  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why was the Jewish controlled media so against Trump?

I'm posting this in the conspiracy board even though the media is largely owned by biological Jews and that's a fact. It would probably end up here anyway, so I might as well post here. Biological Jews own the vast majority of legacy main stream media (MSM) in America. They dominate the narrative, so why were they so hostile towards a man, Trump, who was nothing but a friend and staunch ally to the Jewish people? Like, at least 90% of the coverage of Trump on MSM was negative.

I am offering $140 dollars Canadian reward to any man, woman or child who is capable of answering my question satisfactorily. The exchange rate works out to a little over $100 USD. I will snail-mail the winner the money (no e-transfer or paypal) and you will have to exchange it yourself.

QUESTION: Why is legacy MSM so biased and hostile towards Conservative/Republican leaning people (predominately White) when this demographic is most likely to be in support of the nation of Israel in terms of economy, military, right to exist, etc.? Why doesn't the leftist MSM attack Biden and company with the same furor as they hounded Trump? Why does MSM lean heavily left anyway? Due to the horrible massacre that happened just yesterday in Israel Oct 7/23, (some calling it the worst attack in 50 years) Biden pledges support for Israel, but this comes off as weak and half-hearted, especially when considering Biden's administration just unfroze a 6 billion dollar cash infusion to the #1 terror sponsor in the world, Iran. And don't tell me the #1 terror sponsor in the world is not going to find a way to appropriate those funds towards terror operations further. Where is the outcry from the Jewish owners of MSM? Do they not care about Israel? How could they possibly let this slide when Trump would have been neck deep in the trenches with retaliation. What about this current POTUS is superior to the former as far as Jewish interest is concerned? Another thing I don't understand is how biological Jews would call for violence towards, or try to instigate violence towards, White people when they themselves, in many cases, look White? That's such foolishness it's crazy. You would think the Jewish controlled MSM would be in alliance with the Israel supporting Conservatives of Western society.

Disclaimer: I'm new to this forum but I'll just say, do not waste my time trying to correct anything I've written. I believe what I believe and that's not going to change. So save us both some time and answer the question as it stands without trying to dictate terms and we will get along. I've been looking for a satisfactory answer to this for years and I will ignore you if you fail to meet my criteria. Thanks!

toxic christian parents

It's a delicate subject to talk about, I get along very well with my mother and we have a healthy relationship, but I know that many don't, in fact my grandmother was a religious fanatic and, with all due respect, abusive towards my mother and uncles, but my mother didn't lose her faith, which is good, right!
But when I hear an atheist talking about his religious fanatic parents, I feel a lot of sympathy for him. Because in fact most of the time he is right, you know parents who hit their children while they said Bible verses etc.
Of course, there are cases where parents really weren't bad people, they just put a few more rules in their homes.
But the case that struck me the most was one I read on reddit
In this case, the parents had good intentions, they spoke the truth, they were not bad people but they had serious defects
according to the son
the problems were political and religious fanaticism, not in terms of opinion, but in every meeting he had and has with his parents, they didn't stop talking about religion and politics
the second problem was the lack of space and psychological pressure
At 18 he became an atheist and started dating
His parents started putting some psychological pressure on him and his mother started crying saying things I know you're having sex, and they started begging him and his fiancée to go back to being Christians or they would go to hell, in every personal encounter. that they had,
the third problem is hypocrisy, when the son said he was going to live with his girlfriend, the father said that in the past if a woman lived with a man without getting married she was despised by society and rightly so, and the son discovered later that the parents lived together without getting married for 1 year,
I would like to hear opinions, on the one hand I understand the parents' desperation in knowing that their son could be condemned, but on the other hand I understand him wanting to move, I'm being modernist, I'm wrong in my thinking?

Nephilim: Giants of the Bible

The term giant can be found in the Bible to describe people of an unusual size. Og, the king of Bashan was of the people of the Rephaim who were unusually tall. His bier was nine cubits (13.1 ft; 4 m) in length and four cubits (5.8 ft; 1.8 m) in width. (Deuteronomy 3:11) Other giants mentioned in the Bible were Goliath of Gath, who was about 9.5 ft (2.9 m) tall, Ishbi-benob, Saph (Sippai); and Goliath's brother Lahmi as well as a man with six fingers on each of his hands and six toes on each of his feet. (1 Samuel 17:4-7; 2 Samuel 21:16, 18, 20; 1 Chronicles 20:4, 5)

Genesis 6:4 - The Hebrew word nephilim is plural, from the causative form of the verb naphal, meaning to fall, as found at 2 Kings 3:19; 19:7. Nephilim, then, means Fellers, or those who cause others to fall down. It is also used in a false sense at Numbers 13:33 (see below).

