It is permissive for Christians to eat meat today

Every carnivore will preach that, no vegetables, that's a stable of the carnivore diet.
They don't 'preach' that. Those who do the carnivore diet usually do it for health reasons, like Jordan Peterson's daughter, Mikhaila, but they know the diet isn't for everyone.

I believe that ALL who ever lived will be in God’s Kingdom

Well, I know you're fond of blaming "self" before you'd actually bring the tempter, the deceiver into the pictures, that's for sure. You work in the mental health field?
All humans have an adversarial spirit which works in league with the Adversary. We need only work on ourselves. Self-awareness need not lead to self-interest. God will deal with the bigger picture.

Are we spiritual beings or just spiritually minded and/or spiritually filled?

I tend to believe the bible does not have a 100% solid answer on this.. to protect us. when children find out they are spirits inside bodies. they try to find ways to get out of them. in one case i heard a confession that a woman got really good at it when she was just 5 years of age, till God told her "never do that again"

Personally I believe that are are spiritual beings inside a body. however, i do not believe we existed prior to conception, so how God creates our spirit and puts it inside the person, I don't know.

so john the baptist, full of the holy spirit in the third trimester, supernaturally recognizes Jesus in mary...because he is Elijah's spirit.
not full re-incarnation of persons, but re-incarnations of a human spirit which was able to recognize the spirit of God himself, in another person.

when i am asleep, my spirit is still awake. as such, dreams can be supernaturally powerful battle grounds, not merely my imagination.

Evolution conflict and division

And you end up with about 0.3% who don't accept evolutionary theory.
Actually you don't. The statement they signed doesn't say "we don't accept evolutionary theory", it says they're skeptical that mutation and selection alone are fully sufficient to explain the diversity of life on earth.

There isn't a single evolutionary biologist in the world who thinks mutation and selection are the only mechanisms to evolution.

Did you not read what you cite? From the first entry: "... but its initial evolution remains poorly understood". So the authors decide to abandon "natural selection" to invent a human controlled experiment.

Ten replicate populations of initially isogenic S. cerevisiae were grown in nutrient-rich liquid medium with shaking to stationary phase (∼109 cells/replicate population) before subculturing and daily transfer to fresh medium. All replicate populations were allowed to stand for 45 min before transfer to 10 mL fresh medium, during which time cells settled toward the bottom of the culture tube. Cells in the lower 100 μL were then transferred to fresh medium. After the first week, we modified the settling step to be more time efficient by using 100 × g, 10-s centrifugations of 1.5-mL subsamples from the shaken 10-mL tube to settle population fractions for transfer to fresh medium. We expected these conditions to select for clusters of cells, whether by postdivision adhesion or by aggregation.

Show us just one ape in the wild who uses simple sentences to communicate with other apes and then you'll have my attention.
That's very unethical of you. You initially said that evolution isn't empirical science because it doesn't include repeatable experiments, but after I show you how it does you wave away the entire concept of experimentation because experiments are "human controlled".

You were wrong (again) but instead of acknowledging and correcting your error you just doubled down and made it even worse.

US loses last perfect credit rating amid rising debt

Thank God we have a President who knows how to negotiate with trans national leaders. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that tariffs imposed in 2025 could reduce the federal deficit by $3.3 trillion over the next decade, with an additional $0.7 trillion in savings from lower interest payments, totaling a potential $4 trillion impact. Through August 22, 2025, tariffs and customs duties brought in $156 billion, nearly double the $78 billion collected over the same period the previous year. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB) notes this revenue is "meaningful" and could slow the growth of the $37 trillion national debt,
And who pays for that? That’s right: American consumers.

Well played Mr President.

The Teachings of Jesus; a guide to leadership

Reflecting on those words, it's an invitation for God to examine someone and forgive them based on whether or not they are forgiving other people. If they aren't forgiving people their trespasses against them then it's the same as saying "God, don't forgive me because I don't forgive others." In that way, it's a bit of a dangerous prayer and it's something Jesus taught.
And entirely fitting Jesus' second commandment and the will of God since the Garden, putting His will first thus helping all in need, not just serving self as selfish man is prone to do. This is the foundation of our existence according to God. Man has opposite ideas..

Hamas knows exactly what it is doing. Starvation is a bargaining chip; the emaciated hostage is a living press release.

You are correct about the $3.8b sent annually in military and economic aid to Israel, a figure established by a 2016 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and running until 2028. In full disclosure since October 2023 Israel has received an additional $17b in military aid which is not included in the chart below nor the total US output of aid for 2023. But we need to put these numbers in perspective to make an objective opinion if the aid is too much or average.

