  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why Men Are Alone. The Ugly Truth Women Don't Want to Hear.

Not anymore.

20 years ago, what you said would be true.

But now with social media strongly pushing tattoo into mainstream, I'd be thinking anyone with tattoo is just like everybody else obsessed with fads.

The tattoos aren't always real. I used to follow a model years ago with a signature look. One day she did a photoshoot showing their application. You couldn't tell they were fake because she had a professional and the images were tweaked. The same could be true for someone with means but you'd never know.

How old was Rebekah when she married Isaac?

The Bible does not answer this with a certain number. However, we have some clues.

Abraham said to his servant (S1) who was to find a wife for Isaac in Genesis 24:

8 "If the woman is not willing to follow you, you will be free from this my oath."
The woman had to agree to the marriage.

Later S1 found Rebekah:

57 Then they [Rebekah's family] said, “Let’s call the young woman and ask her about it.” 58 So they called Rebekah and asked her, “Will you go with this man?”
“I will go,” she said.
Rebekah acted rather independently. She was a young woman old enough to decide. She could be a mature teenager. Her husband was 40 years old (Genesis 25:20).

Do not stir up or awaken love until it pleases

Agreed. More than that, seems to me, is addictive behavior. Interestingly the old KJV and I don't know how many other versions, present it as something along the lines of, "do you awaken my love", and to be honest, I don't know which is more accurate. But it seems to me to make more sense that it would refer to arousing desire before it would naturally arouse itself.
King James Bible:
I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.

New King James Version:
I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, By the gazelles or by the does of the field, Do not stir up nor awaken love Until it pleases.

It's Passing Away

The world as we know it is passing away.
Corrosion, corruption have come here to stay.
The lies and deceptions are plain as can be.
They capture the multitudes; few are now free.

They kill and they trick and they lie through their teeth.
They think they’re above, but they’re really beneath.
So many believe them, who fall for their tricks.
They give them their loyalties, to them affix.

They get so convinced that they cling to the lies.
They don’t use good judgment, so they are not wise.
They fall for the platitudes, all the smooth talk.
When presented with truth, then to that they balk.

So, what is the answer to all that’s afloat?
It’s Jesus who separates sheep from the goats.
Believe him and his word, do all that he speaks,
Believe not the messengers whose lies they sneak.

You Say You Love God

You say you love God, but do you truly?
For your life is being lived unruly.
You say that darkness, it did dissipate,
But by your words you, the truth, now negate.

You say a lot of things that are untrue.
Believing what you say is hard to do.
Your witness is not pure, nor is your life,
For you count darkness now as part of light.

Your thinking now is not in line with God,
Your flesh now goes with you where’er you trod.
Following flesh instead of righteousness,
You still think God your life should surely bless.

This thinking not based on truth, but a lie,
For you’re convinced that you’ll not surely die.
You think you are above the law of God,
But His word will prove to be true. He’s God!

For you can’t live your life just how you want,
Mocking the truth, and righteousness you taunt.
For, we are all accountable to God,
For all we do and everywhere we trod.

And one day Jesus will return to judge.
The truth you’ll not be able then to fudge.
For, we’ll be judged according to our deeds,
And if the gospel’s truth, we well did heed.

“He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury” (Rom 2:6-8; cf. Gal 6:7-8).

If You Hear His Voice

“Now Moses was faithful in all God's house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God's house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.
“Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says,
‘Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
on the day of testing in the wilderness,
where your fathers put me to the test
and saw my works for forty years.
Therefore I was provoked with that generation,
and said, “They always go astray in their heart;
they have not known my ways.”
As I swore in my wrath,
“They shall not enter my rest.”’
“Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called ‘today,’ that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.” (Hebrews 3:5-14 ESV)

The Bible does not teach “Once Saved Always Saved,” especially not in the sense that so many have of what it means to be saved and to have eternal life with God. The Scriptures do not teach that we can make a one time profession of faith in Jesus Christ and now we are “good to go” to heaven, no conditions attached. All of God’s promises to us have conditions that must be met by us for us to receive what was promised. And this is not saying that we have to be absolutely perfect, but that sin should no longer be our practice, but righteousness and obedience to God should be our practice.

