  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Judge's 'promise' let career criminal walk free to butcher Ukrainian refugee after his MOM said he should be locked up

Court records show he had cycled through the criminal justice system for more than a decade, with 14 prior cases in Mecklenburg County, including a five-year prison sentence for robbery with a dangerous weapon.

That's correct, but aside from that 5-year hitch, none of you guys have provided any specifics about what he did, when he did it, and what he should have been punished with. Were those 14 prior cases shoplifting and loitering? Or were they aggravated assault? Were they 10 years ago or last month? OP and others in his article are screaming that this guy wasn't still imprisoned for making a bogus 911 call nine months ago. Even the most hang-em-high judge+DA pair wouldn't have jailed him for that long.

His mother told local television she sought an involuntary psychiatric commitment earlier this year after he became violent at home. Doctors diagnosed him with schizophrenia.
Schizophrenia isn't a punishable offense. It's tragic that his mother couldn't get him help, but her experience is hardly unique, and hardly unique to Democrat-run states. It's a problem everywhere.

The Criminal Records of the illegal immigrants arrested in LA

I explained that they have the legal right but you ignored that.
That’s right, I did.

Police abuse their legal powers all the time and ICE agents are no different except far less professional and far less accountable to the public they serve.

Just in case fallacy.
Keep ignoring the many parallels from history.

Who is the Antichrist?

The word “Antichrist” gets thrown around often. Politicians are called it, dictators accused of it, and movies dramatize it. For some, it’s nothing more than a myth. Atheist writer Christopher Hitchens dismissed the Antichrist as “apocalyptic fantasy,” while Hollywood portrays him as a shadowy villain plotting world domination. But what does the Bible actually teach about the Antichrist, and how should Christians understand him today?

What the Bible says about the Antichrist

The New Testament letters of John first used the word. John warns that “you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come” (1 John 2:18). Right away, the Bible shows two realities: there is a final Antichrist still to appear, but there are also many “antichrists” already active in the world.

The word itself means both “against Christ” and “in place of Christ.” The Antichrist does not only oppose Jesus but also seeks to replace Him with a counterfeit version of truth. John explains that “every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God,” calling this “the spirit of the antichrist” (1 John 4:3).

Paul adds more detail in 2 Thessalonians, describing “the man of lawlessness” who will exalt himself and even sit “in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God” (2 Thess. 2:3–4). Revelation 13paints an even starker picture of a beast rising from the sea, wielding global power, performing miraculous signs, and demanding worship. Together, these passages describe the Antichrist as deceptive, arrogant, and dangerous—a figure who leads people into false worship and rebellion against God.

Different Christian views

Continued below.
The one thing I'd like to point out is that John got his word "Antichrist" and Paul got his word "Man of Sin" from his description in Dan 7. There, the Little Horn appears as head of a 10 nation confederation to oppose the coming of the Kingdom of Christ, the "Son of Man."

And so, this "Little Horn" is Anti Christ, and a Man of Sin. He subverts what God intends to make into Christ's Kingdom, and persecutes the saints.

Personally, with hindsight I can see that just as God created Israel in the Middle East to carry the torch for Faith and for Covenant Living, so God added European Civilization as a Covenant People with Faith. Both entities, we are warned, have either turned to apostasy or will turn to apostasy, due to the wayward influence of Sin within.

We know that Israel fell away, if only temporarily. And we are seeing Christian Civilizatioin falling away as well, in Europe and elsewhere--wherever Christianity has spread. We are warned that before the Kingdom of God comes, there will be testing.

Newsome pushed back against Democracy to achieve his political goals

Gavin Newsom's actions is undemocratic,
Why is it undemocratic? He has a proposal and is putting it up for a vote from the people of his state. That's the literal definition of "democratic."

The proposal itself is mildly undemocratic in that it (temporarily) reduces representation, but the actions that Newsom is undertaking are not.

