Growing up I never really knew what I was good at. Until about 3 years ago I found it. Music Production. Everything just clicked with my brain and I understood it all. Since then I have practiced and practiced and God willing, I've become pretty good (don't mean to have this sound like im tooting my own horn, I just dont know how to say it otherwise overtext). How can I use this gift for God? I dont rlly know what God wants me to do with it.

Anybody who has spent any time in Scripture will come up with questions. We read things that seem harsh or "unfair." That is because we look at things through human eyes. In Eze 18:25,29, 33:17,20, God is accused of being unfair. In Rom 3:5 and 9:14, Paul states that some claim God is unrighteous. Abraham questioned God, Gen 18:25.
Psalm 145:17 and other verses proclaim that God is righteous in all He does. We must remember that God is not a man, doesn't think like a man, and doesn't do things as a man thinks things should be done. God is working His plan how He has purposed to do it. He has is own agenda to follow. People would be much better off if they saw how they fit into God's plan.

In Eph 1:11, ...according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will. "All things" means exactly that, not some things.

Is 14:24 The Lord of hosts has sworn, "Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass. As I have purposed, so shall it stand.

Isaiah 46:10-11 Declaring the end from the beginning...My counsel shall stand, and I will do all of my pleasure...yea, I have spoken it, I will bring it to pass.

I think about Nineveh. God sent Jonah to warn the city of coming destruction if the people didn't repent. We all know what happened. Nineveh was a wicked city, or rather a city filled with wickedness. But so were Sodom and Gomorrah. The Nations Israel defeated were so wicked that God had commanded the Jews to either destroy or drive them out of the promised land. The Philistines were wicked, a thorn in the side of Israel for hundreds of years, until David finally defeated them and absorbed their territory into the nation. I want to point out that there is nothing in Scripture about any "degree" of wickedness," i.e., this place or people were more wicked than others and that one city or people were to be punished because they were more wicked than others. Wicked is wicked.
Sodom and Gomorrah. God purposed to destroy these two cities, and He did. He didn't have Abraham or Lot warn these cities of the coming destruction, and the people weren't given a chance to repent. When asked, "Why Nineveh and not Sodom and Gomorrah, the standard answer is that God "knew" that Nineveh would repent, but Sodom and Gomorrah wouldn't. While that is convenient, it isn't correct.

Jesus taught that the people of Sodom would have repented and changed their ways if given the chance,

Mat 11:23 And you, Capernaum, exalted unto heaven, shall be brought down to hell. If the mighty works which have been done in your presence had been done in Sodom, I tell you Sodom would still be in existence today.

Pretty clear what Jesus said. If the city of Sodom had witnessed the same miracles and healings Jesus had performed in and around Capernaum, the people of Sodom would have repented, and the city would not have been destroyed.

Mat 11:21 Woe to you, Chorazine, and Bethsaida! If the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sidon and Tyre (in the Old Testament days), they would have repented in sackcloth and ashes long ago.

Capernaum, Bethsaida, and Chorazine were all located close together, and all had seen or knew about the miracles and works of Jesus. Yet the huge majority did not believe in him. Some people believe that if others could see a miracle, they would believe. This is not true. Many people had seen Jesus do miracles and healings, yet never believed. Jesus condemned these three cities because they were witnesses to the power of God but rejected Jesus. How often did people demand that Jesus do a miracle on the spot?

So, to answer the question, obviously, it was God's purpose that Nineveh not be destroyed during the time of Jonah (Even though God had Nineveh destroyed 200-plus years later) and it was God's purpose that not only would Sodom and Gomorrah be destroyed, but that they would never exist again.

Dante's depiction of Hell in his literary work, "The Divine Comedy," is not found in the Bible. While the Bible does contain descriptions of punishment for the wicked, such as the "lake of fire" in Revelation, Dante's portrayal of Hell includes many elements and levels that are not described in the Bible.

Dante's vision of Hell is based on his own personal beliefs and experiences, as well as the teachings of his time, which included both Christian and classical sources. His depiction of Hell is primarily a work of fiction, intended to convey moral and theological ideas through vivid imagery and allegory.

