  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm happy that he looked up to his father and sees him as his hero. Hopefully that will carry him through his disappointment as he discovers how wrong his father was about certain topics.

I doubt he could ever see disappointment in his fathers hundreds of videos he made, I can't see how he ever could as his father was a truther & the comments below the video prove this.

Why Am I Here?

There are certain people today called “cessationists” who believe that some of the Spiritual gifts of God, listed for us in the Scriptures, are no longer valid. But that theory is anti-biblical. And they will use 1 Corinthians 13:8-10 as one of their main sources for this theory of theirs. But, when taught in the correct biblical context, their theory does not “hold water.” For in the last days (now) God will pour out His Spirit on both male and female, and they will prophesy (proclaim God’s Word), and will have dreams, and see visions (see Acts 2:15-18 and Joel 2:28-32). Test them. Yes! But don’t disregard all.

“Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil.” (1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 NASB1995)

Now, to be honest, the only reason that I am on the internet is that 21 years ago the Lord called me to this ministry, some through dreams and visions, and some through the passage in Habakkuk 2:2-3, but all through the voice of the Holy Spirit speaking within me showing me the way that the Lord had planned for me from even before he created the world. But the cessationists would have none of that. They would tell me that God doesn’t speak to us that way, but only through the written word of God. And if I had listened to them, instead of to the Holy Spirit, I would never have come to the internet.

So, let’s look at what that would look like if I had ignored God’s calling upon my life, and if I had listened to the cessationists, instead. And none of this I am mentioning is of my own doing, nor could it ever be, but all this is of God, and of his working in my life and through me for his glory. So there is no pride in any of what I am going to share with you, for all this was God working through me as I yielded to his control, and I did what he said, and I said what he gave me to write and to share with the people on the internet.

In a way, this is kind of like one of those “if you had never been born” kind of stories where they show you what the world would look like if you had not existed, and if you had not had the impact that you had on the people of the earth. Only this will be looking more at the kinds of things which would not have happened if you had not listened to the Lord, and if you had listened to other humans, instead, who were teaching the Scriptures out of context, and who would tell you that God cannot speak to you in that way.

So, this is for all of you who have heard the Spirit speaking within you, showing you the way that he has for you, and the gifts and ministries he has for you, but who have been shot down by cessationists who tell you that God doesn’t work that way, and that God can speak to you only through the written word. But the written word does not say, “Sue Love, I am calling you to write down what I talk with you about, to the best of your understanding, and to post these writings on the internet for a ‘herald to run with it.’”

And, again, none of this is of me or of my flesh or my doing. I just listen to the Lord, write down what I hear him say, and I post it on the internet. What happens before, during, and after that is in the hands of God, not mine!

Over the past 21 years the Lord has given me over 10,000 documents to write, and/or to record, and to post on the internet, now on seven different internet sites. Some of them are/were dreams and visions (primarily at the beginning), which were primarily used as parables. Some of them are songs, some are poems, some are memes (devotions), and some are video talks (not writings), but they have writings to go with them. And a few were testimonies in the form of short books. Most of them are me sharing my times of fellowship with the Lord and what I am hearing from him.

Now, at first, I didn’t even know if anyone was reading, viewing, or listening to any of these, for I got few responses, until I discovered “Stats.” And then I realized that people from over 100 different nations were/are viewing these documents or videos, and these posts were getting a large number of reads, even if I did not get many responses. And that encouraged my heart. But did I do this? No! God did! He just did it through me, but it all came from him, and I am just the messenger. So all the glory goes to God and not to me.

But think with me a moment on this. What if I had listened to cessationists, and not to God. None of this would have happened. None of these over 10,000 documents would have ever gone out to people in nations all over the world. And most of what I write about is the gospel of our salvation, and I share what I am getting from the Lord in my times with him in his word each day. So these presentations of the gospel would not have reached the people of the world, either, well not through me, anyway. But so many people today are not teaching the truth, but lies to coddle people in their sin.

