  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

scandinavians are different. when we say equal, we truly mean equal. everyone have the same, you do not see classes, or rich trying to stick out they get told off, everyone have similar status, you get treated well as poor, free hospitals and daycare, good social services, free right to roam in nature, no roles regarding the relationships and no dominance meaning we treat each other with mutual respect, sharing and partnership, as a an adult, (for christians even there it is not devoid of that) ,everyone can voice their opinions as they wish as long as respectful and women are strong minded, voice opinions freely and it is seen just as normal as for others, we are big humanitarians and help many coming to the country, we take care of the elderly sick and those that can`t work, we do not discriminate, we do not have much racial issues, we do not have much criminality, (if there is it is first now) and so forth. and we get along well.
So the government owns everything? It does not seem so you still have rich and poor.

Charlie Kirk shooting suspect Tyler Robinson could face firing squad

Unless Charlie Kirk is a public official, Tyler doesn't qualify under Utah State law.
They're saying they're going to charge him federally. Plus Utah can impose the death penalty for "The murder being "especially heinous, atrocious, cruel, or exceptionally depraved."

Trump says suspect in custody in killing of Charlie Kirk

I had no problem with him airing his views. It was nice to get them out into the sunshine so we could all see what they were.
Well unfortunately, there are many in your camp who think otherwise to include his assassin, all those who celebrated the assassination, and are currently on BlueSky making death lists. All we need for the country to begin healing is for the left to acknowledge the part they have played lest CNN reports a "bloody but mostly peaceful assassination."

Man tossed bomb into California courthouse, injuring six, authorities say. “Liberty or death”

And then when we've done that we can look at things that are specifically designed and made to kill people and do something similar.

What do you think?
Like bombs and hunting knives?

Charlie Kirk Didn’t Shy Away From Who He Was. We Shouldn’t, Either

But it is difficult to square this idealized portrait of Kirk as model citizen with the man as he was.
Kirk’s eulogists have praised him for his commitment to discourse, dialogue and good-faith discussion. Few if any of them have seen fit to mention the fact that Kirk’s first act on the national stage was to create a McCarthyite watchlist of college and university professors, lecturers and academics. Kirk urged visitors to the website to report those who “discriminate against conservative students and advance leftist propaganda in the classroom.”
What’s wrong with that? If your professor attempts to censor you in a place of free thought then something needs to be done to stop them. He stood up for what’s right, why would you attempt to criticize that? And if you do, why would you do it 4 days after it happened? Your post has made me realize that we have a problem with respecting the dead, and I might be the same. But shouldn’t silence be there until the mourners have had time to heal before we start criticizing people? Even if none see it, why don’t we respect the man by not going after him. This behavior is not fitting for Christians, and I’m glad I’ve realized this, through this post. I’m not better than you, so let’s both work to be better.

I would also like to add this question, is this the way we love our fallen brothers in the faith? Charlie was a Christian, and I hope he’s in heaven now, but regardless, is this how we honor God’s servants?

The migrant issue has set this back irreparably. I don’t think you’ll see that spirit for many generations. The more immigration we have the less likely you’ll have unity. But that’s just the tipping point. We’re moving in the direction of increasing separatism and acceptance of narrower connections. Some will form along racial lines, financial or religious and it’s already underway. Europe is up in arms and we’re not better off.

The stranger that I mentioned in my post is what Paul posted in Ephesians 2. I was not referring to migrants but to those that are new in Christ and need the help of the church to complete their faith.

“for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household,”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭18‬-‭19‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

Many churches this days do not welcome the stranger because, like someone posted in another thread, we don’t know where the church is not which in my opinion is nonsensical. My point is that the church is ALL believers that profess their faith in Christ so all churches should welcome the body if Christ whether one is a member of their church or not. The country club church mentality must be eliminated.
You can make things work when the common denominators overshadow the places you disagree. But we are less alike than ever. Name a subject and you’ll get an argument pretty fast. The divide is evident and I don’t know if it can be repaired. The internet has allowed people to stop fighting for that and seek the company of likeminded people. They don’t have to wrestle with differences anymore or tolerate them either. You can form your own community and ignore the rest.

And that happens all the time in this space. We have the technology to talk, meet and exchange ideas and the world would never know. I see more of that in the future than otherwise. The arguments run their course and after a while you just want peace.

So where does that leave christians?

~bella
Not sure where that leaves Christians. I know that Christianity always rebounds and maybe this is just the times that we live in and something else will come in the future which is my hope.

I love deep thinking especially God/end times/bible/do something for God anyone that can think deep or INFJ introvert etc here?