Lost tribes of Israel

The sojourn and migration of the tribes has left abundant traces everywhere. For example, hundreds of Scythian burial monuments from the area between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea have been documented
American Journal of Archaeology 1914, Vol. XVIII

In the Crimea, one of these tombs (tumuli) contains a manuscript that reads:

The tomb therefore probably dates from the second or third decade before the birth of Christ. The fact that the Israelites made a stopover in the region of present-day Ukraine, the fertile area north of the Black Sea, also appears to be indicated in an apocryphal scripture,

Those are the ten tribes, which were carried away prisoners out of their own land in the time of Osea the king, whom Salmanasar the king of Assyria led away captive, and he carried them over the waters, and so came they into another land. But they took this counsel among themselves, that they would leave the multitude of the heathen, and go forth into a further country, where never mankind dwelt, That they might there keep their statutes, which they never kept in their own land. And they entered into Euphrates by the narrow places of the river. For the most High then shewed signs for them, and held still the flood, till they were passed over. For through that country there was a great way to go, namely, of a year and a half: and the same region is called Arsareth. 4 Ezra 13:40-45

The Hebrew word "'erets 'achereth" is not a well-known geographical name today, but means "other land". The Crimea was also inhabited by Israelites. The Greeks called the Kerch Strait the "Cimmerian Bosporus". The region north of the Black Sea, which was home to the tribes of Israel from the 7th to 3rd century BCE, was called Scythia at this time: the land of the Scythians. The whole of Central and Northern Europe was colonized from Scythia. In his letter to the Colossians, St. Paul, who exclusively proselytized members of the 10 tribes, calls the Scythians

Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Col 3:11

The Romans gave the Scythians the name "Germanic"
William Camdon 1610

Scythians who went from German regions to England were called Anglo-Saxons. Danes and Vikings were Scythians who came to Scandinavia via Jutland. Some of them later moved to Normandy and then invaded England as Normans. The Romans were also familiar with the Germanic tribal name "Cimmerians" in the form cimbri teutonique, which is common in German as "Kimbern und Teutonen". The reference to the Cimmerians south of the Caucasus is given
Tacitus, Germania, Ch.37

Elsewhere, Tacitus describes the Germanic tribes as a people who did not intermarry with foreign ethnic groups, just as G-d had commanded Israel
Germania, Ch.4

And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the porters, the singers, the Nethinims, and all they that had separated themselves from the people of the lands unto the law of G-d, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, every one having knowledge, and having understanding; They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in G-d's law, which was given by Moses the servant of G-d, and to observe and do all the commandments of the Lord our Lord, and his judgments and his statutes; And that we would not give our daughters unto the people of the land, not take their daughters for our sons: Neh 10:28-30

To this day, the Scots preserve the story of their Scythian origins in the most famous document of Scottish history, the Declaration of Arbroath

This declaration was written in 1320. It contains the statement that the Scots

The original of this ancient document, described by many as "Scotland's most prized possession", is on display in a glass case in the Registry House in Edinburgh. The seals of the 25 signatory noblemen are attached to the parchment.

If the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt is dated to around 1350 BCE, then the journey from Spain to Scotland took place in the 2nd century BCE.

Art objects and surviving written documents give the impression that white people made a decisive contribution to the high cultural status of the ancient Greek world and the Roman Empire. The portraits and statues of ancient Greek and Roman statesmen and philosophers also bear witness to this. Many representatives of the Roman upper class were of Celtic and Germanic origin. The Celts and Germanic tribes in turn came from the Scythian region north of the Black Sea. During the Renaissance, too, there were many people of Nordic origin in the upper classes and among artists and scientists in northern Italy. The continuing interest of the educated classes of Europe in classical Greek (and also Roman) culture and science is an indication of the essential affinity between the people of the two cultural areas, which is not surprising when identical ethnic groups are involved.

