I'm not giving a specific date.

If you don't believe the world is going to "end" you don't believe in Revelation

If you don't believe in Revelation you don't believe the bible

If you don't believe the bible you don't believe the word of God

If you don't believe the word of God you're not a Christian.

Theres a difference between innovating for a system to support billions of people and creating a useless machine meant to understand how the world came to be.

Maybe if the people at CERN read the bible, they would know how to world came to be and wouldn't need to use this dangerous useless machines that put the entire world at risk because of their "curiosity".

Sure. But you ARE saying "everything's just as foretold in scripture for the end of the world!" in a thread about CERN's near future activities. That's pretty close.
Sure I believe the world will end. But in a week or in a million years, no one knows. What I do know is that people have been saying "any second now, this time for sure", for at least 6000 years. That's an impressive track record.

How do you think people "innovate" without experimenting to see how things work?

I only brought up Revelation 17/18, because unlike many "Christians" the woman who responded to me actually believes the bible is the word of God so I thought she could give me insight.

I don't think CERN has much to do with the end of the world, It could be biblical prophecy or it could not be.

Why would it happen in 1 million years when the world is only about 6,000 years old?

Have you heard it of God's 7 day plan:

    Part 1: 4000-3000 BC - Genesis, Creation ( Old Testament )
    Part 2: 3000-2000 BC ( Old Testament )
    Part 3: 2000-1000 BC ( Old Testament )
    Part 4: 1000-1 BC ( Old Testament )
    Part 5: 1-1000 AD - Jesus, Gospels ( New Testament )
    Part 6: 1000-2000 AD ( New Testament )
    Part 7: 2000-3000 AD - Revelation, End Times ( New Testament )
    Part 7(1): 2000-? AD - Tribulation ( New Testament )
    Part 7(2): 2000+? - 3000 AD - Heaven on Earth ( New Testament )

For that reason I believe the end times will be a matter of months, years, or decades.

Also I doubt people have been saying the world will end for 6,000 years when Revelation was written about 2000 years ago.

And anyone who studies Revelation and The Bible will understand that the prophecies are being fulfilled.

Why are you concerned with worldly innovations ?

You think Revelation is the earliest apocalypse prediction?

And those are just semitic ones. Never mind that most (all?) other religious traditions have an apocalypse myth.

Dude, a couple of posts back you were saying "So was it good that Adam and Eve "experimented" with the tree and knowledge to understand it?

I never understood why people can't just be satisfied with a house, job, food, family and Jesus." which, if you want anything beyond a basic hunter gatherer stoneage lifestyle, is going to involve some innovation, and therefore, experimentation, and learning and understanding new things. Since I assume you aren't suggesting everyone adopt a basic stoneage lifestyle, I'm wondering how you reconcile the two positions?

Are you here to start arguments ?

I simply posted my interpretation of Revelation.

    Did that offend you ?

We should be here to worship Jesus Christ, we're all Christians, and share something similar.

I asked you to explain your statement. I'm sorry that seems to upset you.

    Ok I'll explain my statement.

I think theres a different between innovating for the greater good of society, and innovating for curiosity.

    And that difference is?

How many things we take for granted as bettering society only came about because of pure curiosity? Like anything that uses electricity, for example?

WI have a spiritual picture of these situations not necessarily chronological with the Word.
I see much has as already taken place over a few years and in the process of it now.
It is all coming together like a jigsaw puzzle. Some I didn't understand before but I
believed it and as a result it is now being revealed which makes it all quite exciting but sad at
the same time for Unbelievers especially in my family.
What I have done is come right to the fore with my beliefs even though it has created division
with some because this way they will know.... exactly what they have to do when things get
bad for them. I have always known that God doesn't want any of us sitting on the fence but
for harmony's sake I have slightly given this impression to my family - but now.. I have
come out' (and not in that way) I am making my position entirely clear to them so they have no doubts about the differences. I have contact with most of my family on facebook and now have
included a lot of Christian friends who post Christian messages daily even though I know my family wont want to see them! If they want to see me they have to accept these at the same time A couple have 'flown' but they are probably the ones most likely to turn to God as are more convicted.
New Age Christians here could argue against this subject and this wont help anyone so I wont go into a lot of detail but most Christian prophets think Cern's aim is to open the 'other side abyss' allowing demonic entities to take over our world. Practically that is already happening and there have been a lot of paranormal visions over the world. It amazes me how much of these are not published more! - like strange cloud formations, cities in the sky, loud noises trumpet sounds etc
A few years ago just one of these things would have been World News but now there is no fuss no one bothers because we have all been hypnotised by the world-wide web

The concept of the world wide web was initiated at CERN, because scientists around the world wanted a quick way to share data.

They made it freely available, creating the internet, and giving people like you the chance to moan about how their work hasn't led to any practical applications!