Therefore, the concepts and imagery of Dante's Hell are not explicitly found in the Bible, and his work should not be interpreted as a literal representation of the Bible's teachings on Hell.

As someone who isn't a Muslim but can kind of sympathize with there being virgins or sexual relationships in the hereafter or next life, I think some people actually make fun of Islam for teaching the concept that there is enjoyment of sex in Heaven. I think it is nonsense and kind of hypocritical because God created Adam and Eve and created human sexuality and the body. And he said all of that was very good. There are also people on this planet who are unhappily single and long for the kind of intimate physical and spiritual bond that couples enjoy, and like it or not also have sexual fantasies that remain unfulfilled. But because we live in a fallen and unfair world, these people can't obtain it for one reason or another, especially in the "proper" God-designed way.

Pope Francis' ecumenical relations with Muslims has become one of the key aspects of his pontificate, yet in doing so he ignores the fundamental fact that ‘Islam in itself is not faith.’

On February 16, the Abrahamic Family House (AFH) held the inaugural ceremony to mark the grand opening of the center, which was directly born out of the 2019 Abu Dhabi document on Human Fraternity signed by both Francis and Ahmed el-Tayeb during the Pope’s 2019 visit to the UAE.

The AFH is home to a Catholic church, a Muslim mosque, and a Jewish synagogue, and — according to Cardinal Miguel Ángel Ayuso Guixot, current president of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue — it serves as a “concrete example for people of different religions, cultures, traditions, and beliefs to return to the essential: love of neighbor.”

The AFH is the natural progression of Pope Francis’ controversial Abu Dhabi document on Human Fraternity, a text which states: “The pluralism and the diversity of religions, color, sex, race and language are willed by God in His wisdom, through which He created human beings.”

The text has been described as seeming to “overturn the doctrine of the Gospel” due to its promotion of equality of religions in a form of “fraternity.”

The Pope’s 2020 encyclical Fratelli Tutti has also played a part in the AFH, since the ecumenical project embodies the style of fraternity that the document called for. This form of fraternity is so essential to such ventures: namely, it is a fraternity and “unity” which are divorced from promotion of the Catholic faith which underly modern ecumenical activities.

Indeed, for many years the Vatican’s relationship with Islam and Judaism has presented a great danger to Catholics. This is particularly visible in the documents which emerged from Vatican II and which have since been used as the backbone of a number of different texts, including the modern catechism, as noted recently by Bishop Athanasius Schneider.

Yet while Vatican officials are busy promoting Islam and Judaism as equatable to Catholicism, as if they are simply the other side of a coin, the truth is that the Abrahamic Family House cannot promote Catholicism, but only dilute or weaken it. How then do Catholicism and Islam, in particular, compare?

The Holy Spirit is more than just a flag to show something. He wants to work within to make us like Jesus and be used to effect this world with his glory. With his power comes great commitment and wisdom. If we ask for his gift and show we are going to be faithful with it . that is what he is waiting for. He doesn't want us to be in places that he doesn't endorse , and won't manifest there. He is most Holy. no dirty water only a pure river will flow from your belly. ( inner person). revival is cleaning house and sweeping. 7 more spirits would like to come to a clean house if it gets dirty. Matt. 12:45

My first year of being a believer, I first started out as a seeker for a couple of years, I was slow to study. I could not fathom the idea of there being a hell, even though I believe I am saved, it's not about me. It's about other people. It does bring me sorrow, the thought of other people burning in hell for eternity with no escape.

I did not want to believe that hell existed, I tried to convince myself that it must be something else, like annihilationism. For those who do not know what that means, here is the wiki definition. "In Christianity, annihilationism is the belief that after the Last Judgment, all unsaved human beings, all fallen angels and Satan himself will be totally destroyed so as to not exist, or that their consciousness will be extinguished rather than suffer everlasting torment in Hell." - Wikipedia

Why did I want to believe that, because it sounded so much better. But I have to be careful here.

