He misses the point. So many do. It's not what we've done; it's what Jesus has done for us. His answer implies he's looking at his works, but Paul pointed out that our own righteousness is as filthy rags compared to God.President Trump dialed into “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday morning and revealed his newest and truest motivation for brokering an end to the war in Ukraine: He’s worried he might not get into heaven after he dies.
“I want to try and get to heaven, if possible,” he explained. “I’m hearing I’m not doing well. I am really at the bottom of the totem pole. But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons.”
Until I read this quote, I didn't know if Trump is a Christian or not. If he's trusting in his works, not Jesus, then I think the answer is no. Yeah, I know there are many here (most in this section of CF) that think Trump isn't because of political reasons, but ultimately it comes down to whether a person trusts Christ or not, not which side of the political aisle they're on.
FWIW, simply hoping one gets to Heaven isn't much of an indication of anything. Who here wants to to the other place?
