  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well, since Lucas changed some scenes in the Original Trilogy, it now looks like Palpatine tells Darth Vader that Luke Skywalker is the offspring of Anakin Skywalker.

I must've missed the changes. Were in the original trilogy does this take place?

. . . . . . . . . .

If I have one complaint about the original trilogy over the new trilogy, it would be the pace- some of it is too quick.

-Luke becomes a perfect Jedi seemingly very fast.
-Luke is never really tempted to do the bidding of the Dark Side until the end of RotJ (Emporer making him mad while watching the fight in space), but he sure turns angry and does the Emporer's bidding rather quickly (grabs his light saber and fstrikes). Sure, he stops, and he realizes what's happening ultimately- but the temptation from the Emporer waivered Luke WAY too easily.

There are other places as well, but I can only think of these as a few days ago I watched the end of RotJ on Fox. I know people are going to argue and/or point things out to me. Bring it on! ;)

Man.....I just got back from seeing it. I can barely even speak....I can't get it through my head that everything is now complete....

Was it good, or is it simply that a chapter in your (our) life is now complete?

That movie ROCKED!!! I mean, it was Starwars, it will rock no matter what, but still.

I was kinda dissapointed with how they condensed the movie... everything happened kinda quickly.

But on the bright side, General Grievous and Palpatine were awesome, Anakin and Amidala only had a few sappy lines, and the battle scenes, although somewhat short, were very nice. The duels between Palpatine and Yoda and OB1 and Anakin were also very impressive.

I can't really put the words together to describe how I felt about it. I suppose all I can say is that it was as it should have been. I felt awful coming out of it though. Everything awful that can happen happens.

To agree with Paladin Dave, the only thing really wrong with this one was that everything did seem to happen rather quickly. Some things didn't seem prevoked enouhg or well enough, like Anakin's turning to the Dark Side (as I said, seems- some will really have to think about it to see why it happened so seemingly quickly).

But otherwise it was good for the most part.

My family and I went and seen it this afternoon... It was awesome.. really good. It was very sad and tragic. I know alot of people hate episode 1 and 2, but they were needed chapters to the story, because seeing Anakin as a young child, and grow into a young man.. made us have an emotional attachment to him as a character. Then to see him in the emotional rollercoaster he takes in this movie to the darkside... I'm just glad to know that in the "end" (Return of the Jedi... YAY!) he wakes up and is redeemed!.. OH,, and for those who haven't seen the re-edited version of ROTJ with Hayden Christiansen edited in.. its awesome and really makes it come together for real!
