  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Revealed: Gun-toting transgender woman who has become the face of the 'Day of Vengeance' organized by trans activists after Nashville massacre is…

I'll be back in about half an hour or so.....I need to run down to the hardware store and pick up another 5,000 rounds of ammunition.

.223, mostly, since that's what you really go through. I have enough .40 caliber, 9mm, and 30.06 to last me for quite a while, as well as numerous boxes of .22 LR and 20-gauge shotgun shells.

"Be Prepared": Boy Scout motto.
Get your oil ready. Jesus is coming back soon.

These people need serious help. The mainstream media needs to stop walking on eggshells and live in reality. Men cannot become women or vice versa. That’s a biological fact.

Morality without Absolute Morality

Well, lots of things can help.
. . . with God using things to help us. He is the reliable One who knows.
But if absolute morality exists and we have no way of determining it,
We have God, and Jesus is our way to God and to His benefits of His morality.
other than making the decision ourselves (which makes it relative morality) then the concept is nonsensical.
And I did not say we make decisions "ourselves" . . . if I remember correctly. If it were up to us, then it would be relative.

Revealed: Gun-toting transgender woman who has become the face of the 'Day of Vengeance' organized by trans activists after Nashville massacre is…

…'former SOLDIER who's also an Antifa member

Kayla Denker, who has become one of the most recognizable faces of militant transgender activists, is now believed to be a former soldier
Shortly after the Nashville school shooting, which was carried out by a transgender attacker, Denker posted a TikTok of herself loading an assault rifle
Denker's video comes as trans activists are preparing to gather on April 1 for a 'Day of Vengeance' - planned before the shooting, but continuing regardless

A militant transgender activist who has quickly become one of the most high-profile 'faces' of the radical movement is a former soldier and Antifa member, it has been claimed.

Kayla Denker, who runs a YouTube site with videos dedicated to explaining Marxism and guns, posted a video of herself with an assault rifle after the Nashville school shooting.

The Nashville attacker, Audrey Hale, 28, was described by police as transgender, and online appeared to reference herself as 'Aiden' - although the authorities are still referring to Hale as a woman.

Hale's murder of three nine-year-olds and three staff members at a Christian school she attended - and may have resented, according to police - has sparked intense debate among the transgender community.

While the vast majority condemned the attack, fringe groups and extremists said the shooting was in part a consequence of the oppression of trans people.

Denker, based in Colorado, and believed to be a former soldier, was among those who immediately posted a highly provocative video online, showing herself brandishing an assault rifle.

Continued below.

Trump DOJ is looking at ways to ban transgender Americans from owning guns, sources say

They can’t do this, it’s wrong. Trans people have a right to defend themselves and doing this on the basis of transgender people having a mental disorder opens the door to taking away gun rights from people who take antidepressants, people with PTSD and any number of things they could require doctors and psychiatrists to report.

Does reality pass the Turing test?

Has humanity evolved to be swayed by the charismatic? Like anomalous deviations from the norm in a chaotic system? In which case it would seem like humanity's actions are an effect caused by something outside of its control, and that humanity isn't the actual cause of those actions. Which harkens back to @Modern Day Job's post at the beginning of this thread, or @AV1611VET's analogy of a puppetmaster. Neither of which would seem to be in keeping with humanity as a collection of free agents, but more in keeping with the idea of humanity as a simulation. Having a semblance of autonomy, but no real control?
It's just typical herding behavior. What would you expect to see if it isn't a simulation?

Are infants guilty because of Adam's sin?

You seem to contradict yourself here. You say that spiritual life is reality, but then you say "Paul thought he was spiritually alive" - this is how you are interpreting 7:9 - "Paul thought..." is not literally alive. Therefore, your interpretation of the text "I was alive" is not literal.
Both physical death and spiritual death are literal realities.
Pauls' statement regarding his spiritual death was a literal statement, not a metaphorical statement referring to something else..
Again, my previous response completely refutes your idea here, but you continue to assert the same idea. I think I'm done with this conversation.
Your previous response (post #36) does not refute the idea in my post #38, following:

I. Death is the wages of sin (Ro 6:23),
sin is trangression of the law (1 Jn 3:4),
where there is no law, there is no transgresion/sin (Ro 4:15)
and, therefore no death.

There was no law between Adam and Moses and, therefore, no transgression/sin to cause their deaths.
Then what caused the deaths of all those between Adam and Moses, including infants, when they did not sin against the law?
Their deaths, including of infants, were caused by the imputed sin of Adam (Ro 5:17, 18-19) to all mankind when there was no law to transgress and cause death.

as well as:

II. Ro 5:17
states, ". . .by the trespass of one man, death reigned through that one man,"

Ro 5:18-19 - "the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men. . .through the disobedience of one man, the many were made sinners.

The many were made sinners
by God charging/accounting/imputing Adam's sin to them (Ro 5:17, above).

War has way of devaluing fiat currencies; and fiat currencies have a life cycle. The life cycle of the US dollar is nearing its' end.

Charlie Kirk on Mary

Charlie Kirk's pastor spoke at the ceremony, he is the pastor of Godspeak Calvary Chapel which is an Evangelical church. However, he seemed to be leaning toward Catholic beliefs after studying the history of Christianity, realizing what was lost by not venerating Mary and showing great respect for Apostolic tradition.
I wonder if he would have converted?

The Eucharist in the Early Church

My friend, I think you understandably got that one wrong. A previous poll had indicated most did not believe, a recent poll said 69% did believe.

Ah, well that’s good. But still, in the case of the Vetus Ordo you’re talking about a figure much closer to 100%, which is why I really strongly believe the RCC should just translate it into the vernacular and allow it to be celebrated in either Latin or the vernacular, along with various other traditional Western liturgies which should also be made more widely available. The Novus Ordo isn’t a bad liturgy, its just … the wording of the older one is so much more florid and poetic, its like the Byzantine Rite (which paradoxically was de-Latinized, particularly in the US, post Vatican II; St. Elias Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church conducts their services in the luxuriant style of the Sabaite-Studite typikon).

Trump: “I want to try and get to heaven, if possible,”

I am not sure someone who dozens of notable psychiatrists believe has malignant narcissism can acknowledge a power higher than himself.
His relationships have been described by experts as completely transactional.
He is described as being shunned by dogs--the best judges of character.
The Bible tells us what happened to Lucifer when he put himself ahead of God.
If the psychiatrists are correct, does God accept an insanity defense?
Some people should hope so

Is AI making the human race dumber?

Last week, I listened as some coworkers turned to AI to calculate the yards of concrete required to pour a slab. Now, this isn't hard. They recognized that to convert the volume in cubic feet to cubic yards meant dividing it by 27 but apparently it was the slab height in inches that threw them off. Obviously, you divide the depth in inches by 12 and multiply the result by the length and width in feet, then divide by 27 to get cubic yards, then round up and add a little more to make sure you have enough for the job (ground not precisely leveled and packed - stuff happens). But they thought they had to ask an AI.

In my mind, that’s a misuse of AI.

In my mind that's an egregious misuse of their brains.
