CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Praying for everyone on the board here. Lord, have mercy!
I will be going dayshift at the end of May, which I hope goes well. I feel very blessed to have this prayer answered. However, it seems I always have a prayer request.
I cover well and can pass for a relatively normal person, but I have been plagued with social anxiety and depression for most of my life (these things go in cycles). It has been a life-long struggle and I would love to be able to get over myself and be like others- but it is hard for me. I know that on the outside I can seem aloof sometimes and unfriendly- but that is not the case. My inherent struggle with this is at the core of 99.9% of my problems in life. At times it can be debilitating. Unction last night was also a blessing- because it kind of jogged me out of my tendency to avoid the issue and cling to numbness. I ask that you all keep me in your prayers going forward. I have difficulty opening up about this with people I interact with in real life (and certainly not on FB either- because I know all of those folks)- so opening up here feels a little less daunting. Thanks.

Thanks so mUch for prayers. Surgery went well. Not reacting well to pain meds, but they are working pretty well. I already can't wait to get drains removed. Three weeks? I don't want To miss all the singing of Christos Anesti.

I'm good at waiting until I should have already asked.
I am asking for your prayers again. I have an appt with the oncologist today. My recovery is going well enough, but they found another cancer during the surgery. My surgeon is quite confident that he got it all and there's nothing to worry about, but the real answers come today, especially since they didn't do a node biopsy to check for more spreading.
