  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Prophetic Gathering on the National Mall on Yom Kippur (Livestream 10/12)

His research may have been faulty, but for me it opened the door to compare European based Christianity to the Bible and the two have little in common. Whether it was Constantine himself or a successor, the Church was corrupted very early by paganism and hasn't repented to this day. Christmas and Ishtar are not Christian holidays, but they are considered sacred by the Church and are in opposition to the experiential lessons God prescribed.
There is no "Ishtar" holiday, unless you mean Easter, which has nothing at all to do with Ishtar at all and is absolutely a Christian holiday. A slightly more credible case can be made against Christmas, but there are big problems with claims of it being pagan as well.

reach and teach devotions

Buddha, Mohammed, Confucius, Jesus

These were all great moral teachers, but one is different to the others, Jesus is different and unique because of the following reasons.

But it is important to note that Jesus is not merely “different” than these men: He is King of kings and Lord of lords. Here are some more reasons why Jesus is more than just a great teacher.

1. Jesus is the Son of God

In Matthew 3, Jesus was baptized by in the Jordan by the prophet John the Baptist. As He came out of the water, the heavens opened and His Father spoke saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:16). There is no other person in human history whom God refers to as His Son.

2. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary

Jesus is the only One who was conceived by the Holy Spirit. In Luke 1, the Angel Gabriel appears to the Virgin Mary and declares to her that she had been chosen to give birth to the Son of God.

3. Jesus died for ME

2 Corinthians 5:21 tells us that “He who knew no sin became sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” Jesus is the only One who was willing and able to give His life for you and for me. And it is His blood, and His blood alone that makes atonement for sin and makes us right with the living God.

4. Jesus rose from the dead

Jesus is the only One who rose the dead. Confucius, Mohammed, and Buddha died and they are still dead. In Matthew 28, we have one of several accounts of Christ’ resurrection. Mary goes to the grave of Jesus, expecting to anoint His body to slow the pace of decomposition. However, she is met by an angel who tells her that He is not there, but that He is risen from the dead. She then meets her Saviour who is resurrected! Her sorrow over the death of Christ is immediately replaced with the joy of knowing that He has risen. And it is His resurrection that sets Christianity apart from every other religion on earth.

5. Jesus is the only way to God.

There are some that say there are several ways to get to God. Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father, except they come through me.” If you want to know God, you must go through Christ. How do you do that? By asking Him to forgive you of your sins, repenting of your sin, realising that you can't save yourself and throw yourself on his mercy and grace.

How does God save us? He saves us by grace through faith. Ephesians 2:8-9 say, “For by grace are you saved through faith, and not the of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast."

What will you receive when God saves you?

You will receive life in abundance, you will have God's Spirit living inside you as you go through life to guide and comfort you. You will have a new Christian family and you will have the assurance of heaven and eternal life. That abundant life starts here on earth as you have fellowship with God as your relationship with Him has been restored. There are millions across China and across the world, who have made this commitment and as someone who made it 40 years ago, it is the best thing I have ever done.

Are you ready to receive Jesus? Say this simple prayer:

Father God, I realise that I am out of fellowship with You, because of my sin and I come before You, to ask that You would forgive my sin, because of the shed blood of your precious Son on the cross. I repent from every evil way and give my life over to You to use in any way You see fit. Thank You for making me a child of God and I will live for You and You alone. In Jesus name, amen

If you prayed that prayer, here is what you should do next:

Pray... Talk to God about everything.

Read the Bible. Start in the Gospel of John.

Fellowship... join with your brothers and sisters in the faith on Sunday and during the week.

Share... tell others what has happened to you.

Baptism... be immersed in water.

The Trinity

The primary word for understanding the Trinity is “representation.” Thus the Lord Jesus is the “exact representation” of God (Heb 1:3), which I believe answers to why Christ is occasionally demonstrated in Scripture as “God” or as the “Father” (Isaiah 9:6). The Word is not the Father and the Father is not the Word; but the Word, or Son of God, is so much the representation of God, Who is the Father—that He can be referred to as God. Christ has from eternity past been the “Word of God.” He came in this world from the Father or God, as the Word of God (John 1:14), and has taken back His place as the Word of God (Rev 19:13).

