  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Pr 24:21 and Granville Sharp’s Rule

Brenton Septuagint Translation, Pr 24:

Sharp's rule (originally formulated by Granville Sharp) states that in Greek, when two singular nouns of the same case are connected by καί ("and"), and the first noun has the definite article while the second does not, the two nouns refer to the same person or thing. This rule is often applied in New Testament studies, particularly in passages like Titus 2:13 and 2 Peter 1:1, where it is argued that the construction identifies Jesus as God.

Let's apply this rule to Pr 24:21, Swete's Septuagint:

First noun: τὸν θεόν (with article)
Second noun: βασιλέα (without article)
Connected by: καί

If we strictly follow Sharp's rule, God and King refer to the same person. However, αὐτῶν is plural and refers to two different people.

Let's see the Hebrew:

The definite article is nowhere. We have the tetragrammaton. LXX translated יהוה as τὸν θεόν.

Sharp's Rule needs to be applied with caution, as it may not always be applicable depending on the nuances of the Greek sentence structure and the specific context.
You're right - and in general when looking at NT quotations of TNK/OT texts it's important to check the Hebrew to interpret the full meaning and application in the NT. In this example the use of Gods personal name YHWH changes everything for the interpretation.

Similar examples are:

When Yeshua reads the scroll in the synagogue (Luke 4:16-19) from Isaiah 61:1-2:
The Spirit of the Lord (Adonai) YHWH is upon me, because YHWH has anointed me ..
That's a double reference to Gods personal name.

And e.g. the triumphal entry into Jerusalem when the crowd quotes Psalm 118:25-26:
.. blessed is he who comes in the name of YHWH ..

How would Abram be able to see the stars (Ge 15:5) if the sun had not gone down (v 12)?

Ge 15:

A few verses later:

Did the sun set already in v 5?

There was something funny about time in this chapter. Let's see the context at the beginning of the chapter:

Before the sun physically set, Abram had a vision.

That happened in the vision.

Abram saw the stars in the vision.

God made a promise to Abram in a vision. Now, Abram was out of the vision and into physical reality. The sun had not physically set yet.

The above happened in the physical environment. He physically handled the animals and waited.

His vision continued. He was back to the vision.

God made more promises to Abram in the vision.

Now, he was back to the physical reality with the animal carcasses:

Next came the summary. All of the above in this chapter happened in one day:

Verses 1–6: vision
7–11: physical environment
12–16: back to the vision
17: back to the physical environment

The chapter blended these two modes of divine communication, interlacing Abram's spiritual encounter with God and his tangible actions in response to God's promises.

If you know, you know...

When I first wrote this ballad poem, I never thought it would choke me up at the end every time, even on Christmas for the same reason here. I never mentioned one name in here: the names used were just aliases that only I knew for myself where the future me died and the angel brought me out of it all. I assume you read the story to the end you'll know the character in the white hoodie is Jesus himself, and the crown that the angel gave me.

When the reader realizes not all was lost in the first half of the story, they also realize that I only let one person fall in this poem and he was also the "first person's" future self...

I was in the back main isle at Walmart when this happened. It was almost Easter, and the seasonal isle was packed with Peeps and Cadbury eggs. I hung my head down and I felt a shadow approaching. So, I asked him “Are you John Henry Tholms?” He replied, “Are you Samson Todd Bessus?”. As he said this familiar name, I took out the camera in my pocket. However, a loud pop suddenly shook the store. As an undercover officer arrests another unknown person after he dropped his firearm; I turned around and realized who he was shooting at and desperately asked for help. He told me in his last dying breath “Anyone who wants to save their life will lose it.” — Suddenly a burst of light overpowered the soft lights of the ceiling, and a voice shouted down from it. “Reach for me quickly; the instance is about to expire” as I reached for the voice it was like an eagle grabbed my hand and pulled me upward. As I opened my eyes the flash vanished. All of a sudden, the smell of pumpkin spice filled the air and there was outdated Mary Janes in the seasonal section. — As I stood up a crowd gathered around me; “Where have you been!?” “What was that noise?” As I Tried to explain my situation a man in a bright white hoodie was walking around the arts and crafts department. As he lowered the hood a low flying jet flew over the store. I automatically recognized the face of this stranger and came over to give him a hug. — then an old middle eastern man came over and placed a large metal object on my head and I saw that there was a tattoo of an eagle on his forehead. I soon realized what the object on my head was. I told him “Thank you brother for saving me.” He smiled and said, “No friend, he is the one that saved you.” And then I looked at the man who I had been hugging earlier and all of the people who were there in the crowd were all now down on the floor, watching him…

Anxiety

I did not say to stay away from medication. But I have read a mental health article which says medication can not *cure* a personality trouble. It might affect symptoms but not actually cure the cause.

