No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. Philippines Megachurch leader Apollo Quiboloy and US-based church admins charged in sex trafficking

Quiboloy arrested

Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) and self-appointed son of God, has been arrested after several months of evading capture, according to Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin C. Abalos.

In an interview with TV reporters, Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, Police Regional Office-11 (PRO-11) director, declined to categorically answer questions if Quiboloy was arrested or surrendered. He suggested that questions as to the details should be addressed to the DILG secretary.

He said Quiboloy was brought to Manila via a C-130 plane, which earlier landed at the Tactical Operations Group (TOG)-Davao at the Old Airport in Sasa located near the KOJC compound.

Quiboloy’s arrest took place on Day 16 of the police operation to serve the arrest warrants on Quiboloy and four of his five co-accused inside the KOJC compound since it started last August 24.

Quiboloy is facing charges of child abuse and qualified human trafficking, along with co-accused Jackielyn Roy, Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Ingrid Canada, and Sylvia Cemañes. Paulene was arrested last July 11 at her residence in Emily Homes Subdivision in Barangay Cabantian here.

The suspects have two warrants of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 12 in Davao City and the RTC in Pasig City in April this year.

Six hostages brutally murdered by Hamas in Gaza, including Israeli-American Goldberg-Polin

I give you a link to a book by an Israeli Jewish Historian - You give me nada. No sources - just suppose to take the word of an Atheist.
You're employing a few different strategies here that make honest debate near impossible.

You're basically framing this conversation in such a way where the only sources you'll as "credible" are the ones that affirm your viewpoint, and find some reason to disqualify all the others as "invalid" so that you can portray any contrasting viewpoint as "mere opinion"

You're also doing some "selective quoting". You addressed the sources that you felt could be easily "dunked on" for superficial reasons. And neglected to include the ones from a few of the other sources I mentioned.

But here's more:

As well as carrying out unlawful killings, others abducted by Hamas were subjected to torture, including severe beatings with truncheons, gun butts, hoses and wire or held in stress positions. Some were interrogated and tortured or otherwise ill-treated in a disused outpatient’s clinic within the grounds of Gaza City’s main al-Shifa hospital.
(sounds like they're using civilian infrastructure for Hamas operations, correct?)

The United Nations has found troves of rockets hidden in three of its schools since the conflict began. “We condemn the group or groups who endangered civilians by placing these munitions in our school,” Chris Gunness, spokesman for the U.N. Relief and Works Agency, said in statement.
(alternate link here, directly from the UNRWA press release: https://www.unrwa.org/newsroom/press-releases/cache-rockets-found-un-school-gaza)

Ramallah_(dpa) _ The Palestinian Authority's health ministry on Saturday accused the militant movement Hamas of turning some of its medical facilities in the Gaza Strip into detention centres.

After Israel stopped 23 days of aerial and ground attacks in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip last month, "Hamas unfortunately used several facilities, mainly a large number of hospitals, as stations for summons, interrogation, torture and detention," the Ramallah-based ministry said in a statement.

The sources I've cited in this iteration are sources that certainly aren't "Zionist sympathizers". The Palestinian Authority and the UNRWA are both very pro-Palestine entities that are very critical of Israel. Even they've reported it happening...

Unless you're making the suggestion that, though it's been a staple of the Hamas strategy since their initial takeover, they magically stopped doing those things after 2014?
Palestinians have never had a chance to have an independent state.
That's not true...in fact, they've had multiple two-state solution offers put on the table, and have turned them down every time.

They had a very fair offer in 2000 (that Bill Clinton attempted to help broker), and they shot it down.

The offer put forth was to form a Palestinian state initially on 73% of the West Bank and 100% of the Gaza Strip. In 10–25 years, the Palestinian state would expand to a maximum of 92% of the West Bank (91 percent of the West Bank and 1 percent from a land swap).

Had they accepted that offer in 2000 (given that we're approaching year 2025), they'd have been their own sovereign country at this point for nearly quarter of a century, and would've had 100% of Gaza and 92% of the west bank under their control.

OTHERS slapped Jesus

They arrested Jesus and took him to face the Sanhedrin in (BSB) Mt 26:

65 At this, the high priest tore his clothes and declared, “He has blasphemed! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy. 66 What do you think?”
“He deserves to die,” they answered.
67 Then they spit in His face and struck Him. Others slapped Him 68 and said, “Prophesy to us, Christ! Who hit You?”