In addition to the German dialects, the Germanic language family of Central and Northern Europeans includes Frisian, Flemish, English, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic, formerly also Gothic, Anglo-Saxon, etc. These languages have characteristics (sound shift, gemination) that are otherwise only found in Hebrew. There is also much lexical agreement between the Germanic languages and Hebrew. All this indicates that the Germanic language family has its origins in Hebrew
Terry Marvin Blodgett 1981

The English language is a Germanic language originally native to England and belongs to the West Germanic branch. Linguistic research into the Germanic languages shows a strong connection to ancient Hebrew. The Phoenicians who colonized the English Isles were Israelites who gave the Hebrew word for "covenant", b r t (brit), as the name for the islands: Brit-annia.

The Phoenicians founded many colonies, including Carthage, whose original name in Hebrew was Kiriath Hadeshath, meaning "the new city". The people of Carthage worshipped a G-d called El, but later they worshipped Baal, like the ten northern tribes of Israel.

The following note fits into the context of the traces of the migration of peoples:

When the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem began after the Babylonian captivity (535 BCE), Ezra soon afterward reports to King Darius on the progress of the project and reveals something about the construction method: namely, that timbers are placed in the walls

Be it known unto the king, that we went into the province of Judea, to the house of the great G-d, which is builded with great stones, and timber is laid in the walls, and this work goeth fast on, and prospereth in their hands. Ezra 5:8

This type of construction is called half-timbering. It was a fairly inexpensive way of building. It is rather questionable whether the first temple, which King Solomon had built in a time of economic prosperity, used half-timbering technology. But the Israelites evidently knew and practiced this technique. Most half-timbered houses today can be found in Germany, Alsace and England. From the 11th to the 19th century, they were the dominant architectural style throughout Central Europe, England and Scandinavia. In the Middle Ages, Paris and London were purely half-timbered cities. Outside of Central and Northern Europe, there are isolated half-timbered buildings in the areas through which the Scythians and Cimmerians moved towards Europe during the Great Migration, or worldwide in places where white ethnic groups live today. It is not only in Europe that the descendants of Jacob have become a whole host of peoples (Gen 28:3 .35:10-11 .48:17-19):

And G-d said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her. Gen 17:15-16

From the 17th century AD, white Europeans settled in North America, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. In addition, many whites emigrated to South America, to Brazil, Argentina, and many Germans even to the end of the world: southern Chile. G-d's promise to Jacob's physical descendants, to Israel, is that he will call them from the end of the world and bring them back (Isaiah 41:8-10, 43:5-7). G-d had always reserved areas all over the world to be settled by his children.

When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. Deu 32:8

If Chile is one end of the world from Europe, then Siberia is the other end of the world. G-d had not only promised that nations would come out of Jacob, but that there would be dispersion among foreign peoples.
Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 ¶ And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. {was … : Gr. voice was made confounded: or, troubled in mind }
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
14 ¶ But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

These seem to be Israelites. The apostles were called Galileans here.
The tribes were probably still known.
As seen here....
Lu 2:36 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
And Paul a Benjamite considered himself an Israelite...as well
The loss of tribal identity today, does not mean they were unknown in the time of Christ...

The Criminal Records of the illegal immigrants arrested in LA

Ok then maybe make your post a bit clearer?
Not trying to be pedantic but could you make a suggestion of how I could have been more clear with that single sentence post?

Again, undercover cops do this every day. They cover their faces and don’t have their badges showing otherwise they would no longer be undercover.
I have a hard time understanding why you'd conflate "undercover cops" with "ICE Agents" as if the policework they always do is completely similar.
Similarly ICE does not want the exposure in particular given the treats of doxing them and their families by rabid activists. I don’t blame ICE agents from doing their jobs and they have been put in an unenviable position by an administration that talks out of both sides of their mouth.
Police officers deal with this worry all the time. Why can't ICE agents?
THESE are the two policing bodies (those individuals arresting people) that should be compared for the work they do.

significant events and soon to happen events

Hi Randy, a lot remains to be seen.