In 2023, the last year that numbers are available, the US spent $99.8b in aid to different countries With the largest being $16.6b to Ukraine.
Notably, Ukraine is in the midst of an active conflict with a numerically superior invading force. Ukraine has hundreds of thousands of soldiers engaged in a drawn-out war with a peer-quality force that is actively invading their country and trying to take their territory. They sustain hundreds of military casualties every day, and several thousand civilian casualties every month. Meanwhile, Israel completely outclasses Hamas, Iran, and all of its other regional enemies combined as a fighting force, and they received more aid than Ukraine did in response to a single (large and horrific though it was) terrorist attack. I say that not to minimize the October 7th attack, but to point out the differences in scale. Objectively, Ukraine's situation is far worse than that of Israel in the sense that Ukraine faces an actual existential threat. Even though Hamas desires to wipe Israel off the planet, they utterly lack the capability to actually do so. The number of Ukrainian civilians killed by Russia since 2022 has far outstripped the number of Israelis killed by Hamas, even if we go back decades. So yeah, unless you think that US aid to Ukraine is way too low, there's no real way to justify how much Israel gets.
Considering the importance of Israel‘s strategic location, the sharing of intelligence, and the business partnership I don’t see an average of $4b a year to be excessive since it merely accounts to 4% of total US aid output.
We get most of the same military benefits from Jordan - better in some respects, as we're able to actually base troops there (iirc, the only US "bases" in Israel are a radar station and equipment storage depots). Guess how much aid they get from us? And guess what their GDP is relative to Israel's?

Business partnerships have nothing to do with military aid or the government, so I don't know why those keep getting mentioned.

Trump dispenses with trials, orders military strike on alleged Venezuelan drug-trafficking boat

What a coinky-dink!

A federal appeals court late Tuesday blocked President Trump's use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelans the administration says are gang members, likely setting up a legal clash at the U.S. Supreme Court.

The panel did grant the Trump administration one legal victory, finding the procedures it uses to advise detainees under the Alien Enemies Act of their legal rights is appropriate.

The ruling can be appealed to the full 5th Circuit or directly to the U.S. Supreme Court, which is likely to make the ultimate decision on the issue.

So, now that we've bombed a boatload of civilians, can we properly say we're at war with them? How about if they strike back?

The Teachings of Jesus; a guide to leadership

Was there not an opinion that because the Christians refused to honour the pagan gods, that whenever pagan prayers failed, be it crops or something, they assumed it was because the gods were angry at the Christians, thus it was their fault and they should be held accountable?

Is This The New Normal?

Seriously? You’ve never seen videos of rabid liberals refusing to follow the laws during police stops or man-on-street videos asking people what the laws are regarding being questioned when a crime takes place?

Look up John Stuart Mill and Edwin M Schur who promoted the ideas of victimless crimes, and then laws passed during/after the George Floyd riots that made it OK to loot and destroy property because no one is getting hurt. But in reality, many people get harmed in the course of these “victimless” crimes, on many different levels. And since then, many reporters and politicians have stated that certain crimes didn’t need to be prosecuted because nobody was hurt. All which alter the perception of how much crime is being committed.
I think you misunderstand what victimless crimes are. Looting and destroying property are not a victimless crimes. The ones who own that property and loot are the victims. Victimless crimes includes things like consensual acts involving prostitutes, the act of giving oneself drugs (the related crimes are not victimless like theft), and gambling when all parties are consenting.

This is a good discussion of it:

At issue is the debate over whether the law should forbid activities for which it is difficult or impossible to determine precisely who is being harmed and how. It has been argued that the law should not forbid activities if they harm no one except, perhaps, the people willingly involved in them. Some legal scholars argue that the United States has become an “overcriminalized” society. On the other hand, others point out that some supposedly “victimless” crimes indeed generate harm (for example, drug addiction leads to theft and robbery as addicts try to support their habit). There is also a widespread belief that certain activities should be prohibited because they are harmful to society at large—this is essentially a moral and philosophical position and is therefore difficult to evaluate empirically.

Personally I see things like prostitution as morally wrong and harmful to society, as it brings so many other crimes related to it. Same with drug use. The drug user hurts himself when injecting, but it hurts society as those drug users commit crimes to have the money to buy drugs, and it overall hurts society. The legal question is if it is better to put that person into rehab or jail.

Evolution conflict and division

A serious researcher does his own research.
You could have done it. But I did it for you. As you see, one can compare opinions by matching the DI list to the list at Project Steve. And the DI list is about 0.37% of Project Steve. Do you now see why the bandwagon argument is such a loser for YE?

