At least he doesn't preach a flat earth cosmology
Now, can you provide a verse that is similarly clear about the shape of the earth? Not a verse like the Isaiah verse you often quote, which says that the earth has a circle or circuit, but a verse that says clearly that the earth is such-and-such a shape?
Jesus is a perfect example of telling the truth and silencing those arrayed against Him......with scriptural truths.
Here is the list of other members, visitors, or posters, whatever,No one is claiming they have all the answers.
I have yet to see you post something positive and helpful.
I would like to contribute to your thread. First let me thank you for your threads. For me, they're therapeutic.God is love and for love to be love, it must be freely given, else what is it? A display of the power of the Almighty? God does not need to display His power. He knows it unto Himself and does not require His creation
Double predestination delays his power. Love with free will displays His Glory, of which we will sing for eternity
I have a heart for my Calvinists friends, but I could no longer join them in their theology
I would be interested which points of Catholic theolgy with which you disagree
Unlike Trump, Clinton never raped anyone.Because no charges were filed. Same reason why Clinton is not in jail for multiple counts of rape and assault.
What system is that? Trump was promoting mail-in until Putin told him otherwise.It also seems a tad suspicious that they'd object to a system that makes it harder to rig an election.
You mean a system that takes much longer to count, and is far more prone to human error? Why would anyone have a problem with that??It also seems a tad suspicious that they'd object to a system that makes it harder to rig an election.
Indeed; the Lord does nothing without revealing His plans to His servants the Prophets. Amos 3:7God is Who has all the answers - no one else.
If by spiritual growth we mean to grow to become and to love like Jesus . . . this will affect our emotions. And yes it is emotionally intelligent to live only in Jesus love and the emotions of Jesus in us.Does spiritual growth increase emotional intelligence?
People usually don't like things that conflict with existing tradition or established theology. Erasmus was challenged and then tricked into including the Johannine Comma later on when someone tabled a manuscript that had those verses. But he was absolutely right in his opinion this was not part of what John originally wrote. Compare St Augustine writings and see how the interpolation in 1 John 5 interrupt the natural flow of the surrounding verses, observe how the interpolation is missing from any pre-Nicean quotations - and it's easy to see Erasmus was correct in his assessment as this being non-authentic.Hi, and appreciate your reply! True, and appreciate the correction. Erasmus produced the first printed edition of the Greek New Testament. He also included in his text "the Codex Montfortianus (Greek early 16th cent.), which he named the Codex Britannicus" (-AI Google). This was used in later editions that contained the Johannine Comma (1 John 5:7-8); though he doubted the originality of this manuscript, other scholars encouraged him to include it.
The Eclectic Text (also known as the Critical Text or Minority Text or Alexzandrian Text) was available to Erasmus but he did not refer to them (Vaticanus, Sinaitcus, Alexandrinus). "Erasmus did not use an eclectic text in the modern sense when preparing his Textus Receptus. While he did consult multiple Greek manuscripts, his primary focus was on producing a Greek text that aligned with the existing Latin Vulgate, rather than constructing a text based on a comprehensive comparison and evaluation of diverse textual witnesses."-AI Google
"Early editions of the Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament were indeed initially based on the text of Westcott and Hort. Specifically, the first two editions of Nestle's text used Westcott and Hort's work, along with Tischendorf's, as a foundation. Later editions incorporated the work of other scholars like Bernhard Weiss. While the Nestle-Aland text has evolved and incorporated new manuscript discoveries over time, the influence of Westcott and Hort remains significant, and many modern translations still rely on the Nestle-Aland/UBS text, which has roots in Westcott and Hort's work.” –AI Google
And they're free to do so. Not sure how that counts as propaganda, though.Great propaganda - Soros, Bezos etc would disagree
Except allowing more babies to be born today is in itself contrary to "intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group".That is just one of five acts that can be used in commiting genocide, it isn't a required act.
Article II of the 1948 UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide
In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:
- Killing members of the group;
- Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
- Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
- Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
- Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.
Any one of the above acts is sufficient to constitute genocide if the act is committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group. Even if more babies are being born in Gaza today than before the conflict, Israel could still be guilty of genocide if it can be shown that their actions have been done with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, the Palestinian people in Gaza.
I just find it interesting that there is all this fixation of trying to find something, anything, against Isreal when for years we have had clear and definite genocide all around the world and never such a fixation with these other nations.According to the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, Israel can still be found guilty of Genoceide against the Palestinian people, despite the living conditions and privileges they may enjoy inside Israel.
The UN has lost all credibility. It sits there silent on all the nations who are actually committing genocide and has the hide to then allow those same nations to make accusations against Isreal over and over again. Never once brings any charges against these genocidal nations."Genocide can also be committed against only a part of the group, as long as that part is identifiable (including within a geographically limited area) and “substantial.”
I assume many of our ancestors remains are long gone due to time and decomposition.Do you mean where did I hear that from?
From here.
As I understand it, they say mtdnaEve, which stands for "mitochondrial DNA Eve," is the oldest known human female.
Her counterpart is y-Adam, who is our oldest known male.
They didn't really know each other.
From AI Overview:
According to recent genetic studies, mitochondrial Eve and Y-chromosomal Adam lived around the same time, with their estimated dates overlapping. Specifically, Y-chromosomal Adam is estimated to have lived between 120,000 and 156,000 years ago, while mitochondrial Eve is estimated to have lived between 99,000 and 148,000 years ago, according to a study published in Nature. This suggests that the two most recent common ancestors for all humans (one for the Y chromosome and one for mitochondrial DNA) lived during a similar period, rather than being separated by a large gap in time as previously thought.
Prior to these studies, estimates for Y-chromosomal Adam's age were significantly lower than those for mitochondrial Eve, leading to the idea that they lived far apart in time. However, more recent research, using improved methods for analyzing Y chromosome and mitochondrial DNA variations, has narrowed the gap in their estimated ages.
Why, thank youJust to let you know, I think of you more as a 48th cousin![]()
For a lack of a better word, most Pentecostal Churches recognize each other with the exception of the Oneness Pentecostals?Pretty much yes
Oneness is an anomaly
Pretty much yesEssentially, all Assembly of God Christians are Pentecostal, but not all Pentecostal Christians are A of G.
I know there are many Pentecostal denominations that are historically African American, such as the Church of God in Christ.
I don’t know if they recognize being in communion with one another, since SOME Pentecostal denominations, such as the United Pentecostal Church, reject the Holy Trinity.
Is my understanding correct?