I didn't realise the seriousness of his injury when it was first reported. The fisherman is still in hospital in a coma with a brain injury.

Dang man. We must pray for his healing, and for a swift recovery. I did not realize the seriousness either.

And Then There Were Two (Candle Sticks)

From the time the two witnesses arrive in Israel till the time of the end,the true worshipers of God are robbed, imprisoned, and killed in Israel for their testimony of Jesus and for the word of God.

Why do these two witnessss not help anyone who are being persecuted in Israel ?Why is it ,they do not help the persecuted saints?

"until the time of the end, for the appointed time is still to come."

Daniel 11:33-35

Wise leaders will give instruction to many, but these teachers will die by fire and sword, or they will be jailed and robbed.

During these persecutions, little help will arrive, and many who join them will not be sincere.

And some of the wise will fall victim to persecution. In this way, they will be refined and cleansed and made pure until the time of the end, for the appointed time is still to come.

For three years, members of Detroit Catholic Campus Ministry have kicked off the academic year at local colleges and universities by offering new students a small, simple bottle of holy water and a prayer.

The gesture attracts students to its table at local college campus involvement fairs, serving as an invitation for new students not only to join in fellowship with Catholics on campus but also to take a blessing with them wherever they live during their first year at college.

Detroit Catholic Campus Ministry serves students at Wayne State University, the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and surrounding campuses, including Henry Ford College and the College for Creative Studies.

Time, it isn’t on our side.
Clocks are ticking. Hours go by.
Satan’s lurking ‘round the bend.
Life eternal’s without end.

See, the church is fast asleep.
Satan’s dressed like Li’l Bo Peep.
Gospel message watered down.
Many preachers act like clowns.

Pornographic Liter’ture
In the pockets of “mature.”
Scanty clothing all around.
Decency is rarely found.

Make excuses, then God blame:
Follow Him? “Now, that’s insane!”
Turn from your sin? “Surely not!”
Obey His Word? “That’s a plot!”

Follow idols? “Surely do.”
Watch what’s garbage? “So, what’s new?”
Television fries your minds;
Mystifies you; makes you blind.

Listen, then, the Word of God –
Nurtures sheep with staff and rod.
Hope, in truth is surely found.
Heaven’s home is where I’m bound.

Follow Jesus where He leads.
Listen to Him. His Word heed.
He forgives you of your sins.
Walk in freedom, cleansed within.

Forsake idols. Glad you’ll be.
Live with Him eternally.
Soon He’s coming back for you.
Live in vict’ry. Trust what’s true.

You’ll be surely Glad you did,

To Their Own Harm

Hebrews 6:1-3 ESV

“Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits.”

So, why is it that the apostles kept repeating these same elementary doctrines of Christ throughout the New Testament? It wasn’t so much for the unsaved, for their writings were written to the church congregations.

So, why did the church need to have these elementary truths reinforced over again?

It was partly because some of them kept wandering off from the truth, and they were returning to some or all their former ways. And or it was because they were being led astray by wolves in sheep’s clothing who had secretly slipped in among the sheep to deceive them into following a false god and a false gospel message. And, so there were many false believers in Jesus, too.

And, the same is true today. For, these false shepherds of the people are leading the sheep (or prospective sheep) to follow a false god of the flesh which grants permission for the ‘believer’ to continue living in sin while claiming heaven as his eternal destiny. For, this false god (antichrist) appeals to the appetites of the flesh and gives the people what they want.

And, this false faith of this false god reduces Jesus Christ to something he is not, as though he is weak and powerless to save us from slavery to sin, and as though all he can do is forgive us our sins so that we won’t be punished for our sin. For, they make him out like he is powerless to empower us to live in victory over sin, so he must allow us to continue in sin, which is a lie!

So, we aren’t going to be able to move away from these elementary truths of the gospel of our salvation because there are far too many wolves in sheep’s clothing within the gatherings of the church who are convincing congregants that they can live in their sins and still be saved from sin. And, so we must keep reinforcing these truths in opposition to the lies to rescue people from the darkness and to bring them into the light.

