  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Popstar angers conservatives after claiming families with kids are ‘in Hell’

'Fact-check: Statistically, the happiest women in America are married and have children,' one group shot back

Popstar Chappell Roan, known for recent hits like "Pink Pony Club" and "Good Luck, Babe!" faced backlash from pro-family commentators after she suggested that all of her friends with young children are leading joyless lives.

On the "Call Her Daddy" podcast last week, Roan, was asked about still being close with friends in her Midwestern hometown, acknowledging they have "very different lives."

"A lot of them are married with children, and they have their own houses, and to me, I’m like, I don’t know when that’s going to happen for me. I don’t know when that’s realistic, if ever," she said.

Host Alex Cooper asked if being married with kids was something she wanted, and Roan replied she wasn’t sure.

Leader of France's Far Right Party, Forbidden to Run in Next Election

As a result of being convicted of financial fraud, Marie Le Pen (leader of the far right
political party if France), has been legally prohibited from runnning in the next
election for prime minister in France.

Curiously, Le Pen, in the past, has expressed the opinion that politicians who
engage in financial fraud SHOULD BE BARRED FROM POLITICS, I suppose that
she meant any politician BUT HERSELF.

Although being barred from politics, IS within the French legal punishments for
financial fraud, Le Pen is claiming that the ruling was motivated by "politics".
This seems suspiciously like a plicy of "Apply the rule of law to my political
opponents, but NOT to me."

Some teachings of Herbert W Armstrong

Armstrong founded the Worldwide Church of God (WCG) in the 1930s as the Radio Church of God,

Wiki:

In this book, Armstrong makes the claim that the peoples of the United States, the British Commonwealth nations, and the nations of Northwestern Europe are descendants of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel.[33] This belief, called British Israelism, formed the central basis of the theology of the Worldwide Church of God.[34]
There is no biblical basis for that.

Resting on the Sabbath day is thus commanded for all mankind and should be kept holy from Friday sunset to sunset on Saturday.[53] The Worldwide Church of God conducted its worship Services during that period, accordingly, on Saturdays. Armstrong further explained that Christ is "Lord of the Sabbath" (Mt. 12:8) for it is He who 'made' it for mankind, thus it is a "blessing... to be ENJOYED, to spiritually REFRESH, in blessed fellowship and communion with CHRIST!"[54] He believed that the observance of Sunday as the "Lord's Day" was a papal and/or satanic corruption introduced without authority from God or the Bible.[55]
See my take on the weekly Sabbaths.

Here's God's instruction to YOU, today, if you are ill. If we are to live by every Word of God, we should obey this Scripture. God does not say call your family physician...He does not say, call the doctors and let them give medicines and drugs, and God will cause the medicines and drugs and dope to cure you.... Instead God says call GOD'S MINISTERS. And let them PRAY, anointing with oil (the type and symbol of the Holy Spirit). Then GOD PROMISES He will HEAL YOU![103]
Supernatural healing cannot be systematized. Sometimes, God heals by supernatural means to demonstrate a sign. We can also seek physicians.

Armstrong died in 1986. Today, WCG is known as Grace Communion International (GCI) and has undergone a significant shift in its teachings, aligning more closely with mainstream evangelical Christianity. Even his followers rejected some of his key teachings.

Archaeologists uncover proof of ancient biblical battle at Armageddon site: 'Exceptional phenomenon'

Megiddo is the site of Old Testament battle in Israel

Archaeologists believe they have uncovered evidence of an ancient biblical battle, all thanks to a few broken fragments found in a curious location.

The artifacts, which mostly consist of Egyptian pottery, were found during a recent excavation of the ancient city of Megiddo in northern Israel. The site is said to contain over 30 layers of various settlements, dating back from the Copper Age to World War I.

Tel Megiddo was the location where Josiah, the king of Judah, famously fought the Battle of Megiddo in 609 B.C. The Jewish leader was defeated and killed by the army of Egyptian Pharaoh Necho II.

White House Weighs Helping Farmers as Trump Escalates Trade War

Do you want to replace the Chinese market with the African market? Africa has a much higher poverty rate than China, with 480 million people living in poverty compared to China's 50 million. This means far fewer Africans can afford American products.
No just saying diversification.

