  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Job Titles

The best promotions come from God. I would give this all to Him, as God likes justice. Sure you can stand up for yourself, but God does a much better job. Plus, your concern or motive is about a future job somewhere else so while that is common, but toward the present company it does not inspire much loyalty. I'd stick with it, let them know you are honored for more responsibility and look forward to possible title and pay raises. If you do not like the company or how they deal with you then of course leave as soon as possible. I don't think there is a perfect answer, but relying and leaning on God, submitting like He desires will show your character and make you a great manager.

#31 in Christian persecution, Oman

31Oman

Most Omanis practise a moderately conservative form of Islam, which tends to be more tolerant towards other beliefs – although there is almost no tolerance for family members who convert to Christianity, in part because of Oman’s strong clan mentality.
As part of the government’s tight control of public life, all religious organisations must be registered with the authorities. Expatriate Christians can enjoy considerable freedom in Oman, as long as they avoid sharing their faith with Muslims.
Converts from Islam to Christianity face pressure from family and society to recant their new faith. This can include physical, mental and emotional abuse, job loss, family expulsion, disinheritance and losing custody of their children. Most Omani converts therefore keep their new faith hidden.
Despite the freedom given to expatriates those who come from Muslim backgrounds can experience pressure from within their own national or ethnic communities. Meanwhile, church services are strictly monitored to record any political statements and if any Omani nationals are attending.

Meet Yacoub

“I woke up and thought that my children had switched on the light, but the light didn’t come from the lamp. I got confused. I looked and I saw light, no ceiling. I saw stars, I smelled incense. Then I saw a cloud growing and coming to our room, the cloud filled the room. And then I saw His face.”
Yacoub (name changed), a man from the Arabian Peninsula who met Jesus through a series of dreams.

What does Open Doors do to help?

Open Doors supports the Body of Christ on the Arabian Peninsula by organising prayer, distributing Scripture resources, and training believers and pastors.

Please pray

  • Pray that converts will be strengthened to withstand the pressure they experience for their faith.
  • Pray that the relative freedom that foreign Christians’ experience will expand to native Omanis.
  • Pray for a community of faith for migrant workers who experience abuse for becoming Christians.

Disagree LIVE on Infant Baptism

I liked Remnant Radio at first - protestants trying to re-connect with history it seemed. Then when I heard them mention how faith and politics really should basically be disconnected they lost me.

You can't support the pro-choice, pro-LGBTQ stuff - and follow Jesus.

Trump rejects Franklin Graham's request that he not curse in speeches

We're getting all these complaints about Trump's loose language, when the candidate running against him is a socialist!

So, let me see ...
What would be worse for America:
A president who sometimes uses harsh language or a president who is a socialist/marxist?

Hmm ...

Most pastors lack extensive secular work experience, survey finds

I found a cult , whose leader said he used to attend Hal Lundsey sermons. The dude fried his brains on LSD in the 60"s, never really held a job in his life except painting houses for a year , and guilt trips his congregation into tithing. He owns a Church building, 3 story house, drives new cars, and has ties to cartels.

In Fairytale Land

An Original Work / March 28, 2022

Once upon a time in fairytale land,
Grand masters laid out their careful plan.
Deception was what it was about,
Trick people and leave not one to doubt.

Tell tales as though they are the truth.
Be charming, as well as be uncouth.
Play acting as though what’s seen is real,
Sincerely fake what you cannot feel.

If doubted, create then an escape,
Blame others you show you truly hate,
Attack others who are innocent,
Keep at it, and do you not relent.

Gather people who will follow you,
Loyal followers who believe in you.
Pull wool right over all their eyes,
For you are a wolf now in disguise.

“For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds” (2 Corinthians 11:13-15 ESV).

Such Men are False Apostles

“And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.” (2 Corinthians 11:12-15 ESV)

The context is that of Paul addressing the Corinthian church regarding their disloyalty to their husband, Jesus Christ, because at least some (or many) of them were putting up with false teachers and a false gospel message. They were being led astray by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming, and their thoughts were being led astray from their sincere and pure devotion to Christ, or at least they were on the precipice of such a situation as this due to their tolerance of the false teachers among them.

Now these false teachers were evidently passing themselves off as apostles of Christ Jesus who were equal in stature with Paul and the other apostles. But the gospel that they were teaching was not the gospel of Jesus Christ, nor were they presenting a true biblical picture of who Jesus is and was. And it is the same today with so many false teachers within the gatherings of the church, at least here in America, who are teaching a distorted gospel and an altered character of God/Christ to make them more acceptable to the flesh.