Scholarly interpretation varies as follows:

Some scholars believe the meaning of the word from fall indicates that the Nephilim were the fallen angels themselves who mated with human women. The Nephilim being the fallen angels.

Others believe the term "and so after that" at Genesis 6:4 indicates that the Nephilim were not the fallen angels or the mighty ones since the Nephilim "proved to be in the earth in those days" before the sons of God had sexual relations with the women. Those who interpret it this way believe the Nephilim were simply wicked men who would have been destroyed in the flood.

Considering the context, the Nephilim were not the angels themselves but the hybrid offspring of the unnatural union of angels taking the form of man and mating with human women.

I am convinced of the latter interpretation based upon the fact that in physical form the angels who forsook their natural position to become men in order to have sex with human women had their physical forms perish in the flood but would have returned in spirit form to heaven. (1 Peter 3:19-20; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6)

Some translations will move the term “and after that” to the beginning of the verse. This identifies the Nephilim with the mighty ones. For example Some Bibles translate the Hebrew hannephilim as giants and heroes from the Hebrew haggibborim. (See NIV) In the Greek Septuagint the word gigantes (giants) is used to translate both of those expressions.

Numbers 13:33 is a really cool reference to use here. It can easily be somewhat misunderstood. No one can deny the Bible’s potential for being misunderstood, but often it is misunderstood in that it is expected to reveal the whole truth, and nothing but the truth when that isn’t always the case as such. In this verse ten of the twelve sent out to survey the situation returned fearful and faithless. With Jehovah God on their side they were nevertheless afraid of the men of extraordinary size who they would come up against. They referred to them as the “Nephilim” and as “giants.” Only in this occasion are the people of Canaan referred to as “Nephilim” and only then to strike fear into the hearts of the camp. The fearful returning spies only used the term for that reason. The Nephilim perished in the flood, so the Bible is truthful in revealing this distortion but the distortion itself shouldn’t be misconstrued as truth. The Nephilim of Numbers 13:33 may be misapplied as those mentioned above in Genesis 6:4 when they in fact are not the same.

After the confusion of languages at Babel the brief account of the Nephilim seems to have inspired more than a few pagan mythologies. The confusion, at least in a modern interpretation, might be due to the term giants being thought of as mythological in the sense of the Greek deity, the Titan.

Joshua 12:4; 18:16 - Is an interesting example of the distinction between the two types of Bibles available. Many people don’t realize that the Bible version differs from the Bible translation in that the version allows for a greater or lesser degree of creative license whereas the translation typically leans towards the literal translation. The King James Version tends to be a great deal more liberal than most versions. Most Bibles read this verse as being in reference to the area of Rephaim, which in other verses is associated with people of unusual tall stature. NIV, ESV, ASV.

1 Samuel 17:4-7 - Goliath's height was six cubits and a span, which in today’s terms would be about 9.5 ft [2.9 m]. His coat of mail weighed about 125 lbs. [57 kg] and the blade of his spear weighed about 15 lbs. [6.8 kg]. His mail alone likely weighed as much or more than David himself.

Deuteronomy 2:20-21; 3:11 - These verses are similar to the verses above in that the King James Version uses the term associated with the area of Rephaim with the “land of giants” which, while not inaccurate isn’t a very literal translation. These verses differ in that they elaborate on the reference to giants. Here they are described in fuller detail.

Deuteronomy 2:10-11 - This verse indicates to me, the fallacy of the King James Version’s liberal approach to translation. The NIV reads: "The Emites used to live there - a people strong and numerous, and as tall as the Anakites. Like the Anakites, they too were considered Rephaites, but the Moabites called them Emites." The KJV’s mention of Rephaites simply as “giants” gives us some insight into the unusually tall stature of the people in this area which the more literal translation doesn’t, but on the other hand there is something specific lost in translation; the specific mention of the Rephaites / Emites.

Rona McDaniel says the quiet part out loud, attack on Israel a great opportunity!

>> Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel appeared on Fox News on Saturday, telling the network about what Republicans need to do to contrast themselves with Democrats following Hamas attacking Israel.

