  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Had enough...

We are doing what you need to do . . . simply trusting God with you.

"casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)

"'Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.'" (Matthew 11:28-29)

So, if you are "heavy laden", Jesus means you. Jesus wants you. And Jesus is so more and better than any of us; yet, Jesus is not conceited, but He cares about any of us and wants us to be with Him and share with Him in His rest. And if we put God first, we get all He desires to share with us.

Massey Ferguson MF-20 - No Oil Pressure (MUST READ!)

He told me that this happened to a customer of his, years ago; when he put in a FRAM filter on a similar tractor. He told me that he will never use FRAM, nor STP. He told me that he uses nothing but WIX. He told me to warm up the engine, and then pull the oil plug; and let it drain overnight. He said that there are probably bits of metal in my new oil. He said that there is probably scoring on my bearings. He told me to get a WIX filter, and a full synthetic 15W-40 and replace those items in the morning. He said that the full synthetic will help in the wake of the probable scoring.
I could have told you that...FRAM oil filters are JUNK...

They've Trampled Underfoot the Son of God

I would just lead them to what the Scriptures teach, for they are the authority on this subject. There are plenty of lists of specific sins in the Scriptures and Jesus and his NT apostles all taught that if sin is what we practice deliberately and habitually, that we do not have eternal life with God. And, as far as I have experienced, those who want to argue with regard to what exactly is sin and how serious particular transgressions are are usually those who are deliberately and habitually sinning against the Lord, usually in the area of sexual immorality (generally speaking). When Jesus talked about adultery being intentionally lusting after another, it seems to me that intent is definitely involved in sin. And I think that I have probably heard all the "work arounds" and excuses on this subject for why some people keep sinning deliberately and habitually. Very sad!
Jesus said many things ‘conflicting’ with others regarding ‘what is sin’ and ‘the varying seriousness of particular sins’. This was in line with the prophets who with many words did the same… seems this is the root of human sin… not knowing what sin is or how serious certain sin is. Am I right?

When There's No Hiding Place

Yes and yes. We can certainly pray for safety in the case of physical storms, but we should always accept the will of God in these matters. With this last hurricane to hit Florida in the USA, the Lord led me to pray, "Your kingdom come, your will be done as it is in heaven." And that is what I kept being led to pray over and over again. The storm appears to have not been as severe as what it was being said to be. There is still a lot of damage and loss of homes and some human lives, but way less than originally was expected, as far as I can tell so far. And with regard to other kinds of storms in our lives, I don't believe we should pray for God to help us to avoid them, for we are given the storms of life by God to grow us and to mature us in our walks of faith, and yes to test the genuineness of it, for if tested and it is found to not be genuine, then that is the time to repent and to submit to God and to walk in obedience to his commands from this moment forward. But we can certainly pray for God to hold us and to carry us through the storms and to lead us and guide us in his ways, if we are of genuine faith and our trust is surely in him.
what about the storm of realising we are not the person we thought we were: we thought being a christian put us safely in God’s arms, then realised we weren’t actually obedient, in fact we did not know God at all! The storm of encountering Christ?

VIETNAM: New Believer Slain by Unknown Assailants

In August of this year, a widower and father of two referred to as "Brother Man" came to faith in Christ. When news of the believer's conversion became known, he began to encounter intense pressure from local authorities.
In the first incident, Brother Man was ordered to leave his home. When he refused to do so, the local authorities then confiscated his land and forbade him from contacting any other Christians. Despite the opposition, the follower of Jesus remained firm in his newfound faith.
On September 24th, Brother Man had been home alone while the rest of his household was out working. When his family members returned home later that day, they found the slain believer's body on the floor. It was also discovered that the deceased Christian man had a bruise on the back of his neck.
An in-country ministry partner who works closely with Voice of the Martyrs Australia has asked for prayer on behalf of Brother Man's grieving family members during this difficult time. One of the representatives from the Australian office reported that needed financial assistance has been provided to the family. For further reports addressing the suffering of Christians in this Southeast Asian nation, including videotaped segments, go to our country profile.
Prayerfully remember Brother Man's loved ones as they grieve their sudden loss. May God's loving presence, peace and comfort be tangibly experienced by this mourning family, as well as by fellow Christians in their community and other areas of Vietnam. Ask the Lord to provide these persecuted believers with divine wisdom and guidance as they deal with the oppressive restrictions being imposed on them from all levels of government. Pray that the assailants responsible for this attack would be revealed and thus duly held accountable; and that, despite the opposition towards Christianity, the message of God's saving grace will continue to spread powerfully throughout the nation.

