  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

ABC pulls Jimmy Kimmel Live after comments on Charlie Kirk

Is it a "take" when someone asks you to clarify what you meant and you do so? :)

Yes.

It's hard to feel bad for Jimmy.

While I thought he was a talented comedian, he was the same one who was pretty joyful about someone else getting fired for expressing differing viewpoints.

(ignore the commentary in-between from whoever that youtuber is, this isn't an endorsement of his content, this was simply the only clip I was able to find showing when Jimmy laughed about Tucker getting fired)
I don't particularly care about any of them, but there's a pretty significant different between what Carlson did that led to his firing and what Kimmel did.

Eric Trump on Charlie Kirk’s Legacy and the Radical Left – “This Could Have Been the Greatest Mistake These People Have Ever Made” (VIDEO)

Wrong. According to the psychological dictionary, sexual deviancy is any sexual behaviour that is seen to be different from the norms we expect.
So would sexual assault be a sexual deviancy?

The Trump DOJ goes "woke" and will target free speech.

She does not look center left to me. You dismissed all of her votes for the left and honed in one that looks from the right.
I didn't dismiss them - it's just that nothing jumped out at me as "far left". Again, are there any that you'd like to highlight as being particularly extreme?
That’s ok you are obviously stuck on your believes and not willing to learn. Your objective seems to just want to win the argument. Not interested anymore.
Repeating dogma doesn't teach me anything. Support your arguments - you claim they're far left. Okay. Why? What is your evidence? Convince me.

Mixing colors? That's it?

Isn't that what we started here with?

See only what you want to see.
That's all you showed us. I'm not saying you're wrong; I'm just saying that we need a reason to think you're right. And you could be. But mixing colors is kind of a public school thing. Grooming them to be readers seems to be the real concern.

JB Pritzker Claims He Has Never Called Republicans ‘Nazis’ – Gets Proven Wrong by Videos of His Own Words

Nuance. I'm being told that Charlie Kirk didn't call all Black women low IQ people who lacked brain processing power, he was talking about specific individuals. To say otherwise is dishonest and deliberately taking his words out of context for a specific narrative and twisting them. I'm assuming the same nuance applies here.
But he was implying that because they were black, they didn't have the abilities to get where they are. Yes he was referring to these SPECIFIC black women THAT time, but he has FREQUENTLY suggested that any black person should have their capacity questioned because there is NO way they could be good enough to do that job.

Article - about Anglican beliefs.

I skimmed the website very quickly. It looks like it's chiefly representative of the ACNA and some of the other Anglican groups in the US that are not part of the Episcopal Church. Insofar as Episcopalians and Continuing Anglicans agree on many things, the site does reflect those large areas of agreement within the broad Anglican tradition.

Our points of disagreement tend to be around inerrancy, gender, and same-sex relationships. I'd have to dive into the site more deeply to see what they say on these topics. The site does have an article opposing same-sex marriage, but I haven't yet found clear statements on inerrancy or on gender roles.

JB Pritzker Claims He Has Never Called Republicans ‘Nazis’ – Gets Proven Wrong by Videos of His Own Words

This is an important time in our country. We need transparency in government and people like Pritzker need to be called out and held accountable. The violent rhetoric needs to stop.
Pfft.

Why? Trump is never held accountable.

Pastors, Evangelical leaders react to the killing of Charlie Kirk: 'A Christian martyr'

A political martyr, yes. A martyr who was a Christian, yes. But calling him a Christian martyr to me suggests he was martyred for the faith. That's not how I see it based upon what I have read.
Hmmm....maaaaybe this is a better way of expressing my thoughts....maybe.

ABC pulls Jimmy Kimmel Live after comments on Charlie Kirk

It's a garbage take, because the "DEI" initiative in diversifying the pilot ranks was in getting more women and minorities into flight school, not in lowering the standards for them once they got there.

But hey, whatever is useful in stoking white resentment, eh?