So, don’t listen to the naysayers who tell you that God no longer speaks through dreams and visions, or through other sources that are not specifically the canon of the Scriptures, and that he no longer uses some of the spiritual gifts he provided for his people. The Lord even uses cockroaches and lady bugs and spiders, in what they represent, in what they are doing, kind of like dreams, as symbols of what the Scriptures talk about, and to let me know what he would have me write about that day. And none of this is antibiblical. For they can be just like the kind of parables that Jesus spoke.

But we need to be aware that the devil will try to counterfeit God and his voice and his messages, so we need to test everything we believe is of God against the Scriptures to make sure that what we are hearing or seeing does not contradict the Scriptures and their teachings. But don’t limit God to just the canon of the Scriptures, for Jesus did send us the Holy Spirit to indwell us, to teach us all things, and to counsel, to encourage, and to warn. So, we have to be able to hear the Spirit speaking within us so we know God’s calling on our lives and we know what he wants us to do and to say.

The Spirit of the Sov’reign Lord on me;
Anointed to preach the Good News;
Sent me to bind up the brokenhearted;
Proclaim freedom for the captives.
He sent me to preach release for pris’ners
Who are walking in sin’s darkness;
Proclaim God’s grace to all men who’ll listen;
And tell them about God’s judgments;
Comfort all who mourn;
Give crowns of beauty;
Oil of gladness and thanksgiving.

They will be called oaks of God’s righteousness,
A planting of our Savior, God,
For the display of our Lord’s splendor, and
They will rebuild God’s holy church.
God will renew them, and will restore them,
And you’ll be called priests of the Lord.
You will be ministers of our God, and
You will rejoice in salvation.
The Lord loves justice;
He is faithful to
Reward those who are seeking Him.

I delight greatly in the Lord;
My soul rejoices in my Savior, God.
He has clothed me with His salvation,
And in a robe of His righteousness.
He has given me priestly garments to wear,
As the bride of Jesus Christ.
As the garden of our Lord and Savior,
He causes us to grow in Him.
He makes righteousness,
Praise, and thanksgiving
Spring up before all the nations.

I.R.S. Audits Are at a Record Low. Trump’s Cuts Could Make Them Even Rarer.

Does the Trump administration think that it can change the US revenue system from Congress passed tax revenue to Donald's Own tariff system by wrecking the IRS?
I don't think he cares about that as much as he cares about protecting his friends. After all, if the IRS is able to audit anyone they want to, who knows what kinds of shenanigans they might uncover.

-- A2SG, and I'll bet, among Trump's friends, there's a lot of shenanigans going on.....

What motivated 70,000 young Mexicans to make a pilgrimage to Christ the King?

Um...I think my mom is using The Bible to judge people...

We have to learn not to criticize others; explaining the word of God makes some people angry, If that happens, leave them alone. Pray for them. Be sure to encourage people when they do good.

People who abuse their children and claim to be Christians are not Christians.

Archbishop Lori issues pastoral letter on political life in honor of 250th anniversary of the U.S.

Archbishop William Lori urged Catholics to approach public life with synodal listening and civic virtue, drawing on Blessed Michael McGivney’s example of serving immigrant families.

Archbishop William Lori of Baltimore urged Catholics to foster a political culture grounded in Christ by prioritizing human dignity and genuine encounter amid partisan divisions.

“In Charity and Truth: Toward a Renewed Political Culture,” released in anticipation of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, is among the nine pastoral letters and reflections Lori has written as archbishop of Baltimore. The Feb. 9 letter explored how the anniversary can be “a moment of grace” and one of “responsibility.”
The U.S. can both take pride in its achievements and “the vibrancy of our Catholic faith” while also recognizing “the fractures, wounds, and crises that mark both our national life and, sadly, even at times our ecclesial life,” Lori wrote.