A church leader in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh has been convicted on false charges of forcing Hindus to convert to Christianity. On September 25th, a court in Jhabua sentenced Pastor Vikas Nimach to five years in prison and ordered him to pay a fine of over $1,600 CAD. His legal team intends to appeal the recent verdict, claiming that the trial lawyer mishandled the proceedings.
The convicted pastor was arrested in December 2021, along with five other believers. The complainants claimed that these Christians had allegedly bribed Hindus to come to their church with promises to provide each of these congregants approximately $16 CAD per month, a motorbike, plus free medical treatment and education for their families. While the other five Christians were granted bail, Pastor Vikas spent nine months in jail before obtaining bail in September 2022.
Madhya Pradesh is one of the 12 Indian states that have implemented anti-conversion legislation. These laws are frequently misused by individuals with personal vendettas, as well as by those seeking to stoke religious divisions. For more details on the persecution facing Christians in India, go to our country report.
Please uphold Pastor Vikas in your prayers as he begins to serve his prison sentence, asking our Heavenly Father to keep this church leader strong in his faith and provide for all of his physical, spiritual and emotional needs. In addition, pray that Pastor Vikas' appeal hearing will be successful, enabling him to soon be set free. Continue to remember the numerous other followers of Jesus throughout this nation who are facing similar situations, praying that they too will receive ongoing encouragement, strength and protection. Despite the many challenges being encountered by these believers, may they faithfully proclaim the message of God's free gift of salvation throughout India so that multitudes more will receive opportunities to come to faith in Christ.

PAKISTAN: Zafar Bhatti's Ongoing Struggle for Justice

Sources: British Asian Christian Association, Pakistan Christian Post, Church in Chains

Zafar Bhatti

Zafar Bhatti
Photo: Pakistan Christian Post

Zafar Bhatti is listed as Pakistan's longest-serving blasphemy prisoner. Since the day of his arrest on July 12th, 2012, the Christian man has remained in prison. During harsh police interrogation, Zafar was forced to confess to blasphemy. He has since recanted the previously made statement, asserting that it was spoken while under duress. During his time in prison, the believer has also encountered various health concerns. (For previously published reports on Zafar's case, see this page.)
Over the years, numerous appeals and petitions have been filed in attempts to challenge Zafar's conviction. Due to the dedicated efforts of those advocating on his behalf, the courts have scheduled ten hearings since May of this year. However, the original complainant, Ibrar Ahmad Khan, has continued to follow the case, filing applications to submit additional alleged evidence against the accused Christian man. Thankfully, the judge has rejected Ibrar's requests, emphasizing that all evidence should have been recorded earlier. Although the most recent hearing was scheduled for September 23rd, it has since been postponed.
Amid concerns for the imprisoned believer's physical condition, health issues have also been mounting for his wife, Nawab Bibi. The 76-year-old Christian woman has become very weak and suffers with failing eyesight. Despite these health challenges, Nawab continues to visit her husband in prison every month. The British Asian Christian Association, which has been supplying support and daily provisions for the elderly couple, is presently seeking to provide the financial means for Nawab to undergo cataract surgery.
In hopes of this long-suffering Christian brother's soon release from prison, pray that any further delays to the hearings of his case will be rejected. Throughout the process, ask the Lord to work within the hearts of the court officials, guiding them to rule in Zafar's favour. With thankfulness for God's faithful provision throughout this lengthy ordeal, please pray that He will continue to meet the ongoing needs of this imprisoned believer and his wife – ultimately providing this couple divine healing and restoration.

halloween part 2

You know Christians think, they are on some kind of party ride, the devil is deadly serious, there are thousands of groups all across the world, who will pray for the destruction of Christianity on this time, this is the height of evil and must be opposed.

It is time to tell you kids not to participate in this, to forbid them.. yes, to be strict, what peer group pressure is placed on them. It is time for you pastors to preach against this evil, it is time for the church to pray against this evil, to not go to stores who sell this stuff.

It is time to burn the stuff you have about Halloween and go to the Lord in Repentance.. are you prepared to burn all the Halloween stuff you have in your house?

THE DEVIL IS NOT PLAYING GAMES, WHY ARE WE?