For Jesus Christ gave his life up for us on that cross, in putting our sins to death with him, in order that we might now die with him to sin and live for him and to his righteousness in walks of obedience to his commands. He shed his blood for us on that cross to buy us back for God (to redeem us) out of our lives of slavery (bondage, addiction) to sin so that we will now honor and serve the Lord Jesus Christ with our lives. He died and rose again that we might be raised with him to walk in newness of life in him, no longer as slaves to sin, but as slaves to God and to his righteousness.

[1 Peter 2:24; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Romans 6:1-23; Titus 2:11-14]

For we are his house, his temple, his body, IF we hold fast our confidence and our hope. And this is not talking about holding fast to a confidence and hope based upon a half-truth (lie) gospel message which is telling you that all you have to do is “believe” (rarely biblically defined) in Jesus once in your life and now heaven is guaranteed you when you die regardless of how you live. For if you read the Scriptures, the entire New Testament, in reality, in their full context, it will be very obvious that salvation that is genuine results in us denying self, dying daily to sin, and following Jesus in obedience.

[Matthew 7:21-23; Luke 9:23-26; John 10:27-30; 1 John 2:3-6]

Therefore, if you hear the voice of the Lord speaking to you, do not harden your hearts as the Israelites of the Old Covenant did when they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. Do not desire evil as they did. Do not be idolaters and revelers and drunkards. Do not indulge in sexual immorality. Do not put Christ to the test by your rebellious behaviors and by your refusals to submit to him and to his will for your lives. And don’t be those who grumble against the Lord and against his true servants when they try to point out the truth to you in order to save your souls from hell.

[1 Corinthians 10:1-22; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-13]

For, if we follow after their example, we will end up with the same result. For these things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as they did. And these things happened to them as an example for us, but they were written down for our instruction. Why were they written down for our instruction? So that we don’t do what they did and end up with the same result. So, what is that saying? It is saying that if we follow the same pattern as they did, we also will be cut off. We will not have salvation from sin, and we will not enter into eternal life with God in his heavenly kingdom.

[Jn 6:35-58; Jn 15:1-11; Rom 1:18-32; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 8:1-14; 1 Co 6:9-10; 2 Co 5:10; Gal 5:16-24; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:1-17; 1 Jn 1:5-10; 1 Jn 3:4-10; Heb 10:23-31; Rev 21:8,27; Rev 22:14-15]

So, the caution to us here is for us to take care lest there be in any of us an evil, unbelieving heart, leading us to fall away from the living God. For “belief” is not what we profess with our lips alone. Belief is divine persuasion as to the holiness and righteousness of God, and as to our sinfulness and of our need to turn away from our sins to now follow our Lord in walks of obedience to his commands in holy living. And genuine belief (faith) comes from God, is authored by him, and is gifted to us by him, and it is not of our own doing, so we don’t get to define it. God does! His word does!

[Hebrews 12:1-2; Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12-13; John 6:44; Acts 26:18]

Therefore, considering the biblical truth of all that has been presented here, we who profess faith in Jesus Christ are to be exhorting (spurring, urging) one another EVERY DAY, as long as it is called “today,” that none of us may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, IF indeed we hold on to the faith that is biblical, that Jesus and his NT apostles taught (in full context), firm (steadfast) to the end. For if our faith is genuine, we are saved (past), we are being saved (present), and we will be saved (future) when Jesus returns, when our salvation will be complete.

[Matthew 24:9-14; Romans 8:24; Romans 13:11; 1 Corinthians 1:18; 1 Corinthians 15:1-2; 2 Timothy 1:8-9; Hebrews 9:28; 1 Peter 1:5]

Oh, to Be Like Thee, Blessed Redeemer

Lyrics by Thomas O. Chisholm, 1897
Music by W. J. Kirkpatrick, 1897

Oh, to be like Thee! blessèd Redeemer,
This is my constant longing and prayer;
Gladly I’ll forfeit all of earth’s treasures,
Jesus, Thy perfect likeness to wear.

Oh, to be like Thee! full of compassion,
Loving, forgiving, tender and kind,
Helping the helpless, cheering the fainting,
Seeking the wandering sinner to find.

O to be like Thee! lowly in spirit,
Holy and harmless, patient and brave;
Meekly enduring cruel reproaches,
Willing to suffer others to save.

