Jesus & Social Justice

If there is one thing this site has shown me it is that only faith in Christ is important. Being decent to other people is purely optional.
It is unfortunate if that is the impression you got.
True faith is shown in the fruit people show, and how they act.

Gal 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

That kindness and goodness would be shown in how we treat other people and if we care about their circumstances and if we treat them fairly.
Seems to be a challenge these days.

Here’s how the first proteins might have assembled, sparking life

Evolution is the claim that living organisms are transformed into different forms or species through accumulated changes over time.
We've observed, documented, and studied evolution happening for decades, which reveals the fundamental mistake you keep repeating. Whether the first life on earth came to be by chemistry, was created by God, or was placed by aliens, the evolution of new forms and species will remain an observed fact of reality.

BTW- freedom of speech is also a constitutionally protected right in the US not as it is in the UK.
What has that got to do with this topic? Or are you saying gun crime is protected speech?

What are you even talking about?

Jesus & Social Justice

"Social," "environmental," "climate," etc. justice is a function of the populace.

Justice is the function of government.
Not really. It is something each person should do.

Check out Micah 6:8
Mic 6:8
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

As a person of God, we are required to be just and love mercy. That would include responding when we see inequities, and mistreatment.

That really depends on how you define "traitor." As Pommer said, she didn't sell out the country to an enemy, but she did betray the oath that she took to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States. In many peoples' books, that makes her a traitor.
Rock one. You say that depends on how you define traitor. I guess it does. And considering the constitution you mention. It not only mentions protecting your nation from the outside when taking the oath . But also mentions protecting it from enemies within. And that can equally refer to government and not just the people. Were these people really traitors. If so they would have come fully loaded but no guns were ever fired from the protesters. It was a protest that spiraled out of control and became a spontaneous wildfire due to the highly charged election controversy’s from the 2020 election. Most were there to vent their protest and certainly not to betray their country and certainly not Ashley. I do think a wise president could have healed a great divide within in your nation. Instead the opposite prevailed for the next 4 years. And that of incarcerating many people in jail as traitors. A majority of who were merely guilty of a trespassing fine. Nothing more as I said in my first post. A majority of those protesters were never traitors.

You have no room for criticism. In the US gun ownership is a constitutionally protected right.
Yes I know. That is a big part of the problem. America has proved time and again it is unable to prevent its citizens from killing kids in schools with guns.

That is part of what has to change.

Sounds more than a bit duplicitous regarding His command that He gave to Adam

You might have been able to easily overpower her, but what about the dozens of other people behind her smashing through the doors? What would they have done when you tackled her? Would you have been able to overpower them too?

Context matters.
He could have stopped her from coming through the window. He hadn’t exhausted all other means before he shot her. There was no preclusion

Liberal Catholicism is the Way of Death; Mother of Shooter is a ‘Devout’ Catholic – Fr. Dv. J. Nix

Earlier today, during the opening Mass at Annunciation Catholic school in Minneapolis, a 23 year old man shot numerous children and adults before killing himself. Among those killed was an 8 year old and a 10 year old. Three adults and fourteen children were then taken to the local trauma center, some in critical condition.

What is the role of a priest and nun in such situations? Let’s consider biological parents before we look at spiritual fatherhood and motherhood. When a child is hurt, it is the job of a mother to comfort her children. However, a father is called to both comfort his children and to guide them on how to avoid similar tragedies in the future.

As a spiritual father, my article here is not to finger-point, but rather to warn that tragedies like today’s shooting can somewhat (not entirely) be avoided by teaching the true Catholic faith. As you will soon read, the shooter and his mother were baptized Catholics at the very parish where the shooting took place.

Continued below.
The angst in this priest's words - and heart - is painfully refreshing to hear. Yes, far too many priests in the Western Churches today are panderers for parish and worldly applause, while ignoring their obligations before God whose praise they ought to thirst for. What a horrid contradiction has descended upon us! The unthinkable has come among us like a plague from hell, "standing in the Holy Place", having seated themselves in the Judgment Chair of Jesus, dressed like lambs but mouthing words like the dragon.