So, the apostle Paul came to his own defense for the sake of the defense of the gospel and for the sake of those who were or who were potentially being led astray by these false teachers. And he let the people know plainly that these men were not servants of the Lord Jesus, but they were false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And he regarded them, thus, as servants of Satan who disguises himself as an angel of light. For they were disguising themselves as servants of righteousness.

And, again, we are faced with the same situation in the gatherings of the church (or what are falsely called “church”) here in America. Many who proclaim that they are servants of the Lord and ministers of the gospel are really deceitful workmen working for Satan (knowingly or unknowingly), who are teaching a gospel of man, and not of God. It may sound like truth, and they may be using the Scriptures, but most of them are taking the Scriptures out of context and are twisting them to say what is not truth.

Now, in order to deceive the people, they cleverly blend the truth and the lies together so that it sounds like truth, but it is twisted truth which is a lie. And some of them skillfully use the art of misimpressions (indirect lies) in order to deceive the people in a way which is difficult to prove. It sounds like truth, and there is truth thrown in with it, but it is distorted truth. But it sounds good, and it appeals to human flesh, and so the masses appear to be buying into the lies while they are rejecting the truth of the gospel.

So, what they are mostly teaching is that Jesus died to forgive us our sins so that we can go to heaven when we die. So all we have to do is make a verbal profession of faith in Jesus Christ and now all our sins are forgiven and heaven is guaranteed us when we die, but regardless of how we live. Many are even teaching against repentance and against obedience to the Lord, calling that “works salvation,” which they claim is not of God. And the masses are flocking to that message so they can live however they want.

But Jesus taught that if anyone would come after him he must deny self, take up his cross daily (die daily to sin) and follow (obey) him. So, if we hold on to our old lives (save them), we will lose them for eternity. But if we lose our lives (die to sin and to self), for the sake of Christ, and now we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, then we have the hope of eternal life. For Jesus died to free us from our addiction to sin so that we will now walk in obedience to his commands in holy living (see Luke 9:23-26).

So, if we believe the false gospel which tells us that no obedience and no repentance are required of us by God, but that our profession of faith in the Lord is enough to secure us heaven when we die, by his grace, then we should be aware that the Bible does not support that gospel. For if we remain walking in sin and not in obedience to our Lord in holy living, we will die in our sins. We will not have eternal life with God regardless of what our lips profess. But if we are walking in obedience to our Lord, by the grace of God, in his power, then heaven is promised us when we die.

Who Believes?

An Original Work / October 3, 2013
Based off Isaiah 53

Gospel message, who believes?
Jesus Christ died on a tree,
Saving us from all our sin,
So we might be cleansed within.

Had no beauty found in Him,
That we should desire Him.
Man of sorrows, suffering;
Crushed for our iniquities.

Surely He has borne our griefs;
From our sadness, brings relief.
Bore the stripes; forsaken, He,
So forgiven we might be.

We, like sheep, have gone astray,
Each of us turned his own way.
Jesus calls, “Repent today;
My commandments, now obey.”

Jesus said, to come to him,
We must die to all our sin.
Crucified with Him, we live,
Walking in His righteousness.

Suff’ring servants, we will be,
Taking His identity on us,
When confessing Him
As our Savior, Lord and King.

By Your Grace

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:8-10 ESV)

This song is a prayer to the Lord for him to be to me all I need in order for me to serve and obey him. On the day the Lord gave me this song to write, I was asking him to change my heart to be more like Jesus, and for him to guide my steps each day.

He changed my heart when I responded “Yes” to his invitation to make Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior of my life many years ago, but he continues to change my heart day by day, and to make me more like Him.

Like Paul, I am a work in progress. I don’t have it all together. I am not aware of any sin in my life, and I have sought the Lord concerning this, but I know I am not perfect, and I have not yet arrived. So, like Paul, I press on toward the goal of heaven, choosing to forget the things now past, and to believe God for what he has for me yet in the days which lie ahead. It is ONLY by the grace of God that I am who I am, and that I do what I do. If it were not for him, I don’t think I would even be here today.

By Your Grace

An Original Work / June 27, 2011

Speak Your words to my heart,
Let Your grace and love impart.
Be to me all I need
To love and serve Christ my King;
To love and serve Christ my King.
Change my heart; be like You;
Let me love and serve in truth.
Guide my steps ev’ry day,
As I bow my knees and pray;
As I bow my knees and pray.

Love You, Lord. You love me.
You died so that I’d go free
From my sin; pure within;
By Your grace I’m saved from sin;
By Your grace I’m saved from sin.
Invite You in my heart;
Now I have a brand new start.
Repented of my sin,
So that I’d be cleansed within;
So that I’d be cleansed within.