IF you join in with this evil, then you are standing with the devil's side, what was Aaron and the Children of Israel doing, when they worshipped the Golden Calf, bowing down to an idol. What are we doing when we have pumpkins around the porch? Oh, they look pretty, the Lord doesn't think so?

WHO IS ON THE LORD'S SIDE?

You refuse and join in with this stuff, then you are in rebellion against God and what is rebellion, it is like the sin of witchcraft

In 1 Samuel 15, the Lord says that rebellion, which is a refusal to do what you are told and to go your own way, is like this

22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.

In verse 16 of Ephesians 5, we are told to redeem the time, literally to buy it back. If you are involving yourself in this practice.. stop and turn in repentance.

There are millions of Christians who say nothing and are silent, it is time to rise up like a mighty army of prayer warriors. Prayer chains against this evil should run in every church, every city, every village and every Christian household. We need to stand against this evil and to come to Lord in repentance asking his forgiveness and pleading for revival, so that this evil will be banished forever.

If you refuse to obey the Lord and participate in Halloween, then you are guilty of witchcraft, and as Galatians 5 says.. no one who does such a thing will enter the Kingdom of God.. A very sobering thought.. Amen

HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS PAGAN TIME.

A final word, the 31st October is the anniversary of Martin Luther and what he did back in 1517, what did he do you say?

Christians know more about halloween than they do about the reformation, what a disgrace that is...amen

I am going to let my dear friend Pastor Michael say a few words about this, he is far more qualified, over to you Brother...

Hello everyone, and Halloween or All Hallows Eve, does have its roots in paganism. While some do not set out to be a part of paganism when they let their children "trick or treat," we do need to understand where this "holiday" came from. While the practices were and are different, depending on which country you came from, it is based on the belief in ghosts, and paganism over 2000 years ago. This article gives a good summary:

What are the origins of Halloween?

The question arises about a Christian's participation in this day. Keith has stated his conviction above, and we should be careful. Even if we don't celebrate it, there is an opportunity, at least in America, to use this to share the Gospel. At no other time does someone have many kids, and adults, coming to the door, asking for candy! What a great opportunity to give out tracks and a treat! We overcome the darkness by bringing the light and there is nothing brighter than the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the only way of salvation!

In His Love, Michael

HALLOWEEN

Here are some more ideas, for you to oppose this evil.

You can pray binding the power of Satan.. and get your church and house group together to do the same. Have a prayer meeting at your church on the date of Halloween or open up your home for a prayer meeting

You can prayer walk you area.. applying the blood of Jesus to every house.

You can give out gospels to every child who comes to your house Trick or Treating.

You can speak out against the evils of Halloween.. we need people who will stand up and say "THUS SAYS THE LORD."

Please share this devotion with all your friends and groups esp place on Facebook.

Thanks, and God bless

Keith

NOONDAY DEVOTION BY KEITH
REPROVE AND CHALLENGE ALL EVIL WAYS

11 Take no part in and have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds and enterprises of darkness, but instead [let your lives be so in contrast as to] [d]expose and reprove and convict them.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of or mention the things that [such people] practice in secret.
13 But when anything is exposed and reproved by the light, it is made visible and clear; and where everything is visible andclear there is light.
14 Therefore He says, Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine (make day dawn) upon you and give you light.
15 Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people),
16 Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil.

The Lord has laid this devotion on my heart. I feel very passionately about the evils of Halloween.

Now I know many believers think I am going over the top on this issue, so let's start with these verses in Galatians 5

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Do you notice anything believer?.. yes, Witchcraft is included in this list.

Jesus talks about things like adultery and murder in the Sermon on the Mount; He says that if you do them in your heart, you are as guilty as those who actually do them.. what about participating in Halloween?

Well, if you let you children dress up in ghostly costumes, or place carved pumpkins outside your house.. you are involving yourself in this evil practice, when God clearly tells you in his word to have nothing to do with it.. forgive me, I am a bit slow.. but even a slow person like realises that this for what it is.. DISOBEDIENCE.

What does the first part of Ephesians 5:11 say.. HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WORKS OF DARKNESS.. IT MEANS EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS!!!.

The Ephesian believers had a great bonfire and burnt all their pagan books.. they took these verses to heart, more to the point, they obeyed them.

Believers want God to be their friend.. well, He is.. If you obey Him. He demands that you burn all this Halloween stuff and that you do not participate in this godless and pagan holiday.