Concerning creation I believe when any One of Them act, it is power of the Three, because Deities though being three individuals, always act as One, thus when They said "Let Us create," it was not just the Word, though He was the One through which They created, thus it being a joint action, as in all They do. Just a few examples concerning Christ being the Creator; “hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ” (Eph 3:9 KJV, NKJV); Col 1:16-17; Heb 1:2).

Though we may maintain numerous concepts of Scripture in our own understanding (which may not necessarily be wrong), it's only accurate when maintaining Biblical validation. Jesus said the Father is God, and that God is the Father: “My Father, and your Father; and to My God, and your God” (John 20:17). This also answers to why most of Paul’s Epistles begin with “Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ (Rom 1:7; 2Co 1:2; Gal 1:3; Eph 1:2; Col 1:2; Phm 1:3).

This is why we see in Scripture “the Son of God,” “the Son of the Father” (2Jo 1:3), “the Spirit of God” and “the Spirit of your Father” (Mat 10:20); the Son of God, the Spirit of God--but not the Father of God, because the Father is God. Scripture occasionally identifies Jesus as God and Father but this is in relation to Him being indwelt by "the fullness of the Godhead" (Col 2:9), e.g. everything seen, heard, said or done is the same as if it were God, or the Father (John 14:9); hence the passage “I and My Father are one” (Jhn 10:30), i.e. are one accord in everything.

The Son is not the Father and the Father is not the Son but They, along with Their Holy Spirit are “one,” i.e. in “one” accord concerning everything (1John 5:7 KJV). Jesus said, for "Ye have neither heard His (Father) voice at any time, nor seen His shape" (John 5:37), but Christ’s redemption mission involved revealing the Father and Himself (John 1:18).

Scripture continuously stresses the Father being God, for Jesus said of Him, "He is greater than I" (Jhn 14:28), and “My Father, which gave them Me, is greater than all” (Jhn 10:29). We also read, "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things (creation), and we by Him" (1Cor 8:6).

To me the significance in this article is in making the distinction between the Father and the Son, and the mandate that both are to be equally worshiped and honored (to be a Christian), for "All should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him" (John 5:23).

What one believes concerning the Trinity is not salvation-essential, for only what one believes concerning Christ as the Savior is salvation-essential; then after this, God “works in you” (Phl 2:13).

Paul appeared before which Caesar?

59 CE, Ac 25:

12 Festus conferred with his council and replied, “You have appealed to Caesar. To Caesar you will go!”
60 CE Ac 28:

16 When we arrived in Rome, Paul was permitted to stay by himself, with a soldier to guard him.
Paul told the local Jewish leaders that in Jerusalem, he had to appeal to Caesar (v. 19).

61 CE,

30 Paul stayed there two full years in his own rented house, welcoming all who came to visit him. 31 Boldly and freely he proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.
62 CE, Php 4:

22 All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar's household.
Paul had some connection with Caesar's household.

65 CE, 2Tm 4:

6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.
Paul probably died soon after that. There was no explicit recording of Paul's meeting Caesar.

Emperor Nero ruled from 54–68 CE. It is plausible that Paul had some form of direct or indirect contact with Nero during his time in Rome.

What the Left Calls Voting Rights Cheapens Your Vote

NPR ran a story just the other day comparing Trump and Harris on “voting rights.” It is a fascinating look at the perverse way in which the left uses this term.

To believe this article, and indeed from much else from the left or from the Harris campaign itself, is to imagine that Trump’s position is one designed entirely to keep some significant number of people from voting, while Harris advocates merely for preventing evil conservatives from robbing some portion of the electorate (non-white, of course) of the sacred right to the franchise.

Of course this is not the story at all.

What the left wants is total federal control over the voting requirements and processes of each state. There is no evidence at all that any state currently discriminates against potential voters on the basis of race. The left nevertheless insists that granting any amount of local autonomy over the voting process means that a given state might be engaged in such discrimination. What they really mean, however, is that some localities may not follow the left’s dictates on voting, which involve eliminating serious efforts to prevent ineligible people from voting and making the voting as simple as mailing a postcard.

The fundamental question that is never addressed is this: Why should voting be as easy as possible?