“I think this is a great opportunity for our candidates to contrast where Republicans have stood with Israel, time and time again, and Joe Biden has been weak,” McDaniel said. “And when America is weak, the world is less safe. We’re seeing this not just with the war in Ukraine and with an emboldened China, but now with an attack on Israel.” <<

Zelensky on Israel attack: ‘everyone who values life must stand in solidarity’

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned attacks on Israel by Hamas militants in a Saturday post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“Today, the entire world saw horrifying videos from Israel. Terrorists humiliate women and men, detain even the elderly, and show no mercy,” Zelensky’s post read. “In the face of such a terrorist strike, everyone who values life must stand in solidarity.”

...makes me wonder which perceptions and attitudes in the US will change now that the leader of Ukraine has asked the world to stand in solidarity with Israel.

Ukraine's staunchest allies have been on the left (those most skeptical of helping Ukraine are on the right).

However, now that he's voiced his support for Israel and saying that the world needs to stand in solidarity with them, will we potentially seem some of that flip-flop? (where pro-Israel conservatives will start liking Zelensky a little more, and more pro-Palestine "BDS" people on the left will being a little more stand-offish about helping him?)

Trump Touts Key Endorsement from Hannibal Lecter in Iowa Speeches (In NJ: "A wonderful man")

Trump Calls General Mark Milley Stupid

Trump Makes Claims About Democrats' Abortion Position

The former president made an unsubstantiated claim that Democrats are in favor of the executing of babies after they are born if the mother does not want them.

Trump Says He Has A Better Body Than Biden

Trump Gushes Over His Ivanka and Hanibal Lecter

Trump at the speech in Cedar Rapids heaped praise on his daughter Ivanka Trump, describing her as a "beauty" and "the whole package."
The former president then commented that he was "not allowed" to speak about his daughter's appearance.

Trump also praised fictional serial killer Hanibal Lecter, although he quickly clarified he meant an actor who portrayed him, who he claimed said that he loved the former president.

He said: "Hanibal Lecter, how great an actor he was. You know why I like him? Because he said on television 'I love Donald Trump' so I love him."

It is unclear which of the several actors who have portrayed Lecter Trump referred to and none have publicly stated their support for the [former] president.

Confused on what to think

New Christian here who’s been learning a lot! There’s many other reasons why I believe other than ID. (including the fact that materialism/physicalism is being whooped by really intelligent scientists, even a lot of atheist ones)

I definitely believe in some form microevolution, and I don’t think the Earth is 6000 years old. However I am a bit suspicious about some theories of theistic evolution. However I did see with InspiringPhilosophy (who has REALLY good content) people were saying that the theory he follows regarding theistic evolution could actually STRENGTHEN the fine tuning argument

However when I see any book, Youtube Video, or creationvsevolution thread on a forum/reddit, about intelligent design, it gets utterly FLOODED with atheists smushing Christians in debate.

So is intelligent design basically 100% disproven at this point? Especially when I see people using really compelling arguments using math/physics. Even people saying how intelligent design being debunked made them completely quit being a Christian after 20 years.

I know William Lane Craig got thrashed in a debate about it but I see Stephen Meyer making a surge recently.

Bumblebees are Hitting Back at Asian Hornets With Top-Tier Combat Skills, Reveals Research

Bumblebees have top-tier combat skills when targeted by Asian hornets, reveals new research.

Buff-tailed bumblebees drop to the ground when hornets attack—carrying the pests down with them, according to the findings.

Hornets lose their grip as they drop, or the bee raises its sting and fights until the hornet gives up.

“Stunned” scientists at University of Exeter witnessed 120 attacks that took the same course, with the bee triumphing each time.

The invasive pests, also known as yellow-legged hornets, have already invaded large portions of mainland Europe and parts of east Asia and have for the first time been spotted in the US. Sightings in the UK and mainland Europe are at an all-time high this year—but people are fighting back, fearing for pollinators such as bees.

“With honey bees, the hornets do something called ‘hawking’—hovering outside the bees’ nest and attacking returning foragers as they fly past,” said Dr. Thomas O’Shea-Wheller at the University of Exeter.

Dr Christopher Veniamin

I just wanted to inform anyone in general looking for friendly, but high level, articulation of Orthodox Christianity. Dr. Christopher Veniamin has some excellent audio videos articulating the Orthodox faith on matters like salvation, hesychasm, the Jesus Prayer etc. I am pretty simple so I do not want to over or understate the level of discussion from Dr Veniamin. At the very least, a person can gather some beneficial insights.