If Christians acted like the Ephesian believers and burned all this rubbish, we would have bonfires stretching all across America and other countries. I estimate and I am just guessing here that Evangelical Bible believing Christians spend up to 100 million in many currencies on Halloween food, costumes etc. How much would world missions benefit if that money was given to support the work of the church overseas? How many missionaries are struggling for support and the church wastes money on this rubbish?

Now I won't be the only person teaching or preaching this in the run up to Halloween, but some people do not get it.. it is TIME TO OBEY THE LORD AND TO HAVE NO FELLOWSHIP WITH THE WORKS OF DARKNESS.

This so-called holiday is in the realm of the devil.. he is our enemy.. it seems some Christians have crossed over to the enemy's side for the time leading up to Halloween.

IF you go on any social media site such as FACEBOOK and click on the satanic groups, their groups have up to 20,000 members, my brothers and sisters, the devil is not playing games, we laugh at Nero and say he fiddled whilst Rome burnt, but in joining in with the Halloween fun, we play with fire. We are not to fiddle about with these things, we are to rebuke this evil. The first settlers that came to America would be shocked to see this across the country, this was not brought by them.

PRAY FOR OCCULTISTS

Occultism - Prayercast

Kate Forbes tells Scotland's Christians not to 'fear,' Church is pivotal to fixing nation's problems

Scotland's deputy first minister has sought to reassure Christians that they have a role to play in helping the country address its challenges.

Speaking at an event at the Scottish Parliament hosted by the Evangelical Alliance, Kate Forbes encouraged Christiansto be confident in seeking to serve the nation and their communities in love.

"We know the big changes that have been delivered over generations in this country because of the work of Christians in the country," said Forbes, who is a committed Christian.

Archeologists discover fortress, sword possibly from Pharaoh linked to Exodus

A fortress from the reign of the Egyptian pharaoh, popularly although not definitively associated with the book of Exodus when the Israelites were enslaved, has been discovered by archaeologists.

According to Biblical Archaeology, the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities confirmed the finding from the era of Ramesses II (1279 - 1213 BC), known as Ramesses the Great, and located Northwest of the Nile Delta, 60 miles South of Alexandria.

Biblical Archaeology detailed the fortress discovered as a barracks with warehouses for storing weapons and foods. All the mudbrick buildings were grouped into two sides.

Hyper-partisanship, fear of civil discord: Why we need free and fair election more than ever before

Earlier this week, I was in the process of my daily ritual of reading the four newspapers I read every weekday morning (The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, and the Nashville Tennessean).

This particular day two articles caught my attention as being especially newsworthy at this precise moment in our nation’s history. As we are experiencing an excruciatingly close and unpredictable national election, these articles illustrated that the tightness of the national election are an accurate reflection of the even divide in our national electorate.

The first article in USA Today, "Red states are redder. Blue states are bluer. And our politics? Hotter," by Susan Page, Suhail Bhat, Savannah Kuchar and Sudiksha Kochi, is part of a multi-part series on the population shifts taking place in the United States and the impact it is having on our national life. America has undergone a significant “sorting” of its population “since 2012 that has intensified the partisan leanings in states across the country, leaving only a handful where the outcome of the Nov. 5 presidential election remains in doubt.”

As a consequence, 40 of the 50 states now have one-party control (governor and state legislature) in their respective states. This one-party control (17 under Democrats and 23 Republicans) in these states has led to more conservative government in red states and more liberal government in blue states.

Without Prophetic Vision, No Restraint

Select verses Proverbs 29 ESV

18 Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint,
but blessed is he who keeps the law.
19 By mere words a servant is not disciplined,
for though he understands, he will not respond.
20 Do you see a man who is hasty in his words?
There is more hope for a fool than for him.
22 A man of wrath stirs up strife,
and one given to anger causes much transgression.
23 One's pride will bring him low,
but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor.
25 The fear of man lays a snare,
but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.
26 Many seek the face of a ruler,
but it is from the Lord that a man gets justice.
27 An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous,
but one whose way is straight is an abomination to the wicked.

What is a “prophetic vision”? And why does lack of such result in the people casting off restraint? Well, a prophetic vision can be the preaching of the gospel of Christ as Jesus taught it, and as his NT apostles taught it, in its fulness. It can also have to do with the spiritual gift of prophecy which engages us in the spreading of the full gospel message and in the rebuking of the lies, and in making the teachings of the Scriptures practical to our lives and world today according to our present day situations and needs.

