.
I am not sure that he will be a Greek born man. But I do agree that from Greece, he will head south east toward Israel and the middle east with a strong army.

Personally, what I think will happen is that when Gog/Magog is about happen, he will position the EU army in Greece to act as a deterrent, but that the Gog/Magog attack happens anyway.

And right after Gog's army is destroyed, he will move his EU army into the middle east on the premise of acting as a peace keeper for the region. But the underlying reason for the ten EU leaders will be to take control of all the middle east oil.

The Jews of Israel will see the little horn person as their long awaited King of Israel messiah. So the person has to be a Jew. The first checkpoint to speculate on who the Antichrist is.

Sen. Schmitt at National Conservatism Conference 5: What Is an American?

What is particularly surprising is that he and others who hold this viewpoint demonstrate a clear disregard for basic arithmetic, such as the fact that 2+2=4. In a previous discussion, I mentioned that by the 2032 presidential election, only 56% of the electorate is projected to be white. Is it reasonable to expect that focusing on restoring Irish-Scottish heritage would attract Hispanic or African American voters to support the GOP? Is it reasonable to expect that discussing the revival of 14th-century European culture would persuade Arab-American, Muslim-American, Asian-American, and young voters from biracial families to reconsider their stance and support the GOP?
At least some of them can do the math - they're just trying to change it in their favor. Hence the focus on the Great Replacement "theory," conspiracy theories about illegal immigrant voters, and an increase in the mainstreaming of right-wing commentators voicing white supremacist viewpoints.

Is there a massive difference between suffering in general and suffering for belief in Christ?

Sorry to hear about you and your husband's struggle, it's great that it ended up bringing him and his mom closer to God!

A lot of the suffering and blessings I get are in rapid succession over an extended period of time and my faith has remained at the same 'level' throughout everything, and, in my opinion, has always been at a pretty high level. I feel like it could be a punishment for some of the things I have done. I am a sinful person, I've looked at married women with lust, and I gamble on the stock market. Throughout the past few years I have repented of these things but I still seem to cycle through insane events that most people never seem to experience or only experience once in their lifetime despite being a relatively young man myself. I genuinely think I could get diagnosed with cancer or lose a limb in these next few months. I had a dream this morning where I was at my dad's funeral (he is still alive). I feel like if these things were to happen I would still believe in God, so I think there is also a possibility I am going through a trial, but I am not certain.

I wish there was a definitive way to know by reading scripture. Because terrible things happened to Job, and he was a righteous man, but terrible things have also happened to terrible people like Nebuchadnezzar.
Thanks! <3

If you have repented for the sin you did, and are working on keeping from it, then it can't be punishment. God doesn't punish people after who ask for forgiveness and turn from sin. The point of pressure by instances (if punishment) is to get someone to turn from sin and back to God, but if you've already done that, then it wouldn't be punishment.

If your faith is the same, then maybe hes calling you closer to him in general. Trials aren't always for just faith, it could be the close/bond of the relationship where he could be calling you to seek him in prayer more, read into his word more, go to him more with your struggles so he can guide you better. For me personally, my own struggles led me to seek the Lord more often in general whether that's prayer, scripture or just asking for guidance. Our relationship with the Lord is a 2 way street and the bible says if you draw near to him, he will draw near to you (James 4:8). Also realize that the world is full of problems in general and just because something bad happens, doesn't mean, its necessarily a bad thing. For example: You could say, "my boyfriend left me!" And you could be upset, but who says that automatically is bad? That could be a blessing in disguise because they weren't right for you. So I think it depends and thats why I said only you can answer the question on if its a trial, punishment or not but I would advise you to seek the Lord and ask him. He 100% answers every prayer, so he would answer you.

Eric Trump on Charlie Kirk’s Legacy and the Radical Left – “This Could Have Been the Greatest Mistake These People Have Ever Made” (VIDEO)

I'm a bit late here...
While it probably can't be argued that he supported trans rights, is the discussion just trying to get a sense of exactly where his political leanings were laid out?
Honestly, I'm not 100% sure of what @Vambram's point is, but it seems like he's trying to use that Fox article to "prove" that Robinson was a far-left liberal extremist because his mom said he shifted left - which she only categorized by him changing his views of gay/trans rights.