Key Thoughts on Spirituality

If E = mc2 then we can divide and conclude that...

Mass (m) = Energy (E/c2)

And there are three varieties...

Natural E/c2 - All mass is basically cooled plasma
Mental E/c2 - Mentally, A mathematical formula, but this has chemical and spiritual properties as well.
Spiritual E/c2 - E (motivation, warmth, love) / c2 (faith, hope, charity, joy)

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. - 1 John 1:5

God can take mass and turn it into plasma... God can take the plasma and reform it into mass. All to his will and imagination... No man being his counselor. Even then... How would we humans know to create living things out of the dust alone?

Unfortunately, though, the light and the darkness interact here on planet Earth...Comparing the light and the darkness, the opposite of E/c2 would be z (absolute zero)/ d (darkness)...

Natural z/d - Nothing, empty space.
Mental z/d - Again nothing but empty space.
Spiritual z/d - z (laziness, coldness, hatred) / d (fear, despair, greed, sorrow)

Spiritually then we have...

Spiritual E/c2 - E (motivation, warmth, love) / c2 (faith, hope, charity, joy)
**** The World of the Flesh - Everything in-between
Spiritual z/d - z (laziness, coldness, hatred) / d (fear, despair, greed, sorrow)

Key Thoughts on keeping wonderful spirit...

1. Get a good image of the Lord Jesus Christ - Romans 13:14
2. Anticipate his return as something imminent - 1 John 3:3
3. Maintain a wonderful discipline and effort - As in the quote by Wernher von Braun

From Rocket Scientist to Christian... "One day in Fort Bliss, a neighbor called and asked if I would like to go to church with him. I accepted, because I wanted to see if the American church was just a country club as I'd been led to expect. Instead, I found a small, white frame building...in the hot Texas sun on a browned-grass lot...Together, these people make a live, vibrant community. This was the first time I really understood that religion was not a cathedral inherited from the past, or a quick prayer at the last minute. To be effective, a religion has to be backed up by discipline and effort." — Wernher von Braun

I am glad that Wernher von Braun did not mention a doctrine. I find that in church people are as good as their discipline and effort. When the discipline and effort go out the window little is left but for the church to fall apart. In which for me is sad to see happen to a church that was at one time very active for Christ. Pictured below is the Pentecostal Holiness church I am still a member of. Without the discipline and effort made by the community to make this a wonderful church we became just as bad as all the other churches not doing well in our time. And it is an amazing for me to see such a different people in this time under the same doctrinal teachings. The intellectual doctrine did not keep the spirituality alive that had such a profound impact on the society.

Joe Biden Faces Fury Over Iran Deal as Israel Attacked

Social-media users made a direct connection between the U.S. deal with Iran, which funds and supports Hamas, and calls for the destruction of Israel. "If you are horrified by what is happening in #Israel right now, you can thank @JoeBiden. Iran is spending the $6 BILLION Joe Biden just gave them," posted the journalist Amy Mek. "The Islamic attack that you are watching unfold in Israel is being funded by Joe Biden and the Democrat Party," tweeted journalist and author Laura Loomer.

Besides God, There is No Savior

Isaiah 43:10-13 ESV

“You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord,
“and my servant whom I have chosen,
that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
nor shall there be any after me.
I, I am the Lord,
and besides me there is no savior.
I declared and saved and proclaimed,
when there was no strange god among you;
and you are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and I am God.
Also henceforth I am he;
there is none who can deliver from my hand;
I work, and who can turn it back?”

My intention today with this passage of Scripture is not to go into all the history behind what was going on then, and then to teach a lesson on what was happening with those people at that day and time. My intention here is to make practical application of these words to our lives and to our world and to the church today.

And this is based on the fact that "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV)

For what these specific verses are about are to teach us the character of God Almighty, who he is, what he is capable of, how far his power extends, and what our relationship with him should look like if we are true followers of Jesus Christ by God-given and God-persuaded faith in Jesus Christ.

If our faith in Jesus Christ is genuine biblical faith, that means we have been crucified and buried with Christ in death to sin and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer as slaves to sin, but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness. Sin no longer has mastery over our lives to where we are obeying its sinful desires. But now we are walking (in conduct, in practice) according to the Spirit and no longer according to the flesh. For our will is to obey the will of God (Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14).

