  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not going to follow orthodox or catholic church but have question on priesthood

But I do wonder for those who want to be orthodox who can be how does one answer the problem with being assured a person is truly received if perhaps the priest who baptised him is not considered legitimate that does not the church teach there is requirements that should be met before being priest for it to be valid that what if he broke it and they still ordained him or he didn’t believe sincerly.
the worthiness of the priest isn’t relevant to the legitimacy of the sacrament, since the sacrament is God working through the priest.

I am not going to follow orthodox or catholic church because it does not meet people where they are as christ taught He does to the samaritan woman that does not give assurance if person effort is enough to see a priest for him to be saved. That also if one converts to orthodox and catholic church and is baptised and has communion in a prison does not give assurance for how often person must seek communion when he may no be able to in a prison
you really shouldn’t lead with needless digs at us, especially since those digs are just ignorant statements about what we believe.

African Methodist Episcopal Church reaffirms ban on same-sex marriage

Well, the AMEC is not "closed communion" in practice (although the Book of Discipline might be read that way).

But there isn't a common relationship between the AMEC and the UMC.
Ah, I understand.

Thanks for the reply.

Crying Out to God

psalm51.jpg

Crying Out to God

Psalm 51 is a powerful prayer of repentance for this stage of the Path. In this prayer, we beg the Lord to have mercy upon
us and to cleanse us from all our sins. We cry out to God to create a clean heart in us, making it whiter than snow.

The Love Crucified Community. The Simple
Path to Union with God (p. 57). Kindle Edition.

++++++++++

True repentance is based on a deep truth. As I grow in self-knowledge, I become aware of my need for mercy. The need for repentance also becomes obvious. Humility makes me aware of my freedom, that I am not a victim but responsible for my choices. It is the understanding that ‘sin’ is a reality and not some form of neurotic guilt. To admit that one is a sinner is a form of psychic health. So, Psalm 51 when prayed slowly can bring the one praying to a place of being able to admit one’s need for mercy.

Growth in freedom is a slow process. It is in our choices to be truthful with ourselves that allows freedom to grow. Honesty before God is healing for nothing can be hidden from the gaze of our Eternal Father.
This is freeing, not something to be feared.

Mature faith has to be achieved by facing our false images of God which can lead to servile fear. We are not called to that, to fear. In the 1st letter of John, it is stated “Love Cast out fear”. ‘Trust’ is a choice, so fear has to be faced and stepped over. There is some discomfort in this, but it has to be faced if one wants a deep intimate relationship with Christ.Br.MD

My gaze is upon each of you. I see your struggles; I know your trials; I feel
and suffer your sorrows;I collect your tears; I suffer with each of you.
Have perfect faith in the God that loves you… Believe in the power of your hidden ordinary lives
lived through Me,with Me, and in Me, ONE with Me, no longer two. Believe in My crucified love,
in the power of My crucified gaze to penetrate all darkness. My gaze is upon you;
allow Me to heal your wounds and purify all darkness. My desire for you,
My thirst for each of you, is to make you My living icons.

'Flawed judgment': Australian court rules against women-only app, claims sex not merely a biological concept

See, they said at first that there was a difference between "gender" and "biological ex." Now they're trying to erase even that difference.

Ridiculous. These people will make up anything for attention.

Gender is sex, and sex is gender.

Get over it.

Officer who killed Sonya Massey after she rebuked him in Jesus’ name is ‘emissary of Satan,’ dad says

When I use the term I'm acknowledging a demonic presence or its influence on something that occurred. It is not an exorcism as @RDKirk explained but it is a form of spiritual warfare. In layman's terms I'd liken it to a warning or knock it off statement. In most instances I know the culprit. The spirit is detected through the gift of discerning of spirits. 'You' isn't always generic.

How do you Release anger ?

Tonight is a bit hard for me but I realize I'm carrying alot of anger, sadness, depression and fear. I feel myself being a bit bitter as well.

I feel anger and sadness come up alot.
Is there a way to spiritually release this bc I just don't want to carry this with me.

How do I let this go?

I'm not sure, sister Macchiato. When I find out how, I'll let you know. In the mean time, I'm mulling the Serenity Prayer over in my mind, hoping that I can soon figure out how to "accept" the seemingly immovable and frustrating parts of my reality. :prayer:

In Christ
