  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

In Las Vegas, Harris promises to end tips for service industry employees, echoing Trump pledge

Is that what you think Congress is for? Translating verbose and complex bills into a simple form that a third grader could read? Granted that I'm sure we could both name people in politics that need that to happen. As has been said, there are some people who don't like to read a lot because their lips get tired. But that's not actually what Congress does.
well ... as the saying goes "the devil is in the details" ... many times they are not even given enough time to read the bills ... this is nonsense

Don't Discuss Religion or Politics!

On this forum?

On this forum?

Can you point him out? I don't know if the dark one can use the site without breaking the rules.

He doesn't?

Ahhh....is he getting close to silencing it?

Common ground can be nice....getting along can be nice....

But I agree that at a point of demarcation....a line gets crossed...and action must be taken or all is lost.

What do you do when you have more than one Jesus?

That's a very human thing....isn't it? To be understood and get others to agree?

Fortunately I haven't felt that love.

I'm not familiar with that test.

They had just 1 job...

I never understood that curse god gave the serpent. To crawl along his belly for the rest of his days? Did snakes walk at one point?

So Jesus is Adam and the church is Eve?

Isn't believing in Jesus and tolerating other religions an option?

Doctrines of Destruction would be a good book.

Feels like serving flesh happens every day in this country.

In fairness, if one is to value something after finding themselves absent of values....one could find far worse examples than Jesus.
question one . YES .
question two . YOU BET HE IS . HE IS THE ONE WHO SET these kind of rules in the first place . OH HE BE HERE all right .
Again YES . satan dont give a rip one if one believes in the god of the muslims or any other religoin .
The why . CAUSE HE THE AUTHOR of all them relgioins . HIMS gets the worship through the lie .
Is he getting close to silencing the true gospel . Well within christendom in large HE ALREADY HAS .
But the true lambs wont heed him , just like they didnt in the day and age of the first apostels and even
now a remnant within christendom will NEVER SHUT THEIR MOUTH and will DIE , be beaten , be ridiculed
persecuted , BUT WONT BUDGE . SO the answer the can he truly silence the gospel . WELL NOT FROM MY LIPS HE CANT
nor any other lamb . I am just so sad most have bought the devils version of what he calleth a gospel
You know like the social one , the all inclusive one , the broad path , the sin accepting gospel . THAT AINT JESUS folks , ITS THE DEVIL
in wool . and many have bought into his lie . And when i say many , BOY DO I MEAN MANY .
common ground with satan can FEEL nice good and loving . But what does GOD , CHRIST , or a lamb
have in common with darkness . THE ONLY THING i have in common with satan and his false religoins , WHICH BE
every other religoin , IS my old man , the flesh , the very thing that by the grace of GOD we SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD TOO .
You is gonna have to explain what the heck demarcation is .
That my friend is a real good question . REAL GOOD . you asked when do you have more than one JESUS .
Answer . YOU DONT . but satan sure can present another jesus . ANY jesus that contradicts THE BIBLICAL ONE , IS A LIE FROM SATAN .
SO LOVE ALL HIS WORDS , love all truth insipired in that bible . Cause any jesus that contradicts the truth , IT AINT JESUS .
though there be many DIFFERENT versions of JESUS out there . IT BE BIBLE TIME . GOOD QUESTION my friend . YOU ASKED A GOOD ONE .
To be understood is not a good thing if the person who desires to be understood wants to simply be accepted
for his or her sin . Being understood IS GOOD , IF SO BE WE WANT TO LEARN TO understand the things OF GOD .
Very good questions my friend .
And just how do you KNOW you have not felt that false love and that you are not under it already .
NOW this i ask not to accuse you but for you to just answer the question . HOW DO you truly know
you are not under the influence of that other version of love .
Yes adam and eve were given one simple commandment . But lets not be too harsh on them , HECK MOST OF CHRISTENDOM
breaks a ton of his words and commandments and sayings as does THE FALSE RELIGOINS TOO .
technically that was an allegory my friend . see the first adam is man , the second adam be the LORD from heaven .
Now when i said eve . that too was an allegorical example of the church
as eve was pulled from the man as he slept , SO too was the church born of CHRIST , and he too was in the earth three days .
SO its an allegorical example i gave when i called the church eve . Just a figure of speech my dear friend .
The serpent . oh it was not a physical snake at all . that too is a representation my friend . as serpent
is often used to describe something evil . it dont always mean SNAKE at all . but thanks for asking anyway .
tolerating . can one believe in JESUS and tolerate other relgions . YES , BUT NOT THE WAY this generation
tries and make tolerating seem .
Example . FIND COMMON ground , just get along , etc . BIG TIME DEAD WRONG .
as for me i am kind to all , BUT BELIEVE YOU ME them false religoins will hear about the dire need to repent and beleive on JESUS

John 6:40 - I shall resurrect/be raising him TO THE last day (of this age)...