“As our nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we find ourselves invited into a moment of profound reflection and renewal,” Lori said. “Anniversaries are not merely occasions for nostalgia or celebration. Authentic remembrance always orients us toward renewal; it calls us to consider not only who we have been and who we are becoming — but, by God’s grace, who we are called to be.”

Anti‑Zionism claim by Catholic panelist prompts sharp exchange at Religious Liberty Commission

Catholic teaching does not explicitly oppose Zionism, the movement supporting Jewish self‑determination in a homeland in Israel.

Former Miss California Carrie Prejean Boller, a member of President Donald Trump’s Religious Liberty Commission, said she doesn’t embrace Zionism because of her Catholic faith, despite Catholic teaching that does not oppose Israel as a nation or the Jewish people.

“I am a Catholic, and Catholics don’t embrace Zionism,” Boller said at the fifth hearing of the Trump-appointed Religious Liberty Commission focusing on the topic of antisemitism in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 9.

Catholic teaching does not explicitly oppose Zionism, the movement supporting Jewish self‑determination in a homeland in Israel. Israel is seen as God’s chosen people through whom God revealed himself and prepared the way for the coming of Jesus Christ. The Catholic Church universally condemns antisemitism. The Church recognizes Israel’s fundamental right to exist.

Boller issued several social media postsafter the hearing. She wrote:

“Forcing people to affirm Zionism on a ‘Religious Liberty’ Commission is the opposite of religious freedom. I will not resign, and I will not be bullied for following my Catholic conscience.”

Gifts of The Spirit

“Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part; but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.” (1 Corinthians 13:8-10 NASB1995)

What do cessationists believe? According to Google’s AI, “Cessationists believe that miraculous sign gifts—specifically prophecy, tongues, and healing—ceased after the Apostolic Age (end of the 1st century) once the New Testament canon was completed. They argue these gifts were intended to validate the apostles' message, not to continue throughout church history. They still believe God performs miracles today but no longer uses individuals with specific ‘gifts’ of healing or miracles.” But is that biblical? No!

Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.” (John 14:12 NASB1995)

Jesus said, “greater works.” The cessationists say, “lesser works.”

And one of the Scripture passages the cessationists use to support their case is this passage in 1 Corinthians 13. So, let’s break that down to see if their theory “holds water.”

Yes, the passage of Scripture speaks of a time when the gifts of the Spirit will be done away with. But when is this to take place? When the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. And who is “the perfect” who is coming? Jesus Christ. When Jesus returns for his bride, and he takes us to be with him in glory, there will be no more need of the gifts of the Spirit. And then it goes on to describe that time:

“For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.” (v. 12)

When will that take place? When Jesus Christ returns for his faithful ones, and he takes us to be with him for eternity, which is when we will then see him “face to face.” So what this is contrasting here is our time here on this earth compared to what it will be like when we are with our Lord in glory for eternity. Here our understanding and our knowledge of things is incomplete. But when we are out of these earthly tents, and we are in our glorified bodies with Christ for eternity, then we will have complete understanding.

So, the gifts of the Spirit are not to cease while we live here on this earth. And in our present reality we need to be exercising those gifts of the Spirit even more. But they must be exercised with much spiritual maturity and discernment, and done biblically, and of the Holy Spirit, and not of human flesh. For there is much fakery and misuse of the gifts of the Spirit going on within the gatherings of the church (or what is falsely being referred to as the church). So we must test the spirits to see if truly they are of God.

But what happened on the day of Pentecost when the believers in Christ (male and female) were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in other languages (the languages of the people present)? They were accused of being drunk. So, what was Peter’s response to that accusation?

