  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I tend to disagree with the people who say that the first 2 (PM & Clones) were terrible movie because of the bad acting. Don't get me wrong - Portman's acting is unusually bad and Hayden Christianson has the charisma of a doorknob, which did put me off a bit. But the reason I (and probably many of you) fell in love with the whole Star Wars thing to begin with was because of the special effects and creatures (most of which are now CGI), and the fantasy of it all. As long as that part continues to be great, I'm willing to overlook a bit of bad acting. I own all 5 of them on DVD and never get tired of watching them over and over and over.

That being said, I've probably never looked forward more to a movie than I am to the final chapter. It's driving me NUTS, and being overseas, it's going to be even harder to see it..

actually....i dont not like eps 1 and 2 for bad acting...nor love the last 3 for the creatures and special effects!

I love eps 4, 5 and 6 because i think its an awesome story line that develops in the coolest way possible with good background information laid out in all of the movies that draws everything together.

and actually i thought the acting in ep 1 and 2 was good, i was on with the acting...i thought..and this is true in some areas.. The backbone of what is suppose to happen is changed and i think they're taking too long to develop the storyline that needs to be there.

My sister wants to know why only some of the Jedi Knights (yoda and Obi-Wan[ben]Kenobi) disappear when they die but not others.

Me and my dad think it is because the force took the ones that disappeared, and the others were killed....against their will.

"The Force is strong with this one." I'm guessing that it talkes a moment of conscious decision to disappear like that and if you're in the middle of a lightsaber fight and don't stop to "pray" you just get cut in half like all the rest. Just a thought...
Oh, and also it may have to do with a lever of mastery of the Force. Who knows? = )

Look there, there's a handful of theories there, take your pick really. Though one on the second page seems most... thought out (or using George's idea anyways)

(Stewart Griffin)
And yes, George Lucas does have a reason for treating these Jedi deaths differently. "There is a whole issue around that and the ability to disappear," he says. "The key line to understanding this is when Ben Kenobi tells Darth Vader, 'If you strike me down...' And it'll be explained as we go along."

Starwars is my favorite Science fiction movie of all time, I really enjoy all the movies and i think the special effects are awesome. There are alot of people out there who are down on the recent movies that came out but I dont see anything wrong with them. The pod race in episode 1 really kept me on the edge of my seat. It is my favorite scene out of all the movies I have seen in my entire lifetime.