Peace in Christ.

Those who will “endure” (meaning – to remain under) unto the end (the end of this age) shall be saved.

We are to remain ("endure) in this earth in this mortal body for the remainder of this age by having an age-lasting life (aka “eternal life”).

Mat 24:13-14 KJV
(13) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Our job while we mortally endure to the end of this age: to preach to this world (unto all nations) the good news of the kingdom which is the “Great Commission”.

(14) And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

The kingdoms of this world….all of man’s governments….will become the kingdom of our Lord and His Christ.....whether they will like that or not. They have no choice.

Rev 11:15 KJV
(15) And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

By having an age-lasting life, we can then truly fulfill the “great commission”. He shall rule in this earth until He puts down all rule and all authority and power. We rule with Him.

1Co 15:24-25 KJV
(24) Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

(25) For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

All power is given unto Him in heaven and in earth. The nations are to hear that. They are to be taught that. Jesus is the Ruler of this earth.

He is the Ruler and the nations are to hear that and be taught to observe all the things that He commands us.

Mat 28:18-20 KJV
(18) And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
(19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

He is with us even unto the end of the AGE while we preach to the nations of this world His government which shall replace all of man's governments.

(20) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world (AGE). Amen.

We who will hear and believe in what the Son teaches us shall have an age-lasting life. He will be raising us up (keep us standing here in this earth) TO the last day of this age.

John 6:
(40) And this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone which sees the Son, and believes on him, may have age-lasting life: and I will be raising him up TO the last day.

40 τοῦτο (This) γάρ (for) ἐστιν (is) τὸ (the) θέλημα(will)τοῦ(of the)πατρός(Father)μου(of me)ἵνα(in order that)πᾶς(everyone)ὁ(the)θεωρῶν(beholding)τὸν(the)υἱὸν(Son)καὶ(and)πιστεύων(believing)εἰς(into)αὐτὸν(him)ἔχῃ(may have)ζωὴν(life),αἰώνιον,(everlasting)καὶ(and) ἀναστήσω (I shall resurrect) αὐτὸν (him) ἐγὼ (I) τῇ (to the) ἐσχάτῃ (last) ἡμέρᾳ. (day.)

He is come as a light into the world. He comes to give us an understanding…the knowledge. He opens up the Scriptures to our minds. And whosoever believes on Him shall not abide in darkness. They will not behave with the works of darkness towards what they hear but will behave as children of light.

Joh 12:44-48 KJV
(44) Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
(45) And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
(46) I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
(47) And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

(48) He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

This the Bread that comes DOWN out of the Heaven. This is the knowledge that comes from there and into this world…and everyone who shall “eat” of it shall live….into the age. They will not mortally perish from this earth but shall have an age-lasting life and will be able to truly preach to the nations of this world.

Young's Literal Translation

John 6:
57 ‘According as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, he also who is eating me, even that one shall live because of me;

58 this is the bread that came down out of the heaven; not as your fathers did eat the manna, and died; he who is eating this bread shall live — to the age.’

Again, He will be raising us up TO the last day of this age.

John 6:54
(54) Whoso eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has age-lasting life; and I will be raising him up TO the last day.

William Lane Craig vs. Pentecostals & Charismatics on the doctrine of the Holy Spirit

for all to consider

William Lane Craig is correct, Baptism of the Holy Spirit occurs at conversion. The idea of it being a secondary experience is old school Pentecostal teaching which has been widely refuted by bible scholars including Pentecostalism's own chief theologian Gordon Fee, as well as the most respected charismatic theologian Wayne Grudem.

