The leaders of President-elect Donald Trump's proposed Department of Government Efficiency have indicated that funding for the nation's largest abortion provider may be on the chopping block as they seek to make drastic reductions to government spending.

Billionaire Elon Musk and former 2024 Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy discussed their plans as Trump put them in charge of the new department in an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal published Wednesday.

Stressing that they intend to serve as "outside volunteers, not federal officials or employees," Musk and Ramaswamy highlighted their plans to assist "the Trump transition team to identify and hire a lean team of small-government crusaders, including some of the sharpest technical and legal minds in America."

Officials at Olivet University, a Christian Bible college headquartered in Anza, California, say a sophisticated T visa scheme has fueled a civil lawsuit filed by four former international students who accuse the school and its officials of human labor trafficking. A "T-visa scheme" involves fraudulently using a human trafficking claim to convert a temporary visa into permanent residency.

In the lawsuit, previously reported by The Los Angeles Times, the former students — Dawin Liranzo Galan, Roland Broccko, Minerva Ruiz and Rebecca Singh — claim they were confined, surveilled and forced to work sometimes for free for more than 40 hours per week when they should have been studying at the Bible college on full scholarships.

She said just the other day that I do not know if it was the teachers or the parents (proabaly the teachers) had to FIGHT to get anything short of a year-long grade book. It must be from the board as there are four middle schools in that district and I doubt all four sets of admins particularly want those crazy type rules.

NAIROBI, Kenya — A Muslim teacher at an Islamic school in eastern Uganda who became a Christian on Oct. 4 was subsequently murdered on Oct. 21, area sources said.

Wanjala Hamidu was a teacher at Swidiki Islamic School in Nankoma, Bugiri District, 4 kilometers (2.48 miles) from his home in Masita village, where his brothers beat him to death after learning he had put his faith in Christ, the sources said. Hamidu was 32.

Hamidu converted to Christianity at an Oct. 4 evangelistic event in Bulange that he attended with his brother, Wulasiyo Swamadu. As Hamidu remained after the event for further Christian teaching, Swamadu returned home and told other Muslim family members about his conversion, said an area source who spoke with villagers and Christian sources.

Two rockets exploded at a United Nations peacekeeping base in southern Lebanon on Friday, injuring four Italian peacekeepers, days after Italy's Defense Ministry clarified that Israel was not responsible for a similar attack that wounded four others.

Archaeologists in Turkey say they have discovered an ancient amulet depicting a Biblical figure in a battle against the devil.

The rare artifact was found during an ongoing excavation project in Hadrianopolis, an ancient city near Karabük, and dated to the fifth century.

Hadrianopolis was used as a settlement during various periods of history, including during the Roman and Byzantine empires. Excavation and restoration work has been taking place there since 2003, with over a dozen buildings discovered and multiple massive mosaics found over the years.

I think if people knew they only lived to 55 they would be partying more and perhaps taking advantage of everything they can to get the most out of life. Imagine someone in their 40s when this use to be the time people were working hard to save for retirement. They would now be opting out without much money.

I think it would put pressure on every stage of life. As kids parents would be pushing kids to start careers at 12 years old. Going to uni would take half your life away. Some things take time and only work because they were slowly earnt. There would be short cuts and that would create a system where there would be many cowboys trying to squeeze the system for everything it benefit themselves.

If they have no life after death then any sacrifices in this life will seem like a waste of time. Yet it is sacrifices that cultivate the quality and character of a person and work towards making life better for those who suffer.

To many who disbelieve in God even 80 years is a short time. It goes in the blink of an eye and much of the later years are compromised by health and mobility issues. So really theres not much quality life physically after 60 years anyway lol.

I dont think I mentioned the former. As for the latter, I was just talking about a situation like Oppenheimer, where I stipulated Z's claim that its fairly easy to get a good person in place for his job. So likely that would have occurred initially with no need for retroactive fix.

But there's probably other situations where bad luck or ignorance leads to a terrible decision that future people would want to fix, if they could.