I think the leader of Russia will be Gog in the Gog/Magog event to take place. I don't think the Russian leader, Gog, will be the Antichrist. The Antichrist will come out of the EU area.

Don't know yet what particular EU leaders will make up the ten king group that the little horn will emerge as leader over. I don't think Russia will a part of that confederation.

Yes, a lot of questions remain. Like the 666 name of the beast mystery. And I agree that perhaps we are not meant to know until the time is right. But as things develop, we can make posts in the thread.
Oh yea, I think it's fine and perhaps responsible to look at the possibilities, even if God isn't delivering it to us in a neat concise package yet. We're probably given as much as we need for the time. But we are getting close.

I went through a study a long time ago, researching how the Roman Empire, the "4th Kingdom," has evolved in history, in hopes of understanding what European states have been carrying the torch for Roman Imperialism. In this way I thought I might perhaps understand what states are going to turn to Antichrist?

I got some of my inspiration from little pamphlets by Gordon Lindsay, who pointed out that as the Roman Empire had two parts, so in history Europe has been divided into Western and Eastern Europe. I theorized that if these are the "two legs" of the "4th Kingdom" (Dan 2), then perhaps 5 states in Antichrist's Kingdom will come from the West and 5 from the East?

A number of European states have actually claimed to be "empires," carrying the Roman Imperial Tradition. We know Italy did, as the original Roman state. But so did France and Germany, Austria, Spain, and some in the East, as well, including Russia.

But European Civilization has expanded into two major states that extend beyond Europe, including the US and Russia (Europe and Asia). So I just wondered?

Also, I think like you do that Russia may be "Gog." And when we read about Gog in Eze 38-39, it reads like the last battle Israel must face. So I wondered if he may be part of Armageddon?

I really don't wish to think the US will join the Antichristian coalition. But the way things have been going I wouldn't be overly surprised. European Civilization is turning to apostasy from its Christian roots, including the US. I just keep praying that God saves and secures His Church in the US and elsewhere.

Anyway, I'm always interested in your thoughts, even if they fall well outside of my own thoughts. I don't claim to be right on any of it because it is so unclear at this point. But we will press ahead! ;) Take care...

Israel-Hamas Thread II

In an Instagram post, Hollywood star Angelina Jolie accuses millions of followers of one-sided accusations about the war in Gaza. Her words do not come across as neutral humanity, but as political accusations and they ignore crucial facts.

Angelina Jolie has caused a stir with a new statement on the war in the Middle East. In front of over 16 million followers, the actress and former UN ambassador declared that Gaza is experiencing a

"famine of cruelty, justified by revenge, enabled by ignorance".

In her post, she cited figures and warnings from international organisations, spoke of 132,000 children in acute danger and painted a picture that attributes blame and responsibility exclusively to one side.

The choice of words is drastic, but it remains one-sided. Jolie presents the situation not as a complex humanitarian tragedy, but as deliberate policy. She claims that hunger is

"not an accident, but the result of decisions"

and accuses governments of deliberately looking the other way. On this basis, she makes a moral accusation that is presented to her millions of followers on social media without any differentiation.

1757430172791.jpeg

x.com

In doing so, Jolie completely fails to mention key aspects. She does not say a word about the fact that large quantities of aid supplies are reaching the region but are not getting to those most in need because armed groups are confiscating them and selling them on the black market. Her post makes no mention of the fact that millions of tonnes of food, water and medicine have been brought into the region despite the war situation. Instead, she paints a picture that gives the impression of deliberate destruction and obscures any other reality.

Back in April, Jolie spoke of Gaza becoming a

"mass grave".

Then, as now, she chose images that stir up emotions but do not allow for sober analysis. This is not the first time that celebrities have contributed more to polarisation than to a nuanced understanding of the situation with their simplistic messages.