For, salvation from sin means we die with Christ to sin that we might live to Christ and to his righteousness (Rom. 6:1-23; Eph. 4:17-24; 1 Jn. 1:5-9).

Hebrews 6:4-8 ESV

“For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.
“For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned.”

Have you ever read a blog post or an article on the internet which only revealed a small portion of the post or article, followed by something like “see more” as a link to the remainder of the article or post? The larger portion of the article is hidden until you click on “see more,” is it not?

Well, that is what these false shepherds of the people do. They hide the larger portion of the gospel message so that you only see a very condensed part of the overall message, but then they have removed the “see more” link, because they don’t want you to see the entire message. And, this part of Hebrews 6 is definitely one of those passages they like to keep hidden.

For, the promises of God they want you to know about are the ones that would appear to indicate that if you merely professed faith in Jesus Christ that you would be forgiven your sin and have eternal life with God guaranteed, regardless of how you live your life from that moment on. And, then all the blessings of God promised in Scripture to the repentant and obedient would be yours without any repentance or obedience required.

Sowing and Reaping

So, the picture we have here is of someone who has been taught the Scriptures, perhaps from birth on up to adulthood. He (or she) has had full access to the truths of God’s Holy Word. He knows all about the Holy Spirit. He knows, too, about God’s requirements of repentance and obedience as part of believing faith in Jesus Christ. He is not lacking at all in biblical knowledge. And, he has probably professed full abiding faith in Jesus Christ.

Yet, no matter how long he has known the Scriptures, and known the judgments of God, and known God’s requirements for salvation from sin and for eternal life with God, he has continued on his sinful course, holding his hand up to God as if to say “NO!” to his commands, and thus, by the act of his free will, he has shut the door to his eternal salvation.

For, he seeks after the pride of life and the lusts of the eyes and the lusts of the flesh, instead. His god is his stomach, i.e. his sensual and fleshly appetites, and he does what is evil in God’s sight, as a matter of practice. And he has continued to do so no matter how many times God has spoken to his heart and convicted him of his sin and has lovingly called him out of his sinful lifestyle into obedience to himself.

Rather than turning to the Lord to supply his needs, he seeks after self-gratification and self-indulgence to meet what he feels are his needs. So, rather than forsaking his idol, he embraces his idol regularly. He is a lazy glutton, seeking only after what brings him satisfaction without regard for God, and no matter who gets hurt in the process. For, his idol takes first place in his heart. So, the path he is on is a slippery slope, not the way of righteousness and eternal life with God, so it will end in disaster.

For, we are all going to reap what we sow. If we sow to please the flesh, from the flesh we will reap destruction (decay, death). But if we sow to please the Spirit, from the Spirit we will reap eternal life (Gal. 6:7-8; Rom. 8:1-17; 1 Jn. 1:5-9; Gal. 5:16-21; Rom. 2:6-8; Eph. 5:3-6; 1 Jn. 2:3-6).

Hebrews 6:9-12 ESV

“Though we speak in this way, yet in your case, beloved, we feel sure of better things—things that belong to salvation. For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”

So, what things belong to salvation? Jesus said that if we want to come after him, we must deny self and take up our cross daily and follow (obey) him. He said if we hold on to our lives (of sin and self), we will lose them for eternity. But if we lose our lives (die to sin and self), we will gain eternal life with God (Lu. 9:23-26; cf. Rom. 8:1-17; 1 Jn. 1:5-9).

And, the apostles taught us that faith in Jesus Christ means dying with Christ to our old lives of sin and being resurrected to newness of life in Christ Jesus. They taught us the truth that is in Christ Jesus that we are to forsake our former lives which are corrupt according to our deceitful desires, that we are to be renewed in the spirit of our minds, and that we are to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness (1 Pet. 2:24; 2 Co. 5:15; Rom. 6:1-23; Eph. 4:17-24; Tit. 2:11-14).

We are to no longer walk according to our flesh, but we are to walk according to the Spirit of God if we want to have eternal life with God. Daily we must die to sin and live to God (Rom. 8:1-17; 1 Jn. 1:5-9; Lu. 9:23-26).

