Growing up in Adventism here in NSW I've noticed a tendency to demonise Constantine and use him as some kind of line to say in effect "this side of the line Christianity" "this side of the line paganism". I'm not sure if this is related to the fact that he changed the Sabbath day or what, but there seems to be absolutely no nuance or leeway given to the absolute magnitude of what occurred during his early life and reign, nor the complexity of the issues surrounding them. Nor even the fact that to the persecuted Church seeing an entire empire begin to convert, the shutting down and superseding of pagan temples and the compensation/restoration of properties, funds & etc to those who lost it in the persecutions must have seemed like nothing other than a miracle. Also given that the creeds unite our de-centralised Protestant denominations we would be in debt to the tradition of Ecumenical Councils.

I'm just curious, have you guys noticed the same where you live?

Why it is so hard to find a non Works salvation church building

The Churches in my area you click on their website they have the “repent of your sins” to be saved lie, have backloaded works salvation into the gospel meaning they are not saved, or they are non KJV only, dispensationalist, or some other damnable heresy, not to mention the female preachers, contemporary music instead of psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. It is always something that makes these churches false. They might be KJV only, claim soul winning, but then they will turn out to be dispensationalist, Schofield reference bible heretics. or turn around and say that you actually have to have the works to be saved.

The fact is that salvation is a free gift by grace through faith and these people who want to complicate the gospel and add their filthy rag works or commandments of men, church tradition, or other damnable heresies to it, they are going to split hell wide open.

Reformed/Protestant: “Saved by faith alone, but true faith is never alone” “if you’re truly saved you will have the works” “We are not saved by works, but works are the evidence of salvation” "saved by faith, but if you don't have the works you are not saved"

What a load of nonsense! Romans 4:5 says But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

The Works Salvationists will be told to depart Matthew 7:21-23

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The Will of the Father is to believe on the Son (John 6:40) and we see that Jesus says “I never knew you” to the works salvationists. Not “I used to know you but you lost your salvation” No, they never had salvation because they never believed the gospel of grace through faith alone. and they are workers of iniquity because there are none good no not one, there is not a righteous man upon earth. that doeth good and sinneth not. the unsaved think they are righteous, sinless, but in reality they are only deceiving themselves. (1 John 1:8)

The works salvationist is not saved, and calls God a liar 1 John 5:10-11 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

there those who think they are justified by their works will be judged and condemned by their works on the last day. John 12:48 “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”

The only way we are justified, righteous before God is by our faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is a free gift (Romans 5:15) Works justify us in the eyes of man, but are filthy rags before God. Romans 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Romans 3 & 4 alone disproves this backloaded works salvation double-talk

Protestant/Catholic, it’s two sides of the same coin. Protestants teach works salvation they are just dishonest about it, they deceptively backload the works into salvation which in turns damns the soul to hell.

John 2:23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight

Romans 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

The entire Gospel of John is (the only book written to tell us how to have eternal life John 20:31 “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”) Never uses the word repent one time. If we have to repent of our sins to be saved then John really blew it, and the Gospel of John can’t get anybody saved.

The Euthyphro Dilemma

This is more Philosophy of Religion than Theology, though theologians have by no means ignored the issue.

The version originally attributed to Socrates (c470-399 BC) by Plato runs as follows:

Is the pious loved by the Gods because it is pious, or is it pious because it is loved by the Gods?

If the former, the Gods owe allegiance to some higher power than themselves that constrains them, namely, the pious; if the latter the pious is a matter of their whim, and they could equally well not love the pious at all, but, perhaps, the impious, instead, which they could call pious.

In fact, this dilemma can be asked of any authority and moral absolute.

For example; is what is right, right because the party says it is right, or does the party say it is right, because it is right?

But, for me, the formulation that hits the spot, and has afforded me many happy hours of contemplation, is this one:

Is the good, good, because God wills it so, or does God will it so, because it is good?

To the best of my knowledge, this question has yet to be satisfactorily answered.

If the former, the good is merely a divine opinion, and anything that is good could conceivably be otherwise, and anything otherwise could conceivably be good. Genocide, for example, might have been good, and liberty might have been bad. If the latter, then, as before, God owes His allegiance is to something prior and more vital than Himself that constrains Him. I find neither option palatable.