I can quote expositions from them both if needed.
the expression some use "baptism OF the Holy Ghost" is not correct. Believers are baptized WITH the Holy Ghost then they can be moved by the Holy Ghost and do things in the Holy Ghost etc. As scripture clearly says. This does affect some understanding.

consider your words here

“I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.” (Mark 1: 8 KJV)

“Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled
with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,” (Acts 13:9 KJV)

“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear:
he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:” (Matthew 3:11 KJV)

“And they were all filled
with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

to put some more considerations into this, some were filled with the Holy Ghost before pentecost as we read,

“And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,” (Luke 1:67 KJV)

“For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be
filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.”

The Spirit baptizes believers into Christ or into the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13,) and then Jesus will be in them formed in them and He will then baptize them with the holy Ghost. They first have to have Jesus and know the name of Jesus to be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

“And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.”

First Jesus must be in men, in that sense they drank of him or the water of life. Then he will empower them and fill them with the Holy Ghost, this will be like a fountain of water flowing FROM WITHIN THEM. So it seems that they must first have Christ in them and had drank of that water of life then the water will bubble forth like a fountain with Jesus baptizes them with the Holy Ghost We see a hint of this here. Also the apostles were already saved and believers and had Christ in them before pentecost as many others did as well. Scripture can be shown to prove this in many places.

consider

"In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

So notice that they believed on him, then they would receive...the believing part is the drinking the water.the flow from within is where Jesus baptizes with the Holy Ghost as i see in scripture.

In a certain aspect they have the Spirit when they are saved but the power and filling with the Hoy Ghost is given to those that obey the gospel and faith. This is not man flesh works of obedience but the obedience of faith in Christ.

“And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.” (Acts 5:32 KJV)

and in Acts 8 they already believed the gospel and were saved (Acts 8:5-12 KJV) then we read

“Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:” (Acts 8:

Pope Francis reflects with wonder on 'the miracle of the Eucharist'

Pope Francis said Sunday that the Eucharist is a “miracle” in which Jesus nourishes us with his life and satisfies the hunger in our hearts.

“All of us need the Eucharist,” Pope Francis said in his Angelus address on Aug. 18.

“The heavenly bread, which comes from the Father, is the Son made flesh for us. This food is more than necessary because it satisfies the hunger for hope, the hunger for truth, and the hunger for salvation that we all feel not in our stomachs, but in our hearts.”

Speaking from the window of the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace, the pope encouraged people to reflect with “wonder and gratitude” on the “miracle of the Eucharist” in which Jesus “makes Himself present for us and with us.”

“The bread from heaven is a gift that exceeds all expectations,” the pope said.

“Jesus takes care of the greatest need: He saves us, nourishing our lives with His, forever. Thanks to Him, we can live in communion with God and among ourselves.”

Harris appoints Muslim outreach chief with contentious views on Israel

Probably not. She also is launching ‘Evangelicals for Harris’ and ‘Catholics for Harris’. Maybe considering ‘Muslims for Harris’ she will also have ‘Jews for Harris’. I bet she doesn’t need to form ‘Abortionists for Harris’ or ‘Mainstream liberal Christians for Harris’ or ‘LGBTQ for Harris’. It’s all identity politics.

Yeesh. People must be getting tired of that.

Trump upset with campaign handlers

It's the least she can do, now that he's going to have to come up with some mean names for her.
Trump's advisors want him to talk about his economic policy, but he much prefers mockery and invective. He was still criticising her looks and her 'crazy' laugh' at yesterday's rally.

OPINION 75 Years After George Orwell’s ‘1984,’ We Are Awash In Newspeak And Doublethink

The Book of Genesis explains that God created the universe by His word alone, speaking the world into existence. As we read throughout the first chapter of Genesis, “God said, ‘Let there be … ‘” And as God reflected on the six days of creation, He looked upon his work, and “found it very good.”

The Gospel of St. John further explains that the Word through and by which the Father created the world is Christ, Himself. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be” (Jn 1:1-3a). The Greek word St. John uses is “logos,” which can be translated “reason” as well as “word.” By using the word “logos” to explain that the Father created the world by and through the Word, St. John is telling us that the universe is rational and true. Jesus, the eternal Logos through which the world was created, is “the way, the truth, and the life” (Jn 14:6).