“For these people are not drunk, as you assume, since it is only the third hour of the day; but this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel:
‘And it shall be in the last days,’ God says,
‘That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind;
And your sons and your daughters will prophesy,
And your young men will see visions,
And your old men will have dreams;
And even on My male and female servants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days,
And they will prophesy.” (Acts 2:15-18 NASB; see also Joel 2:28-32)

And where are we now? Certainly we are in the last days, for they were, too. And who are these gifts bestowed upon? Male and female. No differentiation. And, poetically speaking, the way this is written does not mean that only young men will see visions and only old men will have dreams. And looking at the interlinear for Acts 2:17, it appears to me that all are included in those who will prophesy and see visions and dream dreams. But these prophecies, dreams, and visions must not contradict the teachings of the Scriptures. For God will not contradict himself and his word.

And to prophesy is not just in the area of future telling, but the word means to “speak forth” the messages of God, to proclaim the Word of the Lord. Another word for this is to “preach.” But this proclaiming of the Word of the Lord must be under the guidance and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, who will lead us in what to say, and in what subjects to discuss, and to make these messages relevant to our world today, practical, and applicable to our daily living. And this must not rewrite nor contradict the Scriptures. And all should be tested against the Scriptures to be sure they are of God.

The Spirit Calling

An Original Work / November 12, 2019
Christ’s Free Servant, Sue J Love

Hear the Spirit calling.
He’ll keep you from falling.
Tenderly He’s calling,
“Come and follow Him.”

Walk with Jesus daily.
Don’t give in to lazy.
Folks may call you crazy.
Fellowship with Him.

Follow where He leads you.
Eat what Jesus feeds you.
His love will renew you
If you follow Him.

Do what Jesus tells you.
Don’t let your faith fail you.
His love will avail you
If you walk with Him.

Jesus, Lord and Savior,
Reigneth now forever.
He gave us His favor
So we’d live with Him.

Turning now from our sin,
Holy Spirit live-in.
Holiness we walk in,
Purified by Him.

Dennis Quaid and Milo Ventimiglia say 'I Can Only Imagine 2' shows faith in middle of suffering

Nine years after the original film turned a chart-topping worship song into a box-office phenomenon, “I Can Only Imagine 2” returns with a more complicated question: What happens after redemption?

The first movie, which grossed over $83 million domestically, traced MercyMe frontman Bart Millard’s reconciliation with his abusive father and the birth of a song that would change his life. The sequel, hitting theaters Feb. 20, begins in the middle of adulthood, when forgiveness has already been offered, success has already arrived, yet old wounds still find a way to speak.

Andy Erwin, who directed the film with Brent McCorkle, told The Christian Post that “I Can Only Imagine 2” is about inheritance: what is carried on from one’s parents, passed to their children, and how faith collides with the messiness in between. It’s also a story about unfinished healing, he stressed.

It is near

I generally tend to go with universal reconciliation
I believe every name is written in the Lambs book of life. But Jesus says there are people who's name is blotted out. So in the very least they are not in a covenant with God.

What a covenant gives

  • Belonging — “You will be My people, and I will be your God.”
  • Identity — a name, a place, a role.
  • Protection — God takes responsibility for those in His covenant.
  • Inheritance — life, blessing, future.
  • Presence — God dwells with His covenant people.
To be in covenant is to be inside that relationship.

What it means not to have a covenant

  • No shared identity — you are not counted among God’s people.
  • No claim on the promises — the blessings of the covenant are not yours.
  • No protection of belonging — you stand outside the relationship God offers.
  • No inheritance — you are not written among those who receive life.
  • No mutual commitment — God offers Himself, but the person has not responded.
It does not mean God hates the person. It means the person is outside the relationship God desires.

Can I ask about "Aliens"?

The physical universe is matter and energy. And they can be interchangeable. But that doesn't mean that matter and energy is all there is.
Interesting that you brought that up. I was thinking about the connection we feel with the people who have died and gone to be with the lord. People say you should not talk to dead people but that is not what we are doing.