So, we are now the Lord’s servants and messengers whose lives are surrendered to his will, who are living in submission to Christ as Lord (Owner-Master) of our lives, and who are walking in obedience to his commands (New Covenant), in practice, according to the will of God, and in his power, strength, and wisdom, and to the glory and praise of God.

We who are in this relationship with the Lord are those who are listening to our Lord, and who are following him in obedience, and who are being taught by him about who he is and what he is about (John 10:27). And we are those who believe him, and who put our trust in him and in his sovereign will over our lives. And so when the world is crashing down all around us, we are at peace, because we know that God is in control, and that nothing can happen unless God allows it, and he allows it for a purpose.

But what else is he teaching us here? One of the big things that is standing out to me is that he is telling us that he is the ONLY SAVIOR of the world, and there is no other. It grieves me, I will tell you, when I hear and see so many professers of faith in Christ, and many who do not profess faith in Jesus Christ, hold our former US president, Donald Trump, up to “God status.” So many are looking to this man (or others) to save our nation from what ails us. But these are just men (or women, as the case may be).

We should not be looking to human beings to save us – not to our governments, and not to our military forces, etc. For human beings are flesh and blood, and they are fallible, and many of them are not who they claim to be. And everything we hear and see and read is not what it appears to be, either. We can’t just listen to or read or watch the news and expect that what we are receiving is the truth. Liars and deceivers abound everywhere! So we must not make other humans our gods and our saviors.

We also need to be looking at our present world through a spiritual lens and not through a natural lens. We need to be viewing what we think is going on in the world through the teachings and the prophecies of Scripture regarding the end times in which we now live. But we must interpret what we read in light of the Messianic age, and not in light of the Old Covenant, which we are not under.

For example, the Israel that is of God is spiritual Israel, which is comprised of all who believe in Jesus Christ, regardless of what we were by physical birth (Jew or Gentile). For if we believe in Jesus Christ to be Lord and Savior of our lives, in truth, and in righteousness, and in obedience to our Lord, then we are the heirs of God’s promises to his people Israel, but not to the physical nation of Israel which is of Hagar and which denies Jesus Christ as Lord, but only to those who believe in Jesus Christ.

[John 8:18-19,38-47; Romans 9:4-8; Romans 11:17-25; Galatians 3:16,26-29; Galatians 4:22-31; Ephesians 2:11-18; Ephesians 3:6; 1 John 2:22]

And please know that we live in an age of massive deception where anything can be faked, altered, distorted, and made to look real when it isn’t, or made to look as though one thing is happening, when the opposite may be true. So we have to stop believing the news, and then take everything to the Lord in prayer and in the study of the Scriptures, inquiring of him with regard to what is really going on. For if we don’t, we are ripe for deception and for supporting the enemy while rejecting those truly on the Lord’s side.

So, let God be your only God. Do not idolize any human beings, no matter who they are. For we are all human. And not everyone is who he/she claims to be. And please don’t trust the news media to tell you the truth. Please pray through everything and let God show you what is truth and what are lies and let his word (in context) teach you what is truth and reveal to you what are lies. Don’t let humans alone direct you in this, for not everyone is who he claims to be. There are many wolves in sheep’s clothing among us.

Liars and Deceivers: [Matthew 7:15-23; Matthew 24:11-14; John 10:1-15; 2 Corinthians 11:13-15; Philippians 3:2; 2 Peter 2:1-22; 1 Timothy 1:3-7; 1 Timothy 6:3-10; 2 Timothy 3:1-9; 1 John 4:1-6; Jude 1:1-25]

For Our Nation

An Original Work / September 11, 2012

Bombs are bursting. Night is falling.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Trust Him with your life today.
Make Him your Lord and your Savior.
Turn from your sin. Follow Jesus.
He will forgive you of your sin;
Cleanse your heart, made new within.

Men betraying: Our trust fraying.
On our knees to God we’re praying,
Seeking God to give us answers
That are only found in Him.
God is sovereign over all things.
Nothing from His mind escaping.
He has all things under His command,
And will work all for good.

Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.

Men deceiving: We’re believing
In our Lord, and interceding
For our nation and its people
To obey their God today.
He is our hope for our future.
For our wounds He offers suture.
He is all we need for this life.
Trust Him with your life today.