Prophecy includes consolation and instruction. “Encouragement,” though, is not just all the feel-good stuff. Another word for this is “edification” which involves “constructive criticism and instruction that builds a person up to be the suitable dwelling place of God.” And encouragement is a “summons, exhortation, entreaty” and “holy urging,” as well as it is joy, gladness, and comfort. And this “holy urging” “is used of the Lord directly motivating and inspiring believers to carry out his plan.” So it can refer to exhortation, warning, and encouragement. (Source: Bible Hub interlinear)

This is severely lacking in our day and time here in America, for the majority all seem to be teaching a diluted and altered gospel message intended to tickle itching ears and to not offend the ungodly, and which does not teach death to sin and walks of obedience to our Lord in holy living, as required of God as part of God-gifted faith which results in forgiveness of sins and eternal life with God. And so the people are casting off restraint, i.e. the commandments of the Lord, in order to live however they want to live.

Now, as God’s holy people today, we are not under the Old Covenant liturgical, ceremonial, sacrificial, purification, and dietary laws and restrictions, including the requirement of circumcision of all males, which the Jews of the Old Covenant were under. But we are not to be lawless. For our Lord died on that cross to deliver us (to redeem us) from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works which God prepared in advance that we should walk in them.

And Jesus gave his life up for us on that cross so that we will now die with him to sin and live to him and to his righteousness in walks of obedience to his commands, and no longer in deliberate and habitual sin. For if sin is what we obey, it will lead to death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, it will lead to righteousness and to sanctification, and its end is eternal life with Christ our Lord. For if profess Jesus as Savior but we make sin our practice, and not obedience to God, then we do not have eternal life with God.

[Tit 2:11-14; Eph 2:8-10; 1 Pet 2:24; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14; Gal 5:16-21; Lu 9:23-26; Matt 7:21-23; 1 Jn 1:5-10; 1 Jn 2:3-6; 1 Jn 3:4-10]

Human pride and stubbornness, though, will bring many down. Those who hold on to their pride and selfishness, who don’t want anyone else instructing them in how they ought to live, will go on charting their own course out of stubbornness and rebellion, and so they will continue to fall. Sometimes these are what I term “My Do It” people who are like stubborn children who want to do everything themselves with no one helping them, even if by going that direction they continue to fail time and time again.

Now, if we truly are following the Lord Jesus with our lives, and if what we are teaching and sharing is the true gospel message, and not these altered and cheapened versions of the gospel of Christ, we are going to be hated and mistreated and persecuted for our walks of obedience to our Lord. But we are not to fear our persecutors or what they might do to us, but our trust must remain in the Lord. This does not mean that we won’t suffer abuse. We will. But the Lord will carry us through it all and keep us in his love and care.

Something else that we must guard our hearts and minds against is putting our trust in other human beings who are bound to fail us. We should not be looking to other humans to be our salvation from what ails us as a nation or as the people of this world. For what ails our nations is sin, and only God can deliver us from our addictions to sin and to empower us to live holy and godly lives for the glory of God. So our trust needs to be in the Lord and not in other human beings who are bound to fail us and even turn against us.

Oh, to Be Like Thee, Blessed Redeemer

Lyrics by Thomas O. Chisholm, 1897
Music by W. J. Kirkpatrick, 1897

Oh, to be like Thee! blessèd Redeemer,
This is my constant longing and prayer;
Gladly I’ll forfeit all of earth’s treasures,
Jesus, Thy perfect likeness to wear.

Oh, to be like Thee! full of compassion,
Loving, forgiving, tender and kind,
Helping the helpless, cheering the fainting,
Seeking the wandering sinner to find.

O to be like Thee! lowly in spirit,
Holy and harmless, patient and brave;
Meekly enduring cruel reproaches,
Willing to suffer others to save.

O to be like Thee! while I am pleading,
Pour out Thy Spirit, fill with Thy love;
Make me a temple meet for Thy dwelling,
Fit me for life and Heaven above.

Oh, to be like Thee! Oh, to be like Thee,
Blessèd Redeemer, pure as Thou art;
Come in Thy sweetness, come in Thy fullness;
Stamp Thine own image deep on my heart.

Why Do You Hate?

Why do you hate her so much?
Why must sin now be your crutch?
Why do you go on from day after day
Lying and cheating and floundering away?

