  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Breath

Do people breathe in heaven?
Good question. We only have Jesus when he arose from the dead in his healed old body. He had back his old lungs, but that doesn't tell us anything about our future bodies, which will be different. In his new immortal body, he must have put on something different because he is in heaven, where there is no air.

Furthermore, the New Jerusalem's highest floor is higher than satellites in space--again, no air. If people want to see the view from the top floor of New Jerusalem, they will have to have air tanks or a different set of lungs.

I'd like to think that our future immortal bodies will be similar to what we have now. But Paul called such speculation "foolish." And I don't want to be a "fool!" ;) But it's a good question!

Be Thou My Vision (Heavy Metal Version)

I was listening to a song earlier this afternoon that I like on YouTube and about a minute to a minute and a half my phone did like a refresh and then started playing this song for no rhyme or reason, nothing was near my phone or anything, not even me at the time.

So, I think God chose well today with this song. (This was my first time hearing this song):
*head banging with the song*

This song is awesome. Who would have thought that heavy metal music would be perfect for those old lyrics?
Thank you for sharing this really cool song!!!

Harris Slammed Over Disastrous Solo Interview With Local Station

Harris is doing a mini filibuster.

That's one way of looking at it. She dodged the questions of "how are you different from Biden" and "can you think of a reason Trump has supporters?"

And I'm paraphrasing.

Let's be clear...that was the right move. She isn't really different from Biden....she won't be running things just like Biden currently isn't.

If she said "Trump's clearly more brave than me"....since I'm nervous about a one-on-one interview for 11 minutes and he's got people trying to shoot him. That's not going to fly.

And you can see the wheels turning as she tries to balance the interests and demands of a diverse voting coalition thats more than half of the country.

????

Most of her current voters were the same voters she had when it was announced she was taking over the ticket. You're not entirely wrong, she does have a diverse coalition....

Big pharma
Multinational investment firms
Big business
Banking
And unsurprisingly, the institute of both public and higher education.
Establishment Media

The identity group voters just think they're on the same team. The feminists, gays, trans, are not on the same team. Jews and Muslims and black people aren't on the same team. In fact, black people and anyone...including the indigenous people they claim....aren't on the same team. The white pseudo-socialist liberal isn't an ally of anyone.

The reason these companies signal to the left that they're on your side is because....like you....they believe it's an actual team that supports each other and shares values. That's not the case though.

Whether or not she understands it....Harris is the uniparty trying to retain its grip. It was less obvious when each side could pretend to have different views and she wouldn't be bragging about having 200 Republicans on her side.

In reality though, the reason why Obama was every bit as disappointing as GW Bush is because every 4 years....they're told what to do and how to do it. All the donors are lined up on one side....and Trump's getting shot at. Harris spent most of this interview trying to convince people she's got middle class working roots. This doesn't take Columbo to figure out.

Want something different? Change the system so we dont penalize alt party voters with the spoiler effect.

RFK tried to run....as an alt candidate under the Democratic Party. He was barred from debates. He was scrubbed off ballots. The only places he was allowed to be on the ballot were states he was more likely to take Trump votes. He knows the score...he opted out.

Feast of Unleavened Bread and the Night Jesus was Betrayed.

Thank you SO MUCH for your reply. I had no idea this was such a hotly debated topic. I apologize. I did not mean to step in poo.

Nah, it's all good, and I didn't mean it to come across that way. In fact I was waiting for the sparks to fly and for some reason it didn't happen, (lol). Nothing wrong with what you asked!

The Beginning of the End of Recreational Catholicism

While Recreational Catholicism—the tangled knot of the therapeutic, political, theatrical, and ego-massaging trend besetting the Church—has had its day, we are now on the cusp of a resurrection.

Recreational Catholicism? Let me explain.

It is an attribution identifying the current stage of collapse in the Roman Church. Its coinage is meant to convey the tangled knot of the therapeutic, political, theatrical, and ego-massaging trend besetting the Church, all of which produces a kind a zombie Catholic, who is daily fed on what Huxley called in Brave New World the “feelies”: engineered pleasures that maintain their victims in a state of floating euphoria.

Its principal vehicle is the liturgy, where Sunday “celebrations” are carefully planned by Liturgy Committees for maximum effusions of non-threatening messages of “welcoming.” While normal men gag on its oozing sentimentality, certain kinds of Catholics crave it. Sunday after Sunday. It is like a narcotic, you see.

What kind of seeds are YOU planting today?

In answer to the O.P., Truth!
This is the truth !!

# 1 You have to become IMITATORS of me ( Paul ) of me , just as I also am of Christ .

# 2 And in 1 Cor 3:6 Paul planted , Apollo waters , but God is causing the growth , meaning that people get saved .

# 3 And Eph 3:9 Paul tells all what they are to be Preaching , Eph 3:9 , And to make all see what is the DISPENSATION of the

MYSTERY , the one having been kept secret from the AGES in God , the one having created the all things by Jesus Christ .

And also Rom 16:25 and 26 !!