We consider voting important, do we not? It may even be the most important responsibility of a citizen in a free society. It is certainly a far more important part of citizenship than passing an exam in school, or getting a driver’s license, or obtaining a hunting permit, no?

Continued below.
Stacy Abrams was in an interview recently where she was confronted with her rhetoric about Georgia bill SB202 and how it would suppress votes and how under the provisions of SB202 Georgia has had record early voting totals. She stated, as only an ideologue can, that one can have voter suppression and yet still have record voting. The logic of the left wing ideologue is truly baffling. At times I think it is only sustained by putting ones fingers in your ears and shouting platitudes over any reasonable counterargument.

Who chose Stephen to serve tables?

This happened before Paul came onto the scene. Acts 6:

2 And the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said, “It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables. 3 Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty.
The Twelve set the following criteria:

  1. men of good repute
  2. full of the Spirit
  3. full of wisdom.
4 But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” 5 And what they said pleased the whole gathering, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicholas, a proselyte of Antioch.
The full number of the disciples chose the seven candidates.

6 These they set before the apostles, and they prayed and laid their hands on them.
The apostles officially appointed the Seven for church service.

In summary,

  1. The apostles set the criteria.
  2. The church members picked out the candidates.
  3. The apostles approved their appointments.

So tell me what was the first thing to go
When the numbness had taken control
What lies did you have to go tell yourself to not hate yourself
Blind to your reason
Deaf to your wisdom
The static is drowning the song that's driving the symphony of your soul

Your world is in danger
Your life is in danger
Your house is crumbling down
Everything's about to burn

Wake up, wake up
For the love of God, please hear me screaming
Your eyes are open but I know you're asleep at the wheel
And the road is ending
Wake up, wake up

What is your truth
What lies have been whispered to you
That your forces surrendered too soon
The one and only treasure you ever had worth fighting to die for
You can't taste the poison
You can't feel the bleeding
The vapor is choking the breath you breathed in from the mouth of your God

Your world is in danger
Your life is in danger
Your house is crumbling down
Everything's about to burn

Wake up, wake up

For the love of God, please hear me screaming
Your eyes are open but I know you're asleep at the wheel

Draw the Line by Disciple

Another crash, another fall, another failure
Another choice I don't want to remember
Been here too many times
Every day's another fight
I'm at war with the person I could be
Give me a chance and I'll mess up a good thing
But this is where it ends
Yeah, this is where it ends

This is where I draw the line
This is the where the old me dies
Light a match, let it burn, kiss it goodbye,
Giving up what I was
This is where I draw the line

Another battle I've lost fighting solo
How many times must I learn what I already know?
Can't do this on my own
I wasn't meant to fight alone
So I'm lifting my hands in surrender
Take my faults and my flaws, make me better
Cause this is where I end
Right where You begin
This is where I draw the line
This is the where the old me dies
Light a match, let it burn, kiss it goodbye,
Giving up what I was
This is where I draw the line

Set me on Fire
Set me on Fire

Burn me up, burn me up, burn me all the way,
Till there's nothing left but You
Burn me up, burn me up, burn me all the way,
Till there's nothing left but You

Set me on Fire

This is where I draw the line
This is the where the old me dies
Light a match, let it burn, kiss it goodbye,
Giving up what I was
This is where I draw the line
Burn me up, burn me up,
Burn me all the way,
Till there's nothing left but You
Burn me up, burn me up,
Burn me all the way,
Till there's nothing left but You
This is where I draw the line

Why did Jesus use spit in his miracles?

Jesus healed a deaf and mute man by putting his fingers into the man's ears and then using spit. Mark 7:

33 And taking him aside from the crowd privately, he put his fingers into his ears, and after spitting touched his tongue.
Another case in Mark 8:

23 And he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village, and when he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?”
He healed a man born blind by making mud with saliva and applying it to the man's eyes. John 9:

6 Having said these things, he spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then he anointed the man's eyes with the mud.
In the ancient world, saliva was commonly believed to have healing properties. Talmud mentioned the use of saliva in healing (b. Berakhot 10a). Also, Roman writers of the time referred to medicinal uses of saliva. It was culturally acceptable to them, perhaps not to us.