And I understand this is because our personalities are spiritual at their roots. And therefore a physical medicine can not reach and change what is spiritual.

But, I am aware there are people who say their medicine helps them. Others say no.

But God through Jesus works best. And I understand you might use a pain med while an injury is healing. The med does not cure the injury but it makes you more comfortable. So, I see it is possible to do things to help yourself while God is working deeper to cure our character.

I need personality correction; I pray for God to guide me what He wants me to do. Each of us is unique; so God can guide each of us differently. But all He does in our character is what works the best.
I have no idea how much medicine actually helps me. But it doesn't hurt to take it. My battles are tough but afterwards I have peace, joy, and love.

Flee from this sin in these last days

Politics are full of sin. Economic complaints, fears, strife and worry is not faith or obedience to the Lord. God is our helper not man. Do not love the things in this world as the apostle John said. You can't have love for God and love for the world at the same time. You can't serve two masters or two nations. Seek the kingdom not America

Praise report RE accommodation/help for struggling fiancée

hopingforheaven Thank You Jesus!

Please do both consider the link I posted in your prayer request thread, but regardless, you both have somewhere you can sleep safely. :)

Jesus please keep them both safe and grow their faith in You.

Re: USCC "Catholic Charities".....What We Said!

The author here came to the same conclusion we did, for good reason: it's the ONLY conclusion.

... The Catholic Church teaches that it is a mortal sin to facilitate a mortal sin. For example, if someone knowingly and willfully assists in facilitating an abortion by providing counseling, shelter, or driving the mother to an abortion clinic, the enabler is guilty of sin. The sin is even more egregious if the facilitator financially benefits. It is blood money.
Similar to the driver who committed a mortal sin by taking the expectant mother to an abortion clinic, the Church’s actions facilitating illegal immigration are committed with “full knowledge and deliberate consent.”
Making the matter even worse, the Church is accepting billions in what could reasonably be labeled blood money....

Did you write a polite letter to your Bishop about this?

Better yet: if you did so, what was his reply?

Should Church Officials Be Teaching Illegal Immigrants How to Avoid the Law?

Like all laws, immigration law is very succinct and specific. It defines the conditions under which a person can successfully enter and stay in America. By being very exact, it ensures that all people are treated fairly, which minimizes injustice.

With the coming crackdown on illegal immigrants, some Catholics are advising these individuals on ways to avoid deportation. The insinuation is that the law is unfair and can, therefore, be disregarded and resisted.

A More Open Resistance

Such activism favoring open immigration has long been practiced among the radical religious left.

However, many claim the threat of “mass” deportations calls for new tactics. By adding the word “mass” to ordinary deportation, the issue becomes supercharged and volatile. The calls for resistance are now more open and urgent.

Eternal and Natural Law: The Foundation of Morals and Law

Michael Sean Winters of the National Catholic Reporter, for example, is calling for a general mobilization of Church personnel at all levels to help in any way possible. While such appeals employ legal means, they aim at obstructing the enforcement of the law.

How can people live in sin and perform miracles at the same time?

I agree that could happen but the biggest religious sects or cults with strange doctrine rarely if ever have any kind of miracles. Of those cults or those with errant doctrine that do have manifestations, they seem to be small and die out when the founder goes. (The Way International might be one example) These are generally easy to identify.

The harder ones to identify are ones that might be within Pentecostal/Charismatic circles. Though some might be in this for the money, can they be used by God? Also, are some used of the devil? I suppose the answer is yes to both those questions but how is one to discern? Certainly not every rich preacher is just about money. I guess the telltale sign is to look at their fruit. Do they really have converts and are they winning and helping disciple the lost? If that is occurring and their doctrine is decent then I would think they are an asset to the body of Christ. Errant or false preachers can grow things too though. I guess then the reliance on the Holy Spirit is needed. I have gone to churches where I had a check in my spirit. Usually that can come when I hear flawed doctrine or just sense a strangeness to the service that alerts me.
"How is one to discern" is a good question.
The answer is to see the rest of their fruit !
Godly folks/groups are not stealing, lying, authorizing killing, committing adultery, or covetous.

Analytical Ability (not Education Level) is key to better identifying misinformation (and information).