O to be like Thee! while I am pleading,
Pour out Thy Spirit, fill with Thy love;
Make me a temple meet for Thy dwelling,
Fit me for life and Heaven above.

Oh, to be like Thee! Oh, to be like Thee,
Blessèd Redeemer, pure as Thou art;
Come in Thy sweetness, come in Thy fullness;
Stamp Thine own image deep on my heart.

Let's look at the people that Kamala's VP pick surrounds himself with

Steve, you've been making bad arguments constructed from bad definitions of "totalitarian" for almost two weeks now.
Thats your opinion and I have given support for what I have said. You its actually not my arguement. The experts agree that totalitarianism can take several forms so this idea of bad definitions is a strawman because there is no specific definition apart from the broad tenents like centralisation.

Its ironic you say I emphasized centralisation as a tenet of totalitarianism when most of the definitions use centralisation as one of the main ingredients. Was it really that bad an arguement. I wonder if your playing games for the sake of undermining me rather than argueing the point.

I suggest you go and look at the video I linked to get educated on what exactly totalitarianism means in todays world. How it is cultivated and the principles involved.
It is my argument that you emphasized the wrong part because your understanding is poor. This is backed by many previous posts on this thread. (Which is not about the definition of totalitariansim anyway.)
Well its my arguement that I didn't. How do you know the other aspects I also mentioned is not about Totalitarianism. Can you show me they are not. I mentioned particular examples about how this current govenemnt is engaging in behaviour that can cultivate totalitarianism.

It wasn't totalitarian but the cultivation of totalitarianism. Your making logical fallacies all over the place. Including one of semantics. and strawmen to avoid the actual point I was making about the current administration.

Argue back that the examples I gave of abusing Rule of Law and government is not the type of behabiour that can cultivate totalitarianisn tendencies rather than going on about definitions.

The whole point is whether its totalitarianism or not the behaviour is abusing and controlling. Thats the point you need to address and get over definitions. Control and abuse is control and abuse no matter which way its served.
Semantics are unavoidable given your sloppy use of words. None of these argument ever had any real connection to the VP either.
Yes they did. They are not sloppy words. I explained that I was talking about the type of behaviour or thinking that cultivates totalitarianism. Its obviously not a totalitarian State at present. Your conflating what I said as being complete totalitarianism. You need to take a step back and look at what I am actually saying and not what you think I am saying.

In regards to semantics yes we need to understand the meanings. But as totalitarianism has a number of meanings we need to investigate than which is what I am doing. Your getting stuck on just the semantics.
It has nothing to do with the thread, because the things you describe are not happening.
Did you watch that video. You complain about the wrong definitions and understandings and yet you cannot even investigate the issue from the evidence I am linking. How about you view the evidence I linked first before making claims its not happening.

Like I have said several times now your making fallacies, strawmen and misrepresentations. Conflating that I am speaking about the current administration is totalitarian when I am saying they are displaying totalitarian behaviours and thinking in their policies and ideology for which I linked evidence.

Are the years of the tribulation hidden in scripture?

This 2008 documentary regarding the fertility rate of Muslim families reveals why Islam is today's fastest growing religion that will eventually seek to destroy the nation of Israel in the tribulation.

And I believe the 10 surrounding tribes who make a covenant against Israel in Psalms 83, is prophetic for the 7 year false covenant of peace between the Muslim nations and Israel that will be confirmed by the Antichrist when the tribulation begins at 83 years from 1948 in 2031, Daniel 9:27.
  • Psalms 83:4-5 They say, "Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more!" (5) For they conspire with one accord; against you they make a covenant--
  • Daniel 9:27 And he (the Antichrist) shall make a strong covenant with many (Muslim nations and Israel) for one week (7 years), and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator."

The "children of man" who are swept away as with a flood of God's wrath in Psalms 90, that's similar to God's judgment of fire for "ungodly" mankind in 2 Peter 3:1 to 2 Peter 3:8, is another possible clue for the tribulation years from 2031 to 2038.

And the "thousand years that are but as yesterday" in Psalms 90 that's mentioned again in 2 Peter 3:8, is implying the last year of the tribulation could take place at 90 years from 1948 in 2038.

