  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Darwinian evolution - still a theory in crisis.

I don't think this is the proper place to discuss one another's spiritual standing before the LORD.

I would like to ask you a question though.

Do you consider the Lord's Table a sacrament, or an ordinance?

Sacrament but we also are required as practicing Catholics to believe it if we receive.

When you say “the Lord‘s table” you mean Communion, right?

I still favor Enlil because he wanted to destroy the humans because they were too loud .
Yeah, that really makes me wonder about you. Misanthropy is hardly going to attract anyone to your faith (apart from other misanthropists).

What we see happening in observed cases of macroevolution is that the genome usually doesn't change that much. Reproductive isolation can come about with relatively few mutations. However, common descent gets a huge boost from genetics, because the "tree of life" first noticed by Linnaeus very nicely fits phylogenies based on DNA.

There are exceptions. Polyplody (duplication of the entire genome) is pretty rare in animals but is a fairly frequent cause of macroevolution in plants.

Well, homologies are very good evidence for macroevolution as YEC Dr. Kurt Wise says. But genetic data is also powerful evidence for evolution.

Notice that DNA evidence shows that coelacanths (lobed fin fish) are more closely related to tetrapods than they are to other fish, which is what the fossil record also indicates.
Thank you for the informative post. I’ve been busy with other things, so I’ve been slow getting back to you.

’m not surprised. So let me get tho straight, you don’t believe in transubstantiation, correct?
There are denominations that don't like the term, but admit that Christ is present in the bread and wine.

There are a number of Christian denominations that teach that Christ is truly present in the Eucharist, including Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Oriental Orthodoxy, the Church of the East, the Moravianism, Lutheranism, Anglicanism, Methodism and Irvingianism, as well as Reformed Christianity (including the Continental Reformed, Presbyterian, Congregationalist, and Reformed Baptist traditions).[10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17] The differences in the teachings of these Churches primarily concern "the mode of Christ's presence in the Lord's Supper".[10]

Luther, for example, renamed it "consubstantiation" with some doctrinal differences as to how Christ is present. There are other denominations that entirely reject Jesus' words and Paul's explanation of the Eucharist and deny Christ's presence entirely..
