TRUMP "MISSED THE DEADLINE" TO CALL OFF TX GERRYMANDERING; CALIFORNIA WILL NOW DRAW NEW, MORE “BEAUTIFUL MAPS”

You didn't answer my question (color me shocked).

You said, "But that's not the proposition that Newsom will be presenting." So what "proposition" do you think Newsom will be presenting?
'SACRAMENTO, California — California Democrats on Friday finalized their plan to snatch five GOP House seats next year by redrawing the state’s congressional lines, according to a copy of the new House map and other documents submitted to the Legislature on behalf of the DCCC.

The new lines, which voters would need to approve in a Nov. 4 special election...

That proposition.

NT Wright says marriage won’t exist in Heaven, but love will be transformed

Biblically speaking, nothing.

The Bible doesn't teach human beings are a "trinity", or what is more commonly call tripartism or trichotomism. Nor has this ever been the historic Christian perspective.

More common has been what is sometimes called dichotomism, man is a dichotomy of his material self (the body) and his immaterial self (the soul or spirit).

Sometimes this dichotomism also becomes a problem, biblically and theologically, when it gets forced too hard into an overtly Platonic dualism; Platonic dualism would view "the soul" as the "true self" and the body as in some sense lesser, inferior, or a facade hiding the true self of the soul. Think of what Yoda says in Star Wars, "Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter" this is a very Platonic way of seeing things, and taken excessively leads to various Gnostic and heretical ideas--such as that the body is evil and false, because physical matter is inferior/evil.

But taken simply and non dualistically, the dichotomy of body and soul is a helpful way of understanding biblical teaching that human beings were created as rational, thinking, relational, and moral creatures-we aren't just our bodies, but we aren't flighty souls trapped in bodies either. We are fully integrated, fully bodied, fully "souled" creatures who reason, who were created to love God, reflect God, love each other, and be God's Image bearers in creation. This means that when the body dies, we don't merely cease to exist--there is something about us that can exist even without and apart from the body--but this isn't how we were made or intended to exist, it is an unnatural severing of body and soul caused by the unnatural reality of death, which is an affliction upon the whole cosmos wrought by and perpetuating sin.

The Bible, when speaking of human beings, uses a lot of terms to describe the "parts" of human beings--body, mind, soul, spirit, heart--to name some of the most common. We wouldn't, therefore speak of a quadrinity of human beings by speaking also of the mind or the heart; or a quintity by speaking of the mind and heart along with body, soul, spirit. Instead we understand that, biblicaly speaking, and according to the historic faith of the Church, that the human person can be described as "more than the body" and so there is something about us that gives us an "us-ness" even apart from the body (and yet, this body of ours is also very much us--my body is also me); so this dichotomous language that there is a material and immaterial dimension to the human person is something we have historically and continuously seen throughout Christian history, going back to Scripture itself.

There is, therefore, no reason to regard the human soul and the human spirit fully independent things--but rather both "soul" and "spirit" are ways of speaking of the rational, emotive, relational, spiritual, and trans-material quality of the human creature.

Coming Out In The Vatican A Homosexual Theocracy

As far as homosexuality, sometimes you just have to tell yourself "no" to certain behaviors. It's the same with drug addicts, etc. Nobody expects it to be easy, but to follow Christ you have to pick up your cross and bear your sufferings. I'm a widow, I could be dating like crazy. My life sure would be a lot less lonely. But, in following Christ, I realized that I had to focus on Him, not myself. After clearing the addicts out of my life, I've made a few friends who's focus isn't on getting high all the time. Anyway, homosexual behavior, like any other sin, is not a life sentence. And I definitely have splinters in my eye too.
Well said! Unfortunately, they do anything to justify their sin. As I sadly have to live with this situation. :(

Trump Foster’s yet another peace deal

No absolutely not. They should have booed him and thrown eggs.
That would be an improvement over this shameful display.

Again, why does Putin deserve this honor?
How dare them try to negotiate in peace.
How did the negotiations go? Did Trump get the ceasefire he wanted? Putin got red carpet treatment from the most powerful man in the world. What did we get in return?

Questions and Answers

This is complete nonsense. His second coming IS His return.
Over 100 Prophesies vividly describe how the Lord will come in fire and He will not be seen on that Day. Isaiah 66:15-17, Zephaniah 1:14-18,
Verses like Psalms 11:4-6 and Habakkuk 3:4, Revelation 6:12-17, + prove this.
That terrible Day is totally different and separate from the glorious Return, to come years later.

It is plain you have been proved wrong. You seem incapable of learning.