Jolie's reference to decades of double standards in the protection of human rights follows this pattern. She points to Syria, Sudan, Afghanistan and Ukraine, all countries experiencing enormous suffering. But the connection she constructs suggests a global conspiracy against certain peoples. Such simplification fuels mistrust rather than promoting solutions.

Precisely because millions of people read her words, Jolie bears responsibility. Anyone who speaks publicly with this kind of reach must not disguise one-sided accusations as humanitarian analysis. Otherwise, compassion becomes a weapon in the war of opinions – and the truth falls by the wayside.

Donald Trump ordered to pay E. Jean Carroll $83.3 million, will appeal verdict

That the man behind the Resolute Desk effectively raped a woman?
Are we speaking of Trump, Clinton or JFK?
How does a country reach a point when you can not only vote for someone like that but support whatever he does?
His policies are separate from his personal issues. He is a womanizer, braggart and who knows what ugliness he has - the majority of the vote went to him because he was better than Kamala for the country. People in the US have the ability to see what is best for the nation, and he was and is the best.

It's not our fault the Democratic Party did not have anyone that could defeat the 34 time - count them! - 34 time convicted felon who has major issues. The alternative was worse.
Australia isn't that exceptional, but if a politician just said some of the things that Trump has, let alone done them, then his career would be over immediately.
You are correct - Australia is not that exceptional.

I mean just look recently:
  • Robodebt Scheme: An unlawful automated debt recovery program that targeted welfare recipients, leading to a royal commission and widespread condemnation.
  • Scott Morrison’s Secret Ministries: The former PM secretly appointed himself to multiple ministerial roles during the pandemic, sparking outrage over transparency and accountability.
  • Sports Rorts & Travel Scandals: Misuse of taxpayer funds for partisan gain or personal luxury—like Bronwyn Bishop’s infamous helicopter ride—have repeatedly stirred public anger.
or how about:

    • Barnaby Joyce Affair (2018)Then-Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce faced public backlash after it was revealed he had an extramarital affair with a former staffer, Vikki Campion, who later became pregnant. The scandal led to his resignation and prompted the introduction of a “bonk ban” prohibiting ministers from having sexual relationships with staff.
    • Brittany Higgins Allegation (2021)
Former Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins alleged she was raped by a colleague inside Parliament House in 2019. Her story ignited a national reckoning on sexual harassment and workplace safety in politics, leading to protests, inquiries, and calls for reform.
    • Christian Porter Accusation (2021)
The then-Attorney General was accused of historical rape by a woman who later died by suicide. Porter denied the allegations and launched a defamation suit against the ABC, which was later settled. He eventually resigned from politics.
    • Alan Tudge Allegations (2021–2022)
The former Education Minister was accused by a former staffer of emotional and physical abuse during a consensual affair. A review found insufficient evidence to support the claims, but the controversy led to his stepping down from cabinet and eventual exit from politics.
No - Australians do not have higher moral ground - thanks for mentioning it.
How has America reached this point? What would he actually have to do before you rejected him as the person who is meant to represent your country? Kill someone?
Nope - it is simpler than that - Bring someone who is better.

He does have limited immunity. That doesn't absolve him or the US, from retribution. How will the world respond to these murders?
The Supreme Court conferred absolute immunity for anything even tangentially related to the office.

Endless hasbara lies. Different boy in the picture. They're so lazy they can't even be bothered to use Photoshop. Which is really saying something considering how incessant Adobe pushes their AI crap on the userbase.

You apparently haven't even bothered to research the story yourself. Unproven claims on your part do not make it implausible or untrue.

Interview with Gaza boy Abboud, found alive

Footage obtained by Fox News shows Abboud playing and interacting with GHF personnel shortly before his extraction

Gazan boy found alive plays with GHF representative

GHF Executive Chair Johnnie Moore emphasized to Fox News the importance of verified reporting, saying,

“Too many people were quick to spread unverified claims. When a child’s life is at stake, facts must matter more than headlines.”