Why must you lie through your teeth?
Why must you live low, beneath?
Why do you keep on in your masquerades?
Why must you live as though life is charades?

You know the truth, don’t you now?
Still it’s to idols you bow.
And now you go on, performing a show
As though God doesn’t see, he doesn’t know.

Who do you think that you fool?
By Satan you’re used as a tool
To do all his bidding, your life to him giving,
While you’re persecuting his bride.

Gallup: Majority of Americans think ‘major third party is needed’ in political system

I also think more people need to get out and vote in the primaries and they don't. I wanted some other Republican than Trump this time so I did vote in my state's primary. But the Candidate I originally wanted had dropped out by then so I voted for the last candidate standing. Apparently the voters wanted Trump, on the Republican side.
Politics is not my life. I think it shouldn't be most people's lives. But voting in primaries, and even being involved in primary campaigns, is vital. As is the case this year, the candidates are chosen early on. General election day is a little late to really make a difference.

Stiff-Necked Who Hate the Upright

Select Verses Proverbs 29 ESV

1 He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck,
will suddenly be broken beyond healing.
3 He who loves wisdom makes his father glad,
but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.
6 An evil man is ensnared in his transgression,
but a righteous man sings and rejoices.
10 Bloodthirsty men hate one who is blameless
and seek the life of the upright.
11 A fool gives full vent to his spirit,
but a wise man quietly holds it back.
16 When the wicked increase, transgression increases,
but the righteous will look upon their downfall.

A verbal profession of faith in Jesus Christ guarantees no one genuine God-gifted and God-persuaded faith in Jesus Christ which results in the forgiveness of all sins and the hope of eternal life with God in heaven. For the faith that we need to be “in Christ” comes from God, it is gifted of God, it is persuaded of God, and it is not of our own doing – not of the will nor of the flesh of man. And biblical faith results in us dying with Christ to sin and us now living for God in walks of moral purity and obedience to our Lord.

[Heb 12:1-29; Eph 2:8-10; John 1:12-13; John 6:44; Rom 6:1-23]

Sadly, it appears that there are many professers of faith in Jesus Christ who are convinced that all their sins are forgiven, and that they are on their way to heaven, but regardless of how they live their lives here on the earth. Thus, we have among us many who are stiff-necked and stubborn and prideful who are still walking in sin and not in righteousness and holiness. They are charting their own course, and they are not following after the ways of the Lord. So, when reproved, they just stiffen their necks.

As well, we have many professers of faith in Jesus Christ who are living in sexual immorality and idolatry, dabbling in or walking in sin, going places they should not go on the internet or on TV or on social media, etc. They are largely being ruled by the lusts of the flesh and by sinful desires. Although they know the way that is right and just and pure, they continually choose to go the way that is immoral, wicked, blasphemous against God, and which is hurtful to their spouses, to their children, and to their ministries (if they have any).

So, those who know better, i.e. who have made professions of faith in Jesus Christ, some of them from childhood, who have been trained in the Scriptures and in the ways of the Lord, and/or who have taught or who are presently teaching the Scriptures to others, some of them pastors of church congregations, will sometimes end up being resentful and bitter towards those who are living righteously. And they may even be those who, out of spite, do all they can to try to trip up the righteous so as to accuse them.

But knowing the good that they ought to do, and not doing it, but doing the opposite, and being resentful and bitter towards those who are living righteously may then stir up all sorts of anger within them. And so they may end up being quick tempered and easily angered and grumpy and harsh with those who they are supposed to be loving. They may even set traps for those they are supposed to love in hopes that the righteous will fall into them so that they can rejoice over their failures.

And the more that people are teaching a diluted and altered version of the true gospel, in order to tickle itching ears, and in order to appease human flesh, and so as not to offend the ungodly, the more that wickedness and the wicked will increase, because there is no restraint. For so many are not teaching the commands of God nor his requirements of us for us to be of genuine faith in him and to receive his promises. Instead they are teaching a false grace of God which coddles us in our sins rather than rebukes us.

But those of us who are of genuine God-persuaded and God-gifted faith in our Lord Jesus should be those who are daily denying self and dying to sin and walking in obedience to our Lord in holy living. Our lives should be under the control and power of God, and our lives should be being guided by the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit, and not by the flesh. This does not necessarily mean we will be absolutely perfect in every way, but that obedience to our Lord and holy living are now our practice, and not sin.