Darwinian evolution - still a theory in crisis.

I don't think this is the proper place to discuss one another's spiritual standing before the LORD.

I would like to ask you a question though.

Do you consider the Lord's Table a sacrament, or an ordinance?
When you say “the Lord‘s table” you mean Communion, right?

All humans are 50th cousins?

I've been thinking about taking one of those dna tests to see where your heritage originates. Parts of England are a bit of a mish mash with Romans, Vikings, Saxons etc being regular visitors. But parts of Wales might have escaped the interbreeding.
I've done about 5 different DNA tests, and many of them contradict each other.

It also occurs my deceased uncle (died 2010) apparently had an affair in the early 1960s....and someone who is 99.9% chance of being my first cousin messaged me. He found out via ancestry.com his father, whom he is named after, is not really his biological father.

Yikes!

Trumpenomics

Of course.

My point was that it shouldn't be a surprise if Home Depot increases its price in 2025 or in any other year.
You bet. And now notice Home Depots stated reason: "....... will raise some prices because of tariffs."
That is something other than the normal rate of anticipated inflation.

Pentecostals and Baptists

In my opinion,.....

If you go back to the beginning history of the various old line protestant denominations, a lot of them started out on fire for GOD, being filled with The Holy Spirit and operating in the gifts and such. Very powerful for GOD.

At some point though, this all died down and eventually out, to the point that all of these various denominations now speak ill of the gifts, even attributing them to evil spirits being in those that operate in them, whilst slowly becoming Catholic-light in their services.

So,.... in the early 1900's GOD brought about a new, more modern protestant denomination called The Assemblies of GOD, that would hold onto the filling of The Holy Spirit and His gifts and fruits, and for the most part, we have. This time frame also saw a couple other denominations associated with us, having similar beliefs, as well as the Charismatic faith groups that arose shortly thereafter, all holding to the filling of The Holy Spirit beyond the born again experience.

At this point though, I would say that the only real visible thing that is similar between Baptists and Pentecostals is our choices of worship music. Everything else theologically beyond the teaching of being born again and such between us is different.
Remember hearing about the Second Great Awakening in the United States?

Gee, that's unusual. Asking the voters what they want. Do you think it will catch on?

Trump's BBBill pours money into fossil fuels that HURT the American economy, and punishes cleantech which gives a FOURFOLD return on investment!

It's just amazing to watch America wound itself like this.

Matt Ferrell of "Undecided" covers the financial costs per energy unit of energy sources, then the flow on costs (like health impacts), then the BILLIONS in cancelled factory production and other plans now cancelled because of Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill."

Then there's the brain-drain! 75% of scientists are considering leaving the USA.
Europe are spending hundreds of millions to entice them over!
What's worse? CHINA is now offering massive incentives for them as well.
But here's the real kicker - brain drain takes DECADES to reverse! Once an entire sector has fled a country, the infrastructure and policies have to be massive to make them reconsider that decision and see the land that burned them as trustworthy again!

Not only this, the fantastic irony is the people that voted Trump in are being hurt the worst.
Republican states tend to be large states - and have a lot of physical land great for renewable energy projects.
Guess who's economies are now suffering as these projects are thrown into doubt?
Should the BBB instead be called "The Bankrupting, Brain-drain Bill" instead?

Matt also explores what will happen to electricity bills, etc.

The rest of the world is exponentially accelerating into a renewable future that also Electrifies Everything.
Comparatively, America has not just had a gap open up in the race as others race ahead - America has gone into reverse.
America has sacrificed any leadership in one of the largest economic sectors on the planet!

Last week I told friends not to worry too much about Trump's bill - as the rest of the world is shooting ahead into clean tech and America had just sadly shot itself in the foot.

After Matt Ferrell's piece - I'm revising that.
Trump just shot you in both kneecaps and a kidney!

No wonder Elon dropped the Epstein bomb!
He could see the writing on the wall.

Sacrament but we also are required as practicing Catholics to believe it if we receive.

TRUMP "MISSED THE DEADLINE" TO CALL OFF TX GERRYMANDERING; CALIFORNIA WILL NOW DRAW NEW, MORE “BEAUTIFUL MAPS”

What do you think Newsom will be presenting? To achieve the BEAUTIFUL MAPS referenced in the OP, California will have to vote to do away with the independent redistricting commission and return redistricting authority to the state legislature. That will likely be a tall order, since polling shows that almost 2/3 of Californians prefer the independent commission, which means that all of Newsom's tweets about redistricting are just bluster.
Gee, that's unusual. Asking the voters what they want. Do you think it will catch on?
