  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Twitter declares ‘factual error’ in Biden tweet boasting about economy, wages

President Biden was fact-checked by Twitter once again on Monday for a claim he made about his economic policies increasing workers’ wages since the pandemic.

“Right now, real wages for the average American worker is” — sic — “higher than it was before the pandemic, with lower wage workers seeing the largest gains,” Mr. Biden wrote on Twitter. “That’s Bidenomics.”

Twitter Community Notes quickly attached a warning for readers that Mr. Biden’s “claim about real wages contains a factual error.”

Biden is posting disinformation on Twitter?!?

Where is his Ministry of Truth to save us?

Building Yourself Up In The Spirit

JUDE 1
:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Step One: Building yourself up DAILY

Acts 20:32 So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up
and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

Colossians 2:
6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught,
abounding in it with thanksgiving.

Thoughts and suggestions for practicum if you please

A guest preacher once ministered by making the comparison of praying in the Spirit to the winter snow pack,
that keeps a supply of fresh water through the dry months. I find this still must be applied to a knowledge of
the Lord's Will for us individually and as a part of our fellowship.

Praying in the Spirit, as v. 20 indicates, is an act of faith.

How To Respond To People Who Hate God

I recently tried to witness to a man whom had childhood trauma and even speaking to him about the love of God put him into a rage. He further said to me to look at all of the evil in this world and what happens to innocent children and good people. I have never met a man so full of rage and hate for God before. He was ashamed for coming out of the closet unwillingly and being exposed, after trying to hide being gay for many years. He said God never helped him or any innocent and abused children. Evil in the world and unanswered prayers seems to be the main reason why people hate God

Trump and Allies Forge Plans to Increase Presidential Power in 2025

If he were to win....

Their plans to centralize more power in the Oval Office stretch far beyond the former president’s recent remarks that he would order a criminal investigation into his political rival, President Biden, signaling his intent to end the post-Watergate norm of Justice Department independence from White House political control......
Mr. Trump intends to bring independent agencies — like the Federal Communications Commission, which makes and enforces rules for television and internet companies, and the Federal Trade Commission, which enforces various antitrust and other consumer protection rules against businesses — under direct presidential control.....
He wants to revive the practice of “impounding” funds, refusing to spend money Congress has appropriated for programs a president doesn’t like — a tactic that lawmakers banned under President Richard Nixon.
He intends to strip employment protections from tens of thousands of career civil servants, making it easier to replace them if they are deemed obstacles to his agenda. And he plans to scour the intelligence agencies, the State Department and the defense bureaucracies to remove officials he has vilified as “the sick political class that hates our country.....
And for some veterans of Mr. Trump’s turbulent White House who came to question his fitness for leadership, the prospect of removing guardrails and centralizing even greater power over government directly in his hands sounded like a recipe for mayhem.
“It would be chaotic,” said John F. Kelly, Mr. Trump’s second White House chief of staff. “It just simply would be chaotic, because he’d continually be trying to exceed his authority but the sycophants would go along with it. It would be a nonstop gunfight with the Congress and the courts.”......
Personal power has always been a driving force for Mr. Trump. He often gestures toward it in a more simplistic manner, such as in 2019, when he declared to a cheering crowd, “I have an Article 2, where I have the right to do whatever I want as president.”

Warren Buffett and the $4 Cup of Coffee

Anyone feel sorry for the lady?

How do you wait for the Kingdom of God?

Mark 15.43 TPT: So a prominent Jewish leader named Joseph, from the village of Ramah, courageously went to see Pilate and begged to have custody of the body of Jesus. Joseph was a highly regarded member of the Jewish council and a follower of Jesus, who was eagerly awaiting the kingdom of God.

LESSON:
To eagerly await the kingdom is not a passive activity, but one that requires progressive preparation on our part so that we may be found worthy to partake in it when it comes. "And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming (1 John 2.28), "All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure (I John 3.3). Therefore, be diligent in prayer, in the word (studying, meditating, and practicing), communion with the Lord Holy Spirit, and fellowship with brethren so that you will grow and be prepared, having oil (Zoe), not only in your lamp (your human spirit) but also in your vessel (flesh - soul & body).