From these first chapters of Genesis and the Gospel of John we discern that the world is formed and permeated by the Logos — the very reason and truth of God. This is another way of saying that the world is built upon and sustained by rational communication — the continual utterance of the Divine Word. Where truth is found, the Logos of God is found. Of course, this implies that falsehood is the absence of goodness and reason. Truth is necessary for an authentic, rational human community. Where truth fails, irrationality reigns, and public life is reduced to the imposition of violence by those who control the falsehood.

Continued below.
The seriousness of the matter is emphasized in the Greek word St. James chose to illustrate it in those days:
Jas 1:7 For that person must not suppose that a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways, will receive anything from the Lord.
Jas 4:8 Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you men of double mind.

In both cases, the Greek word used is δίψυχος - dipsuchos - which can be translated "two-souled" - which I understand as lovers of both God and the world in the same heart - the impossible "compromise" that many sadly want to have. The word is used in the NT only these two times.

Biden Energy Department’s claim it replenished Strategic Petroleum Reserve misleading, expert says

Biden drained 40% of the nation's energy stockpiles, more than 250 million barrels of oil. How can the Department of Energy claim that only 40 million barrels it has purchased would refill it?
The government can tell you anything and people believe them, sad how many have blind trust in what the govt. says or are just plain lazy. Not good for the USA if an emergency happens.

Minor oral bleeding.

Without other symptoms, it's probably superficial - you may have brushed too hard earlier in the day and the gums were still tender, you may have a mild case of gingivitis (a five minute job for any dentist, or they may do nothing at all and a recommend a new hygiene protocol), or it's just "one of this things" - in any case, I doubt it's much to worry about.

If you're interested in learning more, give this guy a watch. I stumbled upon his channel when I was preparing for a pair of tooth extractions last year:

Matthew Hopkins - Witchfinder - how did he get away with it?

From Wikipedia -

"Matthew Hopkins (c. 1620 – 12 August 1647) was an English witch-hunter whose career flourished during the English Civil War. He was mainly active in East Anglia and claimed to hold the office of Witchfinder General, although that title was never bestowed by Parliament.

The son of a Puritan minister, Hopkins began his career as a witch-finder in March 1644 and lasted until his retirement in 1647. Hopkins and his colleague John Stearne sent more accused people to be hanged for witchcraft than all the other witch-hunters in England of the previous 160 years, and were solely responsible for the increase in witch trials during those years."

Now maybe in the febrile atmosphere of a civil war, excesses happen. But why did his unbiblical practices like pricking, looking for the Devil's Mark and non-bleeding, sleep deprivation, the swimming test, continue even under an evangelical, revivalist parliament and in an area of strongest puritan influence?
Eventually he was bravely opposed by John Gaule, vicar of Great Staughton and the Hopkin's carnage finished in 1647.

I am asking because I have noticed in the times of revival and evangelical renewal or even in earnest bible studies that I have experienced, there do seem to be cruel excesses that are winked at and it takes time for leaders with sufficient integrity to address them.

The Grim Reaper

Dancing, dancing in the wind,
Flickering, flickering, idols grim.
Movies, movies, what’s in store?
The grim reaper at your door.

Trickery, trickery, that’s their way,
So in hopes that you they’d sway.
Horrid, horrid, all aghast!
Messages, messages, out they blast!

Pointless, pointless, all’s a game,
So they can put you to shame.
Baffle, baffle, mystify.
Complicated? It’s a lie!

Sidetrack, sidetrack, entertain.
What’s at work and Who’s to gain?
Falsehood, falsehood, cooked with truth,
Sort through, sort through all their tools.

Doubtful, doubtful, all confuse,
For, you see, it’s all a ruse.
This side, that side – all the same.
So you don’t know who to blame.

Increase, increase, worse and worse,
Second verse same as the first.
Tie them up, keep off their feet.
So the lies they not defeat.

Invent, invent, fabricate,
Massive effort up to date.
Months and months, more of the same,
No one, really, takes the blame.

Mixture, mixture, truth and lies,
Distrust, distrust many sides.
Nonsense, nonsense, who’s to tell
True or false? It’s all a spell.

“Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.” Colossians 3:5 ESV

“Abstain from every form of evil.” 1 Thessalonians 5:22 ESV

“Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you, and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. For not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.” 2 Thessalonians 3:1-3 ESV

Examine Yourselves, Test Yourselves 2

“Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test! I hope you will find out that we have not failed the test. But we pray to God that you may not do wrong—not that we may appear to have met the test, but that you may do what is right, though we may seem to have failed. For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth. For we are glad when we are weak and you are strong. Your restoration is what we pray for. For this reason I write these things while I am away from you, that when I come I may not have to be severe in my use of the authority that the Lord has given me for building up and not for tearing down.” (2 Corinthians 13:5-10 ESV)

In the last devotion, which was part 1 of this devotion, the discussion revolved around the sinful condition of some of the people within the gatherings of the church in the city of Corinth. There were people among them professing faith in Jesus Christ who were living in sin. And sexual immorality and sensuality appeared to be the most predominant of the sins that were regularly being practiced, but they also included such sins as anger, hostility, slander, gossip, and disorder, among others.

So, one of the purposes of this letter to the Corinthian church was to correct these sinful situations and to bring the people who were sinning to genuine repentance and changed hearts and/or to exercise church discipline against them. For the apostle Paul took such situations as these extremely seriously, like he did in the situation with the man who was in an incestual relationship with his father’s wife, and the church was proud rather than doing anything to correct the man and to free the church of that growing evil influence.

And following his discussion with them in the area of discussing the habitual and deliberate sinning that was going on among them, he then encouraged them to examine themselves to see whether or not they were truly in the faith. For the Scriptures teach us that if we claim to be in fellowship with God but while we walk in sin, we are liars. And if we claim to know God but while we do not obey his commandments (New Covenant), in practice, we are liars. And if sin is what we practice, we will not inherit eternal life.

[1 John 1:5-10; 1 John 2:3-6; 1 John 3:4-10; Galatians 5:16-21]

So, it is not enough to just profess with our lips that we believe in Jesus Christ, but we must live as though we really believe in him. For true belief is persuasion of God. And we are persuaded of God in the Scriptures as to his righteousness and holiness, and of our sinfulness, and of our need to die with Christ to sin and to be raised with him to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as slaves to God and his righteousness. And true faith in God is obedience to God, and disobedience is unbelief.

[Matthew 7:21-23; Luke 9:23-26; John 1:12-13; John 6:44; Acts 26:18; Romans 1:18-32; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:17-32; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-13; Hebrews 10:23-31; Hebrews 12:1-2]

And this is critical that we do this self-examination because we have so many people today, at least here in America, who profess faith in Jesus Christ with their lips but whose hearts are far from him. They are still living for the sinful pleasures of the flesh, still charting their own life course, still doing whatever it is they want to do with their lives without regard for God and for what he wants for their lives, and without regard for the reality of what Jesus did in putting our sins to death with him on that cross.

For Jesus Christ gave his life up for us on that cross so that we will die to sin and live to his righteousness. He died on that cross so we will now live for him and no longer for ourselves. And he shed his blood for us to buy us back for God (to redeem us) out of our lives of slavery to sin so that we will now honor God with our bodies and so that we will now serve him with our lives in walks of obedience to his commands. So if sin is what we practice (obey), it will lead to death. But obedience to God ends in eternal life with God.

[1 Peter 2:24; 2 Corinthians 5:15; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Romans 6:1-23]

Now Paul and Timothy modeled for us what the Christian life should look like. For Paul said, “For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth.” Amen! And this was not saying that they were absolutely perfect in everything that they did and said, but that they modeled for us what the Christian life should look like. And it requires that we deny self and die daily to sin and that we follow our Lord Jesus in obedience to his commands in holy living, in practice, and that we no longer walk in deliberate sin.

Made idols, and they worshipped them;
So empty, they will ne’er fulfill.

Those who turn away from You will be shamed;
The Spring of Living Water left behind.

Living Water satisfies.

The thirsty, let them come and drink;
Believe in Jesus as their King;
The gift of Jesus given them,
So they will never thirst again.

Indeed, the Living Water flows within.
It springs up like a fountain cleansing sin.
Eternal life in heaven promised them.

Living Water glorifies.

Oh people, won’t you come to Him?
Obey Him and repent of sin.
Let Jesus come and live within.
Surrender all your life to Him.

My people, won’t you turn your hearts to Me?
Forsake your idols and then you’ll be free.
Won’t you come now to Me on bended knee?

Living Water sanctifies.