This is how I currently resolve the matter. I consider the moral absolutes to be aspects of Gods nature. The Good, the Just, the Merciful, the Kind, the Right, the Fair, the Beautiful, the True, the Brave, etc, would not exist at all if He did not exist, and He makes them manifest simply by being. God would just not be God if they did not exist and He did not, by Himself being, bring them to be. Just as you would not be you without your nature and did not, by being, bring your nature to be.

The moral absolutes, and God, therefore, are mutually interdependent. To the extent that they exist partially or at all in His world, it is because they are His metaphysical shadow on His creation.

As usual, your comments and criticisms are always welcome.

Best wishes, Strivax.

False Teachers Giving Permission to Sin

Revelation 2:12-13 ESV

“And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: ‘The words of him who has the sharp two-edged sword.
“‘I know where you dwell, where Satan's throne is. Yet you hold fast my name, and you did not deny my faith even in the days of Antipas my faithful witness, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.’

We read in Hebrews 4:12 that “the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” These are the words of Jesus, for Jesus/God is the author of the Scriptures, the living word of God. They cut to the heart and they pierce through the soul in conviction of truth to our consciences and to our hearts.

He knows where we live, every last one of us. And Satan’s throne is on this earth. And so this may be speaking to some of us here on this earth who do hold fast the name of Jesus Christ, and who do not deny the faith that is in Christ Jesus, that is authored and perfected by Christ, and is gifted to us by God, and which is not of our own doing. And some of us may be among those who are being persecuted for righteousness’ sake, and yet we still have not denied the Lord, but we have continued to remain faithful.

Revelation 2:14-15 ESV

“’But I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, so that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice sexual immorality. So also you have some who hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans.’

Now this is speaking to all believers in Jesus Christ in a particular city. So, this covers a large swath of Christians, and since they did not meet in large buildings back then like is customary in our world today, they probably did not all meet together, but they were spread out over multiple locations, how many I do not know. So, it could be that these referenced here who hold to the teachings of Balaam were in only one location or only in a few, but that they were in the minority, hopefully.

But they existed, and this was a problem, because there were those who were accepting false teaching which was granting some Christians permission to do what was sinful. So, the church as a whole over the whole city was being charged with wrongdoing in this matter for they were allowing this to go on and they were not exercising proper church discipline to stop it from taking place.

Now this would be a lot like if the Lord wrote a letter to all Christians collectively in whatever city you live in, and he said something similar. The indication would be that, no matter what fellowship you are a part of, you are still responsible for the spiritual condition of the church in your city, as a whole. For that is how they operated back then, but it is certainly different in our day and time.

So, how can we apply to this to our world today? Certainly if we know of false teaching that is going on within our cities we have an obligation collectively as the body of Christ to speak out against the false teaching and to warn other believers in Jesus to not get caught up in the false teaching. We should be verbal about this. We should not ignore the false teaching that is going on, for many people are being led astray by it.

So, we should do everything within our realm of influence to make people aware of the lies that are being taught and then to proclaim to them the truth in order to save human lives from hell. For many people these days are making false professions of faith in Jesus Christ based off these false teachings, and they are being promised full forgiveness of sin and heaven as their eternal destiny, but they are not being demanded to part from their sins and to follow Jesus in obedience. And so many of them are living in sexual immorality and in other habitual and deliberate sins.

Revelation 2:16-17 ESV

“’Therefore repent. If not, I will come to you soon and war against them with the sword of my mouth. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone that no one knows except the one who receives it.’”

Now, again, the way the church is operated in our day and time, at least here in America, is not the same as it was back then, so I think the only way we can repent of what other congregations are doing, that we have absolutely no say over, is again to be verbal in speaking out against the lies that are being taught in the name of Jesus, exposing them for the lies that they are, and then proclaiming the truth of the gospel to all who will listen in as many places as we have the freedom to share the truth.

And I do believe God is visiting the church in judgment presently because so much of what is called “church” today is following after the ways of man and of the flesh and not after the ways of the Lord Jesus. And so many people who profess faith in Jesus Christ are living not much differently from those who make no profession of faith in Christ. And we have so many charlatans and wolves in sheep’s clothing in our pulpits who are feeding the people lies, and people are flocking to them by the masses.

So, we need to be conquerors. We need to be those who are believing and who are living the truth, and who are not following after the lies. And then we need to be exposing the lies and spreading the truth so that the eyes of the spiritually blind may be opened to the truth, and so they will turn from their sins to follow Jesus Christ in obedience to his ways. And we will be blessed of God in our doing and we will be richly rewarded one day in heaven.