Dietary laws from Adam to the apostles

Before the Fall, Adam and Eve were vegetarians, Genesis 1:
29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

After the flood, Noah was allowed to eat meat, Genesis 9:
3 Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
But there was a catch:
4 But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
Don't eat blood.

For the Israelites, Leviticus 17:
14 For the life of every creature is its blood: its blood is its life. Therefore I have said to the people of Israel, You shall not eat the blood of any creature, for the life of every creature is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.

Furthermore, there was a distinction between clean and unclean Food, Leviticus 11:
1 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 2“Say to the Israelites: ‘Of all the animals that live on land, these are the ones you may eat: 3You may eat any animal that has a divided hoof and that chews the cud.

Targeting the Gentiles, the Lord told Peter in Acts 10:
15 The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”

James arrived at a compromise between the influences of Jews and Gentiles, Acts 15: The Jerusalem Council declared in Acts 15:
28 For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements: 29a that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled

In the final analysis, for us today, Mark 7:
19 For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)

Paul was emphatic, Romans 14:
14 I am convinced and fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean.
17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
20a Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean

Foods law was strange teaching, Hebrews 13:
9 Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.

Colossians 2:
16 do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink.

It is reiterated in 1 Timothy 4:
3 They [demons] will prohibit marriage and require abstinence from certain foods

In fact, demons will make dietary requirements.
that God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For every creation of God is good, and nothing that is received with thanksgiving should be rejected, 5 because it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Jesus gave us the freedom to eat. Follow your conscience.

Death Working In A Believer's Life

2 Corinthians 4:
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—
10 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.
11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
12 So then death is working in us, but life in you.

13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,
14 knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

1 SAMUEL 2

22 Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

23 And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people.

24 Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the Lord's people to transgress.

A SLAP ON THE WRIST

Eli was the High priest, his sons were priests also, but they where a disgrace to their calling. Not only were they thieves, but they were fornicators.

These women came to worship God, but these two evil men used and abused their power.

The Lord eventually dealt with them and rightly so, but why did it have to come to that?

I have heard it enough times, some Christian is living in sin and I hear this:
我已经听过很多次了。有些基督徒生活在罪中,然后我听到这样的话:

You can't judge him/her

You should look at your own life first.

You should show them love

They have been members of the church a long time, we can't drive them away.

Eli knew that what they were doing was sinful, he was the stereotypical bad parent or even pastor, whatever their child or church member do, they tolerate, they don't want to rock the boat, they can't correct their children/church members, that is too harsh by far.

Now I realise that God hardened their hearts, because of their indifference, but Eli was at fault here, he should have dealt firmly, in banning these evil men from the priest's office, the things they were doing, were worthy of severe punishment or even death.

Virtually the same scenario happened in Numbers 25, what happened these two were pierced through by Phinehas. So why didn't this happen with these two evil men?

I hear this all the time, something happens in a church, some Christian is in sexual sin and after multiple rebukes refuses to change his/her behaviour. We need to deal with sin in the house of God, not wait and say, let's wait and pray and let God handle it. He has given us pastors and deacons with authority to deal with this, but how often do they act like Eli and give a slap on the wrist, when they need to deal with the sin like Phinehas did and kill it, that is to disallow fellowship to that person.

Time to clean house Church, judgement begins at the house of God.

God wants a pure church.

1 TIMOTHY 1

18 This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightiest war a good warfare;
19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck

HOLDING ONTO YOUR FAITH

Hey Christian, YOU are in a WAR!!

Timothy had to do certain things and we must do these things also.

We need to war a good warfare, we need to realise that our enemy, although he is defeated, is still dangerous.

To wage a good warfare, we have to hold onto our faith tightly. In one verse it says that we have to "cling tightly" to it. We can do this because God first clings tightly to us!

Also, we need to have a clear conscience. That is to have short accounts with God, to confess our sins to Him, knowing that we will receive forgiveness.

Some Christians or some so-called Christians, have not done these things.

Look at what has happened to them. Their lives are a wreck!