Newsome pushed back against Democracy to achieve his political goals

That may be part of his motivation. But of course we all know why Gov Newsom is asking California voters to suspend their districting board:
To counter Texas (and now other states) in their mid-decade gerrymandering scheme. Trump instinctively knows he'll lose the House next year unless he changes the rule.
Gavin Newsom's actions is undemocratic, but conservatives in the thread ignore similar behavior from Republicans. Opening of this thread highlights a noticeable lack of impartiality among certain members of this forum. What is most surprising, however, is that when they present such biased opinions, they do not appear to feel any sense of embarrassment.

American boys have become less supportive of gender equality (i.e. men and women should receive equal job opportunities and pay)

It seems like secularization in the US has resulted in the disintegration of the liberal, egalitarian consensus in favor of political and cultural polarization. And religion in the US, despite declining in terms of percentages, becoming less pro-social and more extremist, perhaps due to the declining influence of large Protestant institutions, which historically had a moderating influence. But this didn't happen in a vacuum, it also occurred along with deregulated, but liability-shielded internet platforms that pushed spectacle and outrage, instead of responsible discourse.
I think the secularization issue is a bit of a chicken and egg problem - is secularization leading to polarization and extremism, or are polarization and extremism causing the secularization of American culture?

And that’s it. That’s what they’re doing that sets them apart from normal police.
I explained that they have the legal right but you ignored that.
They’re acting more like a secret police like you saw in the USSR or Argentina under the military dictatorship.

All I see here is complaining that a narco cartels boat carrying illegal drugs meant to kill Americans was destroyed.
As far as I can tell, the drug sellers do NOT want to kill the geese laying golden eggs; the idea is to keep the flow of money coming their way. Your scenario makes no sense.

“You don’t arrest 58-year-old grandmothers,” her husband said. But she passed a bad $25 check ten years ago, so adios! er... Slán leat!

You have a larger chance of becoming one as well as your bank.
Don’t drink the kool aid. My bank can also become a criminal? lol

“This report examines recidivism risk for three plausible first offender groupings consistent with historical Commission definitions of possible first offenders. The three first offender groups all come from offenders with zero criminal history points, and are defined as follows:

  • group A contains offenders with no prior arrests;
  • group B contains offenders with prior arrests, but no prior convictions; and
  • group C contains offenders with only prior convictions that are to never count towards criminal history.

Download the PDF

Key Findings

Based on the Commission's analysis the following observations were made:
  • Among these groups the lowest recidivism rate is for group A with a rate of 6.8 percent. Group B has a recidivism rate of 17.2 percent. Group C has a recidivism rate of 8.8 percent.
  • While group B offenders have no prior convictions, it appears that the absence of prior convictions is often due to prosecutorial declinations, arrests that were pending prosecution at the time of sentencing for the instant offense, or arrests with issued outstanding warrants. Moreover, group B, with its recidivism rate of 17.2 percent, has a substantially greater risk for future offending compared to groups A and C.
  • Group C offenders, having been previously convicted of minor traffic or public order crimes, have only limited contact with the criminal justice system prior to their instant offense. Also, with a recidivism rate of 8.8 percent, the overwhelming majority of group C offenders – almost nine out of ten – are not likely to recidivate.
  • From both culpability and recidivism risk perspectives, group A offenders, with no prior arrests, most strongly meet the conceptual definition of the first offender category. Offenders in group A have had no recorded contact with the criminal justice system prior to their instant federal offense. Moreover, as indicated by their extremely low recidivism rate of 6.8 percent, they are easily the most empirically identifiable group of guideline federal offenders who are the least likely to re-offend.”

Its called intel. Intel you aren't privy to because it could compromise the Intel and those providing it.
The appropriate oversight committees also have not received the intel, if it exists, which the Executive Branch is required to consult and inform.
Dont be foolish.
Try to take your own advice here, if you can manage it. And maybe lay off the flaming?