The Prayer

Written by David Foster, Carole Bayer Sager,
Alberto Testa and Tony Renis

I pray you'll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don't know

Let this be our prayer
When we lose our way
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe.

I pray we'll find your light
And hold it in our hearts
When the stars go out each night
Remind us where you are.

Let this be our prayer
When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe.

What's good for the goose...

Christianity as a rule has always spoken out against suicide, as we are not to self determine the expiration of what God had given us, putting our will ahead of His. Does the same principle not apply to those who seek medical attention when they have say appendicitis, a stroke or perhaps sepsis? Could that not have been God's way of cashing in our chips and we in seeking man's help, rebel against His will in that way also, the outcome being all but guaranteed? How many here would have died years ago without human intervention?

Praying in tongues is part of Biblical Christianity

In recent years there has been an explosion of false teaching and false "experiences" that purport to be the baptism with the Spirit and praying in tongues. Criticism using terms like "Charismania" has muddied the waters and created so much doubt, fear and suspicion that many genuine seekers after the baptism with the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit have been spooked and driven away from seeking what they fear could be a demonic counterfeit. The truth is that to receive the genuine baptism with the Spirit, one has to be born again. Most of the "Charismania" crowd are not born again, because in most of their churches and gatherings the Gospel of Christ is never taught. These people don't have a clear view of Jesus bleeding and dying on the Cross for their sins, and have no idea that they need repentance from sin and to show the fruit of it. These people do not represent what being baptised with the Spirit actually is.

To be truly baptised with the Spirit, one has to be born again and showing the fruit of repentance. The Holy Spirit will not fill an unclean vessel that has not received the righteousness of Christ. Being religious, talking the talk, and joining a church is not the same as being born again. True conversion to Christ is a personal transaction between the person and Jesus Christ, and it is from the heart. Man looks on the outward appearance but God looks on the heart.

The baptism with the Spirit is not just "Pentecostal" or "Charismatic". These are just man's labels attached to it. The truth is that it is Biblical Christianity. It is God's idea about how a believer is empowered for service. Tongues is God's way of enhancing a believer's prayer life, to give an extra dimension in prayer, the ability to pray with the Spirit as well as the understanding. If a person says they are filled with the Spirit but does not demonstrate the power of the Spirit in ministry, such as getting people saved, doing powerful intercessory prayer, casting out demons, healing the sick, as is demonstrated in the Book of Acts, then the person is fooling himself and just pretending. He may make a lot of noise in hallelujah hootenanny meetings. but it is just all the steam going out the whistle.

A person who is truly baptised with the Spirit is fully involved in glorifying Jesus, presenting the true Gospel, showing God's compassion toward the sick and suffering. If all the person is doing is jumping around babbling in gibberish in emotionally charged meetings, all they are doing is performing a display in the flesh, and the Holy Spirit is far from them.

Many modern church goers have no idea who the Holy Spirit really is. This is because of incompetent teaching by those who have never experienced him in their lives, or are opposing it. There is a wealth of Scripture that supports the baptism with the Spirit and praying in tongues, but there are no Scriptures that clearly state that these were limited to the Apostolic period. Not one! Those who are using 1 Corinthians 13:10 to say that prophecy and tongues have ceased at the completion of the canon of Scripture are hanging their hats on the nail of a part of a verse out of context. They have made up their opposition out of their own imagination and have scraped the bottom of the barrel to provide some sort of proof text to support their ridiculous false teaching.

If we are to present Jesus to the unconverted, we need the baptism with the Spirit to provide the power and the demonstration of the Spirit instead of just the wisdom of man. If we are to have effective, Biblical prayer lives, we need to pray in the Spirit as well as from out limited understanding.

The Scripture says not to quench the Spirit, nor to forbid praying in tongues, and not to despise prophecy. We are to test all things and hold fast to that which is good.

Understanding the name "I AM that I AM" in Exodus 3:14

PARASHAT: "Shemot" (names) EXODUS 1:1-6:1

We enter into a new era, Jacob/Israel and Joseph are now in the past, yet their legacy continues, in “Am Yisrael” (The People of Israel).

”70 souls” entered Mitzraim (Egypt). It is interesting that the Hebrew word “Nefesh” is used for “souls” yet the word is in the singular, but why? Is there symbolism here? If we are to read this in English, we would read; “70 soul entered Egypt”.