It created a physical point of contact of faith with the person being healed. The person could feel it tangibly. The healing process was not abstract to him.

Jesus didn't use this method in all his healings; he also healed through touch alone, speaking words, or at a distance. The use of saliva wasn't necessary for the miracle itself but served other purposes for the individuals in these specific instances.

How Should Christians Approach the 2024 Election?

I am an Australian but have had time off work due to recovering from an operation and have been able to follow the US election in detail, watching the types of policies that both candidates are putting forward. As a Christian it is clear Trump is the best candidate by a long shot. Trump consistently puts forward godly policy, like preventing Transgender Athletes competing against women in sport, stopping gender treatment for young people. Harris pushes sinful policies, one of her ads supporting pornography, along with her continual pushing of woke sexual ideology. In my opinion she is incompetent as a leader, often unable to speak clearly or concisely. Trump and Vance are clear speakers, with a clear head. The US media constantly pushes blatant lies about Trump to derail him, while trying to make Harris look good. If Trump does not win it will be a travesty against heaven.

Give us this day our DAILY BREAD

Mt 6:

11 Give us this day our daily bread.
Strong's Greek: 1967. ἐπιούσιος (epiousios) — 2 Occurrences

There are no known occurrences of G1967 in Greek literature prior to the New Testament.

BDAG ἐπιούσιος:
① deriving it fr. ἐπὶ and οὐσία necessary for existence
② a substantivizing of ἐπὶ τὴν οὖσαν sc. ἡμέραν for the current day, for today

ἐπί (epi) meant "on, over, at, for".
οὐσία (ousia) meant "substance, being".

The only other occurrence of G1967 was in Lk 11:

Give us each day our daily bread.
Strong's Greek: 740. ἄρτος (artos) — 97 Occurrences

BDAG ἄρτος:
① a baked product produced fr. a cereal grain, bread also loaf of bread
② any kind of food or nourishment
③ means of support, support, livelihood
④ reward for labor, reward, proceeds

My translation:

John Fetterman Tells Joe Rogan: ‘Immigration Has Remade Texas,’ and That’s a Good Thing

Immigration is remaking the nation, and that is a good thing, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) told media host Joe Rogan on Saturday.

“Undeniably, immigration is changing our nation,” Fetterman told Rogan, adding:

Many Democrats hope and expect the rising number of poor Latino voters in Texas will turn the state blue, thus giving Democrats a lock on presidential elections for many years.

Fetterman’s admission came two days after Sen. JD Vance said migration is turning the democratically run states into one-party governments. “I’m a conservative Republican,” Vance told Rogan, adding, “Because of what Ronald Reagan did in the 1986 amnesty, California is now effectively a permanently blue state.”

UNREGULATED MASS ILLEGAL immigration has remade Pennsylvania, too. It's not a good thing in either state. Fetterman is an apparatchik.

Effects on schools 20+% increased demand on taxpayer-funded school resources in ESL classes alone.

Effects requiring legislative changes in Pennsylvania's social institutions (business, medical, welfare, legal, etc.).

Example of propaganda in Pennsylvania ("undocumented" immigrants are not included in the report. According to the Migration Policy Institute 30% of PA's illegal immigration population has a college degree but according to the Migration Policy Institute and the Center for Migration Studies indicates that 69 percent of illegal immigrants have no education beyond high school, 13 percent have some college, and 18 percent have at least a bachelor's - so, apparently Pennsylvania got the all of the best of the those who immigrate to the US illegally, which means other states, like Texas, gets the bottom of the education ranks......., or the Pennsylvania data from the American Immigration Council is selective and thereby deceitful).

Effects on State resources. All immigrants are said to bring $4 billion into the state coffers but when only immigrants residing in PA who have entered the country illegally are measured the numbers show a $728 million loss per year. Schools, crime, property taxes, and tax resources that would otherwise go to legally residing constituents of Fetterman are all adversely affected.

Effects on the Electorate. Pennsylvania has been registering non-citizen immigrants to the voting rolls for ten years.

Effects of porous border due to Fentanyl. 300% increase of overdoses in last decade; 8)5 due to fentanyl.

Fetterman is an apparatchik who is more interested in towing the party line than representing his constituents.