So, as followers of Jesus, we are not to be loafers, idolaters and those who refuse God’s warnings and his gentle whispers to our hearts convicting us of sin and calling us to true repentance and to obedience to Christ. But we are to continue in Christ and in putting to death the deeds of the flesh daily, and in walking in obedience to our Lord.

And, we are to keep speaking the truth in love, too, no matter if people listen or they fail to listen, and no matter if we are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, too. For, many are lost for lack of true shepherds, and they need to be told the truth which can save their souls from hell, and which can give them true freedom from sin.

Oh, to Be Like Thee, Blessed Redeemer

Lyrics by Thomas O. Chisholm, 1897
Music by W. J. Kirkpatrick, 1897

Oh, to be like Thee! blessèd Redeemer,
This is my constant longing and prayer;
Gladly I’ll forfeit all of earth’s treasures,
Jesus, Thy perfect likeness to wear.

Oh, to be like Thee! full of compassion,
Loving, forgiving, tender and kind,
Helping the helpless, cheering the fainting,
Seeking the wandering sinner to find.

O to be like Thee! lowly in spirit,
Holy and harmless, patient and brave;
Meekly enduring cruel reproaches,
Willing to suffer others to save.

O to be like Thee! while I am pleading,
Pour out Thy Spirit, fill with Thy love;
Make me a temple meet for Thy dwelling,
Fit me for life and Heaven above.

Oh, to be like Thee! Oh, to be like Thee,
Blessèd Redeemer, pure as Thou art;
Come in Thy sweetness, come in Thy fullness;
Stamp Thine own image deep on my heart.

Watch Out for Thorns and Snares

Select Verses from Proverbs 22:3-14

3 The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
but the simple go on and suffer for it.
5 Thorns and snares are in the way of the crooked;
whoever guards his soul will keep far from them.
8 Whoever sows injustice will reap calamity,
and the rod of his fury will fail.
10 Drive out a scoffer, and strife will go out,
and quarreling and abuse will cease.
11 He who loves purity of heart,
and whose speech is gracious, will have the king as his friend.
12 The eyes of the Lord keep watch over knowledge,
but he overthrows the words of the traitor.
13 The sluggard says, “There is a lion outside!
I shall be killed in the streets!”
14 The mouth of forbidden women is a deep pit;
he with whom the Lord is angry will fall into it.

The prudent are the cautious, the wise, the sensible. They are those who are watchful and who keep an eye out for danger so that they are not caught in the devil’s trap unaware. So, when they see danger, they retreat. And in this context, the “simple” are the opposite of the prudent. So they are the unwise, foolish, senseless, reckless, and the irresponsible who go by their feelings and by the lusts of their flesh and who do not take thought to their ways to do what is right, but they follow after their fleshly instincts, instead.

They are the sluggards, the lazy, the crooked, those who sow injustice, the scoffers, the self-indulgent, the intoxicated to sin, those who lust after what is not theirs to possess, the liars, the unfaithful, the adulterers, the traitors, the users, the manipulators, and abusers. They are those who go after the forbidden and who seek not honor, dignity, righteousness, godliness, moral purity, honesty, faithfulness, and loving kindness. For they are the selfish who want what they want regardless of who gets hurt in the process.

They are also those who live in a fantasy world which they create for themselves to have what they want if only in their own minds, if they cannot get what they want live and in person. They are the sexually addicted, too, who are addicted to pornography and all kinds of sexual deviance and perversions of sex for their own self-gratification. So what they may not be able to attain in real life they attain by pretending and dreaming and fantasizing that it is real. For they are thinking only of themselves.

Now, with regard to the self-indulgent, described above, and the consequences of their sinful actions, they may not always face much in the way of consequences in this life. Many of them go on in their sins for very long periods of time because they are not being faced with serious consequences inflicted upon them, at least not enough to get them to change, or perhaps not much at all in this present life. And we have many of them within the gatherings of the church who are given permission to sin.

But, if not in this life, they who walk by the flesh and not by the Spirit will one day be judged by God and they will face the wrath of God, even if they have professed faith in Jesus Christ with their lips. They will one day suffer the consequences of their rebellious ways. One day the words of the traitor will be exposed and he will be judged by his lies. Those who profess faith in the Lord Jesus and yet live for the flesh, to please the flesh, and who continue in deliberate and habitual sin, will one day face God’s wrath.

