  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Democrats shut down government

Nope. It's the truth, though I'm confident you don't know it, because you haven't looked into it beyond what the clowns on Fox and Phonies said.

You think the people who lick Donald Trump's shoes care about you, your loved ones, or America at all?
They clearly do more than the Democrats. At least they getting rid of illegal alien criminals

Sept 23rd Rapture

People are re-playing and picking apart his initial phone call with God's Voice Daily back from June. Joshua didn't even know about the rapture or what it was up until "he was told by this spirit". So that tells me the dude doesn't read his Bible nor would he or should he be elgible to pastorize any church. He's a fraud all front and centre and we are witnessing what a genuine idiot really is who believes every wind of doctrine but won't study to show himself approved. I mean, he's been sitting on this vision for 7 years and couldn't be bothered to test the spirit? God is never going to tell any human being when the rapture is. It's just not going to happen, which is why we're to be ready all the time.
Goodness gracious, I didn't even know Joshua said that. I'm glad people were pulling apart what he said and it irritates me that Vlad had a hand in making that guy go viral. People should stop tuning into Vlad now because he PROMOTED IT. He is just as much complicit in this as Joshua is. But I know people aren't going to do it... It makes me sick people just do not care that this was proven false and CONTINUE to listen to the pair of them.

This is exactly why God trained previous prophets. So they could tell the difference between God and Satan/minions. God is also NOT going to tell some random person to go proclaim something serious that has NOT been trained by God himself. That does not exist. First question to ask anyone who thinks God is telling them a message to go spread, "do you know how to test the spirits?" and if the answer is no, automatic false prophet. I guarantee it.

Morality without Absolute Morality

Do you think forcing a spouse against their will to engage in sexual intercourse is wrong?
Yes. But in certain cultures, especially in the Middle East and South Asia, it is the duty of the wife to gratify the sexual needs of her husband. Therefore, in those cultures, spousal rape is often viewed as morally good when a wife refuses to fulfill her roll. Similar situation found in the Handmaid's Tale. Side note, handmaids do not wear red cloak and white bonnet, they wear black burkas.

If you have an example demonstrating that rape is not wrong then the claim would be factually incorrect.
You are factually incorrect to say that everyone agrees rape is wrong. You are using a bandwagon fallacy by claiming rape is wrong because everyone agrees it is wrong.

Are infants guilty because of Adam's sin?

It appears to me you are confusing the text with your interpretation of it. This is the basis of the argument. It does NOT say the sin of Adam is imputed. That's your interpretation. Can you see a difference? You approach the text with the preconceived idea that it means Adam's sin is imputed. But the text doesn't say that. So how you are reading the text is faulty.

You are mistaking the absence of a single English word for the absence of the doctrine it names. That is the word–concept fallacy, assuming that if a particular word does not appear in a passage then the concept it names is absent from the passage. See D. A. Carson, Exegetical Fallacies, 2nd ed. (Baker Academic, 1996); Moisés Silva, Biblical Words and Their Meaning, rev. ed. (Zondervan, 1994); James Barr, The Semantics of Biblical Language (Oxford University Press, 1961).

Paul's forensic argument in Romans 5:14-19 embodies the very logic of imputation, namely, liability transferred on the basis of federal representation. The concept is structurally and contextually present, even though the technical English gloss "impute" is absent. Paul is arguing representationally and forensically:
  • v. 13 uses ἐλλογέω ("count/charge/credit"): "sin is not counted where there is no law." The lexical field of imputation is already in the pericope.
  • vv. 16, 18 uses κατάκριμα ("condemnation"): a courtroom term, not a mere description of corruption.
  • v. 19 uses κατεστάθησαν ("by the one man's disobedience the many were made [κατεστάθησαν, constituted] sinners"): parallel to being constituted righteous in Christ; if you deny forensic imputation in Adam, you shipwreck the parallel that grounds justification in Christ (whatever κατεστάθησαν means for Adam must apply analogically to κατασταθήσονται for Christ).
  • The verb is καθίστημι, which in Romans 5:19 is the aorist passive indicative, third person plural (κατεστάθησαν, constituted/appointed/made). Lexically, καθίστημι means to bring into a particular state or relation, to appoint, to make, to constitute (BDAG, s.v. καθίστημι). This range includes judicial or declarative senses. For example: Matthew 24:45, "whom his master has set over his household" (appointed to a role); Acts 7:10, Pharaoh "made him ruler" or governor (appointed, not transformed); Hebrews 5:1, "every high priest is appointed to act on behalf of men."
Romans 5:12-21 contrasts two representative heads, Adam and Christ. The governing ideas are judgment and condemnation versus justification and life, all forensic or covenantal categories. When Paul says the many were constituted sinners, he is not describing an ethical change in personal character but a judicial placement under condemnation through Adam's disobedience. The result—death reigned—follows from legal liability.
  • Lexically: καθίστημι means to appoint, constitute, not become.
  • Syntactically: The Adam–Christ parallel demands forensic symmetry.
  • Contextually: The whole pericope revolves around judicial categories—sin/righteousness, judgment/life, condemnation/justification.
  • Theologically: Denying the forensic sense in Adam undermines it in Christ.

Another look at the moon landing.