Psalms 90:3-7 Psalms 90:3 You return man to dust and say, "Return, O children of man!" (4) For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night (in the tribulation). (5) You sweep them away as with a flood; they are like a dream, like grass that is renewed in the morning: (6) in the morning it flourishes and is renewed; in the evening it fades and withers. (7) For we are brought to an end by your anger; by your wrath we are dismayed.
  • 2 Peter 3:1 (2031) This is now the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved. In both of them I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder,
  • 2 Peter 3:2 (2032) that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles,
  • 2 Peter 3:3 (2033) knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires.
  • 2 Peter 3:4 (2034) They will say, "Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation."
  • 2 Peter 3:5 (2035) For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God,
  • 2 Peter 3:6 (2036) and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished.
  • 2 Peter 3:7 (2037) But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly (in the tribulation).
  • 2 Peter 3:8 (2038) But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

EWTN News/RealClear Opinion Research Poll: Spiritual Health of U.S. Catholics

Among Catholic voters, 52% believe in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, while 32% do not; 16% are unsure.

Belief in the Real Presence varies slightly according to gender, with 56% of men believing in it compared with 49% of women.

The findings of a new EWTN News/RealClear Opinion Research survey shed light on the spiritual health of adult Catholic U.S. citizens and reveal consistently concerning indicators of low Mass attendance, low belief in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, and sporadic (though growing) participation in the sacrament of confession.

The survey was conducted from Aug. 28–30 among 1,000 Catholics with a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points.

According to the survey, 31% of American Catholics attend Mass once a week, 16% once or twice a month, 32% a few times a year, and 9% once a year. Twelve percent attend Mass daily or more than once a week.

Frequent Mass attendance was significant among younger generations. Catholics under the age of 40 attend Mass more frequently than older Catholics, with 17% of 18- to 29-year-olds and 22% of 30- to 39-year-olds attending daily or more than once a week.

Continued below.
So it should be no real surprise that Catholics prefer Harris to Trump and Sonski gets nary a mention. Harris Leads Trump Among Catholic Voters, Per EWTN News/RealClear Opinion Research Poll

Is it a mortal sin any more to not go to Sunday mass for reasons other than being sick? Like wanting to read the newspaper or watch a movie or go to a sporting event or a hike or something? If it' still a mortal sin then 57% of Catholics are in mortal sin. But then there are the Catholics that NEVER attend mass, so it's worse than that. It must have stopped being a mortal sin because nobody speaks that way any more, especially priests.

Thinking that a good Catholic can't vote for Kamala and maybe also can't vote for Trump, you would think there would be some sort of a clamor for somebody acceptable to run? Thinking that a good Catholic recognizes Christ in the Eucharist, then where have all the good Catholics gone and where did these other people come from?

Heretics

That sounds about right. The secretive proceedings sound similar to the odd case of Ned Reidy that I was reading about. When I looked at the recent list of excommunications they were all for schism, usually for criticizing or denouncing Pope Francis.

Ha - you can do that. One of the best preachers I've ever heard.

Under Francis we have seen a rise in formal charges of schism, which is interesting.
The Reidy case differs because Reidy actually left the Catholic Church for that other entity, or at least that's what it looks like. Schism with associated heretical views. I think he should have been removed for schism AND multiple heresies. Treco had no idea he was leaving the Catholic Church. It wasn't his plan. He had no intention to be in schism. He had no intention to be in heresy either. He offered to recant any specific item he was shown in his homily that was heretical. But he was hastily shown the door. It was a summary excommunication.

Pope Francis is friend to all, unless he doesn't like you. Then you are on the outside wondering what just happened. He's a divisive guy and to remain Catholic we have to somehow be in communion with him and those others who are in communion with him. It strains my limits to be in communion with some of the creeps and destroyers pope Francis considers to be the 'in' folks.

Treco was by most accounts a good Catholic who intended to remain a good Catholic, willing to deny any false teaching they could show him he had entertained and willing to submit to his bishop if only his bishop would document what was in theological error in his one particular homily. That was a reasonable thing. He was not given such a list of quotes from his homily.

Now I would have worded that homily a bit differently. He was naive to think it would not get him in trouble as it was delivered. It was a good and necessary homily but a bit too much. What he said about the 'Spirit of Vatican II' was dead on.