So, we are to be those who are wise and who are discerning and who shun evil and who walk in the ways of the Lord in righteousness and in holiness and in walks of obedience to our Lord and to his commands. Sin must no longer be what we practice, but obedience to God should be our practice. We are to be those who are humble before our Lord and who walk in the fear of the Lord, believing his words to be true, and who honor God with our lives. For we are to be the pure of heart who guard our souls against all evil.

[Matt 7:21-23; Lu 9:23-26; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14; Rom 12:1-2; 1 Co 6:9-10,19-20; 1 Co 10:1-22; 2 Co 5:10,15,21; Gal 5:16-24; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 2:8-10; Eph 4:17-32; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:1-17; Titus 2:11-14; 1 Jn 1:5-10; 1 Jn 2:3-6,15-17; 1 Jn 3:4-10; 1 Pet 2:24; Heb 3:1-19; Heb 4:1-13; Heb 10:23-31; Heb 12:1-2]

Why Hispanic Voters Have Drifted Toward the GOP

Under Trump all minorities had the lowest unemployment. The revisionists media and Democrats want everyone to forget the economy and jobs under Trump.

I saw AG Harland [I think the last name] a border DOJ? being questioned by congress and showing statistical facts to him and asking why so many criminals are being released into the US and he said we don't have enough detention cells.
Cruz said, this means stay in Mexico works, not letting them run free in the US.

The future Belongs to God

The road is long, and so is the future. Its actual length can vary from a second, to a multi-millennium, and to when God says ‘Last call,’ depending on who and what you are; be it a living being or earth’s ability to sustain life in general.

The future belongs to God. It may seem that we can control what will happen by the plans we make. If someone says, “I will go to the beach tomorrow,” and tomorrow they’re at the beach, one might say that person controlled the future. But the same person’s plans could be altered by an unforeseen event that prevents going to the beach as planned. The same person cannot prevent such things from happening that would interfere with the plans made. In that respect, only God has a handle on what happens next. People, like doctors, those in the military, those with families to look after, and those awaiting a verdict, to name a few, are aware of this. “It’s in God’s hands” is an ongoing refrain. James 4:13-15 says, “Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit’— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.’”

As far as the future goes, we can only have faith that things will turn out good for us and our loved ones. But for those of us who love God, faith in Him is all the faith we need. And it should not be underestimated, since, as Jesus says in Matthew 17:20, if you have faith even as little as a grain of mustard seed you can move mountains. But as faith exists on a prism, on one end are its seeds; at the other end are seeds of doubt that can hamper our faith to the extent they are in us. At one end were Jesus’ first disciples; at the other end was Doubting Thomas who, after being told by the disciples after the Resurrection that Jesus was among them in John 20:25 when Thomas was away, responded in the same Verse that he had to see him to believe it.

As far as the future goes, faith stands as a confirmation of God’s control of the future. Whatever plans He makes are plans that are realized. There is a limit to our understanding of God’s Thoughts and His Ways, as Isaiah 55:8 tells us. His Ways are mysterious to us, but if we love Him, our faith in him is all we need.

And what of His Plans? God has Plans for everyone, before we enter our mother’s womb. He mase it clear He knew everyone before we entered our mother’s womb, when He spoke to Jeremiah in Jeremiah 1:5. If God knows Jeremiah, He knows us all. If God has plans for Jeremiah in Jeremiah 29:11 for a future and a hope, he has similar plans for all of us. Those plans bear fruit when we love Him, as it says in Romans 8:28.

There is nothing wrong with planning for the future. But we should be mindful that the future is in God’s Hands, and our faith and love in Him can make that future agreeable to us.
I like this one. There are a few more verses that are relevant to your post, and discuss how we should not fear the future, as God is in control.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV): "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Isaiah 41:10 (ESV): "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Matthew 6:25-34 (ESV): "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Found out I am going to be first time grandmother

Found out I am going to be a first time grandmother today. My oldest son and his wife planned to have a kid and this will be their first child together. His wife has a 6 year old son from a previous relationship that my oldest son is a great step father to. I am excited and they told me today, found out on Wednesday.
Congrats. :) It will also make you realize how much time has passed.