Examine Yourselves, Test Yourselves 1

“This is the third time I am coming to you. Every charge must be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. I warned those who sinned before and all the others, and I warn them now while absent, as I did when present on my second visit, that if I come again I will not spare them— since you seek proof that Christ is speaking in me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you. For he was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but in dealing with you we will live with him by the power of God.” (2 Corinthians 13:1-4 ESV)

Sexual immorality was plaguing the church in Corinth. Not everyone was engaged in sexual immorality, but it appears that many were. And so it is today, at least in America, it is. But it appears that we are severely lacking in men like Paul who will actually take the appropriate action necessary in order to put a halt to what is spreading rapidly like gangrene all throughout the body of Christ and all throughout the gatherings of what are at least called “the church.” For many pastors are among the sexually addicted.

That wasn’t the only sin plaguing the church in Corinth, but it appeared to be the predominant one, as it is also today, in America. And the situation that we are in today is, like I said, the lack of true men of God who are walking by the Spirit and who are not walking by the flesh, and who meet the biblical and spiritual qualifications of elder (pastor, overseer) or deacon. So many of these men are chosen according to their academic qualifications and/or by their personalities rather than by their spiritual qualifications.

And so sexual immorality and sexual addiction of all sorts are running rampant within the gatherings of the church (or within the false “church”). It is like a huge rainstorm pouring down into the gatherings of the church and falling down on the people, and so many of them are yielding to the storm and they are embracing it and even believing that God’s forgiveness of sins permits them to continue living in sin without feelings of guilt and without remorse. But few are exercising biblical discipline in these matters.

Thus, the self-indulgent and the intoxicated to sin, especially to sexual sin, are often more than not being coddled in their sins rather than disciplined. Some church gatherings may provide support groups for them, but these groups are not usually operated according to the Scriptures but according to humanistic philosophy and modern psychology. And so the addicted can continue on in their addictions without any kind of church discipline. But many church congregations don’t deal with the situation at all.

But the Bible teaches us that these types of sins come from what is stored up in our hearts. So, if we are storing up hatred, anger, bitterness, resentment, idolatry, unforgiveness, and lust, etc. then out of the heart will come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, and slander, etc. And out of the heart will come hateful and spiteful remarks to others, or about them to other people, and hateful and spiteful actions against those who the haters have been convinced are their enemies.

And out of hate and bitterness and anger and resentment some people will vent to others or they will commit sinful acts against others as their way of venting and expressing their anger and bitterness which has been welling up inside of them and which occasionally comes out in a loud outburst of some kind, either verbally or via some type of sinful and get-even kind of response. And when a man or a woman sins sexually against his or her spouse, that is hate, which comes from what is stored up within the heart.

But many of these sinfully and sexually addicted are professers of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and as Savior of their lives, convinced that heaven is secured for them when they die. Yet, according to the Scriptures, if we walk in sin, making sin our practice, and if righteousness and godliness and moral purity and walks of obedience to our Lord are not what we practice, then we don’t know God, we are not born of God, but we are of the devil, and we will not have eternal life with God unless we repent and we obey our Lord.

Now this is not saying that any of us will be absolutely perfect in this life and that we will never fail (see 1 John 2:1-2), but that if sin is our practice, our lifestyle, what we keep going back to over and over again, like a dog returns to its vomit, and if that is still where we are, recycling the same old sinful patterns of behaviors over again without true repentance, without genuine change, because the heart has not changed, and so we continue to hate and sin in anger, then we are not in genuine relationship with Christ.

Many of these addicted to sin will try to cover up their addiction by putting on a show of righteousness, as though they are truly following the Lord with their lives, but it is all fakery. For it is for the purpose to mask what they are really doing so that no one will know, and no one will suspect that they are entrapped in sin’s deceitfulness. And they are those who, thus, are deserters of the true faith and of righteousness and holiness and moral purity and obedience to God, and of faithfulness to God and to spouse.

And the bottom line in all of this is that these people are really angry with God and so they are venting their anger via their sinful practices. And there may be many reasons they are angry with God, but somewhere along the line they believed they got a “raw deal” and that somehow they were cheated of something and so they store up anger toward God in their hearts because he didn’t do for them what they thought he ought to do. And they store up that same anger against other humans who they believe wronged them in one way or another, whether true or not. And that pours out.