I'm so very sorry the Church has accepted and now promulgates the title "father" to most of her leaders. This holy Reality has been robbed of its potent focus given by God. The perfect prayer, given us by Jesus, the "Our Father," has become nearly meaningless, if not impotent. It is rattled off and raced through like a paper-thin poem from antiquity. In the dimension of the spirit there are only two fathers, which Jesus made clear:
1) The Father in Heaven. "Call no man on earth your father!" What part of that is unclear? "You have one Father, who is in heaven". And,
"you are all brethren." (Mt 23:8)
And then there is:
2) The father of lies and liars.
Jn 8:43 Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word.
Jn 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Jn 8:45 But, because I tell the truth, you do not believe me.

If God's people were faithful to this truth, perhaps more could and would hear the immense treasure of saving holy wisdom there is, in this prayer, the Our Father! Clericalism among priest and bishops - and in the laity - would be weakened, and the potency of humility could be more easily embraced. Most of all, the truth that God IS my Father would be no longer obscured by the living contradiction of it (that is, the many wolves in sheep's clothing who are indiscriminately called "Father" in rote obedience to a small -"t" - tradition. In this we fall to the patterns of the past: "You leave the commandment of God, and hold fast the tradition of men." (Mk 7:8)

The guidelines for the use of deadly force are Ability, Opportunity, Jeopardy and Preclusion.
Did Babbitt have the ability to kill or cripple the officer or someone else?
She had a knife in her pocket but the officer didn’t know this until after she was killed. So as far as the officer knew, no
Did Babbitt have the opportunity to kill or cripple the officer or someone else? No
Did the officer believe that he was in jeopardy? Yes, I believe he did
Preclusion, was there anything else he could have done? Yes, he could have stopped Babbitt from coming through the window, there were several things he could have done.
The conditions for deadly force were not met
Three investigations into the shooting conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Capitol Police, and the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department found that the conditions for the use of deadly force were met.

Is being single, and able to handle it, a blessing?

Is being single, and able to handle it, a blessing?

Referring just to the general idea of the thread, I would think it can be a blessing. I am single & solitary socially I am blessed to have a few resources to share with others ( I work general warehouse labor). I can at least with alms giving ( basic charity) & prayer ( Matthew 6:1-13) for basic needs and also for those who evangelize ( Matthew 9:36-38). I believe what St. Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 9:6-15 is a holy framework for us to understand in doing this. Even if we are solitary, we are not disconnected and have a role to fill ( Titus 3:1-8).

Might the Laws of God actually change on the New Earth?

Allegorizing scripture to essentially be meaningless and glorifying the mundane is just.. not the God I know.

and scripture does say that this planet passes away, and is replaced.

like, here's the issue I have with overallegorizing scripture. Is that you can basically make it mean whatever you want. People use "spiritualizing" scripture to extreme ends to declare preterism as true, that the New Earth is now, that we're living in heaven now, and that the kingdom is just the Church and just.. glorifying mundane life on this sin cursed ball floating in space, burying their head in the sand at all the suffering and sin and death that still is all around them. They talk about how the "proof" of their truth being how widespread Christianity is as a religion, and to that I say: spreading a religion is no proof of its divine truth, ISLAM spreads more rapidly than Christianity these days, and Islam is most definitely not the true and living God. I'm simply not awed by a religion spreading, especially when much of its spread was by force for hundreds of years. You can force people to worship trees at gunpoint/swordpoint and it'll spread. Nothing divine or spiritual about that.

Jesus will come back, He has not yet. When He comes back it won't be something that has to require mental gymnastics to believe, it'll be undeniable. Throughout scripture when they talk about the Day of the Lord (which is when Jesus comes back) God says that even the heathen will know He is the Lord. It won't take belief at that point, it won't take faith either. It'll be undeniable, and unbelievers will know then. Similarly, when the Old Earth passes away and the New Earth is created, it won't be something you have to stretch and mental gymnastics your way through.. it'll just be reality. This world won't exist anymore, and the New Earth will be different, things won't die on it for starters, there won't be sin on it either.
Dear Jamboc,
Someday you are going to be shocked & humbled when Christ finally heals your spiritual blindness and you can see Him (the Word of God) clearly for the first time.