Results and Discussion of the 'Weaponization of the Federal Government Subcommittee' -- Is there any there there?

This was supposed to be one of the GOP's signature issues after taking control of the House. Jim Jordan has been figuratively waving a piece of paper with the names of numerous whistleblowers who were going to blow the lid off the issue, but so far the testimony has sounded like disgruntled employees. And Jordan has not produced much information about any other whistleblowers. No one on this side of CF has really posted about it, and one post on the Christian-only side has not gotten any activity. Though it's early days yet -- committees take their time.

So here's a thread to talk about the testimony and reports from this particular Subcommittee. <--- this is the topic of this thread, not what you heard from Aunt Edna, not what some guy on TV said. Results from this Subcommittee and discussion thereof.

In his quest to prove the federal government has been “weaponized” against conservatives, Republican House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan has touted the allegations of what he claims are “dozens” of whistleblowers who have come to his office with stories of discrimination and bias.

Three of Jordan’s witnesses have come in for private interviews with committee staff so far. None of them appear to have had their claims validated by government entities that grant federal whistleblower protection, sources familiar with their testimony said. One who alleged there was FBI wrongdoing had their claims rejected. Another is retired and it’s unclear whether he has first-hand knowledge of the violations he alleges. The third has not revealed his direct disclosures or FBI suspension notice to House Democrats, according to transcripts reviewed by CNN.

The three so far interviewed:

One of them is Steve Friend, a former FBI agent working out of Florida who was suspended in August 2022 for objecting to using a SWAT team to arrest a subject for what Friend described as “misdemeanor offenses.”

Friend, who was interviewed by Republican and Democratic subcommittee staff earlier this month, was not part of the SWAT team but was asked to help with the case and refused, he told CNN in an interview.

The men arrested on the date Friend listed in his disclosures were members of a Florida-based organization known as the “Guardians of Freedom,” which adheres to the ideology of the “Three Percenters” and were illegally at the Capitol on January 6, according to the FBI.

Friend admitted in the subcommittee interview that owning a gun or being accused of a felony crime were reasons for FBI management to consider using a SWAT team, according to transcripts reviewed by CNN.

[Guy doesn't do his job; guy gets suspended. Is that 'retaliation' or the fruits of not doing your job?]

--

Judiciary committee staff have also interviewed a former FBI analyst who retired in October 2021 named George Hill, who supervised intelligence analysts that provided support to less than a dozen cases related to January 6.

In his interview with the subcommittee Hill criticized a bank that he says shared with the FBI records of people who were in DC on January 6, according to transcripts reviewed by CNN.

As part of its investigation into the January 6 attack at the Capitol, the FBI collected financial, communications and other business records of people investigated for possible crimes related to the Capitol riot. It’s a routine investigative tool used to help investigators and prosecutors gather evidence. Bank transactions could be used to show travel and location of suspected rioters, and could be used to establish the purchase of weapons used in the attacks on police protecting the Capitol.

[Guy sees routine things he doesn't like; guy retires. ?]

--

The third whistleblower interviewed by the subcommittee is suspended FBI agent Garret O’Boyle, who says he was suspended for making an unauthorized media disclosure. During his interview with subcommittee staff, O’Boyle, who worked out of the FBI’s Wichita field office, would not elaborate on the claim or provide his suspension notice.

[His lawyer said] "He did not release that information to Democrats on the committee because he knew that they would leak it to the media.”

[?]
And don't forget, Trump tried to fire the head of the federal agency dedicated to protecting whistleblowers. (Just saying) All this discussion reminds me why the only thing Christ ever said concerning political matters was "Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's". During Christ's time on this Earth, there was much to be dissatisfied with in the political arena, as the nation of Israel was under Roman rule which included "taxation without representation" among many other problems. Yet Christ never spoke about becoming involved with political opposition. When He was asked about the taxes, this was His reply and He never again spoke about politics.

Could Peter have done otherwise?

Peter had responsibility, even believing so, that he said what he would do, contrary to what Jesus said, but while he could have done differently, Jesus said it because Peter wasn't going to. The foreknowledge of God is not determining the outcome, and not causative. It is just the knowledge, and much of what happens, with our involvement, is separate from God's causation, or anything determinative from what Jesus prophesied.

