  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Rumours will stay rumours until someone actually substantiates them... Let's not partake in that ridiculous mess please...

And ya, as countless interviews with GL will reveal, he *did* write the Phantom Menace with his kids in mind. That's where we get that absolutely STUPID character, Jar-Jar Binks. What a mess that became.

GL definately should have worked with a dialogue writer for the actual parts in the movie where people open their mouths and talk though. His stuff is terrible in the prequels...

I've seen the effect of what 'multiple God's do to sci-fi franchise (i.e Star Trek) and would not wish that on any fandom.

Honestly, I think Star Wars has the opposite problem -- GL wants total creative control over everything. If he would let a few more talented gods in and let them do what they do best, then GL could stick to what he does best and we'd have better movies coming out.

Naw, we actually *know* that. I've read nearly every single expanded universe novel out there and trust me, there are some people who are amazing at spinning a story... a lot better than Lucas is at the very least. Take a look at Timothy Zahn and his 5 EU books - the Heir to the Empire Trilogy and the Hand of Thrawn duology. Great books, great storylines, great reads. And then Michael Stackpole's Rogue Squadron (the 4 or 5 he wrote for that series)... might be a bit "cliché" in terms of other fighter pilot novels you might read, but the fact that it's in Star Wars and is a very solid story helps overcome that. Not to mention his "I, Jedi" book too. That was a VERY good novel about Corran Horn (one of the main characters from the Rogue Squadron) and his journey to the force.

Now, in other news though - George has announced 2 (yes, TWO) full-length TV series' will be in production. One will be simply 30 minute Clone Wars episodes (up from their shorts that are currently on Cartoon Network) and then a live-action series between III and IV detailing events in there. It could be interesting or it could absolutely bite... depends how well III works in theaters. If we see GL has messed up another movie, the live-action TV show will die QUICKLY because of no fan support. Burn us once, we've watched Episode I, burn us twice, we've watched (with trepidation) Episode III, burn us thrice with Episode III, we won't ever consider watching this TV series. However, I think Episode III will absolutely rock and GL will once again be the movie god he once was with the originals.

Ok,, I have a stupid question. How does Darth Vader know that Luke is his son, if the babies were hidden from him and he thought he killed Padme (and the baby(s) ? Did he figure it out just from Luke's last name?? Just a little thing that I have been pondering...

Well, after he blew up the Death Star, the name Luke Skywalker was probably all over the galactic CNN. During the dog fight over the Death Star, Vader noted that the Force was particularly strong with the rebel fighter who fired the shot that destroyed the Death Star. Vader probably just put 2 and 2 together.

That's what I am figuring also. (I do like the driver's licence comment though...lol) In reading the novel from the screenplay, although it's not talked about, apparently they had talked about what they wanted to name the baby(s), if they were a boy, or a girl (He thinks its a girl, she thinks its a boy... turns out they both were right...:) So, if they talked about what they were to name them, I guess that when he hears his name,, he figures it out... also because of that Force thing ;)
