Sunday Virgins Left Behind At The Rapture
In the parable of the 10 virgins five virgins are waiting for the bridegroom to arrive with their lamps completely filled with oil while the other 5 are waiting with their lamps only half filled with oil.
Only when the bridegroom finally arrives do the 5 unprepared virgins realize their peril of not having enough oil in their lamps and beg the others for some of their oil. The 5 prepared virgins tell the other 5 unprepared virgins to go to the town and purchase some oil. But when the unprepared virgins finally return everyone is already inside celebrating and the doors to the wedding banquet are securely shut and will not be opened ever again.
To understand this parable one must remember that Jesus led the Israelites through the desert to the promised land as a pillar of cloud and a pillar of fire. Jesus represented a lamp full of oil leading the Israelites through the desert as he watched over them day and night.
People today are waiting for Jesus Christ's return to gather up all of his faithful in an event called the Rapture.
But according to the parable of the 10 virgins one must be prepared day and night, meaning that our lives should not be half filled with obedience towards Jesus where we are only 'Sunday Christians ' thinking about our own faithfulness only one day of the week.
To be included in the Rapture one must be diligent 24/7 365 or risk having your lamp run low and when the bridegroom arrives (hint: the Rapture) you'll be caught off guard enjoying the secular pleasures of this world that drain your lamp to a level insufficient to be included in the wedding banquet.
Believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and stay faithful and diligent for the day of Jesus Christ's return in the Rapture can happen at any time.
God Bless