So, if that is where you are, venting your anger against God and/or against other humans via your sinful practices, please know that God’s forgiveness of sins does not cover deliberate and habitual sin. For if sin is what we practice, we will die in our sins. We will not have eternal life with God regardless of what our lips profess or we feel that we believe in our hearts. For what we truly believe is what will come out in our actions and in how we treat God and in how we treat other humans.

My Sheep

An Original Work / June 24, 2012
Based off John 10:1-30 NIV

My sheep hear me. They know me.
They listen to my voice and obey.
I call them and lead them.
They know my voice, so they follow me.
They will never follow strangers.
They will run away from them.
The voice of a stranger they know not;
They do not follow him.

So, I tell you the truth that
I am the gate, so you enter in.
Whoever does enter
Will find forgiveness and will be saved.
Nonetheless whoever enters
Not by the gate; other way,
He is the thief and a robber.
Listen not, the sheep to him.

Oh, I am the Good Shepherd,
Who laid his own life down for the sheep.
I know them. They know me.
They will live with me eternally.
The thief only comes to steal and
Kill and to destroy the church.
I have come to give you life that
You may have it to the full…

They know my voice, so they follow me.

Awaken the Dawn

Psalm 57 is a psalm of lament. The psalmist experienced some type of disaster in his life which engulfed him like a violent storm. He was hotly pursued by his enemies who, to him, were like lions or ravenous beasts just waiting to devour him with their sharp tongues. They tried to trip him up and to cause him to fall, and this distressed him greatly.

So, he called on the Lord for mercy, and he chose to seek God’s protection. He acknowledged God’s divine sovereignty over his life, and he trusted in God’s love and faithfulness to his servants who put their faith and trust in him.

Even though “all hell” was breaking loose all around him, still he chose to be steadfast in heart and mind by trusting in the Lord, and by choosing to not give way to the enemy, but rather to rise before dawn (to awaken the dawn) in order to give praise to God.

Awaken the Dawn

An Original Work / January 15, 2013
Based off Psalm 57 (NIV 1984)

O my God, have mercy on me!
In the Lord, my soul takes refuge.
In the shadow of Your wings, Lord,
I find shelter till the storms pass.
I cry out to my God Most High.
He fulfills His purpose for me.
He sent His Son to die for me,
So I could be saved.

I am in the midst of lions;
Men whose teeth are spears and arrows;
Whose tongues are sharp; words accusing.
They spread a net, my feet to catch.
They dug a pit, in hopes I’d fall.
O God, be exalted o’er all.
Let Your glory shine to all men,
So they may be saved.

Steadfast is my heart, O my God;
I will sing of all Your wonders.
Awake, my soul! Sing praise to God!
Early I will rise and praise Him!
I’ll praise God among the nations;
I will sing among the peoples.
God’s love reaches to the heavens,
So we may be saved.

Are You Being Taken Advantage Of?

“Here for the third time I am ready to come to you. And I will not be a burden, for I seek not what is yours but you. For children are not obligated to save up for their parents, but parents for their children. I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you more, am I to be loved less? But granting that I myself did not burden you, I was crafty, you say, and got the better of you by deceit. Did I take advantage of you through any of those whom I sent to you? I urged Titus to go, and sent the brother with him. Did Titus take advantage of you? Did we not act in the same spirit? Did we not take the same steps?
“Have you been thinking all along that we have been defending ourselves to you? It is in the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ, and all for your upbuilding, beloved. For I fear that perhaps when I come I may find you not as I wish, and that you may find me not as you wish—that perhaps there may be quarreling, jealousy, anger, hostility, slander, gossip, conceit, and disorder. I fear that when I come again my God may humble me before you, and I may have to mourn over many of those who sinned earlier and have not repented of the impurity, sexual immorality, and sensuality that they have practiced.” (2 Corinthians 12:14-21 ESV)

The context here, which really begins in chapter 10 of 2 Corinthians, is that of false apostles (false teachers, false preachers) who were preaching a Jesus other than the Jesus that Paul and the other NT apostles taught, and who were preaching a gospel different from the one that they taught and that the people had initially accepted. And these false apostles were not only teaching a false Christ and a false gospel, but they were bringing the true apostles into disrepute so that Paul was forced into having to defend himself.

So they were the ones taking advantage of the people, not Paul and not the other NT apostles who were called of God. For Paul was a man of God and a man of integrity who did and said what he did and said as carried along by the Holy Spirit and out of sincere concern and love, like the love of a parent, for the believers in Christ in Corinth. And he was willing even to put up with persecution and false accusations against himself in order to get the message of the gospel out to the people for the salvation of their souls.