One could say that the word “Nefesh” (Soul) could refer to the whole “Family” of Israel as ONE (Echad) family unit, as we are ONE with Elohim, then all of Israel was ONE as well.

As we know, the "Hyksos kings" were ruling when Joseph came to Egypt. The "Hyksos" were known by the Egyptian title "Heka Khasut" or "foreign rulers of the hill country." They ruled between 1630 and 1530 BCE, during the time of Joseph. It is believed that they came from Western Asia, others think they were Semites or Hittites

hundreds of years later, we have a few million Hebrews. There is a list at the beginning of Exodus of the “B'nei Israel” (the sons of Israel) and they had their children, and their children had children, etc. They remained in the area of “Goshen” along the Nile Delta, farming, and raising cattle, and probably a few became merchants adapting to life in Egypt. They got used to seeing Egyptian deities and probably understood spoken Egyptian. Who knows if many became “Egyptianized” did they bow down to the deities? Let's hope not.

How much did they retain about Adonai? El Shaddai? We don't know, but I am sure that the story of Joseph and how he brought his family to Egypt from Canaan was passed down from family to family. The story of the famine, and how Yosef preserved life in midst of the famine. So “B'nei Israel” multiplied, and the land was filled with the "children of Israel”, and now the Egyptians start to get nervous. In verse 8, problems start;

” And there arose a new king over Egypt who knew not Joseph”

This new king had overthrown the Hyksos rulers, and did not personally know Yosef nor knew of his accomplishments to save Egypt. Some tradition says that in part, the Hebrews had become “Egyptianized” and failed to keep the memory of Yosef alive and what he did.

There are a few ideas of who it might have been. Some believe it might have been “Pharaoh Ahmose or Rameses II" A little on Egyptian words and etymology, the Egyptian word “meses” or “mose” means “born of” so the name “Moshe” or “Moses” is similar to “meses” (born of) or (Taken from).

Since Moses was “Taken from the water, or from the river (The Nile). We ask what might have been the Egyptian name Moses used? The Egyptian word for “river” is “iteru” so, his name might have been “Iterumose” or “Iterumeses” (given ancient Egyptian entomology) There were many “Rameses” it means “Born of the god RA” “Ahmose” probably (born of “Ah”) “Thutmose” (born of the god Thut) and so on. So many pharaohs took on those names.

Also, the title “Pharaoh” is exactly that, a title, not a name. It comes from two Egyptian words; “per” and “o” “Per” = house, and “O” = great. So the title “pharaoh” means “of the Great House” It would be like saying; “I am going to Washington D.C. to see the White House” What you are saying is that you are going to see the president, who “lives” in the White House.

The pharaoh of verse 8 is paranoid and thinks that the Israelites will join up with a foreign enemy to overthrow Egypt again, like in the times of the Hyksos. Now slavery starts and the Hebrews (the Egyptian word is “Hapiru”) are made slaves, and the time of Hebrew prosperity and freedom is over.

Yet Elohim hears the cries of his people, and has selected the tribe of Levi, through a couple; Amran and Jochebed, to bring into the world, “Moshe” who would be a sort of “Mashiach” (like Yosef) to lead Israel OUT of Egypt, in God's appointed time. YHVH has a time for ALL THINGS, we cannot rush God's clock, it ticks slowly for us, yet it ticks out second by second and includes us all in the plan of things.

The throne of Egyptian changes, and the pharaohs continue to be paranoid, one develops a plan to “curb” the birth rate by killing the baby boys, according to the historian 'Ted Stewart' in his book “solving the Exodus Mystery” the pharaoh who ordered the death of the male infants was “Sesostris III” we see that Moshe is adopted by the daughter of this pharaoh.

Moshe grows up in the palace and is raised as a “prince of Egypt” and at the same time, “retaining (inside) his Hebrew identity”. We remember that he kills an Egyptian in defending one of his own. The Pharaoh that sought his death was “Amenemhet III”. Moshe fled and spent 40 years in Midian, upon returning, he faced the Pharaoh “Amenemhet IV” who was the Pharaoh of the Exodus, who pursued the Israelites through the Red Sea, (and didn't quite make it, receiving a very fatal water baptism). (T. Stewart, Solving the Exodus Mystery, www.biblediscoveries.com).

When Moshe fled, there is an interesting verse, 2:15, it says that “Moshe fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian (which is now Saudi Arabia). “And he sat down by a well.”