For, if any of us professes faith in Jesus Christ, but then we continue in deliberate and habitual sin, and not in walks of obedience to our Lord in holy living, according to the New Testament Scriptures, we do not have eternal life with God nor true salvation and deliverance from sin. Heaven will not be our eternal destiny, but hell will be where we end up. So we all need to take this seriously, for a whole lot of people are counting on ending up in heaven who are going to end up in hell, instead, because they did not obey God.

For Our Nation

An Original Work / September 11, 2012

Bombs are bursting. Night is falling.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Trust Him with your life today.
Make Him your Lord and your Savior.
Turn from your sin. Follow Jesus.
He will forgive you of your sin;
Cleanse your heart, made new within.

Men betraying: Our trust fraying.
On our knees to God we’re praying,
Seeking God to give us answers
That are only found in Him.
God is sovereign over all things.
Nothing from His mind escaping.
He has all things under His command,
And will work all for good.

Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.

Men deceiving: We’re believing
In our Lord, and interceding
For our nation and its people
To obey their God today.
He is our hope for our future.
For our wounds He offers suture.
He is all we need for this life.
Trust Him with your life today.

My brothers and sisters, @AlexB23 @All Becomes New @Hazelelponi @mourningdove~

This is another one of my favorite Skillet songs!!

Today we live, today we breathe
Today we know that we are strong when we are weak
Today we trust, we overcome
Take every chain that kept us slaves and throw em' off
We're not waiting for permission
We defy our inhibition
Like our middle name is "fearless"
Unafraid
If we're gonna fly, we fly like eagles
Arms out wide
If we're gonna fear, we fear no evil
We will rise
By Your power, we will go
By Your spirit, we are bold
If we're gonna stand, we stand as giants
If we're gonna walk, we walk as lions
We walk as lions
Today is ours, it's always been
Before we face the fight
We know who's gonna win
We live by faith and not by sight
We don't want safe and quiet
We don't wanna run and hide
This is not an intermission
It's our time, not gonna miss it
You've already called us fearless
Unafraid
If we're gonna fly, we fly like eagles
Arms out wide
If we're gonna fear, we fear no evil
We will rise
By Your power, we will go
By Your spirit, we are bold
If we're gonna stand, we stand as giants
If we're gonna walk, we walk as lions
We walk as lions
Oh, everywhere we go
The battle has been won
We know You've gone before us
So, we're taking hold of faith
With every step we take
We know we'll rise victorious
If we're gonna fly
We're gonna fly like eagles
Arms out wide
If we're gonna fear
We fear no evil
By Your power we will go
By Your Spirit we are bold
If we're gonna stand
We stand like giants
If we're gonna walk
We walk like Lions!!!!!

"Goatwhore"

Another CBM band that I really like. They have had I think three releases only. An EP, a collab, and a full length. All are great IMO.

The heavens blaze with seven standards risen
Come forth thy secret fire, bring forth thy holy flame
The trumpets sound, the sword triumphant raised
The roar of cavalry celestial - they raise a cry

And rain with terror forth, the thunder of hooves a-raging
Rattle the earth in upheaval, Behold the horror
Come down upon thee - the elements spun in aggression
they heed a harbinger's call: "the funeral of the system."

Hear ye oh vessels of iron and miry clay
Thy chants fading to nothing in His Presence

In empyreal majesty, the Temple incarnate triumphant
In the way of Melchizedek, the Sword double-edged
Lo, as He rides over mountains blazing in turmoil
He shatters your spires, cathedrals, and minarets

No schema, no worship, no teraphim conceal thee from out of his wrath
He shatters the relics thou worshipped and the icon from out of thy grasp
For thy garb be embellished with blood; of martyrs, of saints and of innocents
lo it cries out from the ground:
"and justice for Abel."

Oh heavens ablaze with Thy Glory,
ingrained with Thy might - Empyreal Holiness!
the oceans thou gather like leaves,
and the mountains shall herald Thy coming,
and the tent of God shall be with men

CNN Fact checking blurb About the Harris-Trump Debate

While Trump is certainly a compulsive liar...someone like Daniel Dale trying to make that case cheapens the whole thing.

Daniel Dale isn't a real fact checker, he's a guy who focuses mostly on calling out and nitpicking conservatives, and then tosses in a few "soft fact checks" of their opponents to maintain the patina of objectivity.

His conclusion was that Trump made 33 false claims and Harris only made 1 during that entire debate...really? lol