I ask myself do I want to believe in truth or simply what sounds good. Even though the truth may be difficult to stomach I eventually ended up wanting to believe the truth and nothing but the truth. I did a deep study, I no longer took the annihilationism view anymore, and that view was very short lived. I now do believe there is a hell, and that it is eternal with no escape for the damned. There is no second chance. and that the suffering in hell for the damned will be so immense, that they would have wished they never even existed. That no human, can fathom what hell would feel like or how long it will be. There is no pain that can be felt living on this Earth, compared to hell, and it is almost nothing compared to hell.

Yes it seems very extreme, but this is what I am seeing here from deep study.

I ask myself again, when it comes to other topics, like

1. The unforgivable sin
2. Conditional Salvation
3. Can we fall from heaven once entered?
4. Predestination
5. Can we know if someone who has passed away was saved or not?

For any of those 5 points above, did you do a deep study on any of the topics, are you certain you know, or are you sticking your head in the sand in fear of finding out.

I ask myself this sometimes.

This thread is based on a pet peeve of various Protestants tossing out that such and such belief/ practice of the ancient Church is "unbiblical" when it is in fact based on stuff out of the Bible, but it comes from a very different theological mind set than the person making such a claim.

1A) I think it should be rightly pointed out that probably the majority of heretics use scripture in some way or another.

Even Gnostics, New Agers, and Humanists sometimes quote the Bible. Making an appeal to scripture is helpful in indicating that people on spiritual matters should have something to base their decisions other than personal opinion and hunches, but it really is the lowest of possible bars because there are many kinds of biblical appeals and many of them are not very good at all. Probably the most vivid example of this are snake handling Pentecostals. They handle poisonous snakes during their church services as a kind of ordinance based on the literal passage of the Great Commission in the book of Mark that speaks of in Mark 16)

17 And these signs will follow those who [d]believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they[e] will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Snake Handlers believe they are "being Biblical" on this issue, but the majority of Christians of not just present times but all through history would find their hermeneutics and other Apriori theological assumptions that would lead them to do things like handle rattle snakes and drink jars full of deadly poison to not only to be idiosyncratic, but also bizarre, badly thought out and dangerous.

The great commission (Mark 16:15) is focused on preaching the good news. The Lord's intent was for us to preach the gospel worldwide. The modern church is obsessed with rituals, observing special celebrations, baptisms, weddings, and other ceremonies. As pious as these may be, ministers often forget or even ignore the simplicity of the great commission. Christ wanted us to disciple the world, not bogged down in procedure and ceremony. The church should return to the basics of its purpose in this world.

For me, I try to take Jesus' approach with the women in Samaria. Engaging in conversation and when the opportunity arises to bring the gospel naturally into the conversation, I bring up the Lord. I don't always succeed, but I do try.

I also feel the Lord leading me to starting doing some praise and worship on the streets where I am located. Taking an acoustic guitar, a small amp, and mic, and setting up on a street corner downtown and just singing to Him. I'm praying about this for direction.

This was supposed to be one of the GOP's signature issues after taking control of the House. Jim Jordan has been figuratively waving a piece of paper with the names of numerous whistleblowers who were going to blow the lid off the issue, but so far the testimony has sounded like disgruntled employees. And Jordan has not produced much information about any other whistleblowers. No one on this side of CF has really posted about it, and one post on the Christian-only side has not gotten any activity. Though it's early days yet -- committees take their time.

In his quest to prove the federal government has been “weaponized” against conservatives, Republican House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan has touted the allegations of what he claims are “dozens” of whistleblowers who have come to his office with stories of discrimination and bias.

Three of Jordan’s witnesses have come in for private interviews with committee staff so far. None of them appear to have had their claims validated by government entities that grant federal whistleblower protection, sources familiar with their testimony said. One who alleged there was FBI wrongdoing had their claims rejected. Another is retired and it’s unclear whether he has first-hand knowledge of the violations he alleges. The third has not revealed his direct disclosures or FBI suspension notice to House Democrats, according to transcripts reviewed by CNN.

The three so far interviewed:

One of them is Steve Friend, a former FBI agent working out of Florida who was suspended in August 2022 for objecting to using a SWAT team to arrest a subject for what Friend described as “misdemeanor offenses.”