I am confused, I do not know what this post means.

Peter had said he would never deny the connection to Jesus the Christ even when Jesus told him that he would that night. Peter might have chosen to do as he said he would, never denying his Lord. But he was weak, with his own choice that was not determined by any other he gave in and denied him, on three occasions then. He knew he was responsible, and was not wrong about that, and repented of that, to never deny him again. Jesus had foreknowledge that was of God, but this was seeing the outcome that he could say without any causation from him that determined anything of it.

SCOTUS Appears Sympathetic to Catholic Charities in Wisconsin Case

The Supreme Court justices appeared unpersuaded that religious organizations must ‘proselytize’ to be deemed religious by government authorities.

Justices from both sides of the U.S. Supreme Court’s left-right divide seemed to side with a Catholic charitable organization’s bid for an exemption from state unemployment insurance tax during oral argument Monday.

The Wisconsin case centers on whether Catholic Charities Bureau Inc., a subsidiary of the Diocese of Superior, is entitled to avoid paying into the state’s unemployment insurance fund since a state statute offers an exemption for “an organization operated primarily for religious purposes.”

A state agency said Catholic Charities doesn’t qualify. The Wisconsin Supreme Court agreed, issuing a decision in March 2024 that found that, even though Catholic Charities and related entities act from religious motivations, “their activities are secular in nature.”

Catholic Charities Bureau is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn the state supreme court’s decision and require the state to exempt it.

God and Humour

I previously asked members here if they think that God has *reasonable expectations for us: like say he might expect a chronic alcoholic to have the conviction to walk a different route home so as to avoid the temptation of his local bar, but wouldn’t expect the same alcoholic to resist a shot of Vodka suddenly being waved under his nose at some celebratory event where he was unaware there would be alcohol.

I guess I’m talking about the compulsions that we humans have and what can realistically be expected. If we take humour, can it seriously be expected that people shouldn’t find inappropriate jokes funny? Is that something that we even have control over? Also, isn’t at least a lot of humour funny *because it is transcending/touching appropriateness in a surprising or abstract way? Also, isn’t there an involuntary element to the act of laughing anyway - bit like a hiccup?

I'm all for having a bit of humor and laughter, even of the occasionally cruder type. However, I'd feel uncomfortable if I showed up for church only to find that Sunday School had become Saturday Night Live.

And somewhere in the mix, I consider that Paul advised Christians to avoid "coarse jesting." I know it's hard to do, though, especially if and when one is intelligent and sees all of the obviously insane and silly junk going on around him/her in the world, like we do now. :sorry:

Leftist ‘faith leaders’ twisting Bible to support wasteful gov't spending

Do you believe the government should take from the producers of society to give to those who are poor and needy?
This is a profoundly misleading framing of the situation. We see this often - the misleading claim that the government is stealing from people when they collect tax money. The reality, of course, is that you vote to be taxed.

So the government isn't "taking" anything, they are merely following up on a societal level commitment that was made at the ballot box.

Vance makes his debut as VP on the international stage at a high-stakes AI summit in Paris

There is one point not addressed in that video:

When an European person uses US social media (X, facebook etc.), he will be shown advertising. This is a big as market, so European companies also advertise there. Which means European companies pays for ads showing to people in Europe, but the money (and all the tax payed for that) goes to America. The US make billions of dollars out of Europe by that. Is that fair, or is that »freeloading«?

Germany provides the Ramstein basis, necessary for almost everything the US military does in the middle east (and the German government has no right to infer with those operations), the echelon basis (supervising the European internet, sometimes even spy on our chancellor, as seen when Merkel noticed this), and other helps (e.g. navy ships as part of the Red Sea nays group against the Huthi attacks).

The USA should be thankful for that! The pathetic tone of JDV et.al. is disgusting.
Good point on social media! Oh poor America - always so hard done by

I can see the world gradually moving away from the increasingly alt right MAGA agit prop machines to platforms like Blue sky that will NEVER advertise! Imagine that!? Imagine Facebook without all those annoying ads? They'll just get income from a percent or 2 of business transactions hosted on the service - and a few perks if you pay premium. Bit not enough to alienate free users who might actually SEARCH Blue sky for the businesses on there.