What continues after the physical world drops away

  • Memory — not just images, but the emotional shape they left in you
  • Attachment — the patterns of love, trust, conflict, and meaning formed over years
  • Identity — your sense of who you are in relation to them
  • Expectation — the inner “place” they occupied in your life
  • Conscious awareness — which is not a physical sense and doesn’t depend on matter or energy

Even animals, we hope to go to heaven to be with them someday because they were so much a part of our life here.

The Wrath of God will come from the sky: -
Romans 1:18-20 Divine Retribution will be seen by all, falling from heaven on all the impiety and wickedness of men and women who deny the truth. 1 Samuel 2:10
For all that can be known about God lies plain before their eyes. His invisible power and divine nature are knowable to any reasonable mind, so all are without excuse and their conduct is indefensible. Hebrews 11:6

Romans 1:21-32 These ungodly people know that there must be a Creator, but they refuse to acknowledge or give thanks to Him. So now, their thinking has become futile and their misguided minds are plunged into darkness. They claim to be wise, but they have just made fools of themselves. Psalms 14:1-3
Therefore God has given them over to all kinds of perversions and idolatries, while actually knowing God’s righteous decree that those who behave like this deserve to die, but they continue in their depravity and approve of the same conduct in others. Job 22:12-13

Romans 2:5-11 God’s kindness and patience is allowing us time to come to repentance, but if people refuse His gift of salvation, then on the Day of Retribution, all will be justly judged according to their deeds. His wrath awaits those who are governed by selfish ambition, who refuse obedience to the truth and who take evil for their guide. Isaiah 2:12, Isaiah 29:19-21, Isaiah 65:11-12

To both the Israelites and Gentiles who pursue glory, honour and immortality by living a righteous life, God will reward them with eternal life. Hosea 2:19 God has no favourites.

2 Thessalonians 1:6-10 It is just that God should pay back those godless peoples and give the righteous relief. This will happen when [the power of] the Lord Jesus is seen in the sky in a blazing fire, punishment will fall upon all who do not obey the gospel and they will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction, separated from His presence. Isaiah 59:18
On that great Day, Jesus will come and reveal His glory amongst all believers in Him. Only revealed to His believers. Jeremiah 31:2-3, Revelation 14:1

Hebrews 10:26-27 For those who deliberately persist in sin while knowing the truth, there remains only the terrifying expectation of God’s judgement, of a fierce fire that will consume His enemies. Habakkuk 3:12, Malachi 4:1

2 Peter 3:7 & 10 On that Day, the Lord will come as a thief, the sky will disappear with a great roar and the earth will be devastated by fire. Zephaniah 3:8, Isaiah 34:2-4, Isaiah 66:15-17, Revelation 6:14, Jeremiah 30:23-24
Reference: REB. Some verses abridged and paraphrased.

None of these Bible quotes fit with or refer to the Return of Jesus in His glory, seen by all mankind, at the commencement of His Millennium reign. Revelation 19:11

It is an event before that, where the Lord makes ‘fire fall from heaven’, His great Day of Retribution against His enemies’. It is the Lord’s Day of vengeance and wrath, the next prophesied event that we can expect. It is a terrible punishment by fire, that will punish the ungodly, a massive explosion of the suns surface, which will firstly devastate the Middle East, but also dramatically affect the whole world. Psalms 83, Micah 4:1

What's on your mind? Friendship Court edition.

I'm thinking what did people learn from various CF sub forums during the last 7 days?

If the answer is “nothing,” then you might as well have been just watching TV or starring at the wall.

CF should be the place where your brain gets something back for the time you invest---at least something tiny.

LXX vs MT time in Egypt

We can roughly date the Exodus based on other portions of the Old Testament. One in particular is 1 Kings 6, where it says that the construction of the Temple began in the 480th year after Israel left Egypt. That would put the Exodus in roughly the mid 15th century B.C.

The 430 vs. 215 years changes when we see Abram having been called by God, not when the Exodus occurred.
If the Exodus really happened then I tend to think that rather than the bible we can work out when it happened roughly by the evidence on the ground. There has to be some if its a real event.