We can read scripture from a literal standpoint. Yes, Moshe fled and probably went East then South to get to the land of Midian. If he took that direct route (no one knows for sure) it would have been a 250-mile hike. We don’t know how many supplies he took with him, how much water, etc, since he was on the run from Pharoah. But he arrived might thirsty.

A well was a meeting point in those days, so he knew that people would be coming to get water. Sure enough, came Yitro’s daughters to get water and he was there to help and defend the damsels. Yet we need also to look at this from a derashic and symbolic standpoint. Moshe has made contact with the “well”. A water well represents life. Moshe hangs on to life. One of Yeshua’s titles is “The Living Water”. We might look at that well symbolically as “Yeshua, the Well of Living Water (Yeshua, HaBeer Mayim Chayim)

Adonai Showed grace upon grace to Moshe, since he would be his instrument of redeeming Israel from Egyptian bondage. The word for “grace” is “Rachem” and “Rachamim” is the plural form; “a large and plentiful amount of grace” there is “Mayim” in “Rachamim” (spelled with the Hebrew letters) so grace is like plentiful water, and since Yeshua is the “Living Water” He is the author of “grace”. Moshe would be a “Messiah type” who would “take his people out” and that is the meaning of the name “Moshe” (taken out of) so he would live up to his name.

He is something else interesting. How does Moshe represent The Messiah? The word “HaMashiach” is spelled in Hebrew; “Hey, Mem, Sheen, Yod, Chet” and the words “Moshe Chai” (Moses lives) have the “Same Letters!” “Mem, Sheen, Hey, Chet, Yod” in gematria, it equals “363”

When we add 3+6+3 = 12, which is the number of the tribes that Moshe led from bondage. 1+2=3, and “3” is the number that represents “Elohim” who led the people through the wilderness. So, we can conclude that “Moshe lives in Mashiach, and the Spirit of Mashiach lives in Moshe” He was guided by the Spirit of God for 120 years.

Matthew 2:15 states; “Out of Egypt I have called my son” Yeshua went down to Egypt with his parents to escape Herod, they spent some years there and then returned to Israel. Yet also Israel is the son, as he went to Egypt when he was old, and his bones were “carried out” yet Moshe also represents Israel as a nation, and Moshe went out with Israel, and since Moshe symbolizes Mashiach, then, the verse fits both parties (yet primarily, it fits Yeshua first).

This Parashah has so much that I wish to concentrate on the “Calling of Moshe” in chapter three of Shemot God calls to Moshe while he is taking care of Yitro's sheep near Mt. Sinai. A note to mention is that God prepares his servants beforehand, before sending them out on the mission fields, “Midian and the flocks of sheep” were the training grounds and subjects of his training, before leading out “Human sheep” to the land of Midian that “he now knew and was familiar with”

God calls him saying; “Anochi Elohei Aviyha” (I am the God of your father) so the name “Elohei” is used, then he uses a more personal name in verse 14; “Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh” if you can really call it a name, it is translated as I AM that or who I AM, which is really not a name at all. So, what is God trying to convey to Moshe? In a way, he is saying, “Is a proper name so important Moe? Just understand that I EXIST! I have existed in the past, the present, and will exist in the future” the word “Ehyeh” is a form of “Haya” or “Havayah” meaning “to exist” or “the essence of being” from this we get the most sacred name of God: YHVH. The same letters Y H V rearranged form the words; Haya=past Hoveh=present YiYah=future, so the essence of the name "Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh" is the "I am the God who exists, have existed, and who will exist"

HaVaYaH (re-arrange the letters and we get YHVH) modern translators put in vowels to get YeHoVaH and have changed the Y to J to become JEHOVAH, but that is not the original name, there exists no “J” in Hebrew.

The other name used in chapter 3 is “Elohim” “Elohim” said to Moshe...Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh...” “Elohim” is the “all-powerful God of Creation, the Triune God (im) who we know, as Messianic believers, as being EL (father) BEN-YESHUA, (Yeshua the Son) RUACH-HaKodesh (The Holy Spirit).

Elohim has revealed himself to us in human form through YESHUA, and as Moshe leads his people out of the slavery of physical bondage, YESHUA leads us out of the bondage of spiritual slavery of sin, leading us to a new life, in a personal relationship with HIM, as the Israelites entered into a renewed relationship with Elohei starting at Sinai, our relationship starts at Calvary. We are now joined to “His chosen people” through adoption, both native-born in Israel, and those who are from the diaspora, we are all ONE (ECHAD) in Messiah Yeshua Ben David, Ben Adam, and Ben YHVH.