And we are faced with a similar situation today within the gatherings of the church (or what are falsely being called “churches”). For we have many false apostles, prophets, pastors, and teachers within the gatherings of these said “churches” who are promoting a distorted and altered Jesus and his gospel of salvation. And they are taking advantage of the church by persuading them to believe the lies and to reject the truth and to partner with them in their false church and in their false Jesus and with their false gospel.

Now they mask the truth of what they are presenting to the people by calling it something other than what it truly is. They claim that they are teaching the true Jesus and the true gospel of salvation, but what they are really teaching is a very distorted Jesus and altered gospel message. But they call it “love” when it is truly “lust” disguised as love, for they are not looking out for the interests of others but for their own interests, to build their own earthly and worldly kingdoms which are of the flesh.

So they distort the truth of the gospel by taking Scriptures out of their context to make them say what they do not say if taught in the appropriate context. They do teach Christ crucified, dead, buried, and risen again for the sins of the entire world, but they teach a cheapened form of God’s grace which does not require death to sin and living to God and to his righteousness in obedience to his commands. And they belittle those who do teach the necessity of death to sin and walking in obedience to the Lord.

But they sound like they are all “love” and “kindness” in what they teach while they present those of us who teach the truth of the gospel as those who are teaching “works salvation” or “Lordship salvation,” i.e. they accuse us of being harsh and unloving and of being judgmental and not full of grace, but while the opposite is true, for we are teaching the true grace of God while what they are teaching is a false grace which makes no requirements for its adherents to die to their sins and to obey the Lord.

So what they are teaching is that we can “believe” (not usually biblically defined) in Jesus, have all our sins forgiven, and be on our way to heaven, but regardless of how we live our lives from that moment forward. For it is all in the profession of faith where they guarantee their adherents forgiveness of all sins and eternal life with God. But Jesus said that not everyone saying to him, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God the Father (Matthew 7:21-23).

So, we have many professers of faith in Jesus Christ who are still living for the flesh, still walking in deliberate and habitual sin, still doing what they want to do with their lives while believing heaven is secured for them for when they die. But Jesus said if we are going to come after him we must deny self, die daily to sin, and follow him in obedience. For if we hold on to our lives of sin, we will lose them for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, and obey our Lord, then we have the hope of heaven (Luke 9:23-26).

Thus, we have “churches” full of people of the flesh who are claiming Jesus as their Savior while they continue in sinful practices such as lying, cheating, stealing, committing adultery, slander, gossip, fighting amongst themselves, and sexual immorality and sensuality, etc., for they are buying into this cheap grace gospel, which is not the gospel of the Scriptures. But please know that if sin is what we practice, and not righteousness, and not obedience to our Lord, that we will not inherit eternal life with God.

For the grace of God, which is bringing us salvation, is training us to renounce (say “No!” to) ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives while we wait for our Lord’s return. And Jesus died on that cross to put our sins to death with him so we will now die with him to sin, not just once but daily, and so that we will follow him in obedience to his commands in holy living, by the grace of God, in the power of God, and for the glory and praise of God (Titus 2:11-14; Romans 6:1-23).

For Our Nation

An Original Work / September 11, 2012

Bombs are bursting. Night is falling.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Trust Him with your life today.
Make Him your Lord and your Savior.
Turn from your sin. Follow Jesus.
He will forgive you of your sin;
Cleanse your heart, made new within.

Men betraying: Our trust fraying.
On our knees to God we’re praying,
Seeking God to give us answers
That are only found in Him.
God is sovereign over all things.
Nothing from His mind escaping.
He has all things under His command,
And will work all for good.

Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.

Men deceiving: We’re believing
In our Lord, and interceding
For our nation and its people
To obey their God today.
He is our hope for our future.
For our wounds He offers suture.
He is all we need for this life.
Trust Him with your life today.

Don’t Buy The Hype: Kamala Has BIG Problems

You have no way to refute what I said, really?
You say that there may be some turnover in staff and I'll accept that. I've worked in enough companies to know that people come and go on a very regular basis. If you want to say it's excessive, then I'll ask 'In comparison to what?'

And you don't want to go there.
