You’ve got a point there . But I’ve heard a lot of Christians think he’s nearly a saint . ( slight exaggeration there but frankly that makes me want to heave)
Rom, 1:7 To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Cor, 1:2 To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours:
Rom, 8:27
And HE who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
Eph, 4:12 To equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.
1 Tim, 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
Believers are the saints. The Catholic Church has no authority to determine sainthood, this is the realm of God. To sit afar and play judge as to whether or not a specific individual is a saint isn’t our job. We may consider the fruit.
Scripture places a different authority on government than the individual to maintain peace; Rom, 13:1-2 Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. See,
Titus 3:1-3,
1 Peter, 2:13 also.
In Acts 5:28 we find this; “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us responsible for this man’s blood.” 29. But Peter and the other apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than men.” This is not only a free speech issue, it is one in which the apostles determined the direct command given them by Christ could not be abrogated by any other authority. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
I understand in this democratic republic the right to
peacefully assemble is guaranteed and the vast majority of demonstrators are doing so. Our individual rights do not bestow upon us the authority to invalidate the rights of others by impeding an individuals right to traverse public thoroughfare.
While this is a response to your post, it is in the spirit of cooperation and should not be considered a personal affront. You I presume, are a sister in Christ.