I hope your life is not a shipwreck。

Swatch LGBT Watches Seized in Malaysia - Swatch wants them back

Actually I'm not sure what Swatch was expecting. If you do business in another nation, you're bound by their societal norms and laws there. My country Malaysia is none to "gracious" to open displays of LGBT. That is no secret. That's why for most LGBT Malaysians they keep a low profile. Is it ideal? No, but it what it is.

To openly promote LGBT is asking for trouble. So is it any of a surprise Swatch LGBT watches got confiscated. The fact that they got away with it in previous years does not mean that the government is okay with it. Just so you know Malaysia is 60 - 65% Muslim. They are also quite religious.

One may see it as standing up for the minority LGBT in Malaysia. However the flip side will see it as a disrespect of local customs and sensitivities. What you feel really depends on which side of the fence you're on. But one thing is for certain, it was a foolish move. Malaysians are not ignorant of what is happening in the west. You can bet every last penny that we know of the "displays" in the Pride Marches.

I'm not seeing any chance that Swatch's filing going anywhere. To make things worst for themselves, they have gotten into the radar of the authorities. They will definitely find it harder to import their watches into Malaysia even if the models are not LGBT ones.

Prayers for relocation, please.

Hi, everybody. I posted about this before, and then I thought my problem was resolved as some money was due to me from my deceased granddad's estate; I though it might enable me to move back home, but as it turns out, the money was not a large enough amount to make a move with.

I'm not happy where I currently live. I've not seen my hometown and family for over four years. I lost all of my inheritance money to a glib swindler in July 2020 and my life's been tough since then. I get only a small disability grant for my mental-health issues. I have an aunt in my hometown who helps financially, but she's very hesitant about me moving back. Finances, practicalities, my past behaviour of being erratic. (I was severely traumatized by the deaths of my grandparents/adoptive parents and have been struggling to find stability - I believe I'm okay now, but so many people still seem to believe I can't make it out there in the world by myself.)

I pray about this matter constantly and I do what I can to find a new place to live. I'm humbly asking for your prayers that the right place will open up and that my aunt will help me to make the change. Thank you, God bless.

Woman, Why are You Weeping?

Jesus Christ was betrayed to the death by one of this twelve disciples, Judas Iscariot. He was then arrested and placed on trial for a crime he did not commit. He was beaten, mocked, spat upon, had a crown of thorns placed on his head, and sent to a cross to hang there and die for our sins. And then he was buried in a tomb. But on the third day God the Father resurrected him from the dead, and now the stone in front of the tomb was removed.

So, when Mary Magdalene saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb, she ran to tell Simon Peter and John, two of Jesus’ disciples. So both of them ran to the tomb and they saw that Jesus’ body was gone. But as of that time they still did not understand the Scriptures, that Jesus must rise from the dead, even though Jesus and the Scriptures had told them that he was going to rise from the dead. Then they went back to their homes.

John 20:11-18 ESV

But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb. And she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet. They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.” Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher). Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”—and that he had said these things to her.

Mary deeply loved the Lord. And she was very sad that he had died and that now his body was not in the tomb. For she didn’t really comprehend Jesus’ predictions concerning his death and resurrection, either (Matthew 17:22-23; Mark 9:30-32).

And sometimes we may get sad over things going on in our own lives, and part of the reason for our sadness is because we don’t fully comprehend the words of our Lord, either. We understand to a point, but not with total clarity. We believe him. We believe his words. But we don’t really get the vastness of their meaning and how widespread is the meaning of what he said. And some of that is just because we live in flesh bodies and we are not yet in our heavenly bodies, so here on earth we only know and understand in part.

And what is jumping out at me here are the words of the angels and the words of Jesus to Mary, “Woman, why are you weeping?” We weep for many different reasons but sometimes it is because we don’t fully understand what is going on and why and where it is all going to lead. But we don’t have to understand it all to serve Jesus with our lives. We don’t have to have all our questions answered. Some things we are not going to understand until we get to heaven, and that’s okay. We just need to rest in Jesus.