THE GREAT CONTROVERSY in Baltimore, Maryland

I read chapters 2 and 3 of the book because of this thread, and the nicest possible description I can give of the historical claims is "profoundly ignorant and totally unsubstantiated." Maybe EGW was limited by the books and people she had access to at the time. Modern SDAs do not have such an excuse for distributing falsehoods about the historicity of Sunday worship and belief in the Real Presence of our Lord in the Eucharist.

And at least The Trail of Blood puts some effort into identifying theoretical Baptist predecessors. EGW just kind of hand waves the problem and says there were anonymous true Christians throughout history who didn't venerate icons or worship on Sunday, without anything to back up the claim.
Hence my (yet) unanswered request for historic verification of the existence of THE INVESTIGATIVE JUDGMENT doctrine prior to its revelation to Mrs. White.

ABC pulls 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' off air 'indefinitely' over Charlie Kirk comments

Free speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences.
That cliche, widely and popularly invoked, is perfectly applicable to private actors but not government actors. Translation, the cliche isn’t applicable to the government as the 1st Amendment free speech clause exists to restrain the government from imposing “consequences” because of speech.

My position, to which you invoked the du jour cliche, focused upon government actor(s) and the 1st Amendment IS applicable to the FCC.

So, let’s run it back.

The FCC threat directly towards ABC and Kimmel doesn’t merit any consideration of free speech protections under the 1st Am for you?

Wrong. According to the psychological dictionary, sexual deviancy is any sexual behaviour that is seen to be different from the norms we expect.
Which does not include sex acts that may or may not also be what LGBTQA+ people do too. It includes things like exhibitionism, necrophilia, etc.
You dont think LGBT is sexual deviance because the liberals have tried for decades to normalize it.
Or because I understand the definition of the words better than you do…
I refuse to allow the liberal woke agenda to gain another inch of ground in this culture war.
Good for you, sport. You go ahead and just shout right at that cloud.
Not only are conservatives going to stand their ground, we are going to take back what was lost. Therefore, I reject your argument or opinion. LGBT is by definition, sexual deviation along with beastiality, polygamy, and polyamorism.
It is by no definition that, lol. You can reject it or not, but it doesn’t change the facts. You can reject that 2x2=4, that the earth is round, or that the alphabet starts with “A” for all of me. Doesn’t impact me at all, just lets me know how informed you aren’t or are.

N., Sam M.S., "SEXUAL DEVIANCY," in PsychologyDictionary.org, April 13, 2013,
So that, my friend, is a spoof website run by a fake person and not a legitimate scientific authority.

APA Dictionary of Psychology however, is the actual entry by actual certified people that represent the basic intellectual standard of the industry. It says:

any sexual behavior, such as a paraphilia, that is regarded as significantly different from the standards established by a culture or subculture. Deviant forms of sexual behavior may include voyeurism, fetishism, bestiality, necrophilia, sadism, and exhibitionism.

And for paraphilia it says:

in DSM–IV–TR, any of a group of disorders in which unusual or bizarre fantasies or behavior are necessary for sexual excitement. The fantasies or acts persist over a period of at least 6 months and may take several forms: preference for a nonhuman object, such as animals or clothes of the opposite sex; repetitive sexual activity involving real or simulated suffering or humiliation, as in whipping or bondage; or repetitive sexual activity with nonconsenting partners. Paraphilias include such specific types as fetishism, frotteurism, pedophilia, exhibitionism, voyeurism

So you know what? I’ll go with that… The legitimate definition used by professionals, not the testimony of Dr M. S. Who of Whoville, or you, who has not only a clear bias, but who admitted that when you hear about drag queens reading to children that your mind immediately goes to thinking about the sex acts said drag queen may engage in, which I think is a weird thing to own up to… Seems like that would have done better as an inside thought than an outside one.

ABC pulls Jimmy Kimmel Live after comments on Charlie Kirk

Of course I've heard the clip. Why else would I be talking about it? If you can't figure it out, what he was saying was if there were no such thing as affirmative action, I would not wonder about a black pilot. But because of affirmative action, it can be legitimate to have a concern.

The murder of Charlie Kirk has dealt a substantial blow the the liberal leftist woke machine, by those who are a part of that machine. Massive self-sabotage.
And it's reverberating far outside of America, too.