Imaginary friend starz

This girl had a Imaginary friend with a doll… at 1st it was friendly.. and then afterwards it wanted her to do harmful things to herself from a check list not once in this movie was Jesus a discussion in prey or anything to over come the lies and darkness that this evil spirit offer. The people saw in the end of the movie it was evil.. but where is Jesus to over come the evil? I believe people in real life sell their souls to the devil for rich and fame not knowing when they die they sell their souls to the devil and will end up in hell forever away from god and torture in hell for all eternity. What is it in the world if you have money fame and all the world can buy and you end up separate from god? For all eternity being tortured in the lake of fire?

A Shroud for Our Skeptical Times

EDITORIAL: Did Jesus already know that 21st-century technology would be the only way to confirm his resurrected reality to an increasingly irreligious society?

Reports about recent scientific findings that appear to support the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin garnered widespread coverage in secular media outlets last month.

But none of those media accounts delved into this central question: Assuming the image visible on the fabric of the shroud really is that of the Crucified Christ — supernaturally imprinted there by Jesus himself, as he lay in the tomb between his crucifixion on Good Friday and his resurrection on the first Easter Sunday — why did the Son of God choose to leave behind this scientifically verifiable evidence of his death on the cross?

Sectarian bias

We are all Trinitarians here, united in our love for the Lord and in our joy to praise His name. We find delight in the scriptures, especially when the apostles bear witness to the deity of our Lord, Jesus Christ, teaching us that He is indeed God incarnate, and we rejoice. However, there are some who claim that our English Bible translations exhibit bias in certain passages. I would like to enumerate these passages, the so-called "proof texts."
PassageESV (evangelical protestant)ASV (protestant)NWT (Jehovah's witnesses)
John 1:1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.In [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.
John 1:18No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who is in the bosom [position] with the Father is the one that has explained him.
John 20:28Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!"Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.In answer Thomas said to him: "My Lord and my God!"
Acts 20:28Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit hath made you bishops, to feed the church of the Lord which he purchased with his own blood.Pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the holy spirit has appointed YOU overseers, to shepherd the congregation of God, which he purchased with the blood of his own [Son].
Romans 9:5To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen.whose are the fathers, and of whom is Christ as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.to whom the forefathers belong and from whom the Christ [sprang] according to the flesh: God, who is over all, [be] blessed forever. Amen.
Colossians 1:16-1916 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. (17) And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (18) And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. (19) For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,16 for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him; (17) and he is before all things, and in him all things consist. (18) And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. (19) For it was the good pleasure of the Father that in him should all the fulness dwell;16 because by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All [other] things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all [other] things and by means of him all [other] things were made to exist, 18 and he is the head of the body, the congregation. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that he might become the one who is first in all things; 19 because [God] saw good for all fullness to dwell in him,
Titus 2:13waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;while we wait for the happy hope and glorious manifestation of the great God and of [the] Saviour of us, Christ Jesus,
2Peter 1:1Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and the Saviour Jesus Christ:Simon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained a faith, held in equal privilege with ours, by the righteousness of our God and [the] Saviour Jesus Christ:
Rev 1:8"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."I am the Al'pha and the Ome'ga," says Jehovah God, "the One who is and who was and who is coming, the Almighty."
It is evident that the ESV consistently opts for Trinitarian translations, the ASV often selects them, whereas the NWT invariably avoids interpretations that could be perceived as attributing divinity to Jesus. It might be argued that the ESV exhibits a bias towards evangelical doctrine, the ASV maintains a more balanced approach, and the NWT displays a pronounced bias in favor of Jehovah's Witnesses' teachings.
No question that bias exists. But take a look at John 1:1 vs 1:18 in the NWT for JW's

1:1 "The Word Was a God"
1:18 "no man has seen God..."

Notice the JW - NWT did not use "a God" vs 18 -- the way they did in vs 1. Apparently they do know that the vs 1 edit that they did - is not reasonable.

Titus 2:13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, ESV

does not say "our great God and our Savior" but rather it says 'great God and Savior"

NASB 13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
It is the same with NKJV, KJV, Yount's Literal Trans,

When multiple translations (including Young's Literal) get it one way and are in some cases a committee of scholars from various denomination - then it is pretty safe to conclude they have it right.

JW scholarship is all-one-POV, affirming a rendering of the text that best fits their stated preference - their stated theology. Their own unique translation.