We continue to read and we find in chapter 4 that YHVH sends Moshe back to Egypt to lead his people out. We find that God works through people, some very special, others very ordinary. Yet before sending back Moshe, He prepares him in the desert as a shepherd. One can divide the life of Moshe into three parts, the first 40 years as prince and general in Egypt, the second 40 years as an outcast, yet an instrument in the hands of YHVH, and the last 40 years as leader of Israel.

Before sending him back, there are three signs that YHVH gives Moshe, as “authority”. When we look at these three signs of authority, we see “Yeshua” in these signs. The first was the “Mateh” (The staff). It was common for every household leader to carry a staff, a little more than just a “walking stick”. The “Mateh” was a sign of leadership and authority. But this one would be changed into a serpent when Moshe threw it down before Pharaoh. The serpent was a sign of “kingly authority” in Egypt, as it was a part of the royal headdress that the pharaohs wore.

Shepherds carried a “rod” and a “staff” when leading sheep. The “rod” being a short, heavy club that was used as a weapon, and the “staff” to lead. Yeshua is the “good shepherd” who leads us, who, “crushed the head of the serpent” at Calvary.

The second sign was the sign of “disease and healing of said disease” namely “Tza-arat” (leprosy). We see in the Prophets that Elisha healed Naaman the Syrian of leprosy, and Yeshua also healed the sick, including lepers. Even in the desert, those who were bitten by “serpents” were healed by a “bronze serpent on a staff” (again, returning to the staff and serpent). Yeshua is our healer and heals us of the curse of sin and death.

The third sign was the “water turned to blood” on dry land (4:9). This reminds us of our Messiah Yeshua, who when on the cross, was pierced by a roman spear, and out of his side came “blood and water” and this mixture of “blood and water” fell from the cross on dry land. By his shed blood, we are saved, by Yeshua who is the “living Water”.

If We Be Woke, We Can Drink Wine

What does it mean to be woke? In political circles, certain people are mocked as being woke for their ‘ostensible’ awareness of social issues, being accused of not knowing the full story by those who mock them. But being woke can have a meaning more focused on social issues as they pertain to God. After all, are the First and Second great commandments of Jesus not socially focused, whether on God or on eachother? So anyone who is aware of God and carries that awareness forward to having faith in Him and acting in accordance with that faith, is woke.

The Bible tells us to be focused on God. Ephesians 5:14 says “For anything that becomes visible is light.” Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” To be awake is a form of being focused. And commentators tell us that the “dead” referred to here are the sinners in our midst. And to sleep is to not be focused on God and related matters.

So, the Bible tells us to be ever mindful, watchful, and sober in God. Colossians 3:2 says “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” 1 Corinthians 16:13 says to be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men and be strong. 1 Thessalonians 5:6 says to “let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.”

What’s that? You ask how is it possible to drink wine and be sober? Well, God through the Scriptures infers that it’s possible, and the Scriptures encourage us to drink wine in certain circumstances. 1 Timothy 5:23 says “(No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments.)”

And Jesus had no objection to wine being imbibed at a wedding. There is a faintly humorous incident described in John 2:1-11 in which Jesus and his mother attended a wedding. When the wine at the wedding ran out, Jesus’ mother says to him in Verse 3 that there’s no wine left. Jesus’ reaction in Verse 4 is, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” One may wonder why Jesus doesn’t call his mother ‘Mom,’ or something similar, but commentators assure us that to call his mom “woman” was a sign of respect n those days. Commentators in Verse 4 say that Jesus’ “hour” he’s referring to, is the time when he is to publicly perform miracles. This is important, because Jesus does end up performing a miracle at the wedding involving the wine, when he turns pitchers of water into it. And the miracle here is not really public because Verse 9 infers that only the servants who brought the pitchers of water-turned-into-wine to the master of the wedding feast knew of the water having been turned into wine.

So what is the Bible telling us? It tells us we can drink wine, but we are to be sober to God’s Endeavors concerning us. So, drink wine responsibly so as to avoid the sins and neglectfulness that too much drinking can lead us to. And keep God in your thoughts and prayers and not waver.

Holiness

Leviticus 20:8 (NIV)

I am the Lord who makes you holy.