In New Book, Fulton Sheen Speaks on the Devil — and We Should Listen

When Fulton Sheen speaks, I tend to listen.

I wish he were still alive now. How we could use a voice like his, amidst all the confusion we are hearing today.

But Fulton Sheen was a prophet, and he obviously completed his mission. He issued the warnings He felt God lead for him to speak. And those warnings still resonate with me today.

Rebuking and the Role of the Prophet

We see all throughout the Bible that there are some, which we call prophets, who rebuke the unbelievers.

It is thought that in the midst of Jeremiah's preaching, obviously, the people did not listen. But the moment that Jeremiah left, they wept over his leaving, after the destruction of Jerusalem. Such is the role of the prophet--that when they are in ministry, they are despised, hated even. It is not until the prophet is gone that (s)he is dearly missed.

We see these kinds of examples all throughout the Bible. From Moses to Isaiah to Hosea to the Apostles, and especially Christ.

The inquiry here, is at what point does the prophet have the right, as being called by God, to rebuke, even sternly, those who are unbelieving of heart?

I will not go into the fact that it happens, as that should be a given that it does indeed happen (look no further than Matthew 23 for one example).

So at what time should the prophet rebuke his hearers? It is a practical question. We also do not need to needle over what exactly it means to be a prophet, but a simple definition is that a prophet is someone who reminds God's people of His promises, both positive and negative. We do not need to say that a prophet tells the future or necessarily does so. Rather, a prophet is often a fiery individual. Jeremiah said,

Jeremiah 20:9
"I say, “I won’t mention him
or speak any longer in his name.”
But his message becomes a fire burning in my heart,
shut up in my bones.
I become tired of holding it in,
and I cannot prevail."

Such is the feeling of the prophet to have a "fire burning in the heart."

Where does this calling come from? And at what point can a prophet rebuke people?

Please show Biblical references if you can.

Thank you.
A prayerful review of the Book of Hebrews i believe is a good place to start as it speaks of the differences between the way of old and new.

Moses also spoke of a prophet coming after Him that was greater than Him ... Speaking of Jesus of course.

And on when to speak. Yes, when the Spirit moves us is a great place to start. We just need to remember that we are to speak the truth in love, then let the Holy Spirit work. Not everyone listened to Jesus and He didnt force them. Just do your part and let the Lord's Spirit work in others hearts as He sees fit.

Just before Sabbath: Hezbollah fires 150 rockets at northern Israel within one hour

Smoke billows from the site of an Israeli airstrike in the southern Lebanese village of Khiam near the border on September 19, 2024. Lebanon's Hezbollah has traded near-daily fire with Israeli forces in support of ally Hamas since the Palestinian militant group's October 7 attack triggered war in the Gaza Strip, with repeated escalations during more than 11 months of the cross-border violence.

This is a developing story.

The Lebanese terror group Hezbollah launched some 150 rockets in three barrages at northern Israel on Friday afternoon after Israeli airstrikes struck over 100 of its rocket launchers over the past 12 hours.

On Friday morning, the IDF reportedly continued pounding Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, while IDF Home Front Command instructed residents of northern Israel to stay near a shelter.

In the first barrage, shortly after 1 p.m., Hezbollah targeted the area of Safed, Mount Meron and the northern Golan Heights. Rocket impacts were reported in a playground near Safed and a barn in Kibbutz Ortal on the Golan Heights.

In the second barrage, around 70 rockets targeted the same area, with reports of an impact near Ein Zeitim.

A third wave of some 20 rockets targeted the area of Mount Meron.

I feel so angry often about most of the Insecurity preaching that I have received all my life.

On the other thing ...

I am fully secure in my salvation, but I won't deny that there are verses that seem to imply that one can lose their salvation.

I'm of the opinion from what i know of scripture that those of us that have truly come to salvation, by grace through faith, will be saved as He is committed to seeing us through, not because of our faithfulness, but because of his for He cannot deny Himself, or who He is.

There are also other scriptures that warn of certain behaviors and such, but then He says He's committed to seeing us through.

So I don't deny those scriptures, but i see them in light of what i intimately know of Him.

And fear just points back to us and makes us self-conscious. The law, fear, guilt and condemnation, self-consciousness are all intwined. We can't grow in Him that way. Only by looking to Him and getting that vision of Him by his Spirit through the finished work of Christ can we grow and move forward.

Did Jesus love the Pharisees?

Mt 12:

24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.”
This particular group of Pharisees accused Jesus of being the prince of demons.

34 You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil. 36 I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, 37 for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Jesus had some harsh words with this group of Pharisees.

Did Jesus love the Pharisees?

Yes, in general. Matthew 5:

44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Nicodemus was a Pharisee (Jn 3:1). He defended Jesus (Jn 7:50). He anointed Jesus' dead body (Jn 19:39).

Jesus dined with Pharisees (Luke 7:36)

Paul was a Pharisee. Jesus converted him and used him mightily.

Did Jesus love the Pharisees?

Yes, Jesus loved them enough to tell them the hard truth that they did not have the love of God in their hearts (Jn 5:42).