But then we come in on the problem of little talk about repentance and sin generally. And how it leaves a void, makes room for all the negative things and sins. I think that is why we see more of it. More self, more materialism etc. as well there is rejection and not wanting to talk about spiritual warfare and the fact we are in it, wether we want to or not, and the whole supernatural. which the exorcist Fr Rippberger said majority of church rejects or do not want to hear about and continues christianity is by large supernatural and spiritual warfare. and the occultists that put hours on prayers while the church not even ten minutes. I am describing why we have a problem. we can do it.

To the left or right of the cross is a thief ... it is a way of viewing the whole ...

School Teachers, Nurses, Government Workers, CELEBRATING Charlie Kirk's murder

[Gestures arms out as broadly as the internet can go]
How do you like them apples?

There are pockets of useful discourse that do great things. It's not a blanket sentiment.
So tell me, if I were to hypothetically tell you that I thought your ideas were awful and that debating it would be a setback to society. Not saying I am, just a hypothetical question. How would you respond?

in scandinavia, men and women share the household burden on equal fotting you see men clean, shop take care of children in regards of picking up playtime etc. we do not differ as in it is a task that needs to be done and as partners, so to speak, we share. it is how it is done in scandi.

Im bad with names

Is that SERIOUSLY thr worst thing someone being labeled ad a martyr could have said about them? That their words mattered to people? As much as some liked his words, others were hurt and ostracized.

there is still no concrete report as to this guys leanings. So we don't know Anyhring solid yet.
Maybe universities should teach the old parable, "Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words will never hurt me." How much do you think Charlie Kirk felt hurt and ostracized because someone in the audience was calling him names? But this brings us to the crux of the matter, the radical left knows that baseless and emotional charged insults dont have the same effect on conservatives. They cant hurt our feelings, so they resort to physical harm.

short said, what we mean with equal is not what other countries might consider the issue or problem for example if you say equal in america people probably scream but that is not what we mean about it. it means shortly treat everyone with respect dignity and care

Trump says suspect in custody in killing of Charlie Kirk

The one Christian trans person I know was disowned by her parents when she transitioned.

You’re having trouble grasping it because you’re assuming everything he did was sincere and not part of a performance. His public persona, his “debates” and dunking on people, his propagandizing were all part of a schtick. His whole public persona was built around a facade of “speech” and exchange of ideas.

I’d add that there’s a phenomenon prevalent on the right (maybe on both sides, who knows) of saying terrible stuff about people on the left with a straight face and without really thinking about the magnitude of what those words mean. The result is a disconnect between the message conveyed by a person’s words and what’s conveyed by their (relatively more pleasant) demeanor.
It was sincere. I've heard from so many people that what he said he believed in and he was no phoney. People genuinely loved him as a person. There was no facade.

He did enjoy debating people and trying get them to change their minds or at least to really think.about what rhey believed in and if it was correct or not.

He didn't hate nor did he express hate. It was accusations of hatred from the left that contributed to his death. He just spoke truth when the truth isn't popular.

GOP, Democratic leaders react to Charlie Kirk shooting

Nick Fuentes, a far-right American and white supremacist, has now broken silence and has responded to the allegations, denying any direct connection while defending his followers. Journalist and former MSNBC anchor David Shuster on Friday claimed that Robinson reportedly admired Fuentes.

After Charlie Kirk shooting, Tyler Robinson’s alt-right links to Nick Fuentes spark outrage, activist breaks silence

The statement drew significant attention on the internet not only because of its tone but also since Fuentes has long been one of Kirk’s fiercest critics. Their feud dates back to the 2019 “Groyper Wars,” when Fuentes’ supporters disrupted Turning Point USA events, accusing Kirk of being too moderate on immigration and LGBTQ rights.

Kirk, who maintained close ties to Donald Trump, was often labeled by Fuentes’ followers as a “gatekeeper” of establishment conservatism, according to Newsweek.

In the days since Kirk’s death, the revival of that rivalry has fueled speculation online about motives, though investigators stress that the suspect, Tyler Robinson, acted alone and no wider conspiracy has been identified.

Denials aside, Groyper slogans were engraved on the shell casings used by the shooter. It looks as though the movement is turning on itself. Other than his well-documented dislike of Kirk, there is presently no evidence to show that Fuentes was personally involved in the killing. In fact, he seems concerned that his followers might again become violent, warning them to stand down.
So far off track. Do you actually believe this stuff, or simply wanting others to believe it? Or both?
They are currently talking to his transgender partner to get more information.

I`m like, how can we help them if we don`t try to help or teach or have a dialogue But now I am not english either but from a humanitarian country where everyone really are equal.
Equal in what? Rights?
we do not have the split we see in the US in my country of origin. neither the same split racially or faith based. just saying, not to critisise. I do agree that anyone who it is no matter what if they talk about murder there is the limit. Where i am coming from is more like we can do a lot to change their minds or help them, as we do not know the deeper reasoning. trying to create positive change in their lives and society.
You are going along with the system of equality?