By doing it this way you are not conflicted by the different interpretations of the bible. Then you can go back to the bible and check this. It may add new light and understanding to the bible.

But the reality is if we find evidence for the Exodus on the ground then that should align with the bible as well. Just not in the way some have interpreted it.

For example. From memory the Pharoah that Moses waits to die before coming back after being exiled reined for a long period. I think around 40 years plus. There are not many Pharoahs that reined that long. Especially during the time of Moses.

In this way we are using an outside biblical source like we do with Christ. There is evidence from the Egyptian side of the Exodus.

“Life Apart From God Is Meaningless”
John 15:5 NIV
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

John 15 has always been one of my favorite chapters in Scripture. I really like the illustration of the vineyard to describe how God is Gardener and Jesus is the Vine. This specific verse has always been important in my life as it clearly states that life without God is empty. Apart from Him, nothing eternal is possible.

Through the past many years of my life, I have learned more about myself, my relationship with my wife and my relationship with my kids. In the past few months, I realized that if I didn’t have God in my life, I would not have the life I have now.

My relationship with my wife is the best it has ever been. However, this has not come without struggles. We have had many ups and downs throughout our almost 22 years of marriage. When I look at my wife now, I am beyond grateful for how He brought us together and all that we have experienced. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I am more in love with my wife now that I ever have been before and it’s only because of the amazing work of God in our marriage. I can honestly say we would not be where we are in our marriage without God. It just wouldn’t be at all possible.

My relationship with my kids makes me a very proud dad. I know that I regret many things through the years of them growing up that I wish I could go back and do better or change. However, what’s done is done and I can only work on the future to still be the best Godly dad I can be. I have messed up a lot in things I’ve done and said to them. However, God is gracious and so are my girls. They love me as their dad and that often brings tears to my eyes that they still love me.

I cannot imagine life without God. Life is hard enough as it is even with my faith. I find myself often doubting and getting frustrated when I can’t understand what He’s doing. However, I know that I always must trust Him, no matter what. I am beyond grateful for the faith I have had for so many years and I’ve grown in that faith. It’s not easy by any means, but I am so thankful for what I have learned and how God has shown up in my relationship with my wife and my girls.

I am so grateful for the community I have at our church. God has blessed me with great people that I’ve known there for over 4 years. Some of them have become very close friends and it’s only because of God that those friendships remain strong. I am also grateful for the worship team I play alongside each month.

Life apart from God would not bring me any of these blessings I have mentioned. I am so grateful and I truly believe that apart from Him, I would have absolutely no hope.

Intrusive thoughts?

I wanted to wait a little to reply, to try avoiding obsessive reassurance-seeking as much as possible. I gave myself until today before posting about this again.

In answer to your question Mari17, no, I don't think it is. I had this thought that it might become worshipping the beast if I thought it was, but then I got to thinking that I don't really believe the intrusive thoughts I have. Honestly, I don't want to worship the beast. It doesn't seem like worship is something you can do if you don't want to. It seems pretty obvious when you think about it.

I think it's beginning to get a little easier to tell what's my OCD brain and what is my normal thinking.
This sounds very insightful on your part. Good for you, for giving yourself time to think about it without turning to compulsions. It sounds like you are very aware, and learning to differentiate between your "sound mind" and your "OCD mind"! I pray that our good Father will continue growing you in discernment, courage, and a thriving relationship with Him.

Water Doesn’t Remove Sin!

-
No you do not you know nothing about my beliefs.
I cited your own statements

As you can not see them, you are blinded by your sinned closed mind or by satan.

And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

Nowhere is there an exception
Yet your position continues to count the sin of unbelief against people.

I think you're not comprehending your logic flaw and therefore can't address it.

in The Bible where it states Jesus is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. Except for the sin of unbelief. It only exist in your flawed theology.
I have the exact same position without exceptions.