Live for You ev’ry day,
List’ning to the words you say.
Make You Lord of my heart;
Be Your witness, grace impart;
Be Your witness, grace impart.
Obey Your ev’ry word;
Do the things I’ve seen and heard.
Your word, Lord, in me burns,
While I wait for Your return;
While I wait for Your return.

The Eucharist in the Early Church

Meanwhile in the Roman Catholic Church sadly 69% of those who attend the Novus Ordo mass do not believe in the real presence, compared with only about 1% of those who attend the usus antiquor mass and other related traditional liturgies of the RCC.
My friend, I think you understandably got that one wrong. A previous poll had indicated most did not believe, a recent poll said 69% did believe.

A Divine Jealousy For You

“I wish you would bear with me in a little foolishness. Do bear with me! For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ. But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough.” (2 Corinthians 11:1-4 ESV)

When we believe in Jesus Christ, with genuine God-persuaded faith in him, we enter into a spiritual marriage covenant with Christ. He becomes our husband, and we become his bride (all believers in Christ, male and female). Now our lives belong to him and we are under his authority, and our will is to do his will for our lives. For by faith in him we are crucified with Christ in death to sin and raised with him to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness.

This marriage covenant is modeled after the Jewish marriage covenant of biblical times which may or may not be what they still do today. In those times the prospective bride and groom, via the agreement between their respective sets of parents, I believe, signed a covenant of marriage, and so they were regarded as married. But then the groom went and prepared a place for his bride, and while he was doing that she was to remain faithful to him. Then he came and got her and then their marriage was consummated.

It is the same as with our marriage to Christ. We are married to him, but the marriage has not yet been finalized (completed). Right now he is preparing a place for us, and one day he is going to return and he is going to take his faithful bride to be with him for eternity. And that is when our salvation will be completed, and not until then. And while we wait for him, God’s grace is instructing us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives, in obedience to our Lord.

[Matthew 9:14-17; Mark 2:18-22; Matthew 25:1-13; John 3:25-30; John 14:1-3; Ephesians 5:22-33; 2 Corinthians 11:1-4; Revelation 19:6-8; Revelation 21:2-4,9-11; Revelation 22:16-17; Titus 2:11-14; Romans 8:24; 1 Corinthians 1:18; 1 Corinthians 15:1-2; Hebrews 9:28; 1 Peter 1:5,9]

So, while we are waiting for our Lord’s return, we are to remain faithful to our Lord as his pure bride. We are not to go after “other lovers.” We are not to cheat on him. But we are to remain submissive to him as Lord of our lives, and we are to walk in obedience to his commands in holy living. And we are no longer to make sin our practice, but righteousness and obedience to God are to be what we practice, by the grace of God and in the power of God. For Jesus died to free us from our addiction to sin so we’d serve him.

So, the concern here, though, is that many who have believed in Jesus, or who have made verbal professions of faith in Christ, are now wandering from their pure devotion to the Lord and they are following after the gods of this world and of the flesh and after false teachings of humans in their deceitful scheming. Yet, because so many preachers today are indeed teaching another Jesus and a different gospel than the one that Paul taught, the masses seem to be flocking to that other Jesus and that different gospel.

For Paul and the other NT apostles, and Jesus Christ himself, taught that faith in Jesus Christ that is genuine God-persuaded and God-gifted faith results in us denying self, dying daily to sin, and following our Lord Jesus in obedience to his commands. For Jesus died that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. If, however, we continue walking in deliberate and habitual sin against our Lord, and against other humans, and not in obedience to our Lord, then we do not have the hope of salvation and eternal life with God.

[Matt 7:21-23; Lu 9:23-26; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14; Rom 12:1-2; 1 Co 6:9-10,19-20; 1 Co 10:1-22; 2 Co 5:10,15,21; Gal 5:16-24; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 2:8-10; Eph 4:17-32; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:1-17; Titus 2:11-14; 1 Jn 1:5-10; 1 Jn 2:3-6,24-25; 1 Jn 3:4-10; 1 Pet 2:24; Heb 3:1-19; Heb 4:1-13; Heb 10:23-31; Heb 12:1-2]

So don’t believe the charlatans and the “wolves in sheep’s clothing” who disguise themselves as servants of righteousness but who tell you lies. Don’t believe you can make a mere profession of faith in Jesus and then go on living in sin and not in obedience to his commands and that you will still be welcomed into God’s eternal kingdom. For Jesus said not everyone saying to him, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING the will of God. And many who profess his name will hear, “I never knew you! Depart from me you workers of lawlessness.” (see Matthew 7:21-23)