ICE lost track of tens of thousands of migrant kids, inspector general says

In more than 30,000 cases, ICE doesn’t even have an address where the children were supposed to be because HHS left that information blank.

A horrible tragedy that should never happened.
But they said they’re not really missing because no one is looking for them

But Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, policy director at the American Immigration Council, a migrant advocacy group, told the BBC the figures are indicative of a bureaucratic "paperwork issue" rather than "anything nefarious".

"When you hear the phrase 'missing', you think that there is a child that someone is trying to find and can't," he said.

"That's not the case here. The government has not made any effort to find these children."

China, Japan, South Korea to jointly counter US tariffs, Chinese media reports

Apparently China, South Korea and Japan are putting aside about 3000 years of mutual hostility with a free trade agreement (and a joint response to tariffs)

Who knows, maybe this rapprochement might be what gets Trump his Nobel Peace Prize (because "fixing the Russian invasion of Ukraine appears to be dead in the water)?

Notice the announcement comes from China and not South Korea and Japan. Both of these countries may be hedging their trade positions given the America's backward looking position....but I would wait to see their take on the Chinese announcement.

Speed of Time

I wanted an accurate measurement of time. The conclusion that I have been led to has been very intriguing. So, I decided to share it.

Speed of time is infinite. You might be perplexed. How can that be. Wouldn't it result in all time just happening at once, thus reaching the end of time?

My main point that has led to me to this conclusion is the duration of time itself. Time it self cannot have a duration. Thus, mathematically, speed of time is infinite.

Time doesn't have a speed, since time is the denominator of "speed".

Why is Mary’s perpetual virginity so controversial for non-Catholic Christians?

But if anepsios was used once, then it was used. Catholic Answers says they didn’t have a word for cousin. Why the discrepancy?
See my answer a couple of posts above this. Just because a newer translations have chosen to go with the word "cousin" doesn't mean they are accurate. Google translate renders that word from Greek to English as nephew.

Evangelical teacher suspended for not using trans pronouns to have $43K taken from account: court order

This is what is happening now. It is the beginning of the end. Now that God has been rejected a new ideology is taking its place which conforms with the worlds beliefs.

Ten or twenty years ago this would not have been a thing. People knoew what reality was. Go back 60 or 80 years and 90% of society believed in God and this reflected the social norms. Now God is rejected out of the public square Christians are now seen as trouble makers and bigots for their beliefs. The same beliefs we all had even 10 minutes ago in history.

So this insanity will grow and secular ideology will become more and more in conflict with Christianity that it won't be just job loses and financial penalties but actual physical harm and even death.

So Christians need to be strong. Peter says that when we suffer for doing good it shines Christ and this can expose the evil in the world without saying a word. That we are saved by being obedient until the end even if the going gets tuff. God will always provide a way for those who suffer.

I am sure this teacher believes Gods truth is worth more than money. He will find a better place with God. In the end this world passes away and the teasures stored in heaven will last.

The reward of transparency before God and man

"The Lord confides in those who fear Him" from Psalm 25.

100% Truth, folks.

Fear: Respect, follow, seek ever to obey - *listen* for His voice.

•••••

Consider a few things about King David (the author of Psalm 25), if you will.

Most leaders of countries expend great effort in maintaining a polished image of self-sufficency and confidence in their righteousness - and employ an army of handlers to spit-shine that outward appearance and keep it as pristine as possible - heaping praise upon their hero's every word and deed.

And the leader laps it all up - ever seeking to glorify themselves and hide or deny their glaring imperfections.

Ah... the human condition. The curse of the sin nature we all inherit.

And then there's David, the shepherd boy become King. So many of his beautiful Psalms (songs) are recorded in Scripture - and realize that David handed these over to his chief musicians to perform publicly before all of his subjects - and lead them in worship of Israel's God.

The lyrics reveal a man who grieved over and openly confessed his great sins, experienced periods of profound depression when he couldn't perceive the nearness of his God, and strove mightily with fear and anxiety because of his numerous enemies. A man of war and yet at times the fraility of a child.

