It is a good way to shut down a reasonable , truthful and honest conversation. Anyway, I am going to ovetlook it because it defeats any possibility of getting to the truth of the matter.

In full disclosure...

Everyone in my family on my mother's side is an immigrant from Cuba. All of them fled the Castro regime, one even tried to swim for freedom but was caught and thrown into prison. My mother and father single handedly brought the family over one by one. Some came through illegal channels, some came on a Visa. What they all did was claim asylum then became US citizens. This is how it was , until now.

But what mostly erks me is the hypocrisy.
This country heavily relies on immigrant labor. But I'm rather weary defending my position to those who do not see or know the value of those who are the backbone of this country.

And this comment is exactly why I didn’t choose to address the requests above. What begins as hermeneutics can devolve into apologetics, particularly in non Christian areas of this site. I have sufficient objective evidence to prove that the pastoral epistles are not a forgery. But that discussion would be outside of hermeneutics.

This reply was to someone who has been dallying in a multitude of exercises in futility , apparently without any good reason to do so.
However, the point of a stationary earth was addressed by Einstein and many other top scientists or mathematicians decades ago --- besides what Scripture says --- a stationary earth is more of a fact proven than a moving earth .

For that matter, the Church has always accepted the spherical earth. The issue with Galileo was not whether the earth was spherical, the issue was whether it was at the center of the universe. The very model accepted by the Church presented a spherical earth.

The issue with Columbus was not whether the earth was spherical, it was whether the earth was as large as originally calculated by the Greeks (which would be too large for ships of the day to circumnavigate--they didn't know the Americas were in the middle of the "Great Ocean") or a smaller sphere estimated by Posidonius in the 2nd century.

We (followers of Jesus) seek His Word diligently and trust Him to let us know His Purpose, Plan and Meaning.
His word describes all the presidents, but is not something we can (in the flesh/world) "apply" or use ourselves to try to accomplish anything ourselves.

Nothing like covering yourself with millions of dollars and maybe a non disclosure agreement