The Trump DOJ goes "woke" and will target free speech.

There's a pretty big difference between you putting up a big conspiracy board to show how something was totally going to happen and the head of the DOJ explicitly announcing: "We're going to do this."

Whataboutisms too.
That’s what this forum is all about. ;)

Technically speaking then what the right’s DOJ is being accused of has not happened yet either.

Eric Trump on Charlie Kirk’s Legacy and the Radical Left – “This Could Have Been the Greatest Mistake These People Have Ever Made” (VIDEO)

Fundamentally, the only statements of fact that she made (at least as reported by Fox in the article you linked) are that he started caring more about gay and trans rights, that he expressed a strong dislike of Kirk, and that he fought with his father over political disagreements. Her claim that this made him "left-leaning" is her opinion.

False Preachers/Teachers

We are called to warn against false teachers. (Ephesians 5:11, Titus 1:9-11) Slander is making false statements about someone. So if someone is saying someone said something they didn't, that's wrong in general. But to say, watch out for this person and here is why, isn't unbiblical when we're told to avoid false teachers. How do you avoid someone you don't know is false? Paul didn't say, sit and learn from them so you can accept the good and toss the bad, he said avoid (Romans 16:17-18).

Drag queen shows for children are seen by the radical left as exposing children to the real world, whereas many people see that as sexually grooming the kids.
As someone who worked with "groomers", it's not grooming kids.

I've only seen one drag event at our library...it's not really my thing though I don't care about others doing it (in the same way I don't LARP or go to Ren faires)

What depravity did I see?
A man dressed garishly as a woman, reading a book about colours to some children.

I have always been very VERY curious. What are the PRECISE behaviours that are considered "grooming" in this context?

a) Just talking about it at all?
b) Normalizing it?
c) Encouraging it?
d) Are they raping or abusing kids at these events?
e) Are parents endangering their kids by going to these events? BEcause unfortunately, statistically libraries are way way way way way safer than churches.
So be careful...

I don’t care about irrelevant Facebook posts she made. I care about her sworn testimony to investigators. Are you calling her a liar about what she told investigators?

How can she be called a liar? There would be no basis for it. People would need to know if her FB posts are congruent with her testimony.

But what CAN be stated, are facts.

I’m not defending today’s DOJ but merely pointing out the way the the old DOJ was heading. There is no justification.

The Bostok vs Clayton County, Ga. decision opened the door for continued litigation regarding civil penalties for misgendering someone. Many companies use this decision to develop hr policies and arbitrarily fire people for this. Although it begins as a civil penalty there are arguments to add it to a hate enhancement for crimes therefore jumping into the criminal arena. Under a far liberal DOJ the chances increase dramatically that it would become criminal. See England as an example.

How is the Economy Doing Right Now?

It seems like there haven't been many pointed discussions about the economy down in the US right now.
Seems that the DOW continues to improve.
Unemployment is at BEST, underwhelming.
The inflation on foods is becoming quite untenable for many.
Farming, as an American industry is on the brink of complete disaster (if we are to believe American farmers)

But I don't live there.

What are you passionate about here? What are the really GREAT things you see happenning? What are the troubling things?

I'm curious.

Transcript of Kirk's killer's messages has been revealed

Perhaps you understand Tyler Robinson better than his own mother and father???
I never implied that. She said that they were conservatives but he had been "leaning left".
My politics shows that I am a left leaning Democrat. I am also totally in line with my Catholic Church's teaching.

Most conservatives that I have talked to on this forum claim that I am far left, showing those people are ignorant of political issues.

Cribbed from another thread: Deputy AG threatens RICO investigations for people who organize to yell at Trump:
Up next, the announcement of the administration’s strict enforcement of the “I’m rubber, you are glue” statute. Everybody will have to sit on the tarmac and think about they said until recess is over.