Islam attacks Israel

There is no need to repeat the stories and images coming from the Jewish State of Israel, under attack from Hamas, a militant Islamic organization and a known Iranian proxy.
This war will not fizzle out, there has to be a final outcome. What that will be, is told to us in the Prophetic Word:
Bible prophecy informs us of what will happen when a combined force of the neighbouring countries attack. The Lord Himself will destroy them, as per Psalm 83 and Deuteronomy 32:22 & 34-35 - by a judgement of fire. “A fire set ablaze by My anger, on the Day of punishment and vengeance, at the moment My enemies make a mistake; their doom is fast approaching”.

Many prophesies speak of this terrible Day of the Lord, a worldwide disaster of Noah’s Flood proportions. Isaiah 30:26 tells us exactly what the Lord will use on that Day, it will be an explosion of the suns surface, a coronal mass ejection of unprecedented magnitude, one that will literally fulfil all the graphically described prophesies about that terrible Day.

It will be a different world that recovers from this devastation, a One World Government will emerge and a new, Christian nation will be established, in all of the holy Land. Isaiah 62:1-5
Maranatha!

Micah 5:1, Isaiah 3:1-7, will be the next to happen. The loss of the Israeli leadership will encourage Iran to attempt their desired outcome.

Fear of adding to the Bible

I have a worry that I have ended up believing that I can add to the Bible particularly Revelations just by saying or thinking I will. I have thoughts that say "if you do xyz then you will be sinning" meaning I will be adding or taking away from Revelations. Xyz can be something as simple as breathing. It's terrible and feel if I end up adding or taking away I will never be forgiven. When I try to read the Bible for help when i find encouraging verses, I keep worrying "the Bible didn't say that, you're reading it wrong."

Not Everyone is Going to Heaven

Matthew 7:21-23 ESV

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’”

These are the words of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God who is God, the second person of our triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the one who left his throne in heaven and humbled himself and became a man and died on a cross for our sins. And why did he die? It was not just to forgive us our sins and to promise us heaven when we die. He died that we would die with him to sin and live to his righteousness (1 Peter 2:24).

Now, you won’t hear too many people share these words of Jesus, not in this day and time, because his words contradict their words. For his words tell us plainly that it is not enough to make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, but we have to obey the Lord and his commandments under the New Covenant, in practice. We must be those who are doing the will of God and not just mouthing empty words of praise and adoration of him as Lord.

But this is not what is primarily being taught these days. This is not the gospel message which is permeating the church here in America right now. The popular gospel message of today excludes obedience to the Lord, and it excludes the forsaking of our sins, and it excludes holy living. And it gives its adherents free reign to live however they want and yet still claim Jesus as Savior and heaven as their destiny, which can’t be taken from them.

But what else did Jesus teach? He taught that if anyone would come after him that he must deny self, take up his cross daily (die daily to sin and to self) and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to our old lives of living in sin and for self, we will lose them for eternity. But if for the sake of Jesus we deny self, die daily to sin, and follow him in obedience, then we have the hope of eternal life with God (see Luke 9:23-26).

And Jesus said that if we love him, we will keep (obey) his commandments (John 14:15-24; John 15:10). And he said that his sheep hear (listen to) his voice, he knows us, and we follow (obey) him. And we are the ones to whom he gives eternal life, and we will never perish, and no one will snatch us out of the hands of Jesus nor out of the hands of God the Father (John 10:27-30). And the apostle John said that it is those who keep our Lord’s commandments (New Covenant) who truly know him (1 John 2:3-6).

So, this whole idea that we can “get saved,” have all our sins forgiven, be guaranteed heaven upon death, and that nothing can take it away from us, despite how we live, is a lie from hell. Jesus did not teach that, and his NT apostles did not teach that. They all taught that obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in practice, is required of us for salvation from sin and for eternal life with God, and that if sin is what we practice, we will not inherit eternal life with God, regardless of what our lips have professed.

Seek the Lord

An Original Work / July 20, 2012
Based off Isaiah 55

“Come to Me all you who thirst; come to waters.
Listen to Me, and eat what’s good today,
And your soul will delight in richest of fare.
Give ear to Me, and you will live.
I have made an eternal covenant with you.
Wash in the blood of the Lamb.”

Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him.
Let the wicked forsake his way, in truth.
Let him turn to the Lord, and he will receive mercy.
Freely, God pardons him.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,”
declares the Lord, our God.

“My word that goes out of My mouth is truthful.
It will not return to Me unfulfilled.
My word will accomplish all that I desire,
And achieve the goal I intend.
You will go in joy and be led forth in peace.
The mountains will burst into song… before you,
And all of the trees clap their hands.”