But I love the way that Jesus comforted her. He was so gentle with her. He was so tender with her knowing that she didn’t understand what was going on but seeing her tender heart and how much she loved the Lord. And then what did he do? He sent her, a woman, to go tell his disciples (men) what Jesus had said to her. And what was her response? She believed him, and she did what he said to do, and she told his disciples what he had told her to tell them.

So, what is the lesson here? What can we learn from Mary’s encounter with Jesus? For one, what stands out to me here was Mary’s tender heart toward the Lord, her love for him, and her childlike faith. She trusted the Lord and she did what he said, although I am certain she did not have all her questions answered. And the Lord used her to speak his words to his disciples, even though she was a woman. So, why did Jesus use her? Why did he entrust to her the task of giving his message to his disciples? Because he knew she would obey him.

So, what else can we gain from this? I think one of the things is that we don’t have to understand everything. We don’t have to be able to explain everything. Now this is not an excuse for willful neglect of God’s word nor for deliberate disobedience to the truth of God’s word, claiming ignorance. This is just saying that we don’t have to understand it all to serve the Lord and to obey him. And we don’t have to be biblical scholars before we can share the good news of our salvation from sin. But we should be students of God’s word. And we should be seekers of truth.

For Jesus Christ used Mary to share his words with his disciples because she was a woman of simple faith who believed the Lord and who trusted him even when she didn’t understand everything, and even when she was hurting inside. He used her because of her tender heart towards the Lord and because of her love for him. And those are admiral qualities. For far too many people are full of head knowledge and the wisdom of this world, and so they are often resistant to having childlike faith which trusts the Lord and obeys him. So we need to be people of childlike faith who obey our Lord.

No Less

An Original Work / March 19, 2012

I can do no less than praise You,
Lord, for all You’ve done for me.
You died for my sins to save me,
So I would be set free.
I adore You! Lord, I praise You!
Jesus, Savior, King of kings!
You provided my redemption.
Your grace has pardoned me.

I can do no less than serve You.
Lord, Your witness I would be,
Telling others of Your love,
And why You died on that tree.
Tell of how You gave of Your life,
So from sin we’d be set free,
So we could worship You forever,
And live eternally.

I can do no less than love You,
Lord, for You have first loved me.
You gave of Your life so willing,
Because You cared for me.
Turn from my sin! Obey freely!
Live for You each passing day.
Read Your word, and follow Your lead,
Lord, as I humbly pray.

Detransitioners of once minors - A regret too late & a recourse not available

I seriously don't know why certain people think it is okay to allow minors to transition. I lied I know why, I just can't say it out without some people thinking of a phobic label to mark me. God forbid feelings might be hurt. I'm all for when you're a legal adult do unto yourself what you want. Because for most with age comes maturity. You're able to discern the consequences of your actions. You're better suited to adjusting mentally and emotionally to the choices you make.

Minors on the other hand are ill equipped to handle the peer pressure and authority exerted on them. And we all know how low the threshold is in western society to deem a person LGBT. A mention of I don't feel like myself is enough for teachers and medical professionals to think the worst of you. And these are the kind of people that egg the minors into all sort of permanent life altering choices. Affirming them when the minors themselves are not mentally matured to re-evaluate.

Now we are seeing a host of detransitioners. There are more than one of such videos. People who said they were wrong after they reached adulthood. Problem with de-transitioners is that there is no detransitioning. There is no biologically growing back the parts you surgically removed. There is no undoing the effect of hormones you had taken. All you're left is what you're now - sorry to say a monstrosity that you yourself can't live with.

So the question is why are the adults who affirmed the minors not being taken to task. Punished or have their licenses (teaching or medical) revoked? Silly question actually because the answer is obvious - they are protected by the administrations who are pro-lgbt agenda. And speaking up against them is akin to treason. So the detransitioners have little recourse (if any at all). The true victims.

They have my sympathies but what good are that? My feelings undo nothing. They still need to live with the choices made (made for them) till they draw their last breath.

That's why many western parents say "Leave the kids alone".

A positive update and testimony for those struggling.

Hi sisters and brothers!