Holiness is not innocence. Innocence is ignorance of evil, but that doesn't make a man holy. On the contrary, holiness is the ability to test the spirits (1 John 4:1), discern between good and evil (Hebrews 5:14), and the ability to choose good (1 John 3:9).

Adam and Eve were innocent. God intended for them to obey Him and grow into His fullness. They were supposed to grow in discernment and wisdom until they were like God. Instead, they chose the easier way, sinned, and were cast out.

Ever since, men have professed ignorance of wrongdoing. A man who breaks the law is guilty of sin. Even if he claims innocence or ignorance, he still sinned against the Lord. The Apostle Paul goes to the extent of destroying all pretexts of innocence (Romans 1:22-32). This tells us that no one is innocent in God's sight.

Never trust a man who says, "I don't know." Such men rely on their natural sympathies and bless and legalize immorality. That's an abomination to God. It's much easier to trust a man who does know what he's doing and can provide a justification for it, even if others disagree. That's precisely why we come to Christ. Because He knows who He is and what He can do for us (John 14:6). Many disagree (Matthew 7:13), but we worship Him (Luke 24:52).

Is Calvinism a heresy?

The Catholic Church does not consider Calvinism, a theology developed by John Calvin in the 16th century, to be heretical. However, it does disagree with certain aspects of Calvinist theology, particularly the belief in double predestination, the doctrine that God predestines some individuals to eternal salvation and others to eternal damnation. The Catholic Church teaches that God desires the salvation of all humanity, and that every person has the free will to accept or reject God's grace.

The Catholic Church also disagree with the beliefs of the "Limited atonement" which is the belief that Jesus died only for the elect. The Catholic Church teaches that Jesus died for all humanity, and that his sacrifice on the cross is sufficient for the salvation of all people.

In summary, while the Catholic Church does not consider Calvinism to be heretical, it disagrees with certain aspects of Calvinist theology, particularly the belief in double predestination and limited atonement.

Life Story - Now I can speak with demons, angels, and Gods (yes Gods with a plural s)

Hello my name is Yang and I wish to share with you some of the events that have occurred to me. I was born in China and I came over to the United States when I was three years old. At the age of eleven I got something called OCD. Its when you open a water bottle but something is a little off so you think your mom poisoned the water and you have to do a repeated action to fix it like screwing the bottle cap back on perfectly. You may step on a crack and this means you’ll be a loser forever so you have to rewalk over the same place and avoid the crack. Well I had this and it was physical rituals at first but then it evolved into mental rituals. I did so many mental rituals that it eventually gave me a nerve spasm. Basically, I thought too much. Now parts of my body are numb and my memory is a bit shot. When it got this bad I wanted to be a better person and so I converted to Christianity. I went all out and lost six years of my life right off the bat. I fell into masturbating because I read a book. Then, I lost another year of my life because I got angry at a nun. So seven years of my life were lost right off the bat. I continued though. I stuck with it, or in other words I kept doing my best at practicing the faith. Eventually, I read a book titled The Dialogue of St Catherine of Siena. This saint is a doctor of the Catholic Church. In other words her teachings are high and extraordinary. This book stirred the faith in me and rekindled my zeal for the faith. I eventually started doing God’s will (I tried to do his will). This got me into trouble with the police and I got sent to jail, mental institutions, and my name was in the newspaper as some mentally deranged delinquent. I pushed through all this and eventually I drew down the grace of miracles. According to my miracles I fixed ISIS, and I fixed North Korea (I don’t think I fixed either of them though.). I think the miraculous visions happened to spurn me on to keep doing God’s will or to show the love. Anyways the visions happened when I was 24 years old to 25 and 27 to 28. I am currently 28 years old. With the visions and voices at age 28 I discovered (I’m not 100% sure) that God used something called leeway. Basically you do a good deed and you earn leeway points. Leeway by definition is an allowable variation of freedom or tolerance. Well basically God did so many good deeds that he earned himself something called infinite leeway and he was using it to accord people heaven forever and hell forever. He created the human race, modern technology, the heavens and the earth with it (Leeway was eventually figured out to be a demonic spirit). According to my miracles, the Holy Spirit said he used leeway for one million years. Aside from this I also loved the Holy Spirit well and she took a risk (I can’t remember the exact details as I believe a demon has taken my memory). Now the whole host of heaven knows that there is not just one God but multiple Gods from other Universes or other infinities. If I remember correctly, the Holy Spirit thought there was something more and she and I took a risk. At first there was an old spirit of God looming around and then we met the Spirit of Truth and it continued from there. I can’t remember all the details as my memory is shot and a demon keeps taking it away. Anyways, that’s how we figured out there were multiple Gods. I can now speak to demons, angels and sometimes these Gods. What are your thoughts about this? Is it baloney? Am I just hallucinating? Or is it real and there are some heavy consequences that follow (as I believe though I’m not 100 percent sure, heaven is destroyed right now and the spirit realm is messed up.) Also if any helpful souls would like, could you share with me any groups you know that want to make the world a better place? I know the Culture Project is one. Basically, I’m looking for groups who want to make the world a better place.

