  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Honoring Your Marriage

Honestly, I wouldn’t mind my husband having headship over the home if he consistently made decisions that were in all of our best interests, but there are times when I’m right and he’s wrong. I feel that I’m better off making the decisions sometimes because he doesn’t always get it right.
Yep, some people are better off letting their partner make the decisions. For you, it is better that your husband makes the choices say 40% of the time, and you make better decisions. For other married couples, it might be better for both husband and wife to have an equal say. Ideally, maybe give your husband a chance to correct his mistakes, and try making a few more decisions, so that the marriage is balanced, but hey, I am just a single guy in his 20s who has never married, and therefore has no experience.

Also, I like your denomination. As a Catholic who used to be nondenominational, Anglicans and Catholics are practically more similar to each other compared to nondenominational.

Need guidance, wondering if I'm even saved or just a false convert lying to the Lord

One more thing, @IsaacRoyale , this is what the machine said, if you want a better answer than mine. It is kinda funny how my computer said it would offer prayers for you, but I already offered a prayer for you from my flesh and blood existence.

NFL team insists it did not endorse Kamala Harris, says bus ads are fake

Advertisements suggesting that Vice President Kamala Harris is the preferred presidential candidate of the Philadelphia Eagles have been taken down or covered up as the football team insists it didn't place the ads at bus shelters in Pennsylvania's largest city.

In a statement posted to X Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles announced that it is aware of "counterfeit political ads" that have circulated and is "working with our advertiser to have them removed."

While the National Football League team did not elaborate on the contents of said ads, images shared on social media reveal a poster at a bus shelter in Philadelphia showing a cartoon depiction of Harris, the Democratic nominee for president in the 2024 presidential election, wearing an Eagles jersey and helmet in addition to holding a football.

God vs Satan

Many times, he believes the earth rotates & it orbits the sun & the evidence is in the stars as he says that had once spotted Saturn with it's rings.
Hey, I created a thread, to get to understand your view better. Could you answer any of those questions for me, or do you know any posters on the site, who can assist me?

MorningStar Ministries accused of cover-up in lawsuit detailing rampant abuse of boys by ex-volunteer

It’s always been an issue. It was just kept under wraps. Same as everywhere. I think there is more interest and curiosity about child sexual abuse now overall because of the internet and the underground porn being pedaled through sex trafficking.
A lot of it is now coming to light. The truth can't stay hidden.

Trump’s Disturbing Support of IVF

Yeah, it is bothersome. He is not Catholic, so he is not trying to go against the faith.
That said, evangelicals are pushing for it.
I agree. His views definitely don't line up with the Church. It think he wants the most views so he is going to be moderate on "reproductive" issues.

Social Media Site Owners, Being Held Accountable for Criminal Activity on Those Sites

More likely case is that governments don't like social media platforms being outside of their control especially when they want access to information from said platform during wartime that their enemy uses.

James chapter 1

James, a servant[a] of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,

JAMES THE MAN

So, who was this man, James?

He was the half-brother of our saviour; he was the natural offspring of Mary and Joseph. Jesus of course was born supernaturally through the holy spirit.

He was the leader of the Jerusalem church; much is written about him in the book of Acts.

HE HAD A POWERFUL EXPERIENCE

In Mark chapter 3, James, his mother and his brother and his mother thought Jesus was mad, so what happened. The answer is the cross and resurrection of Jesus, this is a life changing experience. Every person who comes into contact with the above is never the same. People like Paul and James, who think Jesus is mad, are now slaves of Jesus Christ.

HE HAD A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP

Everyone like James who comes into contact with Jesus, comes into a personal relationship. Christianity is about a relationship, it is not about religion, it is the only faith, where you can have a personal relationship with God, why because God steps down into human history.

HE WAS PERMANENTLY TRANSFORMED

When people come into contact with Jesus, they are totally transformed, James was changed and millions have been changed over the last 2,000 years.

So, who is James, He is you and me.

Jesus changed the life of James and he can change yours too.

God bless you

is anyone else here bummed that Tulsi Gabbard didn’t get put forward as a nominee?

Okay so why do you support giving a terror state their money back?
It was part of an effort to get them to agree to inspections of their nuclear facilities and try to get more normalization of relations which I saw as an improvement.

Psalm 70:1 Save Me, O God! Lord, Help Me Now

Any reading of the psalms reveals that David turned to the Lord any time he was facing severe trials or was in deep anguish. Many of David’s subjects probably envied the life that he lived. To them, he couldn’t possibly have the problems that they faced. Yet, David’s writings revealed the great pressures and dangers that he faced.

Often, people will look upon a person who is rich and powerful and think,

“Oh, I wish I could be like him. Why, he lives the good life. He doesn’t have to face the problems that I have to face!”

What a false impression that is! Everything has its price and problems. Money and position do not automatically bring happiness. In fact, the opposite can be true.

Whether rich or poor, young or old, problems will always loom in life; and the only answer is to turn to the Lord for guidance and rescue. David knew that, and he seldom forgot to present his petitions before God.

psalm 70 meaning

Psalm 70 is a cry for help. In fact, David saw his need as being immediate. In verse 1 he wrote,

“O God, hasten to deliver me; O LORD, hasten to my help!”

Today people may pray for rain or no rain, they may pray to lose 10 pounds, or have a successful Gospel Meeting; but David was praying for his life! In verse 2 David wrote,

“Let those be ashamed and humiliated who seek my life; let those be turned back and dishonored who delight in my hurt.”

David had enemies that were actively seeking his downfall or death.

One can’t help but wonder if a person, a Christian, today would take the time to pray in such a situation. Too often prayer is the last resort, or it is done after safety has been achieved. But here, David wrote his petition while his life was in danger. THAT is true trust in the Lord!

Verse 4 indicates David’s great faith and trust in his God.

"Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; and let those who love Your salvation say continually, ‘Let God be magnified’."
Simply because David saw that his life was in danger from his enemies did not keep him from thinking upon the power and mercy of the Lord.

Throughout the long centuries, Christians have died for their faith in Jesus Christ. They paid the ultimate price, because they knew that, in the Lord, there was a far greater reward. David believed that even without the added revelation of the Good News about Jesus Christ.

Christians have been truly blessed, but with great blessing and privilege comes great responsibility. All Christians should ask themselves, “How strong is my faith? Do I believe in the promises of the Lord enough to die for Him?” Let all rejoice that there is hope in the Lord in spite of the enemies found in this world.

70 70 70 70 70

In verse 5, David wrote,

"But I am afflicted and needy; hasten to me, O God! You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD, do not delay.”
David was the King of Israel, yet he saw himself as having nothing. David knew (and oh do all Christians need to learn this today!) that his wealth rested on his relationship with God. If the revolt by Absalom, David’s son, had succeeded, all of his wealth and power in the kingdom would have vanished. Yes, physical worldly power and assets can disappear overnight. Only a relationship with God will stand the test of eternity.

There are many concerns on the part of Christians today concerning the path this nation is taking. Powers hostile to God seem to be growing stronger. Terrorism is a real threat. Immorality seems to be spreading like an infection.

But when enemies threaten to overwhelm the children of God today, each Christian man and woman can turn to the plea that David made so many centuries ago – ” O God, hasten to deliver me.” That prayer was heard then, and it will be heard today.
