  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Trump says suspect in custody in killing of Charlie Kirk

Why would I even need to? It's a nonsensical position to suggest that there aren't Christians who are transgender. Or those on the political right.
Okay maybe I'm out of touch. I don't follow popular culture very closely. Name some right-wingers who identify as trans. I'm sure they'd be quite famous because the media loves such incongruous combinations. I'm sure they've appeared on every talk show that I don't watch.

School Teachers, Nurses, Government Workers, CELEBRATING Charlie Kirk's murder

His death provides a convenient distraction from the GOP's refusal to release the Epstein files. Kirk wanted them released, after all.
If there was a ‘smoking gun’ on Epstein, why didn’t the Dems, who controlled the ‘files’ for four years, and had [former Attorney General Merrick] Garland and [ex-prosecutor Maureen] Comey in charge, use it,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

MS-13 Gang Member Kilmar Abrego Garcia to be Deported to African Country of Eswatini

Incarceration? Where were these calls during the previous administration?
So you do think it should be incarceration. You can't complain about a previous administration not doing it and then say it's OK for you not to do it as well.

You do recognise that, don't you? You do recognise that using that line of (ahem) argument is like putting a bullet in your own foot?

Bondi told you that it was definite. She actually didn't use the term 'allegedly'. You'd think a person in her position would know that she had to. But she was was so certain she skipped it.
It was an allegation.
Yes. It's what Bondi should have made against the guy. But she didn't. She claimed that he had comitted the crimes. She didn't allege them. If she wasn't lying then she let him off those crimes.
It was an allegation.
Are other illegal immigrants also going to be left off theirs? That'll be their defence lawyer's case. Do it for one and you have to do it for others.
Wrong.

He wasn't let off. His cases never made it to court; so there is no case law precedence to support your claim.

I think there was a compromise made in which it was better to send the wife beating gangster as far away as possible and not risk a politicized kangaroo court letting him off the hook. Cases get settled out of court all the time.
There was no case to settle. You have to charge someone before you make a compromise. And it wasn't domestic violence which was the alleged crime. It was being a terrorist and people smuggling. Bondi told you he did it. Now he's been let off. Not even charged. I guess she was lying, because surely as a defender of the GOP position on being strong on crimeshe would want to come down on him like a ton of bricks. As opposed to a free flight.

And kangaroo court? How desperate was that!

Hey, he didn't debate privately. It was generally in a public situation, advertised and often broadcast. You do know that one of the terms used to describe him was as an 'influencer'? It's kinda difficult to influence people if you don't advertise your views. Don't you think?
Charlie wasn’t trying to “stick it to “ anyone. He was sincerely trying to make a positive difference in this country. Your characterization is still off base.

Well...debates are usually held in public for a reason. Want to take a guess as to what that reason is?

Poor analysis of Charlie’s motives and goals.

Maybe you haven't seen some of his 'debates'. If he got to debate someone reasonably intelligent who could string a sentence together then it was readily apparent that he was a very poor debater. In fact, he rarely 'debated'. He wasn't keen on listening to other views and generally repeated his standard claims ad nauseam and was quite disdainful to anyone who disagreed.

I quite like listening to a good debate, especially if one person is in opposition to my personal views but does it really well. Watching Kirk was a depressing experience. On more than one level.
Would you agree that is a good thing for there be an opportunity for flaws in Charlie Kirk's arguments to be exposed through civil discourse?

I've never seen a "pride" flag with a cross on it.

GOP, Democratic leaders react to Charlie Kirk shooting

Ironically, he was hated by people even more extremely right-wing than he was. And now it appears that one of them killed him.
More untruth....
Nick Fuentes, a far-right American and white supremacist, has now broken silence and has responded to the allegations, denying any direct connection while defending his followers. Journalist and former MSNBC anchor David Shuster on Friday claimed that Robinson reportedly admired Fuentes.

After Charlie Kirk shooting, Tyler Robinson’s alt-right links to Nick Fuentes spark outrage, activist breaks silence

The statement drew significant attention on the internet not only because of its tone but also since Fuentes has long been one of Kirk’s fiercest critics. Their feud dates back to the 2019 “Groyper Wars,” when Fuentes’ supporters disrupted Turning Point USA events, accusing Kirk of being too moderate on immigration and LGBTQ rights.

Kirk, who maintained close ties to Donald Trump, was often labeled by Fuentes’ followers as a “gatekeeper” of establishment conservatism, according to Newsweek.

In the days since Kirk’s death, the revival of that rivalry has fueled speculation online about motives, though investigators stress that the suspect, Tyler Robinson, acted alone and no wider conspiracy has been identified.

Denials aside, Groyper slogans were engraved on the shell casings used by the shooter. It looks as though the movement is turning on itself. Other than his well-documented dislike of Kirk, there is presently no evidence to show that Fuentes was personally involved in the killing. In fact, he seems concerned that his followers might again become violent, warning them to stand down.

School Teachers, Nurses, Government Workers, CELEBRATING Charlie Kirk's murder

I think it's profoundly strange that anyone would ever think that "awful ideas" DESERVE the right to be debated just because they exist. It's the kind of thing that drags society backward.
I just wanted to come back to this because I overlooked it. But I don't think you understand the gravity of what you just said. Do you really and truly think that the intellectual freedom to present one's ideas in a public forum in which opponents have the opportunity to challenge those ideas through civil discourse "drags society backwards?" I just want to make sure I am understanding you correctly.

Trump Orders Flags to Half-Staff for Charlie Kirk

There's a difference between mourning a man's death, and canonizing him through political and religious hagiography. Not everybody that dies an untimely death for a cause is automatically virtuous or holy.

To advertise his views, of course. To show people who supported his views how he could stick it to the opposition. Did I really need to point that out?

He was demonstrating what used to be common place at college universities when they actually cared about open discussion and a free exchange of thought. If you feel that he was only trying to "stick it to the opposition," it was because his opponents positions were so flawed.
Maybe you haven't seen some of his 'debates'. If he got to debate someone reasonably intelligent who could string a sentence together then it was readily apparent that he was a very poor debater. He went to the jungle and did ayahuasca. He said he had supernatural experiences where he was one with the all and his brain expanded. his consciousness. I have been in the new age and know how dangerous it is. For those that want to know more I recommend Constance Combey the hidden dangers of the rainbow. it explains it all. What i experienced is it does change your whole way of thinking your way of everything, like it really does expand your mind your consciousness and to a dangerous level. something we should not pry into. Til this day I have to fight off new age thoughts trying to convert me. despite rejecting it and not believing in it. it is just one example. how difficult it can be to get out of. I heard about a christian that was heavy in it for 3 years he had to fight, as it did not want him to leave. it is insidious.

So you're saying his whole life was a fraud? He even fooled his wife who loved him dearly, and his countless friends who spoke of his kindness and faith after his death. It was all a facade to fool us all.
I don’t think it was entirely, or even mostly, a fraud, but I do think there was a degree of deliberate theatrics to it. You don’t ascend to the level of media success that he did without curating an image and style.

I also added some more to my previous post that further explains my opinion.

Well, there goes another diversion attempt.

To be fair here, Trump really wanted to get the Fed under his personal control. It wasn't just about diversion. Too bad reality intervened.

He just used the terms 'transgender community' and 'the left' in a way that implied that they are not one amorphous entity. I wouldn't have thought that it needed to be specifically stated.