Trump campaign money

Call me a communist socialist but I believe my political donations should not go to the business interests and properties of the person who is seeking my vote.

i mean its right from Conways mouth

Kellyanne Conway says 2020 election should've been a 'blowout' for Trump but his campaign squandered a $1.6 billion war chest. Millions went into merchandise and Trump properties.

He already gifted America during one presidential Cy. He continues to do it to hilarious and transparent effect hilarious.

And folks will consider him a great president as he stole their money.

ECT as the uncompleted story of humankind - the plan to fail?

Eternal conscious torment (ECT)
Should this be the end of the vast majority of humankind?
It seems a catastrophic failure in planning. Or a plan gone terribly wrong.
Who should we blame?

Anyone who has read the Bible knows that God loves a good story.

- The Israelites cross the Red Sea on dry land narrowly escaping the Egyptian army in hot pursuit.
- The walls of Jericho come tumbling down with a shout after the Israelites march around the city once a day for seven days.
- Elijah and the prophets of Baal. Fire came down from heaven and consumed Elijah's drenched sacrifice, the water, and even the stones.
- Jesus was crucified, but then rises from the dead.

And many, many more. You get the idea.

What about the end of the story of humankind? The final judgment. How should that story end?

Most say it ends with the "damned" being tormented forever with no hope of escape.
Something about this story doesn't fit God's usual MO. Too many loose ends.

An uncompleted story. No resolution. Sin unresolved forever.
The "punishment for sin" an eternal blemish on the story of humankind.

Was this God's plan, or humankind's general misunderstanding of God's plan?

Did God really plan to end the story with the vast majority of humankind cast into a forever burning hell?
Seems pointless. Even those who weren't incinerated are left wondering about loved ones who didn't "make it".
And wondering if they will be next.

What if the story of humankind came full circle?
Could God have a plan that brought restoration to all of his creation?

Or should the whole thing end in the smoking dumpster of hell?
Seems such a waste. God loves a good story. Nothing good about THAT story!

Romans 8:20-21 ESV
For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly,
but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself
will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain
the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

What should we call ourselves? "Christian", or "Christ follower"? Or... ???

The title "Christian" seems to carry with it many bad connotations.
Many have abandoned the title preferring "Christ follower".

I'm not sure I am totally comfortable with "Christ follower" either.
Because...
Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. - 1 John 2:6 NIV

Which means what?
Leave everything behind to join a group of homeless people that travel from
town to town healing the sick, casting out demons, and raising the dead?

What to do, what to do... ???

Landlord threatening, harassing, intimidating and provoking -

I know this is small compared to other things going on around the world
But I've never had to deal with this before.

My parents are older and this is un necessary strain on them.

Our landlord showed up un announced yesterday with the purpose to accuse us at the house that we had another tenant living here that we were not telling him about. A landlord is legally required to give 24 hours notice before visiting the property.

So I was in the garage and he started in at me asserting that he knew someone else was living here. I asked him if he had any evidence and I think he said someone told him this and because our water bill was too high which he does not pay for anyways. The house was peaceful and I was having a good day up until this happened. Anyways he kept accusing me of this which put me in a defensive position and because I became defensive he then started accusing me of arguing with him and started threatening with the word eviction. I guess I could have handled the situation better but he shouldn't have been at the house in the first place. I am usually calm and rational. I'm just afraid hes going to use this situation as an excuse to raise the rent and/or try to evict us. I just ask for some prayer that this gets resolved without any further unnecessary actions.

I ask for prayer that he realizes that we support him financially and realizes that he should show appreciation for that and start asking himself how he can allow us to have a reasonable living environment which we pay for every month. I know how ridiculously small this is but it's happening.

Thank you.