Im sorry I haven’t been as active recently,I didn’t want to make it seem like I left, that’s something I’ll never do;but anyways this past month I’ve improved massively.Though I haven’t found a church, much to my sadness.
I have strengthened against satans lies and intrusive thoughts alike, and they cause me no emotional or mental distress or fear.I love these periods of peace and am eternally grateful and thankful to the father for it.Unfortunately I know I will face more in the future, but I’m eager to face them head on and fight the devil, even though he’s much more powerful,I hate him and his lies.

But also I want to provide a testimony to anyone struggling:

“My friend,I understand what you’re going through,I’ve battled the throws of OCD for 5 years now,I’ve encountered almost every ocd trial in the books, even my scariest obsession ,apostasy(don’t look that up),however something has been on my mind since last week,I was walking a cart back into my local Walmart and I saw a mother wheeling her autistic daughter(May the Lord bless her heart) inside and what came into my mind when I saw her was Jesus’s words about the man born blind.

And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.

2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.”John 9:1-3

Something at that moment after I remembered those verses resonated in me that made me look back on these years I’ve walked with the lord and loved him and I’ve seen exactly what this meant in relation to my life.My friend, never ever see OCD as a curse,if anything consider it a blessing,as confusing as it may sound if you’re reading this in downright terror, something I’ve learned is this “would I have sought after and loved the Lord if I never had OCD?” And I can surely answer “No” had I not been allowed to suffer OCD,I never would’ve faithfully, lovingly clinged to Jesus.
My friend,I was born with OCD SO God could work his work within me,and my sanctification proves that.

My testimony to you my friend,is that you NEVER EVER EVER GIVE UP ON JESUS,NEVER!,keep going, life here is but a twinkle, suffering OCD may seem like an eternity, but the trials I’ve faced have done nothing but greatly benefit me.Always remember Romans 8:28 and Philippians 1:6.Never see ocd as a curse, and remember the greatest contributors and fellow believers were sufferers of OCD themselves, the two most prominent ones Were Martin Luther himself and John Bunyan!

Remember this testimony my friends;brothers;& sisters with OCD.

If any of you are in the throes of OCD and it’s terrors, please never hesitate to reach out to me!

I have been told that St. Paul did not write all the epistles....

I am in my early 70's, and never heard this until about two years ago,

I first heard it from a Presbyterian minister, who said that the later Pauline letters seemed to be more 'institutional' in that they wanted Christianity to be more in sync with the Roman Empire in order to spread the faith.

I later asked a Catholic sister that question and to my surprise, she concurred with the Presbyterian minister and said she had heard that from a number of sources.

I then looked at Wikipedia:

There is nearly universal consensus in modern New Testament scholarship on a core group of authentic Pauline epistles whose authorship is rarely contested: Romans, 1 and 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Philippians, 1 Thessalonians, and Philemon. Several additional letters bearing Paul's name are disputed among scholars, namely Ephesians, Colossians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Timothy, and Titus. Scholarly opinion is sharply divided on whether or not Colossians and 2 Thessalonians are genuine letters of Paul. The remaining four contested epistles – Ephesians, as well as the three known as the Pastoral epistles (1 and 2 Timothy, and Titus) – have been labeled pseudepigraphical works by most critical scholars.[3][4][5] Some scholars have proposed that Paul may have used an amanuensis, or secretary, in writing the disputed letters,[6] although such a solution would not explain the fact that the disputed letters appear to have been written at least a decade after Paul’s death. Authorship of the Pauline epistles - Wikipedia
I would really like to hear from Christians of all denominations as to what you have been told about Paul's letters. The Presbyterian minister is very progressive, and we are jointly involved in several interfaith social justice ministries. My Catholic sister friend, on the other hand, has a similar religious background to mine and I respect and trust her insights.

Thanks for participating in this discussion; I honestly don't know what to think. St. Paul has written things I find quite controversial--and now I find myself thinking that things like "slaves, obey your masters," and "wives, obey your husbands" must obviously be some of the ideas that aren't really his. (I guess that's because I try to think the best of people, especially saints.) But as I said, I am uncertain...