I've yet to see a genuine image of the earth in it's full glory.
Correction - you have yet to see an image of the earth in all its glory that you believe is genuine. A search on Google for "The earth from space" brings up hundreds of images. For example:

If rockets are going up and leaving a globe earth and going 200,00 mile away. Out into an outer space as exist, as stated and described by science, with CGI illustrations

Then have at lest one actual video example of a rocket going up and showing the earth as the rocket leaves the earth in the distance. With the earth getting further and further away from the rocket, so eventually the whole globe earth is seen and eventually being reduced in size as the rocket over travel distance, gets further and further away from the globe earth.

How much of your income are you willing to have taken for taxpayer funded healthcare.

Would not having better and more reliable access to health care, including preventative care (as opposed to only having access to an ER) help achieve those lifestyle changes you mentioned?

-- A2SG, and thus make inroads on the other stuff you cited....
I don't think so.

Surely, increasing access would increase costs .. not good. But how would increasing visits to a PCP provide a reversal to "declining birthrates, preventable risks like smoking, obesity, poor diet, and substance abuse"? Do you suppose that those who have developed such unhealthy lifestyles don't know that those lifestyles are unhealthy? Do they need to see a doctor to tell them so because they have no real friends who will tell them so for free?

Trump plan would limit Social Security disability benefits for older Americans

Thought we were running the government like a business? Gotta get rid of the ones not pulling their weight.
Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?

Morality without Absolute Morality

Did I read that right? A wife is wrong to reject sexual advances from her husband? In which case, in that circumstance, rape is not morally wrong? I hope I misread that.
My intention was not to suggest that marital rape was justified when the spouse denies intimacy. The intention was that depending on the circumstances, grace will be given to a spouse who is withholding intimacy.

Border Patrol calls for help, Chicago PD does not respond

When the state and local government give sanctuary status to illegal immigrants and instruct law enforcement not to cooperate with federal authorities it makes it kind of difficult to work with them
The federal government faces notable difficulties in enforcing laws when local and state governments express opposition. Throughout American history, citizens have maintained diverse perspectives on governance. Nevertheless, for nearly 249 years, there has generally been cooperation among federal, state, and local authorities. In instances of conflict, the federal government often seeks to encourage alignment through persuasion.

Historically, the deployment of the National Guard against the wishes of a governor has been relatively rare, with only two presidents—Eisenhower in 1957 and Kennedy in 1962—taking such action within the first 249 years of the nation's history. In contrast, President Trump has authorized the deployment in three states within the past ten months.

The question of presidential authority to deploy the National Guard contrary to a governor’s wishes remains unresolved, as several courts have challenged President Trump’s actions. A definitive judgment on this matter awaits a ruling from the Supreme Court.

Regardless of legal authority, it is worth considering whether a nation should routinely allow federal power to supersede local government and enforce laws irrespective of local sentiment. While such measures may currently enjoy support, opinions could shift if future administrations pursue similar strategies without local consensus.

You can argue that the federal government is only enforcing laws because of local government actions. However, once the federal government exceeds its power, this practice will likely continue beyond President Trump's term. If that's the country you want, remember, future presidents—liberal or conservative—may use these precedents to justify similar actions.

I definitely wouldn't want to live in a country like that. Even with its flaws, I prefer America's system over the past 249 years, where federal and local governments have cooperated and resolved disagreements through the courts.

However, I recognize that my perspective is not widely shared. It has become increasingly clear that both conservative and liberal groups, upon attaining power, seek to impose their way of life on others. Consequently, we may need to prepare for significant challenges ahead.

Some of the problems there lie in the fact that so many Americans don't have health insurance at all, or they have inadequate coverage or high deductibles or copays, making doctor visits expensive and prohibitive.

Tithing. What are first fruits in a non agrarian society?

While I'm at it, I'd suggest you try to do some fitness training in the little spare time you have left. I'm diabetic and while I'm not too bad, I remember a chap I used to pick up as a community transport driver. He was in a wheelchair.

One day he said to me "I'm in this wheel chair because I used to do what you do." I asked him what he was talking about. He said he used to drive a cab, twelve hour days, no exercise, junk food, insufficient sleep and all the rest. He got Diabetes and eventually lost part of both legs. A year or two later he had gone.

I picked up a few diabetic passengers in wheelchairs like him, and I often found that after another couple of years they'd died due to diabetic complications.

So try to look after your health, even though you haven't got much time for yourself.

Morality without Absolute Morality

I'm not proving anything about any god. I just have never seen any evidence for one.
Yes. So your claim on His non-existence cannot be defended.
This claim is nonsensical. It is nowhere doing nothing for no time?
Yes, to He is "nowhere". No, to "doing nothing" at "no time".
I was making a defintion. Do you think so-called absolute morality is by definition only a proposal? Or do you claim it exists?
To a godless person, absolute morality can only be presented as a proposal. Do you acknowledge any authority exists that one can appeal to in support of the validity of such a claim?
We have his audio recording saying exactly that.
Can you provide a link? No one else can.

Sure let’s place a camera in the rocket exhaust so it can film the earth as it leaves. What a non sense request. Like I posted earlier, here is the schedule for future space missions. One is tonight at 8pm and you can watch it.