Phys.org produces "churnalism". If you go to its home page, you'll notice it doesn't link to an "About" page, which is sloppy enough. It presents itself as being about hard science like physics and astronomy.
Some sites have their "About" link on the top of the page while others put it at the bottom. Phys.org does the latter:

With a global reach of over 10 million monthly readers and featuring dedicated websites for science (Phys.org), technology (Tech Xplore) and medical research (Medical Xpress), the Science X network is one of the largest online communities for science-minded people. Science X publishes over 200 quality articles every day, offering the most comprehensive coverage of sci-tech developments worldwide.
With only a modicum of reading comprehension, you can understand what's being said.
Apparently not.

NFL Star’s Heartwarming Gesture Reminds Us of Our Father’s Love

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown’s love shines on the football field, but God’s love is even clearer in the Holy Eucharist, where he is always present for us.

A.J. Brown is the star wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles. Brown tends to dominate games because of his physicality and speed. However, there is a story about his cleats that illustrates his love for his child, while also echoing the love of God for each one of us.

The story goes that he always felt bad when he had to go on road trips with the team because that meant he had to leave his young daughter. While he was away, she would often ask, “Where is daddy? When is he coming home?”

This prompted Brown to consider how he could show his love for his daughter in a special way while also giving her a chance to see him while he was gone. Due to her young age, she can’t fully grasp the game of football. And, seeing that all of the players on the same team wear identical uniforms and helmets, the only visible difference is the numbers on their jerseys, but these are hard to spot as the players are on the field.

So the football-playing father came up with an innovative idea to help his daughter find him on the field: In 2023, he began wearing bright-pink cleats, which stood out vividly against the green football field — making him easy to find, no matter where he was on the gridiron.

Nuns catechize and guide U.S. visitors to the Pope’s audience

ROME (CNS) — Smiles, laughter, prayer and strategizing abound at the Bishops’ Office for U.S. Visitors to the Vatican.

Just a few blocks from Rome’s famous Trevi Fountain, the visitors’ office is where hundreds of Americans — and not only — go on Tuesday afternoons to pick up their tickets for the pope’s weekly general audience on Wednesdays.

They are welcomed by the Mercy Sisters of Alma, Michigan, aided by U.S. priests and seminarians studying in Rome. The office is sponsored by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Pontifical North American College.

After requesting tickets online before beginning their journeys, the visitors pick up their tickets at the office in Rome and receive clear information on when to get to the Vatican for the audience and what to bring or not bring — metal water bottles and rolling suitcases topping the no-no list.

The sisters also explain that sitting near the central aisle in the audience hall or near any barricade in St. Peter’s Square will give guests the best chance to see Pope Francis up close.

And, at least at the visitors’ orientation Feb. 4, Mercy Sister Celeste Mary Poche spilled the beans about sitting or standing near a baby — always a pope magnet.

Most American teens ‘very motivated’ to know about Jesus: Barna

Although religious affiliation and church attendance are on the decline, more than half of American teenagers say they're “very motivated” to know more about Jesus, and just over 75% say they're at least “somewhat motivated” to learn about the centerpiece of Christianity, according to Barna Research.

Citing data from Barna’s Gen Z Vol. 3research, which also highlights an openness and curiosity about spiritual matters among teenagers and young adults, researchers noted that the findings represent an opportunity for Christian leaders to engage them.

“This generation tends to believe there’s something out there more powerful than them. Still, many remain hesitant to embrace religion or churchgoing,” researchers said. “Church leaders should recognize that teens’ openness to learning about Jesus represents a significant opportunity for meaningful engagement.”

Approaches to Sin

If the four year old hasn't done something wrong, that is analogous to saying no sin has occurred. Which, as I'd see it, renders this moot.

If we jump off a bridge, there are a lot of variables that are involved, how high is the bridge? Is the bridge over solid ground, or is it over water? Sure, there's a difference between if you jump off a bridge that's 20 feet off the ground over if you jump off a bridge that's 100 feet off the ground. It can be the difference between getting really badly hurt, or dying.

To that end, St. John reminds us that there is sin that is unto death, and there is sin that isn't. This is the basis for the idea of mortal sin vs. non-mortal (or venial) sin.

Not all Christian traditions/denominations talk about mortal/venial sin the same way. Both Catholicism and Lutheranism (to offer a relevant example here, as you mentioned you grew up Catholic, and I am a Lutheran) talk about mortal sin/venial sin. But we don't talk about it in exactly the same way; in the Lutheran tradition we do not typically categorize some sins as mortal and others as venial. We recognize, obviously, that certain sins are much more severe and horrendous than others--murder is far worse than lying on your work resume, for example--but in Lutheran thought mortal sin isn't so much what sin, as much as that it is sin left to fester and kill. All sin, without repentance, is mortal sin. As Christians when we sin we are to confess our sin, there is to be repentance; because the Christian lives only by the mercy of God. Without mercy, we die. When talking about Confession, Lutherans don't emphasize the need for a full recounting of all sins (because that's impossible), but obviously we should mention the ones we are aware of and which are truly severe--but we also need to always when coming into the presence of God confess that we are sinners, and be frank in our guilt and grief.

"Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against You
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done, and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved You with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of Your Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in Your will, and walk in Your ways,
to the glory of Your Name. Amen.
"

When we don't, when we let sin fester, it's like a wound that progressively gets more diseased and infected, and as the wound gets worse, it's a poison that starts to slowly kill us. Such can result in the total shipwrecking of our faith.

Going back to the bridge jumping analogy, while jumping off a hundred foot bridge to solid ground probably will kill me; even if I jump off a 30 or 40 foot bridge can ultimately kill me--if I injure myself, the injury is left untreated, perhaps there is internal bleeding, or there is a wound that becomes infected, and it becomes necrotic. Without medical intervention even a non-lethal injury can become a lethal one.

Now it is a perfectly reasonable thing to say, "Well, don't jump off a bridge at all then". The problem? We're all jumping off bridges, all the time. Sometimes the bridge is 20 feet up, sometimes the bridge is a 100 feet up. Sometimes we walk to the edge of the bridge, look down, yell "YOLO" and jump with both feet like madmen. Sometimes we walk to the edge of the bridge, and we are tempted to keep edging closer and closer to the edge, and before we know it, we've lost our footing and we are hurtling down to the ground. Sometimes we stumble off the bridge and, fortunately, there was an overhang so we didn't fall the full distance. Sometimes it seems like someone shoved us off the bridge after we decided to take a nice long look down. Yet, all the same, we get hurt, and sometimes it kills us out right, and sometimes it kills us slowly.

That's sin. We are constantly jumping off bridges, and it always hurts us--sometimes it kills us, sometimes it kills us slowly, but it always hurts us.

-CryptoLutheran
Nice, I like the bridge analogy, thanks

I believe I get what you're saying. Lots of what we do or don't do constitutes sin, much of which can be more harmful than perhaps first appears.

But again I think you might be missing my point. My point isn't really about the various forms of harm, deceptive or otherwise, we can do to ourselves by falling from various 'bridges' in various ways.

Harm can be done without us even sinning. For argument sake, let's call this non-sin harm, like honestly making a mistake and giving somebody the wrong medicine, or picking the lesser of two evils where harm has to happen, etc. I'm sure you can think of loads of examples.

The point I was trying to make, and what my examples point to, are considerations around circumstances, environment, capabilities, genes, mental health, etc. etc. which mean that we might approach combating sin in various ways.

Wouldn't it be the case that, just as with the four-year-old tearing up pages from your book that God also would look at an adult's misdeeds and judge whether it was reasonable to expect this particular adult in these particular circumstances to do any different? God therefore in certain situations deciphers that, what you might refer to as harm from sin isn't really so but actually is non-sin harm given the unique circumstances. Just like not expecting the nephew to be able to understand enough so as that sin does not enter the picture and any harm from the action is actually non-sin harm.

For instance God might expect a father who is an alcoholic to take another route home from work so as not to pass the pub and so as not risk harm to himself and family through his alcoholism. If this father sticks with the same route knowingly and puts his family in unnecessary risk then this is sinning, as God sees that this man is quite capable of changing route despite inconvenience or temptations to wander towards the pub after work. Let's say that, that kind of request is pretty much realistically within his ability to fulfill.

However, when the same father is on a camping holiday with friends and in the evening everyone starts drinking around the campfire, someone waves a shot of vodka under his nose and the whole thing is too much for this alcoholic to resist and he takes the shot and drinks the night away - perhaps God would acknowledge that this alcoholic has no chance of resisting in such a situation and circumstances and therefore would identify the harm as non-sin harm.

Lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a "great multitude" with swords and staves...

Peace in Christ.

We are members of Christ’s body…of His flesh and of His bones. Our mortal bodies are the members of Christ.

Eph 5:30 KJV
(30) For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
(31) For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
(32) This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

We are not to take our mortal bodies....the members of Christ...and make them members of a harlot (a church body of people who are centered around preaching things...their handwritings of ordinances/dogmas for money's sake). We then become ONE FLESH with them in their troubles and destruction.

1Co 6:15-20 KJV
(15) Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
(16) What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
(17) But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

This is the true "fornication" we must flee from. We sin against our own mortal body when we go to their "churches" as we become "one flesh" with them in their destruction as the wrath of God comes upon the children of disobedience.