Friend, who was interviewed by Republican and Democratic subcommittee staff earlier this month, was not part of the SWAT team but was asked to help with the case and refused, he told CNN in an interview.

The men arrested on the date Friend listed in his disclosures were members of a Florida-based organization known as the “Guardians of Freedom,” which adheres to the ideology of the “Three Percenters” and were illegally at the Capitol on January 6, according to the FBI.

Friend admitted in the subcommittee interview that owning a gun or being accused of a felony crime were reasons for FBI management to consider using a SWAT team, according to transcripts reviewed by CNN.

Judiciary committee staff have also interviewed a former FBI analyst who retired in October 2021 named George Hill, who supervised intelligence analysts that provided support to less than a dozen cases related to January 6.

In his interview with the subcommittee Hill criticized a bank that he says shared with the FBI records of people who were in DC on January 6, according to transcripts reviewed by CNN.

As part of its investigation into the January 6 attack at the Capitol, the FBI collected financial, communications and other business records of people investigated for possible crimes related to the Capitol riot. It’s a routine investigative tool used to help investigators and prosecutors gather evidence. Bank transactions could be used to show travel and location of suspected rioters, and could be used to establish the purchase of weapons used in the attacks on police protecting the Capitol.

The third whistleblower interviewed by the subcommittee is suspended FBI agent Garret O’Boyle, who says he was suspended for making an unauthorized media disclosure. Is the Love of God a feeling? Is it a concept that we cannot experience? Do we know what exactly is the Love of God?


1 John 4:7: "God Is Love"

This means that everything he does is Love because He is Love. There will never ever be an action even in His anger that is not out of Love. For God is Love.


Our concept of God's Love is incomplete and limited. We cannot and have not yet fathom the Love of God. How could we, for He is God and we are not.


So is there anyway for us to know the Love of God other than Words that He promised?


John 15: 13 "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends"

The Love of God moves Him. He feels love just as much as we would.
The reason we could feel Love is because God is Love and we are created in His image.

Now if we are created in His image and we desire something else, we are empty.
Without Love, we are empty.

In the Christian Monastic way of life, we are not looking for enlightenment as such, but a slow often frustrating journey into the Heart of God.

It is the growth of love that is sought, of service, and the patience to go for decades slowly arriving at that point in time when simplicity,
love of others, and the letting go of the fear of pain grows. I have seen everything come for the monks here to a point only at the time of death, or just before death.

When I have had a powerful experience, it comes on its own when I needed it, and was not looking for it. Struggle, pain, failure can be the very triggers that allow the out poring of grace. Perhaps humility is one main ingredient.

All vocations have the same elements when it comes to our journey toward union with God. The process cannot be rushed, since in the end, it is grace that is the water that allows our souls, minds, and hearts to expand.

My denomination is Assemblies of GOD, and they reaffirmed their position(s) against certain sexual activities outside of the male and female biblical standard back in 2014,...


People ought to read that through. It is a very good stance against the many things we see trying to overtake church bodies, but,...... a lot of churches/denominations here in the states are slowly starting to accommodate some of the lgbtq agenda. It could be for many reasons, but ultimately they are moving away from a strong biblical stance against such things and into a weaker more world friendly church environment.

This has had some devastating results. Satan has been able to gain footholds into some of the mainline Protestant churches through this agenda, enough of a foothold to actually split them in segments away from the denomination. They've been able to actually wrestle the church building away from the denomination in some cases. This stuff is not going away, it will get worse and more aggressive as time progresses.

So,.... is your church/denomination fighting against it or cozying up to it?

What feels like an a simple Scriptural command that most people are able to follow feels to me like an insurmountable mountain. My family keeps threatening me and attacking me and I don't want to provide for them. I'm frankly scared of my family. They keep threatening me with eviction but never carry it out. They bring up my failed job search with me at every opportunity. I've suffered from trauma and depression and anxiety - right now I'm getting treatment for the anxiety.