But notice also, the profound awe and respect He had towards God. He understood that God is a God of justice - but received by faith - was also his very Redeemer.

These songs are prolific with praise and adoration - and provide joyful revelations of God's own heart - of grace, mercy, compassion and love for His Creation.

For you and me.

Such an imperfect man - yet bestowed with the eternal honor of warming up the throne for the Man/God who would follow in his lineage - the King of Kings and Lord of Lords - Jesus Christ.

Holy Scripture refers to David as a "man after God's own heart." I figure that it is because he learned through experience what was perhaps the most important command to keep to ensure consistent intimacy with the Living God:

Psalm 51:6 KJV

"Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom."

Why was David so transparent before God and man? Because he genuinely wanted to share with everyone great and small how to have that same intimacy with God. It's all about receiving His love, and purposefully passing it on.

Don't let your heart be hardened
Don't let your love grow cold
May it always stay so childlike
May it never grow too old
Don't let your heart be hardened
May you always know the Cure
Keep it broken
Before Jesus
Keep it thankful, meek and pure.

Psalm 25 NIV

Of David

"1 In you, Lord my God,
I put my trust.

2 I trust in you;
do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.
3 No one who hopes in you
will ever be put to shame,
but shame will come on those
who are treacherous without cause.

4 Show me your ways, Lord,
teach me your paths.
5 Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
6 Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.
7 Do not remember the sins of my youth
and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
for you, Lord, are good.

8 Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
9 He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way.
10 All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful
toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.
11 For the sake of your name, Lord,
forgive my iniquity, though it is great.

12 Who, then, are those who fear the Lord?
He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.
13 They will spend their days in prosperity,
and their descendants will inherit the land.
14 The Lord confides in those who fear him;
he makes his covenant known to them.
15 My eyes are ever on the Lord,
for only he will release my feet from the snare.

16 Turn to me and be gracious to me,
for I am lonely and afflicted.
17 Relieve the troubles of my heart
and free me from my anguish.
18 Look on my affliction and my distress
and take away all my sins.
19 See how numerous are my enemies
and how fiercely they hate me!

20 Guard my life and rescue me;
do not let me be put to shame,
for I take refuge in you.
21 May integrity and uprightness protect me,
because my hope, Lord, is in you.

22 Deliver Israel, O God,
from all their troubles!"

All the Workers of Wickedness

“The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’
They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds;
There is no one who does good.
The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men
To see if there are any who understand,
Who seek after God.
They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt;
There is no one who does good, not even one.” (Psalms 14:1-3 NASB’95)

Who are the fools? They are people who are deceived, who are being misled, who are being tricked and hoodwinked into believing in and living the lies rather than believing in and living the truth of God’s Word. So they are the selfish, the unwise, the reckless, the self-indulgent, the hypocritical, the idolatrous, and the adulterous who are workers of evil rather than being workers of good. They deny God, not just by their words, but by their deeds.

And they are not just those who say, “There is no God.” They are many who profess faith in God the Father, and in Jesus Christ, who believe their sins are forgiven, and that they are on their way to heaven, guaranteed, but regardless of how they treat God/Jesus, and regardless of how they live. So, although they may not verbalize, “There is no God,” they act as though God does not exist, and that his word is not truth, by their sinful lifestyles.

And then there are those who say that they believe in God, and that they believe in Jesus, but they deny that Jesus is God, the second person of our triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. But Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit, not of man, so while he lived on the earth he was both fully human and fully God, and he was not born with a sin nature because he was not conceived of man, but of God. And Jesus always existed with God.

[John 1:1-36; John 8:24,58; John 10:30-33; John 20:28-29; Romans 9:5; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 2:9; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:8-9; 1 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Peter 1:1]

So the description here of the foolish is a description of all who deny the rule of God in their hearts and lives, whether or not they verbalize belief in God. And because they deny God by their lifestyles, they are those who are corrupt, who commit abominable deeds, who do not do the good that God requires of us, who are lacking completely in understanding of who God is, and who have turned aside to chase after the desires of their flesh, instead.