(18) Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
(19) What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

(20) For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

We must come out from among them and be SEPARATE....no longer being "one" with them. This is the will of God...even our SANCTIFICATION...that we abstain from "fornication"...sitting together with them.... being one body with them.

1Th 4:2-4 KJV
(2) For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
(3) For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

(4) That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

By keeping the “daily” sacrifice of our Lord (always bearing about the dying of the Lord Jesus in our mortal body), then the life of Him shall also be made manifest (SHINE) in our mortal body.

2Co 4:10-11 KJV
(10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

(11) For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

This manifestation of His life in our mortal flesh is the revealing of the “Son of man” to the world.

But, the “Son of man”…that manifestation of His life in the mortal flesh…is currently being cutoff from appearing in this world.

The Son of man “goes”….that is, withdraws as if sinking out of sight.

Mat 26:24-25 KJV
(24) The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

Many are following in the footsteps of Judas. They are the ones “speaking” …aka preaching…to us.

(25) Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

Because of this no flesh…no mortal flesh…is being saved….and deep spiritual darkness is upon this earth as His people are not shining His light to the world as they themselves are in darkness.

We…His people…are the “heavens” that have no light of Christ shining to this dark world as His life is not being made manifest in our mortal flesh so that the people of the outside world may see.

The “earth”…the people on the outside…then are in deep darkness because of this situation.

The earth is without form….without the form of His righteousness….and void…void of the knowledge of the glory of God as His people do not have the light. They cannot see the form of Christ as the light of Christ is not shining to them. They are void of the knowledge of the glory of God .

Jer 4:22-23
(22) For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

(23) I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was (became) without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

The manifestation of the life of Jesus in our mortal flesh (the revealing of the Son of man) is currently being betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Mat 26:45-50 KJV
(45) Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

That is why we must “ARISE” from them who are dead in their trespasses and sins as they are at hand in our churches. We must arise and be going out from among them. Let us free from "fornication"...being ONE with them in the body. That is our sanctification.

(46) Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

For a “GREAT MULITUDE” is following in the footsteps of Judas. They come with “swords”…causing divisions among us. They come with “staves”…their “timber”…their dead stock of the church handwritings of ordinances to rule us with.

(47) And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

They come to take away the life of Jesus from being made manifest in our mortal flesh with a feigned kiss. They flatter us with their feigned, great swelling words of emptiness.

(48) Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.

They come as friends and want us to REJOICE with them. “Hail” = rejoice.

(49) And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
(50) And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

They do not come to us with a “holy kiss” but with a feigned kiss: with good words and fair speeches.

Rom 16:16-18 KJV
(16) Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you.

They come with “swords”….causing divisions. They come with their handwritings of ordinances (their "staves") rather then the doctrine of Christ.

(17) Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
(18) For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

They do not preach that Jesus Christ IS COMING NOW in the flesh….in our mortal flesh. This is glaringly absent in their preaching to us. They are not preaching that His life is to be made manifest in our mortal flesh….and so is His glory to be also….so that the outside world sitting in deep darkness may see His glory light shine from us.

They are preaching “another jesus” with another spirit…..the spirit/breath of the antichrist (instead of the true Christ.) Their “jesus” delays his coming and is not coming now in our mortal flesh (according to their “understanding.”) They are the host of the prince that SHALL COME rather than the Prince of Life who IS COMING NOW in our mortal flesh. They are deceivers and the "jesus" that they are preaching is from the spirit of the antichrist and not of the true Christ.

2Jn 1:7-11 KJV
(7) For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
(8) Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

(9) Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

They come and want us to rejoice with them (“hail, master”). Let us not receive them into our house.

Neither bid them “God speed”…that is, to REJOICE. This is what Judas did when he came to take Jesus away to be crucified.

(10) If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed (REJOICE):

(11) For he that biddeth him God speed (REJOICE) is partaker of his evil deeds.

We must come forth from the “waters of Judah/Judas”….from the multitudes who are following in the footsteps of Judas. They call themselves of the holy city and stay themselves upon the God of Israel. They make mention of Him but not in truth nor in righteousness.

Isa 48:1-2 KJV
(1) Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.

(2) For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name.

We must “arise” and leave them so that the life of Jesus can be made manifest (the revealing of the Son of man.)

The coming…that is, the PRESENCE…of the Son of man SHINES as lightning coming out of the east (the rising of light in our hearts) and shines unto the “west”…the area where the sun had set.

Those who are in deep darkness (the “west”) shall then see His light shining in us. We shall then shine as the sun in the kingdom/government of the Father.

Mat 24:24-27 KJV
(24) For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
(25) Behold, I have told you before.
(26) Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

(27) For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