Why would I? The study is a joke.
It's not actually a study. It's just a list of people compiled by the Discovery Institute to impress the gullible. As you see, many of the people on that list aren't even scientists, much less biologists. They added al sorts of people like "tutor" to pad the list.

GIGO. Sound familiar?
Well, I wouldn't have put it that way. I prefer to say "padding the list."

As you now probably realize, "look at all the scientists who don't like evolution" is rather easily debunked by the facts.

Does God want men to choose easy options ?

No. Breathing is not a cause of pollution.
i spoke of the contribution of the breathing to CO2 level in atmosphere, not qualitatively but quantitatively, in the precarious balance of gas proportions. It's this imbalance in these proportions that worries me. It's a bit like drugs : They say production and consomption of drugs 's always existed. All the issue is this of proportion

Trump to use wartime Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport illegal migrants from ‘enemy nations’: sources

And his salivating base will ABSOLUTELY believe that exactly.
Don't call me a salivator. I don't drool. That's rude.

...Maybe you could edit that to something less insulting.

Question on Gun Control - real life question asking for practical answers.

Background:

Key Details About ATF Form 4473:

  • Purpose: The form collects information to verify that the buyer is not prohibited from purchasing or possessing a firearm under federal or state law. It facilitates a background check through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
  • Information Required:
    • Personal details: name, address, date of birth, and government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport).
    • Questions about eligibility, including whether the buyer is a felon, fugitive, has certain mental health adjudications, domestic violence convictions, or other prohibiting factors listed in 18 U.S.C. § 922(g) and (n).
    • Details about the firearm: make, model, serial number, type, and caliber.
    • A short affidavit stating the buyer is eligible to purchase firearms and is the actual buyer (not purchasing for someone prohibited, i.e., no straw purchases).
  • Background Check: The FFL submits the buyer’s information to NICS or a state equivalent to check for criminal history or other disqualifiers. The check typically takes minutes but can be delayed for further review.
  • Retention: The FFL must keep the completed Form 4473 for 20 years after the transaction, whether the sale is approved or denied. Denied forms are retained for five years.
  • Penalties for False Information: Lying on Form 4473 is a federal felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and fines, though prosecutions are rare unless a felony is committed with the purchased firearm.
Question:

What would you add, expand on or remove.

Examples:

Some want an expanded view on the person's mental health
  1. How would you do that?
  2. What about HIPPA laws?
  3. What type of exam and by whom?
Some want private gun sales to require form 4473
  1. How would you track the 300,000,000 plus guns already out there?
  2. Would you be in favor of a national registry for all guns?
Some call for mandatory sentencing for gun crimes

Let's keep personalities out as much as possible and talk about practical application. What do your changes look like in real life.

Trump to use wartime Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport illegal migrants from ‘enemy nations’: sources

Supreme Court rejects Trump bid to resume quick deportations of Venezuelans under 18th century law

The high court had already called a temporary halt to the deportations from a north Texas detention facility in a middle-of-the-night order issued last month.

And his salivating base will ABSOLUTELY believe that exactly.

Not "bus drivers, construction workers, nurses", it's "drug dealers, gang members, murderers".

But no...not racist. Just because they have dark skin and weren't born here doesn't mean their innocent.

Under RFK Jr.'s Leadership, CDC Launches Large Wasteful Study on Vaccines and Autism

Yes. About when and who. Not that it is junk science. You and I both know we can go to Lancelot and pull up studies promoting booster shots in general use. What this is; is a disagreement which, low and behold, is part of science. To suggest people are "making science up" in the same manner as RFKjr is doing is quite the thing.

The CDC has been "making science up" for years. The "studies' they ran to support masking, plexiglass barriers, 6-foot distancing, school closures, washing your groceries, etc. were all laughable nonsense. Yet they dictated these non-scientific mandates on the public.

I suspect this year's COVID vaccine uptake will be even less than it was last year. Less than 1/3 of HEALTH CARE WORKERS got the updated COVID shot last year despite the CDC's overly-broad recommendation that EVERYONE over the age of 6 months should get it. Clearly, the CDC has lost not only the public, but our health-care workers are even ignoring the CDC's recommendations.

It's amazing that all of these people have resigned from the CDC in protest over COVID vaccine recommendations that the vast majority of the population has been ignoring for years.

Trust is gone. The CDC cannot be an effective agency without the trust of the public. They destroyed that during COVID, and it won't be easy to regain.