This is the condition of all people who have not yet trusted in Jesus Christ to be Lord and Savior of their lives, who have not surrendered their lives to the Lord, to do his will, who have not yet died with Christ to sin, and who are not walking in obedience to his commands, even if they verbalize faith in God, in Jesus Christ. And when we are born into this world, we are born with sin natures, in the image of Adam, unable in ourselves to be right with God.

“Do all the workers of wickedness not know,
Who eat up my people as they eat bread,
And do not call upon the Lord?
There they are in great dread,
For God is with the righteous generation.
You would put to shame the counsel of the afflicted,
But the Lord is his refuge.” (Psalms 14:4-6 NASB’95)

And here we see a distinction between the workers of wickedness and the people of God. Now I know this is under the Old Covenant, and so the people of God were all those descended physically from Abraham and Sarah, who were the Jews. But under the New Covenant they are Jew and Gentile by genuine faith in Jesus who have died with him to sin, and for whom obedience to God is their practice. But this does not make them perfect.

But, in New Testament terms, those who are truly of God, by faith in Jesus Christ, are those who have died with Christ to sin, who are putting sin to death in their lives, by the Spirit, in practice, and for whom obedience to God and to his commands are what they practice (their lifestyles). And those who make sin, and not obedience to God, their practice, they are not in relationship with God, and they will not inherit eternal life with God.

And many of them will, indeed, “eat up” God’s people as they eat bread, for God’s people today are only those who are followers of Jesus Christ who are walking in obedience to the Lord, and not in sin, as their life practice. And, as followers of Christ, we are guaranteed that we will be treated as Jesus was treated, if we are following in his footsteps and we are speaking the truth of the gospel to the people, and if we are refuting Satan’s lies.

But God is with the righteous, not with those who live wickedly and who ignore him and his commandments, and who live in sin, and who walk in disobedience to our Lord’s commands. For it is those who practice righteousness who are righteous in the eyes of the Lord, who obey the Lord, who walk in his ways, and who no longer make sin their practice. But all who give lip service to God, but not in truth, will not have eternal life with God.

[Matt 7:13-14,21-23; Lu 9:23-26; Jn 10:27-30; Ac 26:18; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14; Rom 12:1-2; 1 Co 6:9-10,19-20; 1 Co 10:1-22; 2 Co 5:10,15,21; Gal 5:16-24; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 2:8-10; Eph 4:17-32; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:1-17; Tit 2:11-14; Heb 3:1-19; Heb 4:1-13; Heb 10:23-31; Heb 12:1-2; 1 Pet 2:24; 1 Jn 1:5-10; 1 Jn 2:3-6,15-17; 1 Jn 3:4-10]

Lead Me Gently Home, Father

By Will L. Thompson, 1879

Lead me gently home, Father,
Lead me gently home;
When life’s toils are ended,
And parting days have come,
Sin no more shall tempt me,
Ne’er from Thee I’ll roam,
If Thou’ll only lead me, Father,
Lead me gently home.

Lead me gently home, Father,
Lead me gently home, Father,
Lest I fall upon the wayside,
Lead me gently home.

Lead me gently home, Father,
Lead me gently home;
In life’s darkest hours, Father,
When life’s troubles come,
Keep my feet from wand’ring,
Lest from Thee I roam,
Lest I fall upon the wayside,
Lead me gently home.

Ha ha ha ha! You want $500 BILLION from Ukraine's rare earths? BE MY GUEST! (Complex topic - to engage in it - please watch video)

You want people to watch an 18 minute video to engage in a thread which doesn't even specify what it is about?
It's about rare earths - and how incredibly hard they are to extract at an economic price because despite the 'gold rush' for them - they are not that valuable.

It's about how Ukraine is a totally useless place to go looking for them! You may as well dig up your own backyard soil because they're in that as well. Just not concentrated enough to make it financially competitive with the cheap way China does it.

It's about how 'smart' this Trump Regime is - and how if Zelenskyy HAD said yes - please - give away 20% of my country and you can have all the rare-earths you want you silly, silly man - I'm not sure who would have been the bigger con-artist?

(OK - just joking for hyperbole. OF COURSE it's Trump trying to get the western world to give 20% of Ukraine over to a dictator. But what's new?)