I keep wandering from interest to interest in hopes that one of them will be the magic bullet. I struggled my way through college in English and web design, failing half the time and now I don't want to do either of those things. I tried to get a job in boating, but only two companies are hiring and neither of them want me. I'm playing chess but I haven't won enough money to support myself, and I may never will.

I don't even want a job to support awful people like my family, though, and it's past time I acknowledged that. Today I called my dad to tell him that his son was in the hospital and was going to have major surgery, and he had the audacity to bring up my job search on the phone. My family's values are based on performance expectations, and if you fall short you're not allowed to have anything good.

I feel like I'm in a dark hole of sin that I can't ever possibly climb out of, and that I'm worse than an unbeliever. Forget providing for family members - I can't even provide for myself. I live out of a house my parents own and drive my parents' car around because I can't afford the insurance. I'm pretty sure, as a Christian, I'm a failure.

Any advice welcome for how to un-fail myself? And before you tell me to "just get a job" or ask me how the job search is going, again, know that I need something better than that. I need some advice to deal with the "I hate my family" stuff too - I have access to the same job boards as everyone else. The problem isn't external, having skills, learning stuff, or getting help. I've done all of that and felt terrible and emotionally attacked over it over and over and over again. I've reconfigured that so many times now.

I'm pretty sure that God put this verse in the Scripture to condemn me. I believed the Gospel back in 2005, but it's no real use. On this world, I am so low that even the unbelievers come ahead of me and I am abandoned to suffer.

The doctor says that he has something called an intussusception. His gut is folding in on itself, and it was causing him some terrible stomachaches.

My brother says that they are going to take a part of his colon out. Please pray for healing, and that he may be free from ongoing future side effects. He's in really bad shape and is going to be in the hospital for 3-4 days. Please pray that he doesn't get an infection from the surgery and that it goes well.

In another forum. A non-religious hobby forum, we have a highly successful member who openly admits being Christian and I guess proud to be one.

He often tells about his career. A very good one. As an engineer (or a scientist, can't remember the exact detail on that one) working for one of the top aerospace companies in USA, having high level security clearance and also worked on smaller but high profile projects. No doubt he is highly intelligent and smart, a man with 'golden hands' everything he worked on succeeded. And his career made him quite well off financially and retired successfully, no debt with large savings and large income from investments and pension. He travels all over the world with his wife many times a year.

He often talks about his successful career and attributes everything to God all of his blessings and success. Everyone in the forum knows him. He knows me just enough to trust me. Then lately, I often see him write in his posts he no longer values money and material things.

So I tested him on the things he wrote. One thing about this rich Christian pensioner, he had lots of cars for his own use only. He doesn't collect cars but he has different vehicles for different occasions. Some of them expensive, some are just regular sedans like most people drive to work.

Everyone in the forum knows me for having plenty of car problems with my old beat up car. So I asked this rich member if he can give me one of his car that's working perfectly fine to replace my old beat up car. He says he can't. I gave him a 2nd option, if he can't give up any of his cars due to sentimental value, he can send me money instead so I can find a good used car to replace my old beat up car. Again, he said no and he told me not because he doesn't trust me nor doesn't like me, he just wouldn't do it.

So I reasoned with him. He had plenty of 'disposable money', cars he can give away without problem. If he doesn't value money nor material things anymore, he shouldn't have any problems giving them to those who may need it so badly.

He gave a final reply he just can't with a smiley. He did not give any reason nor tried to debate the topic. From that point on, I never saw him write about his his beliefs about money and material things anymore. He also stopped telling about his Christianity. I wonder sometimes if I overdid it or did just right. After all, it would seem his intentions are in the wrong place and I made him out to be a hypocrite when it comes to worldly things.

I've observed this behavior often enough among other Christians with privileged life. They say they don't value money but ask them for a bit of help with money, they won't.

1 Corinthians 11:
2 I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you. 3 But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man,[a] and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved.6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.

7 A man ought not to cover his head,[b] since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. 8 For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; 9 neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 10 It is for this reason that a woman ought to have authority over her own[c] head, because of the angels. 11 Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. 12 For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.


I just bought a hat and now dont know if i can wear it. What do you guys think?