The Second coming of Christ and the Day of the Lord occurs for each Elect babe before they die. If Christ doesn't come back to a babe before they die, then they are not one of the Elect and they will die in their sins.

For the Elect babes, the second coming of Christ & the Day of the Lord (judgment) will immediately follow the baptism of the Holy Spirit (the Latter Rain). The Latter Rain is what heals the bride's spiritual blindness so that the Bridegroom will appear to them. After He appears, the wedding will occur, followed by the Day of the Lord.

Because Christ comes a second time to all of His Elect before they die, Christ's second coming is said to be a reoccurring event (is, was and will be coming):

Rev 1:4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne...

Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Rev 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

Rev 11:17 saying: “We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was and who is to come, because you have taken your great power and reigned.

When Christ gives the small measure of the Spirit to an unbeliever, they become a babe in Christ and enter the church. In this weak spiritual condition, Satan will come to them and deceive them. No babe since the death of Paul can avoid Satan's deceptions. It is in this apostate condition that all Elect babes wait for the Bridegroom's return (since Paul's death).

Consider what James said below:

James 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receives the EARLY and LATTER RAIN. 8 Be ye also patient; establish your hearts: FOR THE COMING OF THE LORD DRAWETH NIGH.

James was speaking to "babes" who had only been given the Early Rain. They were still waiting for the Lord to come back and pour out the Latter Rain. James encourages the babes by saying that Christ's coming "draweth nigh". It was not a one-time far off event that the apostate churches teach. James understood that Christ's second coming is a reoccurring spiritual event that will convert the babes into the children of God and make them blameless before the Law. This is exactly what Paul also told the Corinthian babes who were likewise waiting for the Lord to come again.

1Cor 1:6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you (confession of faith/Early Rain): 7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: 8 Who shall also confirm you (by the Latter Rain) unto the end (conversion), that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ (judgment that completes a babe's conversion).

If Christ's second coming is a one-time event that only happens at the literal end of this age, then how can any believer says that they are already "blameless" before the Law?

The story of the woman taken in adultery is a "type" that teaches when an Elect babe receives the Latter Rain and is made blameless before the Law. It matches exactly with what Paul to the Corinthian babes.

In the story, a woman (represents the Elect/Bride of Christ) is found committing adultery. This adultery represents the original sin that occurred in the Garden of Eden by Adam and Eve (one flesh). The person who Adam and Eve committed adultery with was Satan. It was spiritual adultery that occurred when they followed the crooked way of Satan instead of the straight way of Christ. This sin occurred when Adam and Eve made an apron of fig leaves to cover their sin (works of their hand). This is the crooked way of Satan and is the same way required by the Old Covenant of Law. When a babe commits this sin, it will led to their spiritual death.

Because Adam and Eve committed the sin that leads to death, Christ forsook them and cast them out of the Garden (His home).

This verse applies:

Isa 54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. 6 For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou was refused, saith thy God. 7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.

Ever since Adam & Eve (represents the Elect) were cast out of the Garden, Christ has been preparing for the day that He would reconcile with His forsaken wife. In this age, Christ is now doing so under the New Covenant.

To reconcile with His forsaken wife, Christ will write the Law of the Spirit in the heart of the woman. Christ begins this process by giving the woman the Early Rain. This is shown when Christ first writes in the earth. But become the woman is still not reconciled by the Early Rain and is still guilty before the Law, the Pharisees do not drop their stones (represents the Law) and leave.

Christ then writes in the earth a second time. This act represents the Latter Rain. At that time, the woman is reconciled and made blameless before the Law (made ready). The Pharisees then drop their stones and leave saying nothing. The Law can no longer accuse the woman of sin.

The story of the woman taken in adultery is a type for the pathway to salvation that all the Elect will travel. This pathway begins with the Early Rain, a time of falling away, the Latter Rain to make the bride ready and finally the appearance of the Bridegroom and judgment. After this occurs, the an Elect person is converted and saved.

This pathway that I described above is taught over and over again throughout the NT teachings of Christ. However, Christ teaches it in His spiritual language so that no one but those who have had their spiritual blindness healed can understand those teachings.
